i just realized something.....i don't remember ever seeing peeves in any of the movies! they mention him...but am i wrong, is he in them and i just missed him!?
no he is not. he really is a fairly important character.
really? why do you say that? i don't think he is...i just think he's there to annoy everyone! lol
The movie, being a really condensed version of the book, has to remove lots of things that are unimportant. I think that's how Peeves never had a role in the movies, because he wasn't associated too much with the actual plot.
One thing though, if a character was important, JKR would tell the directors to keep that character around... Like, she told the directors of Movie 5 to keep Kreacher because his role was important in the future.
wasnt peeves in one of the deleted scenes????i think 2nd movie if he is not posotive though sorry if im wrong
Peeves has to be in the sixth movie...well if there is one....LOL
why does he have to be in the sixth one?
Good question. I don't really see the need, if you ask me.
ya me niether I don't even really like him.
But...Peeves should at least be in this movie. He's a big part after Fred and George leave!
Ya she is right there.
well Ginny really just takes the words out of my mouth everytime....LOL....thanks Ginny for explaining to them
Haha, sorry. I don't mean to. I just like to help when I can.
yeah I understand...LOL.... ;D
lolz. Well, let's get back to the topic.
Peeves has a big part to play after Fred and George left, but then, all his pranks aren't really essential to the storyline, and because they're squeezing a 700-page book into a 3-hour movie, they wouldn't keep anything that isn't essential to the storyline. Conversely, if we see Peeves soon, we'd know he has a significant role in the storyline after all.
thats true...but, would that mean moaning myrtle is more important to the plot?I dunno, just a thought...she was important in the second...
Hmm... You have a point. Myrtle is a must-have for movies 2 and 4 (where she helped Harry with the egg), but otherwise not very significant to the storyline.
But the main thing is, myrtle is significant to the plot of the second instalment of the series, but Peeve's roles usually just embellish the storyline, and is not essential to storyline development.
Once again, I suppose it's the case where they take out the good little things for time reasons.
God, I hate movies of books for this reason. Alone, the movies are great...but when you read the book, then watch the movie...you want to shoot the movie makers.
*sighs*
They haven't got much of a choice, unless you want to watch a movie that's like a day long... And it'll prolly take a long time to produce...
(BTW You're up early, aren't you? ;D)
I would go to it if it was all day...lol...What I'm really dissapointed about is that the movie is coming out before the book, be it about ten days before or not....I'd rather read the book then watch the movie anyday...anyway, I'd still like to see peeves in the scene, but you do have a point, they probably cut him out. I'm wondering, though, why The guy who played hagrid, a while ago, mentioned in an interview that he might not be in all the movies.did he just feel like throwing us off?

I'd watch it.
And no. I was up so late it was early.

I don't think so. I think he thinks that Hagrid might die at the beginning (or close to) the seventh book.
huh. Then I guess when he said he wasn't appearing, he meant not for a signifigant amount of time? That would make sense...
Hmm... I seem to remember that he (Robbie Coltrane, the guy who does Hagrid) mentioned that he didn't want to do the movies anymore if either Dan, Rupert or Emma were quitting, since he thinks things would have changed too much. Now that the three of them have all signed to do all the movies, chances are he's staying too.
Wow this is alot of information.....you guys are smart....LOL

We also have to take into consideration JK's one interview. The one where they ask who she'd invite to dinner and she pauses, asking if it is ok to invite dead people. Then she tells us she'd invite Hagrid in addition to Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
Yes, but that is the character (Hagrid) dying. I think what Ron originally meant was that Robbie Coltrane didn't want to act as Hagrid anymore.
oh yeah about that interview.....hmm.....pondering now.....
oh...did someone up there mention my name?lol...hold on let me look at my post....oh no, I meant that in said interview he was hinting hagrid might die....
Oh, really? Then I was thinking of a different interview ;D Sorry, they give away too many interviews ;D
But then, I don't think Coltrane would know anything more than us regarding the contents of book 7.
you're probably right; I don't know,he probably just had some idea that no one was safe...
0612 didn't you or someone else say something about an interview....I forgot what you said....LOL

lolz... I think we all know that without him trying to tell us ;D

Oh yes, there was some confusing stuff... Anyway, Ron mentioned an interview with Robbie Coltrane (the guy who does Hagrid), and Coltrane said he might not be in all the movies. Ron's opinion was that Coltrane might have known that Hagrid was dying. Then of course, I got confused, and thought Ron was referring to another interview, where Coltrane had said that he wouldn't do the movies anymore if either Dan, Rupert or Emma were not starring in them.
well we're going to need some further information before determining anything....
i know i almost died when i found out they didn't add him in the fifth movie when fred and george leave and they say give her heck from us peeves i thought that was really funny it should have been in there
haha its funny i just read that part in the book!
peeves..?! sorry..but.. what's this? ???
have you ever read the books...Peeves is the mischevious ghost in the books...
