Albus was sitting by the Gryffindor table in the great hall.
His head was resting on his left hand. He had his orange sweater on, and a pair of black jeans.
The great hall was crowded with people and there was lots of sound there. The normal.
He slowly ate some scrambeled eggs along with some bacon. Some people pointed at him and laughed.
He hated it. Since his encounter with Chad had people started to tease him. But it had gone longer than teasing for a long time ago. Now, it was terrible. But Albus had gotten used to it and ignored them.
He finished his meal and quickly drunk a glass of water. He fished up a little note from his pocket, and read it. It contained the schedual for his classes today.
~Yay!~ He thouhgt happily to himself. ~Defence of the dark arts! Ah.... crap... double hour with potions...~ as he continued to talk with himself in his mind.
Sarah had then walked in. She was tired and hungry. Sarah was not like others and able to just teach and roam the halls to see if anyone was breaking rules. She had to do all that plus take care of the hurt animals. She had seen Albus and smiled at him as she walked to the teaching table. She had told any of her students that if they need to talk her just to come to her.
Sarah had become closer friends with all the other teacher which shoked her since she had never really been close to any of then when she was actually going here. Sarah then looked at her plate and settled for wanting a bowl of cereal.
Albus noticed that Sarah entered, and that she smiled to him. He smiled back.
Then he heard some laughing down the table along with some whispering:
" Okay. Listen. I know a really good prank do on Albus. Lets go up in his room and do charms on them so that they will swear when we want them to! C'mon. Lets go while we have time."
Some boys that was two years older then Albus got up and walked out. Albus, who had heard every single word in that conversation, also got up from his chair, and followowed them.
~SO it is THEY who have doing all these pranks..... Revenge is sweet....~ he thouhgt evily to himself.
He continued to follow them. Up all the stairs, into the common room, without being noticed.
He hide behing a couch while he got his invicibility cloak on. He stood up and saw that one guy was watching out. He walked over to him, without a sound, and fished his wand out. " Petrifisus totalis!"
He whispered. He froze and Albus catched him. He also took a silencing charm on him so that he didn't blow Albus's cover. The door was open, and Albus walked in.
The boys had found his clothes, as the one that was the leader said the spell to all of them. When everyone was ready, Albus throwed his cloak on and said evily: " Ehem! What are you doing with my clothes?"
The boys quickly turned around, shocked. The leader boy opened his mouth and shouted to the others: "RUN!!!!"
But before they had reached the door Albus had closed it and freezed it.
" You better stop now!!!! Next time something happens to me I'll know who it is, and I won't take it easy!" Mad.
The boys started laughing. " You? Your just a first grader!" They said.
" If you want trouble here you have some!" Albus said while he raised his hands in combat position.
They only continued to laugh.
Izzy had been sleeping in the girls dorm room. She was running late for breakfast. It was almost over. She grabbed her old tennis sweatshirt, put on a pair of blue jeans and her Nike Jana shoes. She tossed her hair up in to a pony tail and put in some diamond studs. She spashed some water on her face and was just about to brush her teeth when she heard a "RUN!!" from the boys dorm. She ran outside of the room to see what was the matter. Izzy could here Albus say something giving someone else trouble. She coudn't enter the boys dorm so she stood outside and yelled in.
"Hey Albus? Is everything alright in there!?" She waited for his response and took out her wand incase something or someone was in toruble.
Sarah had finished all of her cereal and she then stood up she was going to go to her room and start on the lessons for the others today. She had seen Albus and a group of people leave. She had not thought anything about it since she knew that people got up all the times. Then she thought about all of the stupid things that her friends and her had done. That had been a lot and we had lost quite a bit of points for there house. Sarah then walked into her office and was waiting for any students that need help to come.
"Well this still get wierd. I mean I'm not used to being here yet."
KeKe walked down the staires from the girls dorms in Griffindor and she threw her hair up in a messes bun. She didn't care how she looked today.
Right now she had on a pair of blue jeans and and old T-shirt with a hoddie over it and her pink converse on.
She walked down stairs and then heard dowmbody yell "Run!" and she looked around and saw Albus there and she walked over to him.
"Albus what are you doing?"she asked with her hands on her hips.
Right then she thought about how hungry she was but fist she whould see what was going on.
She new people made fun of him but never saw it get this bad and she thought it didn't need to.
But she just stood there and looked at him.
He was a frist grader she was in her 6th year here.
"Of course you aren't used to it yet." Ginny was leaning against the door frame of Sarah's office, smiling slightly. She wasn't a regular teacher, she had only one class that belonged to her. Today she was substituting for Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Ginny tilted her head slightly at Sarah, "Shouldn't the bell be ringing soon?"
Sarah looked up at her and smiled. "Well I just think that it is strange that I was used to taking care of animals and now I have to put up with kids. It is weird. "
Sarah then stood up and gave Ginny a hug. "I don't know how you do it but however you do it rocks. I think it should be but I don't have any classes this frist period. I mean so I'm not worried about wether or not I'm late."
Sarah had missed working with just animals thought but she knew that this was more important she had walked over and looked at one of the owls that she had normally took care of. It had gotten hurt and found his way here and she could not turn it away so she was keeping it till better here in her office. "Oh by the way how is Cody."
The bell rang. Albus looked up, while the others did the same. He quickly unfroze the door and ran out, with the others not knowing what to do. He didn't know where to go, but then he remembered, his first class was Defence agains the dark arts. He started to run to the classroom. After a little while he was outside the door, before anyone else. ~As every day...~he thought to himself.
Izzy heard the bell ring too. She said "accio DADA books" under her breath. The books flew toward her and she put them under her arms and took off in the direction everyone else had. She was running quickly, but was behind because she had to get her books
"Hey Albus! Wait up!" Izzy yelled running as fast as she could. "What were those kids doing to you?" She asked as she finally caught up with him. She was panting from running so fast.
KeKe grabed her books and ran out the door she went to her first class and ran into the door...."OWwwww"she said to everyone.
Ginny grinned, "Bye Sarah." She managed to say before turning around and walking towards the DADA room. As she got closer she saw the line of students and smiled slightly as she recognized a few of them.
Ginny unlocked the door and stepped aside so the students could go in and sit down.
Sarah smiled as saw Ginny leave. Sarah was going to take this time to walk out to the forest and visit with uni and to take care of any animals that would need her help. She had felt as if that was really where she belonged. She really loved teaching. It was just that she did not feel that any of the students felt the same way she did. Ginny never answer her about Cody. She would have to get with her later on that.
Albus looked at Izzy. " They was planning a pretty pig prank on me..." He said. " Ah crap! I forgot my DADA books.... Can I loan your book for a few seconds?" While he looked at her." Going to use a copying spell."
Ginny opened the door and Albus walked in. He took his normal space, in the back in the classroom, in a corner. He waited for the others to seat and to maybe get Izzy's books.
Ginny overheard Albus and shook her head. Loudly, she said, "Don't bother with your books or notes. I'm going to show you a few tricks you might want to learn."
Ginny had faced death, and dark magic so many times she considered herself an expert on defense.
Albus quickly looked up at Ginny. He knew she had a mysterious past, and that those tricks could be really helpful against Chad. ~This class, you really have to pay attention Albus!~ He thouhgt to himself.
He cleared his mind, and waited for Ginny to start teaching.
"Oh, Well you could of used them if you wanted to" Izzy said as she slid into the seat next to Albus. She hadn't been here when Ginny was as at school, but she had heard about her. Izzy was excited to see her teach.
Ginny's eyes snapped over to Albus, catching his thought easily. Her telepathic powers were far stronger than those of the students, and so every thought they had she could tap into. She waited as everyone settled down, and leaned against the desk at the front of the room. She pulled her wand from her pocket, twirling it in her fingers.
"First of all, I forbid you to use anything I teach you today on another student." She smiled, her eyes shining, "And trust me, you'll want to do as I say."
Jessie was sitting next to Iza, and thought to her sarcastically ~Darn, you would've been good practice for me!~ Jessie smiled, and payed attention to Ginny.
Ginny's eyes lingered on Jessie for a long moment, but she said nothing. She smiled tightly now, "Okay guys, these days, you will often be attacked long before you hear or see your enemy. That's not something anyone can really help. But there is one way to turn the attack around, putting your attacker at the disadvantage."
She grinned, "Always expect to be attacked. That's tip number one. School, home, with your best friends, you boyfriend or girlfriend, always expect to be attacked."
Sarah had decided that she wanted to hear what Ginny had to say to the students so she decided to listen in. Sarah then walked and she stood outside of the door listining. She knew that everything Ginny was saying was ture and that what made Sarah so fasinated to here what else happened.
Psh. shut up! Izzy teased Jessie back, then immeditly focased her attention back onto Ginny. Izzy shivered when Ginny said always expect to be attacked. She had never really thought about being attacked before. Ofcourse she thought about it when she was home alone or walking down a dark ally alone, but never when she was just hanging out with her frieinds. It frightened her a little bit.
Ginny pointed her wand at the board and the tip appeared here, written in small neat script. She looked back at the class, "The next tip is just as simple."
"Know more than how to use a wand. All of you are physically fit, so all of you are capable of this one. Take some martial arts classes...learn how to fight with your fists." She shrugged, "You never know when your wand is going to be stolen, or taken from you."
Ginny got a thoughtful look on her face, 'I remember, once, when I was in my fourth year, some DeathEaters attacked the school. Most of ya'll don't remember DeathEaters...they aren't the danger they used to be. But the attacked, and when I went to help defend, one of them snatched my wand. I had to kick him in the head to get it back." She laughed, lowly.
Jessie smiled at Ginny's story, and wrote down on her 'things to do' list take martial arts classes. She looked around the room slowly, looking everyone over. Was one of these people about to attack her?
Izzy thought Ginny tip about martial arts was good. Although she wasn't going to take any clases. Back at home she had gotten in quite a few fights and she knew how to beat the crap out of somebody.
Jessie thought to Iza, ~Wanna fight after school? For practice of course~ she added, knowing that Ginny had great mind reading skills.
Ginny paused, hearing Jessie's thought. She smiled at the girl, then spoke aloud, "For those of you who want, or need practice in that area, I have second, fourth, and sixth period free. If you want, I'll help you out."
The tip about martial arts appeared on the board, and Ginny stood up, away from the desk now, "Next tip. Always know your limits." She sighed, ''I can't tell you how many people I saw get hurt because they thought they were more powerful than they really were."
Jessie wrote in her notebook learn your limits. She smiled back at Ginny and thought about which period would be best to skip so that she could come to practice with Ginny.
~Want to practise together with Ginny today Jessie?~ He sent to her quickly.
He knew Jessie that well, so he knew that she was thinking about what period she was skipping.
And he had heard Jessie thinking about what to skip.
He raised his hand, wanting to ask a question.
Can i practice too!? I don't really neeeeed it but it might be fun. Since none of us have a sixth period class we could all come down. thought Izzy to Albus and Jessie.
~That would be fun, and your right, we don't have a sixth period class... I had almost forgotten!~ Jessie thought to Albus and Iza. ~And plus, Ginny's a good fighter... fighting her would be better than any class you could take~ Jessie thought to herself.
Ginny smiled, amused by the telepathic conversaion these kids were having. She saw Albus raise his hand and nodded at him, "Gotta question?" She asked, none to elegantly.
Sometimes she spoke just like the most uneducated kid in the school.
" Isn't Hogwarts a safe place? We have the best teachers, top protecting charms! What do we have to fear?!" Albus said. He didn't worry that Hogwarts and he was going to expect being attacked, but he asked the question for the others, and to know Ginny's look on it.
~Okay! lets meet in the great hall.~ He thouhgt to them after he had asked Ginny the question.
Ginny smiled. And her smile was so sweet, it transformed her face, making her look even younger than she already did. Her eyes lit up, and she seemed to glow suddenly, "Good question!" She told Albus warmly.
Right before a knife landed in his desk, buried to the hilt. She was standing over him, her hand on the hilt, and her movements had been so sudden, it had seemed she had apparated. Which was, of course, impossible inside of school grounds. And while Ginny had the ability to transport instantly, she didn't do that either. She had moved, gracefully, quickly, and seemingly instantly. Too fast for the students to follow.
She was still smiling as she slowly pulled the knife out of Albus's desk, showing the full six inches of pure metal.
Ginny agreed with him, "Hogwarts is one of the safest places in the world. You have skilled, protective teachers who will fight to the death to protect you. You have spells all over the place. The creatures in the forest are willing to help you if you are in need. I have never been at a safer place than Hogwarts."
She slowly looked around the room, her smile fading to a solemn look, "But that doesn't mean you are completely safe. Everyone...anyone can be a killer. It doesn't take much to harm someone, and it takes even less if the person doing the harmer wishes to cause pain. Anything can do harm to anyone. No one is immune."
She walked back to the front of the classroom, ignoring the pale faces she passed, "I was in my first year here...when Lord Voldemort...or rather a shadow of him...kidnapped me, intending to steal my life...my soul." Ginny didn't shudder with the memory, but she frowned, deeply, "In my third year, Voldemort's daughter became one of my best friends. Simply because I wanted to be friends with Kiara...I was targeted by Death Eaters and demons alike. In my fourth year at Hogwarts, the best Headmaster we've ever had was killed. Murdered, right here at the school."
She looked out at the students, sadly, "Yes, Hogwarts is the safest place you will ever be. But that doesn't mean you are safe."
Ginny hadn't included her own battles with evil, outside of the school. She hadn't let them in on what gave her nightmares most of the time. And she had refused to tell them about the countless raids Hogwarts had been through. When a person didn't know who was friend and who was enemy. When simply turning a corner could have resulted in your death.
She didn't include her close attempts at suicide. And she didn't include the person that had brought hope into her life. And she didn't include what had resulted from that person, her second source of light in the dark world. The reasons she lived.
No, she figured the tale she had told was bleak enough. Better to save the rest for some pity party when she awoke from nightmares.
Jessie nearly screamed outright at Ginny's dagger show, but instead only a quiet whimper escaped. She thought to Albus ~Sure Great Hall sounds good~ and to herself she thought, ~OK that confirms it.... Ginny is going to be THE BEST teacher EVER.... she has such great ways of explaining things.... even though she nearly made me scream bloody murder.~
Albus screamed when the knife was striked into his desk. He nearly fell of his seat, screaming like a girl.
It felt like his heart had jumped over a beat, now adrenalin going through his blood.
He looked up and saw that nothing had happened.
His cheeks went bloody red of embarrasment, of his girly scream. Quickly, he looked around, nearly everyone staring at him, some laughing or giggeling.
" uhm... uhm..." He mumbeled. Slowly, he tryed to calm himself, and he did it when Ginny was half way through her 'speak'. It was interesting. Albus was also amused by Ginny's teaching ways. It won over the most teachers on Hogwarts. But that was his opinion.
"Ahh" Izzy screamed. She was bad with suprises and it scared the crap out of her. "holy crap" She said under her breath.. her heart was still beating fast and she wasn't sure if she'd ever get it under control with a scare like that.
Now Ginny faced the students, her knife gone from her hands, hidden somewhere. As was her wand no longer in her fingers, hidden somewhere on her person. She folded her arms over her chest, leaning against the wall easily. She smiled again, though. Not as warmly as before, but this time, with sincerity.
"Any more questions?"
Albus looked around if someone had another question. Apparantly none. ~see you there~ he thought to Jessie and waited for Ginny to continue her teaching.
(( How long should a period be??? Should we go over to next class soon? ))
Sarah smiled as she stood at door watching them. She knew that Ginny was great and that she would be able to protect this school. Sarah then felt as if Ginny might have been talking strait to her. Sarah had went through her bad kid stage where she had mastered the art of the Curcio curse.
The bell rang, and Ginny looked upward, shrugging, "Guess we'll save the rest for another time. Bye guys." She waved at them as they filed out of the room, watching them go with a smile.
Sarah walked into the classroom and smiled at Ginny. "so you think that they had learned there leson not to trust everyone."
Jessie walked out into the hall. *Where do we go next?* She asked Albus.
( OKay guys. Now its a double lessons of potions, and I'm going to be the teacher. K? But is it Snape? Or that guy in the sixth and seventh book? If so, someone gonna give me the name! )
Albus fished out his note, and read. " Double period of potions." He said quickly and turned against the way to the basement. He looked at his magical clock that he was wearing on his left arm.
It always knew the position of the sun, and where it was, and then calculated what the clock was.
" Still five minutes till period startes" He continued. His backpack was up in his dorm, and he needed it for potions. He turned around facing Jessie. " Going to get my backpack. See you in five!" As he turned again and started to run up against the common room. There was no one by the stairs, and no one outside the common room. He heard the fat lady say: " Password?" .
He opened his mouth and said the password. She opened and he ran in, up the stairs to his room, into his room, to his bed. He quickly grabbed his backpack and run like he was crazy down to the basement.
If he was late, the teacher would kill him. Whenhe nearly was by the entrance to the classroom, he stopped running and walked slowly.
(I don't know. Why don't you pick! I know one of the names was Slughorn and I'm not sure what the Carrows taught but, one of them could have taught potions in the seventh year.)
Izzy groaned when she heard double potions. She was good at potions, but didn't really care for them at all. She needed her books too, just accio'ed them down. (We can do that right?). She wanted to get rid of her DADA books, but didn't have all the energy she needed to run all the way upstairs! So she turned to Jessies and said "Ready to get this over with?"
Albus walked up to the door, waiting for the others to come. ~Wish someone would come soon...~ He thouhgt to himself. He rested his back on the door looking up at the stone roof.
(( Next period... Not now..... bbbbbbbbbbbbbuuuuuuuuuuutttttttttttt................ NOW!))
The bell rang once again, signaling that it was time to go the classrooms again.
More and more people cam down the stairs, and stood in line in the back of him.
He wondered what Proffesor Slughorn would teach them today.
"uh" Groaned spencer as she darted across the hall way to where a younger boy stood. "I missed first period" She told him and then asked "Did you have DADA this morning with uh.." She looked down at her schedual "....Proffesor Weasly?"
"I missed it too." Darius said, walking up. His blond hair was messy, he had just woken up. For some reason, his alarm didn't go off this morning. He looked at Albus, "Did we miss anything important?"
Albus hadn't seen this people before and was a bit surprised that they just walked to him and started to talk with him! He quickly opened his mouth to answer. " You just missed the best teacher, AND best period!" He said enthusiastic.
Professor Slughorn slowly walked down the stairs to his classroom.
He had his green suit on as usual, with nearly destroyed buttons.
He hadn't changed in years. And he wasn't planning to either! He reached the end of the stair and saw the line of students. " Hello students" He said warm. He walked to the door, and greeted everyone on the way. He then opened the door, moved so they could go in, and said " Chop Chop! Today we're doing much." While he waved his hand in the door.
Albus quickly got in and took his usual spot. In the back of the classroom, in a corner.
He got his backpack onto his desk and got out the things he needed.
"god, i figured i would have." Said Spencer. The professor came and let them into the classroom. "I'm Spencer by the way. Mind if I sit by you? I don't really know anyone here and you seem really cool..."
Izzy and Jessie walked down to the classroom and got there just in time for the door to be open. "Hey albus!" Izzy said. She noticed him in the back of the room with a girl she had only seen once or twice before. She sat down in the seat infront of him and pulled the other chair out intending for Jessie to sit there.
Jessie sat down in front of Spencer and next to Iza. *Hey Spencer!* Jessie whispered. She had seen Spencer around, but didn't know her too well.
"HI! Whats up with you!?" Spencer responded immidetly and over excitededly. She was ready for the lesson to begin. It was her first class at hogworts considering she just switched here and was excited to see how lessons here compared to ones at home.
"Just sit down" He said and pulled the chair out for her.
" Hey Jessie, Hey Izzy!" He said.
" Ahem!" Slughorn said, interrupting their talking. He was looking at them strict, but then changed to a warm friendly look. He whipped his wand and on the blackboard behind him, letters appeared, forming words. Anti werewolf potion, it said. " anyone of you know about this?" He asked and waited for a hand.
"Hey Albus" Izzy said and then when proffesor Slughorn started talking she changed her direction and started paying attention tohim. When he asked the question and wearwolfs Izzy's hand shot straight up into the air. She waited for him to call on her.
Albus saw Izzy's hand flying into the air. He didn't know a thing about it. Never heard of it either.
Slughorn quickly looked at Izzy and nodded.
"Are you, like, talking about wolfsbane or like something that when you were or drink it, it makes them go away?" Izzy asked. She knew stuff about WolfsBane but, hadn't heard of something that got rid of them.
Whats his problem? Spencer askedher self when the boy called Albus was so hostel to her when he pulled the chair out for her. the teacher man talked about some potion but she was off in her own world thinking about her boyfriend.
"GOD" he yelled. A lamp came flying. "JAKE! STOP!" "NO! YOU DON"T LOVE ME!" another object came"YES I DO! BABE! WHY DON"T YOU BELIVE ME?" "BECAUSE YOUR LYING" Another object came but then it hit its intended target. She fell everything going black and her knees buckling.
The girls hand in front of her woke Spencer out of her daydream or rather daymare. "Sh!t" Spencer said under breath. She often fell into these things and that was one of the more pleasent ones.
" I'm talking about the wolfsbane potion. I call it anti werewolf potion, but continue!" As he smiled to her.
Albus looked at Spencer. She seemed do be in her own imagination world.
He looked away, waiting for Izzy to tell more about this potion. While he waited he got his book up, and got to a page where it said: Wolfs bane potion. He quickly scummed it, and then looked forward again.
"Oh alright well.." Izzy launched into a memorized monolgue from a website in the muggle world "The Wolfsbane Potion is an innovative and complex potion that relieves, but does not cure, the symptoms of, um, werewolfness. Basically main ingredient is wolfsbane, which is also nicknamed as Aconite or Monkshood. It was invented by Damocles Belby, the uncle of Marcus Belby.
If the affected individual drinks the potion at full moon, they will transform only into a normal wolf and retain control over their actions, rather than making the full transformation into a werewolf. It is a complicated recipe and must be imbibed once per day in the week leading up to the full moon. Also said to be really gross tasting." She smiled and was proud of herself for memorizing the whole thing.
"Holy Crap!" Spencer accedently said outloud. "Opps,, Uh sorry.. uh..." Spencer looked down. She had been so suprised at Izzy's little speech. Izzy had really known what she was talking about. It was nuts. Good Job Spencer thought to Izzy and then yawned a little forgeting totally about the earlier memorie
" Good. Good." He said while he continue to smile. He looked over the whole class while he heard a 'holy crap' He just ignored it. " Today," he said while he walked back and forth by his table, " We are going to try to make it. I do not expect that you are going to make it properly.
This is just going to be a little 'test'. So don't be disappointed if it goes wrong."
Albus took his ingredient set out, and scummed the recipe in the book.
Spencer got out her ingredents. She set down her dyed pink caulden. She opened her copy of Advanced Potion Making and asked "So can we, like, start now?"
" just start" He said and looked over the class.
Albus started. He put all the ingredients in the exact order. It changed color sometimes when he put some things in, and after a while, it started to smell horrible. He coughed a bit and continued to make the potion. It was bubbeling slowly, and the color was now deep blue.
He looked in his book, and it should be like that now. But when he put the wolfsbane in, he was shocked. It totally changed color, to orange, then to blue again, and then to grey. And it stopped smelling. Something had gone wrong and he knew it. But he didn't know what.
He looked at the others around him, wanting some help.
(('Cause I'm bored. :) ))
Ginny was suddenly behind Albus, looking over his shoulder, "Having a tough time?" She asked softly. She smiled, even though her face was slightly pale. Her hair, which had been down the period before was now pulled back, away from her face. She nodded towards Albus' potion.
"Is it supposed to be gray?" Ginny asked. She glanced around, locating Slughorn and leaving it at that. She had come to see him, and would. Just after she stopped talking to Albus.
" No. It should have been light purple. I did everything in the exact right order! Why did it go wrong?" He said, frustrated. He didn't like making mistakes in the classes he was in. Always, he'd get frustrated and irritated.
Slughorn noticed Ginny entering the room while he helped a student. He nodded towards her, greeting her with a smile. He continued helping the student, who hadn't understood the recipe.
He explained it to him twice. THen he stood there waiting. First, he wanted to watch over the student and give him some extra help, and waiting for Ginny to talk with him. He really didn't speak much with her, and now that she was comming into one of his classes, he knew she wanted to say something to him. So, he watched the student and gave him some advices along the way.
Izzy started on her potion. From expirences in her earlyier life she had already made wolfsbane. She had failed it miserbly before, but a while ago she finaly got it right. She set up to do just like she normally did. She added her ingredents and stired and smelt and added more ingrendents. After a while her potion was done. It wasn't her best Wolfsbane, but atleast she hadn't failed completly.
"Having Some trouble?" She asked Albus. Ginny seemed to be helping him and she knew that Ginny could teach him better than she could. "Don't worry about it, when i first started making it I screwed up all the time." Izzy said trying to comfort him as she could tell he was troubled.
"Here, add some of this." Ginny suggested, handing Albus a small vial of green sludge from the cabnit in the cornor, "It should help."
She looked up at Slughorn and smiled. He hardly knew her, had been her last potions teacher years before. She doubted he remembered, because she had only come to two classes. But she wanted him to make a potion for her.
"Professor Slughorn? A word please?"
Albus took the vial and looked at Ginny. " Thanks!" Now, his frustration was away.
He put some of the green sludge into his potion and it went purple. Not light purple but a more darker version. " Thanks Izzy." He said while looking at her. Now, he looked over the recipe, and found out that it was finished. He looked over the rest of the class, some finished, and some that still was working.
Slughorn heard Ginny's voice and turned to her. " Of course." He said and walked towards her. " Be quiet here while I have a word with Proffesor Ginny." While he looked strict over his class.
He opened the classroom door, and walked out. He waited for Ginny to come out.
Spencer had started on her potion. She had never made one before, but it seemed to be going pretty well. She was just about finshed when her's changed green like Albus's. "Hey Proffesor Weasly? Do you have anymore of that stuff? Mine did the same!"
" I didn't use all of my!" Albus said and shaked the vial infront of her. It was half filled.
" JUst take the rest of it in." he said and gave the vial to her.
"Thanks!" Spencer said. She dumped it in and stired. Hers also went purple. She glanced at the recipe and then asked Prof. Slughorn "So what doya want us to do with this when were done?"
Jessie opened her book and read the recipe. She put the ingredients in her cauldron and then stirred it twice to the right, three times to the left, and once more to the right. The recipe was a very deep purple. She had seen Iza make it a couple of times and so she added vinegar to thin out the recipe to a lighter purple. It smelled horrible. She stirred it a few more times, and it started turning blue. *No! No! Don't turn blue! It was perfect! Aw come on!* Jessie said as her potion began changing colors like a rainbow.
(( Slughorn is outside the classroom now!))
" Calm down Jessie!" Albus said and smiled." Think basic potionry. The opposite of a substance!
What substance neutralises vinegar?" He said to her. He was a little surprised that he had come up with it. Now, he just hoped it would work.
Outside of the room, Ginny smiled at Slughorn, "Horace, I was wondering if you'd make a potion for me? I haven't the time. Not only that, I have a small child at home. I can't be making potions and chance having an accident happen with him, you know?"
Ginny was good at potion making. She'd had to be when she was younger, during her healer days. But she couldn't these days for many reasons.
" Of course Ginny!" He said and smiled. " I havn't got children myself so I've never met that problem!" As he chuckeled a bit." What potion then?" Nearly no potion was a problem for him.
Ginny smiled again, this time apprehensively, "It's an easy one. I'm sure you've heard of it. Veritaserum, the truth potion."
Why she wanted it, she didn't even hint to. But the potion took about a month to make, so whatever she needed it for was a month or so away.
"Oh, and another one. The Dreamless Sleep potion. I know both of them are advanced, Horace, and I know both are extraordinarily controversial. But I need them."
Jessie was quickly hurtling through the stages of freaking out. *I...I.... I don't know.... water? That neutralizes everything pretty much....* She said watching her potion nervously. She stirred it quickly because it was starting to boil.
" It's water! put it in, but not to much!" Albus said quickly.
Slughorn wondered why Ginny wanted these potions. " I can give you the veritaserum in..... About two hours. I always have some vials of it in case it is needed. And I'll give you the dreamless sleep potion then too. Okay for you?" He asked and smiled. He was really curious but he tryed to hide it by smiling warm. " I have to go into class again. Good bye Ginny!" He walked inside the classroom and forward to the blacktable. " Those who are finished, put up your hands.
Albus's hand got ip in the air faster than anyone. He looked around noticing that more than the half of the class was done. Some's potions was grey, someones blue and many other colors.
Izzy put her hand up in the air too. She leaned back on her chair and watched her potion bubble.
Spencer put her hand up in the air and looked over at Albus's potion. "Looks like you did a good job! Congrats!"
" You too! Congrats to ya self!" Albus said.
" OKay. you have a quarter left now. So those who arn't finished should hurry up."
While he looked strict over the class. " Those who are finished, take a vial and put some of your potion up into it." He said while he waited for half the class to come up.
Albus took the green sludge vial, and cleaned it. Then he filled it to the top, and closed it with a piece of ice that he had made. He went up to the blackboard and put his potion on the desk.
Izzy dug in her bag for a vile. She brought one out and dipped it into the potion. She put some wax in the top of the vile and then stuck it under the couldren for a second to melt the wax. Then she put the vile on Slughorns desk. "Sir, Are we done for today? May I pack up my things?" She asked.
" Yes dear." He said and smiled. Quickly he got up on his feets and said to the class," When you have given me the potions, you can go." He sat down, and inspected the potions.
Albus heard Slughorn and started to pack his stuffs down. ~finally lunch! I'm starving!~
He got his backpack on his back and went out and up the stairs, heading for the great hall.
The smell of scrambeled eggs, and fresh, new bread reached his nose.
He felt that he couldn't wait so he sped up his pace a bit.
((I like to pop in now and then...))
Ginny stood outside of the Great Hall, watching as students filed in. Someone had decided to get her to make sure no fights broke out in the hallway. Mostly, she was ideal for the job because any sane students were afraid of her. She saw Albus coming up and smiled to herself. She couldn't help it, the boy was a good kid.
Izzy quickly packed up for lunch. She left a few paces behind Albus. She could smell food too, but wasn't very hungry. Mostly she was just excited to socialize for a bit.
Albus didn't notice Ginny so he kept walking. He quickly got inside and sat down by the Gryffindor table.
He took some scrambeled eggs, and some fresh bread. Quickly, he cooled down the food.
It was to hot for him now. He quickly started to eat, drinking his share of water.
He wanted to finish fast so that he could relax a bit in the forest.
Izzy went in and sat down next to Albus. By the time she had filled her plate with food he was already finshed. "I can tell your in a hurry" She said. "Whats the rush?" Most people here at Hogwarts could read minds but she could only read thoughts if they were directed towards her so she had no idea why he was so fast today!
" I'm going into the forest to relax!" While he stuffed his mouth full.
He got on his feet and walked out. " Bye " He said while he walked backwards.
Then he turned and walked out. Quickly he ran out and he was headed for the forest. In a minute, he was there. It was a lot more cold there than out in the sun. He sat down on the ground, and leaned his back on the big tree behind him that was blocking the sun.
"Oh Alright.." Said Izzy. She watch him go. She figured if he wanted her to come with he would have asked. She continued eating her food and began craving a strawberry.
Spendcer finshed putting her potion in the vial and climbed the dungeon stairs to where the GreatHall. She sat down next to Izzy and said "Hows it going?"
"Pretty good." Izzy said and kept eating she finshed her bite and asked Spencer "How about you?"
Albus thouhgt it was hot, so he made a layer of ice around his body.
It was thin but cold. He made a hole with his mouth. It really relaxed him and he wondered why he didn't have done this before. Out from the forest he heard sounds of animals. Up from the sky, birds sang beatiful tones while the nature was slowly resurrected again from the cold and harsh winter.
Jessie poured in just a tiny bit of water, and watched her potion change to a milky white and then hardly tint purple. She quickly dug out a vial and filled it to the brim, closed it and placed it on the teachers desk before sprinting up to lunch.
