"Ugh..." Ginny's low voice was heard by no one, it seemed. She opened her eyes, sitting up and rubbing her temple. When she pulled her hands away, she looked at her fingers with disgust. There was blood on them, blood trailing from there down the side of her face and staining her blue hoodie.
She looked around, shivering in the winter cold. There was snow all around her, and she recognized where she was. Hogwarts grounds, the forest, seemingly. She stood slowly, testing her legs. She blinked a few times, wincing at the throbbing her head gave her.
The last thing she could remember was walking down the main street in Hogsmead. But that had to have been hours ago, since the sun was down and night was creeping in. Ginny shivered again, wrapping her arms around herself.
She wasn't worried for herself. Nor was she worried for Cody. She knew she had left him with Xaver that morning. She sneezed, then scowled. Only a few hours outside had already given her a cold. In addition was the horrible stench f blood, her blood. She hated that smell more than anything.
Jessie was skipping through the crisp air in the forest *la la la* she was singing. She was skipping past Ginny and when she noticed her she said *Oh my gosh! BLA!!!* She slipped in the snow that was parcially frozen and then looking around and blinking she saw Ginny again. *Woah!! Ginny are you ok??* She said standing up using a nearby tree for support. *Your kinda....* she put her hand up by her temple and started to do a hand motion (like... flashing.. you know??) *splirt splirt*
Ginny watched Jessie move, and with a slight chill realized she hadn't heard her coming. Something was wrong there too, then.
She shrugged, "I dunno if I'm ok." She said to her.
Albus was walking in the forest. Then he heard some voices. he walked against them quickly . Then he saw Ginny and Jessie.
" Hello!" He said in his normal tone. Then he saw Ginny's fingers.
" What has happened here?" Albus asked.
Ginny gingerly touched her head, where the blood was still coming, sticky and red and gooey.
"I don't know." She said, making a disgusted face, "I don't remember."
*Here....*Jessie pulled out some kleenex and gave them to Ginny. *They might help slow down the bleeding... but we should really get you to the hospital wing*
Ginny held the tissues to the bleeding wound, and frowned, "No. I'm not a student there anymore, they'll nly call St. Mungos. Besides, I need to get home. Xaver and Cody..." She paused, suddenly looking confused, forgetting what she was about to say.
Mira hearing a commotion walked towards it and saw Ginny. She had heard the last part of the sentence Ginny said. "Xaver and Cody what? Ginny are you feeling allright?"
Ginny closed her eyes, making a slight face, then throwing the tissue away. It landed on the snow, bright red against the pure white. The tissue was completly soaked with her blood, and she was still bleeding. Not that it mattered, she wouldn't bleed to death, she'd just get really dizzy once she lost alot.
"I...dunno." She opened her eyes, looking at Mira with confusion. "What about Cody and Xaver?"
*Ginny really... we should get you to the hospital wing, it's much closer than st. mungos!!* Jessie said trying to lead Ginny in the direction of the hospital wing. *Come on Ginny we really should go!!*
"No." Ginny scowled at Jesse, "You don't understand. They can't do anything for me at the hospital wing. Weakling healers don't have the power to heal me." She growled, a scvary noise from the back of her throat, and her eyes flashed.
She didn't mean to be so mean to them. She was a kind person in general. But she was being short of cruel now.
Jessie jumped back a little bit. *But... your hurt!!* She said desperatley. *If you dont get help who's going to heal you?*
"Jessie just leave it... You can't make Ginny do anything she doesn't want to.."
*Could we at least stop the bleeding, I'm getting nauscious!!*
"If it was possible dont you think I would have done so by now?" Ginny winced, the smell of the blood bringing memories to her.
Jessie didn't know what to do. *Then what should we do?*
Mira's head was floating off into the coulds trying to think. "Well... I am in training to become a doctor, but wounds this severe are hard to stop..." Mira dug in her pockets muttering to herself.
"Ginny?"
Xaver was suddenly behind them all, without a stirr of magic to announce his arrival, standing motionless, as if he'd been there all along.
Cody was in his arms, bundled up in the thick coat Xaver had been wearing earlier, asleep, his arms tucked between his body, and Xaver's, his young face pressed into his father's shoulder - completely asleep. His chest fluttered calmly, rythmatically, undeterred by the stress about them - Xaver had set up a small working of magics, to prevent Cody from being bothered by sensing things. Xaver, himself, had felt Ginny's stress... and it had drawn him here.
He shifted his weight, one arm holding Cody's weight, effortlessly, the other falling to his side, concern deeply written over his handsome features.
Mira almost jumped as Xaver appeared.
Ginny whirled around, her face flashing some strange mixture of emotions. Her eyes took in her son, asleep in his father's arms, then met Xaver's own blue eys.
"What are you doing here?"
If Xaver was surprised at Ginny's reaction - it didn't show. Little crossed his fixed expression, but a gentle concern, hinting at the corners of his dark eyes.
"I sensed you," he said quietly.
Cody didn't even stirr - protected beneath Xaver's light spell.
Ginny winced, reaching up and wiping blood from the side of her face, making a disgusted face at the smell again. Her face was pale, her red hair stringy from the snow and blood. Her eyes looked from his to Cody again, "What's the matter with him?"
Xaver glanced at Cody, himself. The boy was so startlingly like him, even with those dark blue eyes shielded beneath his sleep-wearied lids. Raven hair a soft mess about his head, the young, but attractive features of his face softened, and at ease in his sleep-state. Cody's mouth was open just slightly, light, even breaths being drawn through his light pink lips.
As if in reaction to Xaver's gaze, Cody sighed, and shifted, pressing his face into Xaver's neck.
He shifted, himself, moving his coat more adequately over Cody's shoulders, before looking to Ginny again.
There was no denying that it was deep concern, that lined the handsome edges of his face, now.
"He's asleep. Under a light spell so he won't be disturbed by the tensions I could feel all the way at home..."
His eyes flickered to her fingers, blood staining them, and her pretty face, and hair. He stared, for a moment, before forcing himself to look away.
"You don't remember what happened?"
Ginny kept her eyes on Cody, trying to focus them, but she was seeing doubles, triples, singles, then triples again. She touched her head again, wincing as her fingers brushed over the open gash in her head.
"What are you talking about?"
What a predicament.
Xaver glanced at Cody again, then, he moved to Ginny, stopping a foot or so from her, and he kneeled, gently laying Cody down, wrapped up and unaffected by his surroundings, in Xaver's enormous, oddly-textured coat. Xaver rose then, standing before Ginny - not touching her, immediately, for she was weakened on more levels than just physical, and he didn't want to make things worse.
"I was seeing if you remembered what happened to you, love. Anything at all. But don't worry about that now.." he said softly.
He was barely a foot in front of her.
Xaver opened his arms, slowly.
"It's OK, love... Come 'ere.."
Ginny looked at him, suspicioun written on her face, "He'll catch a cold..." She muttered, looking down at their son with soft concern. She didn't move, knowing that if she took even one step she would collapse. She avoided Xaver's eyes, confused by the current situation.
Her head hurt, she felt sick, she couldn't remember anything from the past few hours, and she couldn't even see straight. She didn't want any of those around her to see that, on edge and worried.
"I've got him wrapped in a little safety-net spell, remember? He's comfortable. And he's safe."
He looked at her.
"As are you."
Xaver closed the distance between them, Cody still being within an arm's reach distance, himself, wrapping an arm around her back, protectively, though only his fingertips grazed her clothing, his other hand coming up, tracing over, but not touching, the wound on her head.
"We need to get you fixed up. Before you catch the cold," he said gently. Lightly.
Ginny didn't remember, she had already forgotten that little tid-bit. Now she cut him a sideways look,
"How could you help when I can't even help myself?" She asked, her voice sharp, although she didn't intend it to be, "I won't catch a cold."
The blood started to slow, now drying slowly in the cold air. Still, she didn't feel the cold, and under normal circumstances she would have complained about it. She didn't feel his hand at her back, but felt the one near the wound.
"Don't touch that.." She added.
Xaver released her, though he hadn't really been holding her in the first place, backing a way a small step, and allowing his arms to fall to his sides.
"You might not - but there's still a chance. A chance more profound now that you've become weakened by loss of blood.."
He cast a glance to the wound, his frown deepening, even though he was relieved to see the blood slow some.
"I can help you help yourself."
Ginny's eyes followed him, caution etched into her face. Her gaze flickered from him to Cody, then back to him. Then her eyes shadowed over, sudden concern over something she couldn't describe showing up.
"Why are you here?" She suddenly asked, upset.
"I sensed your upset from home, Ginny."
Xaver looked at her.
Was she ..confusing him for...
"Home..." The word seemed to bring Ginny back to reality, and she blinked, looking to Xaver. Her eyes were tired now, and she wasn't sure what as going on. But the word home brought up a deep want to go there, the place where she knew she had a warm, soft bed to sleep in.
Xaver nodded, and slowly reached foreword, gently curving his hand to the side of her face, his thumb brushing, lightly, over her cheek.
"Home," he repeated, quietly.
What had happened to her?
..If anybody had done this..
He was going to kill 'em.
As his hand touched her cheek she closed her eyes, leaning her head onto his hand, "I don't think I'll make it there."
She shivered, suddenly cold. Her feeling was coming back, but that wasn't an especially good thing.
Xaver almost sighed aloud, thankful, as she leaned into him.
"Let me help you.."
Ginny murmmered something that sounded like 'Cody' but it hardly came out. She was exhausted, so tired, cold, and she just didn't feel right.
"Ginny?"
The concern, prominant over his face, deepened.
He wanted a response from her... And it worried him that her condition was still declining so.
He could easily take her, and Cody, back home, but..
He still didn't know what had happened to her...
Unfortunatly, Ginny wasn't sure either. All she knew was her head hurt, and she was tired and cold and that Xaver would take her home.
One thought persisited, however. Concern for her con rose slightly, "What about Cody." She repeated, speaking slowly so he could understand her.

"He's coming with us," he said, nodding, looking at her uneasily.
She looked like she was going to fall over any minute...
*Sighs* dam.n me and my horrible misspellings...con is a word so the spell checker didn't catch it.)
She nodded at him, "Ok." She said simply, looking at Xaver.
Jessie had stood there while Xaver talked to Ginny. She finally spoke up.
*Xaver? Do you want me to help you? I could carry Cody back to your house for you*
