Lavy sat in the common room in one of the big amrchairs. It was 4 in the morning but she couldn't sleep. She had finished all her homework hours ago and now, in front of the dying fire, she sat in silence.
Hogwarts had changed ssince she had left and although she had been bac for a few days now it still didn't feel completly effortless to put on a smile.
She had met up with all her old friends. Everyone was happy to see her but she could tell from their tones and the looks they gave her that some still hadn't complety forgiven her for abandoning them. She didn't even have to listen to her thoughts to know how some people felt towards her return.
She quickly wiped away the tears that were sliding down her cheeks when she heard someone coming down the steps.
Sarah had went up to the Gryffindor girls dormory to talk to someone but that person had not been there so she decided that she would walk down the stair and go back to her room. When she got to the bottom she could tell that someone was sitting in the chair by the fire. Not sure who it was Sarah thought she would walk over to it.
Once she got there she saw her friend Lavy sitting there. She thought she would stay and talk. "So why you up this late at night."
"Plenty of reasons." Lavy smiled, "I'm more worried about what you were doing here when your not Gryffindor." she crossed her arms.
"well I came to talk to some one." Sarah said she was going to go back to her room and pull her water ballon prank on people before she stopped to talk to Lavy.
"Besides why you so worried about me being in this dorm and not Ravenclaw. I mean I've been doing this for years." Sarah then sat down on one of the sits.
"I mean I hardly every sleep in my own dorm. I mean you've not given me a really reason on why you're up."
Lavy's smile sudden;y left her facewhen she realized that Sarah was right. She didn't know that she mostly slept in other people's rooms.
"Oh, I see." she felt herself slipping back into her self inflicted depression, "I didn't know you did that."
Sarah looked at her.
"Lavy don't be upset. I mean I've changed a lot since you left. I mean you should know that I'm drinking again. Everything has changed." Sarah looked at her for the first time she was able to break her shell and let her cold as ice eyes come though.
"That's what I'm talking about. I didn't know any of this because I didn't even bother to talk to you. Now I really feel bad." Lavy stood up, but sat right back down when she realized everyone was sleeping.
She sighted, trying to keep herself from crying. "I guess I still don't forgive myself for leaving you guys. I feel responsaible for everything that's going on here. Ginny has had to try and pick up after me and Neo without any help."
"No Lavy it not your fault at all." Sarah did not want to go into this but she knew she had to.
"It you want to know the truth you should not blame your self but blame Siruis." Sarah then walked over there and hugged her before sitting on a couch.
"I mean it is all his fault. I mean he has my heart and soul with him and he broke up with me." Sarah looked out the window.
"Now he is with someone else and I just feel like I can't get my heart and soul back. I mean I don't want it back I just want him. Since that happened I've hurt lots of people."
Lavy looked over at Sarah. "What do you mean? How have you hurt people?"
Sarah looked at her.
"Well I used the curcio curse on more then one person some of them I can't even remeber." Sarah looked at her then she looked at the fire before she said the next part.
"I then tired to rob Gingotts and was caugh but I got away." Sarah was not going to tell her how thought since she did not want her to get friends into this.
Lavy thought about her words before she spoke again. "Why did you do it? Was it all because of Siruis? Or is there something you're not telling me."
The last part was more of a statement. She knew there was something Sarah wasn't telling her and she was going to get to the bottom of it.'
"well part of it was becuase of Siruis. The other was I was tired of being a goodie two-shoe and wanted to have some fun. The people had siad they would let me do it if I joined them they also siad I would not get caught. I was easy just had to stun some Goblins." Sarah sat there and sort of smiled remebering it.
"I feel bad I did it know but if I could go back and change it I would not. Well this time I might get caught so that I know that I would never be tempted to do the evil I want to do again." Sarah knew that she was not going back to her old self. She was going to need help.
"I mean you and Ginny taught me all these things that I can't use here at the school."
"I should have never left." Lavy said, angry at herself, "I can't say that Siruis would have never left but at least you would have had someone to lean on when he did. You wouldn't have been tempted to stray..." her voice trailed off and when it returned it was weak from worry and tiredness.
"You might not have ended up running away even if you had attacked the bank. I would have told you to turn yourself back in and we both know you would have listened to me then. But not anymore."
Sarah looked at her. "Your right I might have listened to you. I might still listen to you. I will go turn my self in now. That what you want. Wait I just have to go to work and then tell them and they will take me then."
Sarah stood up mad. "your right it might not have been that way if you stayed but it is know and I don't want to talk about the past. I mean I would rather die then live it again."
"I'm glad you feel that way. Learn from the past, never relive it. That's my motto." She tired to smile but it turned into a grimace when someones thoughts broke through the wall she put around her mind.
That had been happening alot lately and it usually became nearly unbearable. Lavy let her head fall into her hands, willing the voices that were now flooding in to quiet down. They wouldn't. They only got louder.
Within seconds of the first voice breaking through had pressed her forhead up against the table in front of her, trying to get a handle on the situation. "You should go." she wispered to Sarah, not wanting her to see her in the state she was in now.
Sarah walked over to her.
"No I'm not I mean I can tell something going on with you and I'm not going to leave you." Sarah then smiled.
"Since you have been gone I learned to be almost as stubbon as Ginny."
She shook her head, "I can handle it. It's nothing." Lavy knew Sarah could see right through the lie but she still said it anyways. Her protective mother instinst were kicking in.
"I'll be fine. You should go." she repeated
Sarah smiled at this.
"If your so fine and you can handle it then why do I have to go. I mean why can't I stay." Sarah then sat down she was not going to leave.
Aaron was sitting in the forest till he realized what time it was he put his drawlings in his bag and hung them on a low branch. Aaron jumped out of the tree and grabbed his bag and walked through the forest he got to the edge of the forest.
Then he went past the great hall stopping and looking in -nobody- he thought to himself then
it hit him -they're all sleeping- he thought as he got the the fat Lady's picture he whispered the password and walked in and saw Sarah and someone else -she looks older I wonder if she's a new student or teacher- he thought to himself at first he walked right by them then turned and walked toward the girl who was talking to Sarah "hey I'm Aaron are you new?" he asked as he looked at her then to Sarah "hey Sarah are you okay" he asked her wondering what the look on her face meant.
"She's fine Aaron." Lavy said through clinched teeth. She looked up at him, taking him in. She looked over at Sarah. "You should really get going. You have better things to do they worry about me."
On the word me her hand came back up to her head. Someone was screaming. The sound was defting not to mention painful. She winced.
Sarah ran over to her and wrapped her hands around her.
"I don't think so. What going on what do you hear. I mean you used to beable to stop all this." Sarah was not paying attention to Aaron just worried about her friend.
"It's nothing. Really. There's nothing to worry about." she turned to Aaron, looking for a reason to change the subject.
"How are you?" She had completly forgotten that Aaron had no idea who she was.
Sarah stood there looking at Lavy. She knew something was going on but she wanted to think of a way to talk to her and make her talk.
"Okay I will stay here until I feel like going."
"Suit yourself." Lavy turned back to Aaron.
Aaron backed up and walked toward the stairs. He went about half way up and sat down -I wonder that was about I hope she's okay- he thought to himself then realized his bag was on the floor near the door he walked back down and saw Sarah holding and talking to the girl he walked over toward the door and grabbed his bag not taking his eyes off of the girl and Sarah then the girl started talking to him "I'm fine I don't want to be rude but whats your name?" he asked her walking back to were she was with his bag in his hands in case he had to leave
(see your getting the hang of it. it's always better to write alot because it gives us more to work with)
"OH! I'm sorry. How thoughtless of me. I'm Lavy." she held out her hand for him to shake.
Sarah sat there as she watched them talk she was not going to leave. She knew that something was wrong but she wanted to get it out. She told Lavy about how she had changed and now she was going to help her out. It was how they are.
"HOw are you there Aaron."
Aaron took a few steps toward her and shook her hand then took a step back -her name is familiar- he thought to himself "are you the girl who came here a few years ago" he asked her now realizing where he had heard he name before "i'm good, what about you Sarah?" he asked her
"Yeah, the very same. I decided to come back." she smiled at him. Her pocker face was back on.
"Well I'm doing about the usually." Sarah said she knew that Aaron knew about most of her past and not the bank thing though. "Thought I would come hang with friends."
Aaron smiled and leaned up against a wall "I'm glad you came back I've heard some good things about you and your magic" Aaron said to Lavy. Aaron looked at Sarah "thats good" he said and smiled
"so how you and Keke doing." Sarah was trying to not talk about Lavy's pain but she kept looking over there at her.
"were doing good I think" he said he hadn't seen her in a while and was wondering were she was, but he didn't want them to know he was worried or scared so he smiled "I mean were doing great" he said happily
Lavy ignored Sarah's looks, keeping her expression mildly intressted in what was being said but was really screaming inside, trying to stop the voices that were still getting louder. If she oly learned one things from her time away from Hogwarts it was to apper calm at all times, no matter what.
"Who's Keke?"
"That great. I mean i hate it when ya are fighting. Ya are both friends." Sarah smiled at him. Then she moved over.
"Why don't you come sit down."
"KeKe is my girlfriend" he said looking at Lavy then turned toward Sarah and sat down "yeah I hate it when we fight to" he said his smile now weaking
"hey don't stop smiling. I mean that good." Sarah looked at him. "HOw about later we go play with the ballons. I mean it is fun."
Lavy sat back in her chair and listened.
(when you have nothing to say that's what you do with your character)
Aaron's smile came back and this time it wasn't fake. Aaron looked at Sarah and laughed "this time I will duck more" he said feeling his scratch from the last time they played with balloons
"Hey I warned you not my fault that you did not duck." Sarah then looked at Lavy.
"You every through water ballons out the windows."
"Sure, all the time. Mostly in my first three years here but then a bit after that." she shrugged and closed her eyes, "Why?"
"well me and Aaron are thinking about doing it later. I wanted to know if you wanted to do it with us or if you would tell." Sarah looked at her. She was trying to pretend that she knew that Lavy was hurting but was not wanting to pester her.
"that would be fun we can get the balloons and soap out" he said he was smiling just thinking about getting 5 pointers "I know you did but then again I'm not a good listener" he said -when I don't want to be- he mumbled loud enough were he could hear it but he didn't know if they could
Sarah smiled. "I know that you don't want to listen but you learned when you that one hit you."
Lavy sighed, "Enough with the small talk. What do yuo want to know?"
Sarah looked at her. "Who you talking about. I mean I want to know why your not telling me what going on in your mind. I know something going on in that little mind of yours."
Aaron wasn't sure what she meant so he got in his bag and pulled out his red notebook and begin writing about today and the day when they had the balloons
"It's been going on for a few days now. It started right before I came back here. Something is messing with my powers. I can't block out other people's thoughts anymore." She winced. "Like that."
Sarah looked at her. "Lavy why you not tell me I mean come on. You helped me control mine so I would help you do what ever."
Sarah was telling the turth. Lavy and Ginny were the ones that were always there for her and she would be for them.
"I know, but I don't have any idea about what's going on. If I can't even give you an idea about why this is happening I do expect you to be able to help."
Aaron quit writing because he thought about what he was going to say and he didn't think Lavy needed to know so instead he put his notebook up and went and sat down near one of the windows and started drawling the forest and hagrids hut with it's smoke coming out oh the chimney and the trees with the little creature's in them and the night sky well just barely listening to Sarah and Lavy
Sarah looked at her. "I'm not sure but I know I can help by being here for you when your hurting. I can at least to this."
Sarah walked over to her and put a hand on her and started to use some of her power to help calm Lavy. Her hands were glowing white.
"Thank you." Lavy breathed. The voices calmed down. "It's not that I don't trust you. I just don't know what's going on myself."
Aaron looked up in amazment at what Sarah had done he had never seen anything like that before then looked back down at his drawling
She smiled. "Why are you so surprised?" she opened her eyes finally and looked at him.
Sarah looked at LAvy. "You might not know what your going to do. Let in on these things. I mean let it be my turn to help you and try and become my old self again please."
Sarah stood there looking at him. "I have done it before Aaron it not like the frist time."
Lavy shook her head. "I was never a baby for pain but if I let it all in I know I might pass out from the pain. I cant ask you to try and take that on."
Aaron looked up "I've never seen that before" he said than looked back down at his drawling now adding the little creatures that normal people wouldn't see but with his werewolf DNA he had great eyes
Sarah looked at her. "Lavy you know what you said you could not ask me to that that on. You know what you can't make me not take it on. I mean that what friends do."
Sarah sat on the floor next to her. "I mean if I was in the same predicament I would want you to do it even if I said no."
"Yeah but my power are far more devleoped then yours..." Lavy sighed. "I don't doubt your powers at all. I just don't want you to try and help me and end up hurting yourself. I'm not worried about me I'm worried about you."
She rubbed her forehead.
Sarah looked at Lavy. "Why you worried about me. I mean come on I have got away from the ministry once. I can fight for my self."
Sarah wanted her to understand and let her help. "So let me help you and we will get this fight over with."
"I..." Lavy was about to protest but then stopped herself, "Are you sure you want to do this? You can back out anytime."
"I know that. I will not back out either." Sarah said as she looked at her. She was ready to help Lavy how every she needed.
Lavy looked over at Aaron. "Do you want to see something this school will never teach you?"
Aaron was finished with his drawling it came out better then he had expected so he wadded it up and through it away. Aaron looked at Sarah Lavy "um.. sure" he said he was about to leave but he wanted to see this.
"Don't freak out." she turned back to Sarah
"Give me you're hands."
Sarah smiled. "Well okay I might have to hurt you if you hurt me."
Sarah then gave her hands to Lavy.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Lavy voice shook a little bit.
Aaron stood there wondering what Lavy was doing he walked toward the door then stopped and looked back at them and watched
Sarah left her hands in Lavy's hands.
"Come on Lavy you know be better then that. I would not have given you my hands if not."
"Alright." she glanced over at Aaron again, "Ignor the screaming, it's normal i promise."
She closed her eyes and started taking down all the defensive against the thoughts. Before long her mind was filling with thousands of different voices, each one trying to talk over the next. Lavy slid to the floor, shaking, but keeping her mouth shut so that a scream couldn't come out.
Aaron freaked out "wait what is she doing make her stop is she okay" he was talking fast and all his words ran together but he didn't care he was scared for her
Sarah had cleared her mind and sat there holding on the Lavy hands hard giving her the power she need to over come it. In the process thought Sarah was taking over some of Lavy's power and starting to fell the screaming and things in her head to.
"Come on Lavy hang in there."
"It's...o...k... Aaron...I promise..." she manged trying to keep herself calm as more and more voices started entering her mind.
Sarah sat there still holding her hand giving Lavy more of her power. She was starting to get weaker though. SHe was not going to let go though.
Aaron was having a hard time watching this but he couldn't take his eyes off of it it was amazing but terrible at the same time
Lavy started sobbing, "Sarah, let go...it's too much...."
(SO OVER DRAMATIC LOL ::))
Sarah looked at her as she let go. "Lavy you okay." Sarah knew how she felt and was going be there for her all the time.
Aaron stood there for a second then a lot of anger boiled up "why would you do that to yourself" Aaron said not quite yelling at this time he picked up his bag and was about to walk out the door but he wanted an anwser first
Sarah was weak but going too help Lavy though it all. "Aaron you were the one that wanted to see it."
She walked over and wrapped her and around Lavy.
"Well I didn't know what she was going to do" Aaron said calming down just a little
Lavy wiped away the tears on her face and started putting the blocks back up.
"Sometimes you have to do some really painful things in life. Some are mentally painful some emotionally and some are physical. If you have really strong telepathy like us sometimes, most not all the time, it turns physical. It's just better to get it out of the way now then wait weeks. If you wait to long it could kill you."
She wanted to make him understand what was going on, "You may develop telepathy soon and if you do you'll most likely have to do what we just did at some point."
Sarah looked at him.
"Your okay right. " Sarah said looking at Lavy. She could not get the screaming out of her head now.
"I'm hear when ever you need me."
"It's better now. Thank you."
"your welcome. I'm here if you need me." Sarah said as she looked at her.
"I will still be here for you. If you ever need me to do that again I will. Slow little by little I will take on more of it."
Aaron stood there then finally he said "mine isn't that stong I just can read minds andcontrol them if I want" he said quietly feeling bad about getting mad
Lavy let her head fall back onto the chair behind her. "That's pretty good. I'd like to train you if you don't mind. I guess I did pretty good with you." she smiled weakly towards Sarah, "With help from Ginny."
"Aaron don't get mad. I mean you can ask Lavy when I first started out I tried to do to much and almost end up dead." Sarah looked at him knowing what he was thinking by the way he talked.
"Well I mean once you left I never quit praticing I mean you and Ginny taught me all I learned and I was not going to forget it."
"that would be awesome" he said smiling thinking about forming his powers more
"Maybe when I regain conciseness." Lavy closed her eyes and let the blackness engulf her. Her head slumped to the side.
Aaron was so happy he didn't realize what happened then he turned to Sarah "what should we do I can carry her to the hospital wing if I need to" he said
"oh my Lavy." Sarah said as she ran over to her. Sarah then closed her eyes and used her wind element to pick her up and set her on the couch so that she could lay down. Sarah then sat down on the sit where Lavy was watching over her.
"She just tired. I'll watch over her."
(can't talk yet, still passed out)
"um I can get some water" Aaron offered looking at Sarah
Sarah looked at him she was actually scared for Lavy.
"That would be great. I mean I could use something to drink and one with a bowl and rag." Sarah was going to take care of lavy.
Aaron ran to the boys dorm and grabbed a wash bowl a rag and filled it with water he ran down to give the water to Sarah "i'll go get your water" he said running out the door he ran to the pear picture and tickled the pear the houselves all said "hey Aaron" -it wasn't his first time down here he got a glass of water and ran through the door and up the the fat lady said the password and went through the door and walked back over to Sarah "here" he said giving her a glass still full of water "is she going to be alright?" he asked her
Lavy shivered from the dream she was having. Or rather not a dream but something that was very real, going on right now on the other side of the world.
Sarah was sitting there dabbing Lavy's face with the water. "I think she should be. I mean she a fighter just like me."
Sarah then took the glass of water and took a she was glad that the water in the bowl was warm. "I mean she proably just tired. I mean I would be to if I went through everything she did."
Sarah was just tring to keep her body heat up. "You can either is here of go to your room or what ever."
All stay here Aaron saw her shiver and took of his jacket and laid it over her "Sarah whats happening to her" Aaron said sounding like a little kid he was scared for her "is she okay" he asked as he stood next to Lavy
"Aaron to tell you the truth. I'm not sure. I mean I beleive she will but I don't know what her minds doing at the moment." Sarah looked at him she wished that her friend was going to be okay. She wished she knew where Ginny was to she would know what to do.
"I mean she will be okay." Sarah said to make herself beleive it to.
Lavy shivered agains under Aaron's jacket. (Planning on waking up soon I swear)
Ginny materialized behind Sarah, her hair still wet from what had been a shower interuppted. She pushed the dark red hair behind her ears with slight annoyence, "Sarah, when are you going to realize that thinking about me triggers something?"
She looked to the couch where Lavy lay and raised an eyebrow, "What's going on?"
(okay)
Sarah saw this and thought she needed to make her warmer. "Come on Lavy wake up your a fighter."
Sarah said to her under her breathe to where Aaron could not here it. Sarah then used here elemental fire to sort of warm her body up a little.
"I'm not sure. I mean she was hearing voices and hearing screaming in her head. Well then I went to take some of her power's to get rid of the screaming and giving her mine. It was to much for her so I stopped. Then she passed out." Sarah was then starting to get worried.
"Ginny what did I do."
Ginny took the steps across the room slowly, not too worried, "You know how blood transfusions work, Sarah? How some blood types can't give to others and such? Power and magical energy are the same way. Sometimes, too much of a noncompatible power source will over ride yours, causing your body to shut down and repair."
She stood next to the couch, looking down at Lavy, "She'll be okay."
"Ginny why did I do it. I mean I could have killed her right. I mean if you do it will blood that what happens some times." Sarah was know starting to blame herself while she slowly patted Lavy's head. She was going to stay there till she was sure about it.
"I mean she told me not to at first but I said I would do anything to help her." Sarah was still feeling weak from it all but not wanting to give up on her friend.
"You couldn't have killed her Sarah. Even if you had dumped all your power into her, it wouldn't have killed her. You simply aren't powerful enough." Ginny spoke frankly, tilting her head slightly as she spoke. She looked own at Lavy and shrugged lightly, "Lavy is strong, she'll be fine."
Sarah looked at Ginny. She was still blaming herself but she knew at least Lavy was going to be okay.
"What do I need to do. I mean I've been using my power to keep her warm and putting water on her head." Sarah said this as she did both of them again. Sarah knew it was draining her energy though.
(Sorry still looking for the right time to jump back in.)
"You stop. I'll do it." Ginny knelt down, placing a hand on Lavy's forehead and gently sending warmth into her. She didn't put water on her, knowing it defeted the purpose of keeping her warm.
Lavy's eyes opened. Her eyes were darken then usual. She shot straight up and then feel back, "What..." she looked back and forth between them.
"Your mom." Ginny said, grinning like a child. She laughed at her own joke, shaking her head slightly.
"Hi Lavy." She waved her hand slightly and smiled.
Sarah smiled as she saw her wake up. She then looked next to her. "Are you okay."
Sarah was so glad that she is up.
"What went wrong?" All she could remember was the pain.
She didn't return their smiles
Ginny grinned, "Your face." She said, laughing as though it was the funniest joke in the whole world. It wasn't funny, really, but Ginny just liked it for some reason. She shook her head, her laughter dieing.
"Seriously? Sarah here has powers that are not compatable with yours."
((Sorry guys. last post of the night for me.))
Sarah looked at her. "Lavy I don't know what went wrong I'm so sorry though because if I knew this was going to happen I would have never did this."
Sarah was near tears now. "I mean I never wanted to hurt you."
(fine by me I need to get some sleep as well, night)
"Don't be so worried about me. I've had worse. But it's good that you let go. I was seriously about to lose all control."
"it is okay. I mean I would have let go of it as soon as you told me to." Sarah said she looked at her.
"I mean I was just trying to help you get rid of the screaming in your head."
"Don't worry, there's plenty of screaming in my head for everyone." she sighed and closed her eyes. She couldn't fall back to sleep so she just layed there, taking deep breaths and calming the voices.
(you know your on a strange forum and it's normal for people to be talking in your head lol)
Aaron had backed away from Lavy and Sarah when Ginny appeared, but when Ginny had had finished what she was doing he walked back up to them and then saw that Lavy was awake "hey how is she doing?" he asked Sarah or Ginny not wanting bother Lavy right now
((I never left, dude.))
Ginny smiled at Lavy, patting her hand gently as she spoke to Sarah, "Power giving is hard to do. Few people can acomplish it without ssmeone feeling at least weak or sick. Next time, don't do it on your own, ok?"
She glanced at Aaron as he came closer and nodded her head gently, "She'll be fine."
Sarah looked at Lavy then at Ginny. "Okay I promise next time I go to do something like this I will call you."
Sarah knew she would since she was not strong enough to do it on her own.
(hey I fixed it Ginny so that you didn't leave)
"And I won't ever let you do it until your strong." Lavy opened her eyes again. "I'll brave through the pain until Neo or Ginny can come."
She sat up again, slower this time unti she was compley upright. "Thanks Ginny." she wispered, "I owe you one."
Sarah looked at her. "okay well I have to worry know about how I'm going to get stronger."
Sarah looked at both of them her teachers were back and she could not wait to pratice more.
Aaron looked at Lavy and smiled "are you better now?" he asked her than looked at Ginny he couldn't help himself "I'm sorry but how did you do that?" he asked her he was fascinated by all the advanced magic going on around him he felt like a little kid's first time in a candy store. He felt like a like a young child kid asking all these questions but he didn't care he wanted to know
Lavy answered for Ginny, "She used her magic to calm mine. Well...not exactly but that's the best way to describe it. When your powers are getting out of control you'll need to find someone to calm it down so your body can begin repairing itself. It's not that complicated once you know what you're doing...it becomes second nature. Especially in this school. Someone always trys to do too much."
Ginny smiled at Aaron, "It's easy to do, but I don't ever want to catch you trying it. Your power has to be at least equal to that of the person you are calming." Though she was smiling, her voice was firm and serious. She wasn't joking.
"As you can tell I'm getting there but not all the way." Sarah said as she was now sitting on the ground. She was so tired and drained but she was not willing to show it.
"I mean someone could have gotten hurt."
Lavy shook her head in disagreement, "I would have been fine...after a while anyways. And I wouldn't have let it get to the point were you would have gotten hurt. Thay's why I made to let go."
She sighed and swung her legs around so that they touched the floor, "I'll just remember to never give into your demands of trying to help."
Aaron stood there and was thinking about what they had said than looked over at them and sat down on a chair and put his head down and started thinking about how he could make his magic stronger
Lavy heard his thought the moment it entered his mind, "Would you like me to teach you?"
"Ya but you have to admit it did help you out." Sarah was smileing at her friends lavy.
"I will contuine to help you out when ever."
"Only marginally. And I couldn't really enjoy the marginality of it because I was too worried I was hurting you." She shrugged, "You forget I still really worry about you sometimes."
Aaron was kind of stuned that she know what he was thinking until he remembered that it was a common gift and laughed at himself "yeah I would like you to teach me Lavy" he told her
"Lavy is a good teacher, she was a good student too." Ginny winked lightly, standing up and rubbing her eyes tiredly.
"I'm going home now. Be careful you three. Lavy, don't outdo yourself until you rest for a bit." Ginny avoid saying sleep. She knew Lavy had the same affliction many people that had been at Hogwarts those years ago had. Killing people gave you a very bad case of insomnia.
"Oh Lavy quit worrying about me. I mean I'm a big girl now." Sarah knew that it would not help but it was worth a try.
Lavy laughed at all three of them, but she answered Ginny first. "Thanks Ginny. I'll try to get actual sleep though. I think it would be better for me. But you look like you need it more then I do. So go and get out of here." she waved her away.
"well bye there Ginny." Sarah said as she saw that Ginny was really getting ready to leave.
Lavy turned to Sarah then, "And as for you, missy, it doesn't matter how old you get I'm still going to worry about you."
Aaron looked at Ginny "bye Ginny" he told her waving to her
Ginny smiled at the three of them before her image shimmered, fading into thin air without a sound. Not apperation, nor transporting. Whatever it was, it took her away from them and back home to her son and fiance.
"And you." she finally turned her attention to Aaron. "When do you want to get started."
"As soon as we can I mean when your better of course, but as soon as we can" he said to her
"You know what, I think if I'm careful I'll be just fine to start now." Lavy sat down in a chair and pulled out her wand. "Ready when you are." she said crossing her legs.
Aaron took out his wand "im ready" he said sitting across from her
Before he knew what was happening Aaron was pinned up against the wall on the other side of the room. After a few moment the magic stopped and he feel to the ground. Lavy hadn't even moved an inch, her wand on the table next to her.
Aaron couldn't breathe for a minute than looked at Lavy "how did you..." he said in between breaths
Aaron was again slammed up against the wall, but not as hard as before. He slid up it all the way to th ceiling and then was dropped. Just before he hit the ground, however, he stopped. He hovered a few inches off the ground and then Lavy dropped him again.
She still hadn't moved an inch and her wand was still sitting on the table. After a few more minutes Aaron's heavy breathing slowed. Lavy didn't stand up but she looked over at him. She motioned for him to sit back down in the chair in front of her.
Aaron got up slowly and went and sat where Lavy and motioned to "wow that was amazing" he said looking at her " even if it did hurt a little" he mumbled to himself "but how is hurting me teaching me?" he asked her not sure what to think
Lavy shrugged, "You have to always be on your gaurd in life. I teach the same way. During random times when I'm training you I might feel the need to attack you. It will test you ability to hear my thoughts and also to prevent my attacks. I'll try not to ever hurt you but I'll never make promises. This is one of those times when it hurts."
Sarah sat there and laughed. She had put her gaurd up though. "She right if your not on guard anyone can just walk in and hurt you."
Sarah then sat in a chair next to Lavy watching to make sure she did not over do it. "Besides Lavy you might watch over me but I do the same."
Lavy smiled, "The only difference is that I don't need your protection." She turned back to Aaron, "And let me warn you I'm a lot less nice with boys then I am with girls, but that's mostly because they're genearly able to take the phiscal part of it better then girls, not to be sexist or anything."
"I think where I started with you Sarah was the four basic elements, so I think that will be fine for you as well Aaron. Go ahead a put your wand away, it's a crunch that they give us all when we're younger. I'll have to break you of that habit." She added, more to herself then to either of them.
She was silent for a few minutes. She was refocusing her powers so that is more evenly distributed between her mind blocks and just her regular magic. After a few minutes she looked back at him,
"And there's one more thing you should know. Whether your just training or actually fighting you have to learn to remain clam at all times. When you start thinking about to many thing your magic will start 'malfunctioning' and things start happing. You have to be very focused. Do you understand? Because if you don't think you can at least try remaining calm then there's no reason for us to even be working together."
Sarah smiled. "Ya but I will anyways and you know that."
Sarah knew that if Lavy was introuble and said don't help she would anyways.
Aaron nodded his head and set down his wand and listened to Lavy andSarah
"Fire in my opinion in the easiest." she lifted her hand out as if there was something sitting in it, "All you have to do is become it. Picture fire. The color, the way it would move if a breeze came by. Feel the blazing heat, almost like you had just gotten to close but not yet burning yourself.
"Imagine how it would move around you if you were in the middle of it. How it would reach out towards the sky..." as she spoke a tiny orb appeared. It was read and orange and white and blue, just like fire and it began to grow until it was the size of a soccer ball. The orb of fire turned into itself as it swirled around at the same time.
"The trick is imagaining these things all at once and once you have that you're home free." The orb shrunk now and soon they were back in simi-darkness with only the dim light from the candles and lamps around them.
"It will be easier, in the begining to use fire that already exist then to try and create it." she created another orb and then tossed it into the fireplace where it exploded and then caught the wood on fire, "Try and move a small bit of that fire," she said pointing to it.
Aaron looked at the fire and began thinking about moving it and how he could do it he thought about what Lavy had said but it was still pretty hard to think about moveing fire so Aaron just sat there and didn't take his eyes off the fire Aaron than realized he should at least try and with that Aroon closed his eyes briefly and then opened tham and started trying to move the fire.
By the time the fire moved about in inch Aaron stopped and was pretty tired from it he looked at Lavy "did I do okay?" he asked her but was thinking she had had better students who have done wuch better than him
She nodded, pleased, "It very hard at first. Like ridding a bike. You fall off a hundered times until one day you do it. After that you can do it anytime. And once you get the first one the others come easily enough. Do you want to try again or stop or move on?"
"I would like to give it another try if I can" he asked her he wouldn't if she wanted to move along but he wanted to move the fire a little bit more
"Remember what I said. Try and imagine it and it will go a whole lot easier." She feel silent again so that he could consentrate.
Aaron looked at the fire and picture a widefire like one back home only this was controled he looked at it and started moveing it this time was a lot easier and he moved it until he was satifided "how was that" he said happily
She clapped, "We'll try it again soon to see with you've got the hang of it complety. I want to show you what you'll be able to do with fire soon enough."
Lavy stood up slowly, still feeling weak from before. She stood in front of him. She raised both her her hands and two fire orbs appered. They started to grow and soon they where one huge fire ball. But it didn't stop there it englufed them and they where inside the swiling mass of heat. Although they were literally standing in an infurno nothing not even a hair or the floor or the walls were burned. The flames licked at everything but it all refused to catch fire.
Suddenly the flames went out and the room seemed black for a moment while there eyes readjusted. Lavy feel bac into the chair, "It will take a while and a whole lot of magic to get it tht big but once you control it it will be just a few more steps until you can make it grow..."
Aaron looked around and saw nothing at all was burned or burning then he look at Lavy "why didn't it catch anything on fire it is real fire isn't" he asked her he wasn't sure but he didn't like the fact of fire that can burn
"It's real. Very real. One thing I'll teach you is how to do many different spells at once. I created the fire and as it grew I put a spell on everything, inculding us, so that it wouldn't burn."
Aaron got it and then stupid "oh that makes since" he told her and stopped looking around "so what am I to do next
"Let's try water."
"Okay that sounds cool" he said and looked at Lavy
"Ok...so water is a lot like fire. Imagain the coolness of the water and how it makes you feel when you jump in and get wet. See the color and smell the salt. Try and picture what it would look like if it was flowing down a stream."
Again she held out her hand and an orb appered only this one wasn't red and yellow and white. This orb was a sea blue with a hint of green. Like the fire the water swriled around and around
Aaron watched her and paid attention to what she said and thought that water would be easier because he had been raised around water and loved it he saw her being the orb of water out of nowhere and smiled and wanted to learn how to do that
She closed her hand and orb dissappered, "You try it now."
Aaron closed his eyes and thought about the oceans and lakes and about the rain but when he opened his eyes all he had was really wet hands " What did I do wrong?" he asked Lavy
"You weren't focused enough. Really think about the way it would sound or feel or smell."
"Okay" Aaron reclosed his eyes and focused on the water he heard the ocean and smelled the sea salt and felt the water on his hands when he opened his eyes he had an orb of water in his hands it wasn't as big as Lavys but he was happy with it he made it disappear and looked at Lavy "was that okay?" he asked her
"Yes, that's great. I'm going to skip eletricity and wind right now ok. I'm going to teach you to block a simi-powerful spell."
Aaron wasn't sure what to do "Okay" is all he said
"Throw a spell at me. Any spell. First one you can think of."
Aaron could only think of one spell which was one of the ones he hated most but he pulled out his wand and pointed it toward Lavy "Cruico" he shouted
The spell was only a few inches away from her when it suddenly chaged directions. It began to spin around her in an orbit and after a few seconds it fell out of the orbit and it the wall if a tiny puff sound.
Aaron was amazed "How did you do that it was awesome!" Aaron said happily
"It's going to sound really easy but really stopping a powerful spell, or even a simi-powerful spell can take a lot of work. You just have to want to stop it. It's all mental and then it traslate into magic."
Aaron listened for a moment and then smiled "Oh so all I have to do is think about it?" he asked looking at her
"Basically. You'll learn really fast that most of the magic I do is without a wand. That means I'm only going to be using my mind to do spells. Just thinking the word or words will do the trick if there is enough force behind it."
Aaron thought for a moment "oh I get it" he said
