Title: Pirates of the Caribbean's HP allusions
Post by: cho chang on June 3, 2007, 02:40:06 AM
Don't read this if you haven't seen the movie yet,

but the scene with the dead bodies floating underwater was SUCH a big reference to the inferi in Harry Potter. I actually shouted "INFERI" out loud and everyone looked at me kind of weird...o_O

and the kid at the beginning had braces. so NOT 18th century.

The kid at the begining did not have braces. His teeth were supposed to be messed up, showing an indication of scurvy and other vitamin deficionsies.

Also, the dead people floating was a lot like the idea of the Inferi.

he did have braces though. Through all the black makeup and stuff they put on his teeth, you can see the hint of braces.

Ummm, no. If anything, it was a gold tooth or silver tooth. They wouldn't have cast a kid with braces.
