Megan was just in the commonroom sitting in frount of the fire looking at it. She was thinking about alot of things right now. She didn't know what though. She looked around then back at the fire and then she got up and went over and sat on the couch and pulled her knees up to her stoumch and hugged them.
Alexis walked back from getting something to eat. She stood in front of the Gryffindor statue and said the familiar words. The door opened and she walked inside. She noticed Megan sitting on the couch. She walked over there and sat beside her. "Something wrong?"
She looked at her.."Hey Lexi..and no I am just bored."she said to her and smiled.
"Oh" she said. "Well what would make you not bored?" Alexis asked trying to cheer Megan up.
She sat up.."I do not know that one."she said to her and smiled a little bit."Maybe seeing Alex..he is a really good friend."she said again.
"Well why don't we go find him" she said. She got up and grabbed Megan's hand and pulled her off the couch. "Do you know where hes at?"
She looked at her.."Umm no."she said to her as she got up.
Alexis thought. "What house is he in?"
"This house."she said to her
"Oh" Alexis said. "Well maybe we'll see him around or something... I dunno" she sat back down on the couch and sighed.
She sat down on the floor were she always sat.."Yeah maybe."she said to her.
Alex walked into the common room from detention. "Hey Megan. Hey Lexi. What are you guys up to?" He asked trying to sound as cheerful as possible as he dropped his heavy bookbag onto the sofa making a loud vibrating noise.
She looked up at him and smiled..."Oh nothing bored....you?" she said to him as she then out of no where had a candy cane in her mouth.
"Lots and lots of homework...." He sighed and took out his big book of Magical Creatures and picking one to do a report on.
She looked at him.."Oh that stuff was easy...I got it done in 30 minutes."she said to him.
Goblet walked down the Gryffindor stair steps. He was feeling quite all right today after deciding to a bit more apathetic towards needless worries and concerns and start conversing.
"Oh, new people! Or rather... new to me," he said to himself as he saw two girls and a boy in conversation.
He walked over to them. "Hello, fellows. I hope I am not intruding on any business in the middle of your discussion, but if so, please pardon my straight-forwardness. I just deeply would like to say hi to some unfamiliar faces after abandoning my physical but mostly mental and emotional seclusion!" said Goblet with somewhat of a blind optimism. "My name is Keith, but people usually refer to and call me Goblet."
She trund around..."Hello I am Megan, Megan Cullen."she said to him.
"Greetings Megan. I certainly hope you three were not in a serious conversation and rather were in more along the lines of casual everyday small talk," said Goblet with a smile. "Would anyone mind that I take a sit-down and join in? That is of course, if you three were not discussing private matters?"
"Yeah you can..."she said to him and then took a step back away from him..
(lol)
(This thread didn't appear on the new replies for some reason.)
"Oh good! Although I must apologize for my bluntness. I haven't spoken to directly to people lately for quite awhile."
Goblet dropped his body on the chair closest to the window and comfortably sighed as the sun's warm magnified rays fell over him. "So!" he said, sitting straight up. "Megan, do you have a story to tell? Or is that for another time? Or are there more pressing matters at hand?"
She looked at him..."I will bite you....just kidding...but I do bite."she said to him..she then put Alex in frount on her..this one guy kida scared her.
"Umm no..you?"she said to him.
"Uhhh, I have seem to have instigated a negative response here. You have confirmed that you bite, but uh, do you do so as a desperate act of defense or as a effective act of offense? Because we all bite... sometime or another... food, and... what not.... Or perhaps, er, you have contracted vampirism? or something or the sort?" said Goblet, drifting in and out as he spoke.
Man, I certainly have been away for awhile, he thought.
"Hello Goblet or Keith...don't know what to call you. The name is Alex Potter." He said sticking his hand out to shake.
((what's with the randomness Goblet...lol))
She looked at Alex..."Alex...."she said to him becuase Alex and Billie were the only ones that knew she was a vampier.
"Oh yes! You can call me Goblet." Goblet stood up to shake Alex's hand, he did, then he sat right back down. "How do you do for this day? Is it a good one at least, sir Alex?"
(Call it the blind optimism of the character after being away for awhile, which results in his lack of social skills.)
She looked at him..."You are werid."she said to him .
He said slightly chuckling. "Yes wonderful day....I just need to do some homework and Megan needs to help me with it."
((changing the subject...best I can do....lol....yes he is weird))
"Yeah homework....okay..."she said to him and smiled then snaped out of her daze.
(Remember, lack of social skills.)
All Goblet heard was, "You are weird."
Goblet determined to answer, in just some way. "Oh? Sorry about that. I guess I was intruding on something. I'll go, if any of you must insist on it. There are other people I can talk to. I just have to meet them first, then I can join them in their games. Is my presence perhaps disturbing in a hostile way? Do you need me to go?"
"What animal should I choose to write about?" He flipped through the big book lazily.
She looked at him.."Yeah you can stay as long as you aren't all freaky..and don't get close to me."she said taking Alexs book from him then laying donw on her back and looking at it then at Alex and she smiled.
"Yeah trust me when I'm frustrated...you don't want to get close to me." He told Goblet jokingly.
She looked at Alex..."Its okay...we all have problems Alex."she said to him then looked threw his book...."Umm how about a Werewolf."she said to him.
"A werewolf...are you sure....I mean are you sure you know alot of information about werewolves. Hagrid gave the class three pages to write about." He said.
"Okay then. I will just respect all of your proximities and sit here. I'm sure that will be just fine as I abide to your unfamiliar social rules, of which I think I will need to relearn," said Goblet happily. "And if I get 'freaky,' just say the word and I'll stop every single thing I'm doing."
"Yeah I do.well some then the rest...well we will go the somewhere."she said to him.
She then looked at Goblet.."okie dokie."she said to him.
Alex nodded. "Where are we going?"
"I don't know yet...but we will do something later...we need to go out.."she said to him then relized how that sounded..."Well not like that I mean I whould but you know what...as friends.."she said to him then put her face in the book.
((lol...hey then where am I supposed to put my face in....lol....joking))
Alex nodded and nervously chuckled. "Yes I know....as friends....."
"Yes! And I'll come to! Or wait... no, I won't go. I think... that it would be better that you two should go alone... as 'friends,'" said Goblet, who stopped short of a hysterical laugh and just chuckled instead.
Alex looked embarrassed and said,"If you want to come you can come......."
"No, no, no! That's quite all right. I do not think I have the earned the privilege or title of friend yet, or even with anybody else. But that could take quite awhile. You two should just go enjoy yourselves while you just refer to me as a mere afterthought during your time."
Alex slightly chuckled. "If you insist then....."
She looked at them..."YOu guys have some guy time I ummmm."she said as she got up and started to run.
"What is your urgency, young Megan!?" called out Goblet. "Did you just remember something that needed to be heeded? Because I do say say that this fleeing is rather abrupt!"
She looked at him then looked back...."I don't know...Goblet...I really want to hurt you right now..and there is no need to stay because Alex doesn't like me...sooo yeah."she said to him.
"I will not turn a blind eye to your hostility, Megan! But nor will I engage it with an aggressive force! And to which I will instead ask to why you are revealing to me your negative desire," said Goblet, somehow still smiling. "So what oh what could make you want to inflict harm upon me?"
"I don't know what you are talking about, nor do I like you. You come one like someone died, and what is with the small talk?"
"It seems that you are just as confused as I am. Please elaborate upon what you mean," said Goblet. "Nobody has died, or none that I know of. Because if so, the news has not reached me yet. And I presume that I am just talking and making conversation, or do you call it something else what I am doing?"
"What is with the old mid evil talk?"she said to him.
"Well, that's just me. There are many things that are worth saying. Why do you talk in such simple and short sentences?" asked Goblet.
"I'm going after her. I'll see you around then Goblet." What's wrong....why'd you leave me with the weird dude....?" He sent to Megan after waving a quick bye to Goblet running after Megan.
((no offense Goblet....lol))
She looked at him..."Alex Potter!!...stay!"she said to him.
"Why I don't want to!" He said back to her slightly raising his voice.
She looked at him then turnd away from him, she had never raised his voise at her before..."Well...great now you hate me...I mean you didn't like me already."she said to him.
Alex reached out to her and softly said,"Sorry....I just want to follow you wherever you go...."
She pulled back from him...."Why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"she said to him mad now..
"WHY WHY WHY WHY WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!"
Alex looked confused now. "Why what....I don't get what you're trying to say..."
She pushed him away..."Ugh."she said then walked off.
Alex tried to hide how hurt he felt. Should I go after her?
She just kept on walking and then picked up a rock and crushed it in her hands.
Alex stared at the rock that had suddenly turned into ashes in a flash. He was scared to approach her because he had never seen her this angry. "Megan please don't be mad at me....I just have problems with my heart and words!" He shouted after her.
She looked back at him...."I am not mad...I just I just .."she said.
Alex waited for her to finish her sentence. He felt giddy inside that Megan wasn't mad at him.
"UGH!!"she said as she sat on the ground and looked up at the sky.
(I don't take offense from RP. Just only if you are just acting crazy for no reason.)
(And I assuming that Alexis has abandoned this thread. If I am wrong, Alexis, then feel free to chime in then I'll render the rest of this post obsolete.)
Goblet was sitting alone now. Everyone seemed reasonably happy when he joined in but they ran out with a tensioned relationship. This couldn't be a normal occurrence. Goblet couldn't help but think that he possibly have caused this disruption.
Well then, he thought. Perhaps I shouldn't be so outgoing.
Goblet took the jug from the windowsill and poured himself some water. I'll just leave them be. Yep. Just should probably calm down and just sit for a little bit.
(Ill join. But I didnt want to get involved with Megan and Alex's moment thing. I didnt want to mess it up or anything...)
Alexis looked at Megan and Alex who left then to Goblet. "Something wrong?" she asked as she walked over to him.
(I wonder if two different events can take place in the same thread? Hmm.... If not, we can just make another one I guess.)
"Oh nothing. I am just wondering if my joining in was... untimely. Do you think that it was? Or did I misjudge and they actually suffer their personal tensions often?" asked Goblet.
(I'm not sure. Might just have to make another one, I dunno)
"It happens alot, I usually don't try to get involved." Alexis said as she pulled out a chair and sat down. "Most of the time I dont even know whats going on"
"Right. That's actually comforting what you said there. Maybe I am not a social disturbance." Goblet took a swig of water. "You don't think I came off as unpleasant entering in the conversation, do you?"
"No, you didn't" Alexis said as she looked at Goblet. She rolled up her sleeves a little on her hoodie and fixed her armwarmers. "How long have you been at Hogwarts?" she asked casually.
((you guys can continue here....it doesn't matter for me anyway...))

"UGH!!"she said as she sat on the ground and looked up at the sky.
Alex ran over to where Megan was sitting.
"Oh I have been here seven years, so this is my 7th year. Although that is how long I have actually been enrolled here, one could say that I haven't exactly been around... here, that long. What about you, Alexis?" asked Goblet.
She just laid there and looked up."What."she said.

"Oh I have been here seven years, so this is my 7th year. Although that is how long I have actually been enrolled here, one could say that I haven't exactly been around... here, that long. What about you, Alexis?" asked Goblet.
"I've been her for about 6 years. Not that long..." Alexis said as she looked at him. She looked at the ground, not sure what else to say.
"You just look so adorable sitting there." He said smiling looking down at her.
"Right," said Goblet as he took another swig of water. "Uhm, are there any events as of late that we can enter into conversation?"
"Not anything I can think of. What about you, heard anything?" Alexis asked casually.
"No... no I have not," said Goblet. "So Alexis, how is life treating you as of late?"
"Actually pretty good. Better since I left home. It wasn't so great the last time I was there" Alexis said as she looked at the ground, seemingly to be off in her own world. Then she snapped back into it. "How has it been for you?" she asked, paying her attention to him.
"Oh I have my ups and my downs. I just decided to calm down a bit... and I did. So now I'm here, meeting people who I should have met a long time ago since they were always here, but I didn't bother to meet them. So yeah, life is treating me quite all right at the moment," said Goblet.
He took another drink and wondered what else to talk about. "So Alexis... what's your story?"
Alexis nodded in understanding as Goblet finished, then she replied to his next question. "Well, nothing special... I had 5 brothers and sisters and my parents spit up when I was 6. When I found out I was a witch my mom thought I was crazy and took me to a doctor. I don't really like to talk about that part." she said, remembering. Alexis continued "A few other things too, but I don't like talking about that stuff either. But otherwise thats pretty much it" she said.
"So not exactly a good childhood? Mine for the most part was normal and typical. Though my parents and my brother all split through events that were most... unfortunate. I do not know if my parents are still together, literally or marital-wise, but I hope it's both. I know my brother can handle himself, and he seems to pop in whenever he feels appropriate. I still don't know him as well as I used to. But I do have cousins who I keep in touch with, though we mostly have a business relationship, in which I deal in collecting bounties. Yet, I still manage to keep with my studies," said Goblet with a small laugh.
"Well that doesn't sound to bad, nothing over tramatical or anything. Well except the thing about not knowing if your parents are together or not." Alexis said to him. "I guess no ones parents are perfect..." she said with a sigh. She began to play with the small black ring that was on her finger, obviously she was deep in thought.
"Something troubling you?" asked Goblet, eying the black ring. "And is there a history behind that ring? Or are either of those things something you do not wish to discuss?"
"Oh, no history or anything" Alexis said as she put the ring back on her finger. "Just thinking about home. And what went on there. In a way I miss being home... its kinda odd...I don't even know why." She said with a small laugh that quickly faded.
"It's only natural to miss home. If it's a place you love to stay with people who you love, then why on earth wouldn't you miss it? I myself, do not have a home. Though I understand its value, I do not think I have truly comprehended it yet, therefore it is not something that I have learned to miss."
"Yeah but its not a place where I love to stay." Alexis said then she looked up at him. "You don't have a home?" She felt foolish now for complaining about her home. He didn't even know what it felt like to have a home. "I'm sorry" Alexis said
"Oh don't pity me! I have a place to stay. It's not like I live on the street. I know the concept of a 'home' is something that many people value, but it is something I do not miss. So I say that your situation with your home is much more greater and deserving of pity than mine," said Goblet.
"Oh" Alexis said, understanding.. "Sorry, I misunderstood" she said. She looked at Goblet and asked "What was your home like...if you don't mind me asking.." She rolled down her sleeves on her hoodie because it was kinda cold in the common room.
"Oh it was nothing extraordinary. I'm sure that we would be considered a normal family. There wasn't anything that you could find in our family that you couldn't find in others. Despite us not getting along sometimes, we did participate in activities together. It was nice. They, my family, were certainly nice people," said Goblet. He had a flashback to the layout of their house, and the people who could always be seen around particular objects.
"Unfortunately, the good will I saw in my parents didn't reflect what they do in the outside world which unfortunately led to circumstances that required us to split up. Although I am not as traumatized as I used to be, I still love my family. And although I haven't seen my parents since we split, I will not rule out the possibility that I will see them again. My brother, whenever the hell he shows up, assures me upon his life that mom and dad are alive, but tells me not to look for them," said Goblet. He took another swig of water. "My brother, crazy guy."
"Your brother doesn't want you to look for them?" Alexis asked, slightly confused. "Sorry for asking all these personal questions about your family" she said, thinking it was rude of her to do so.
"I don't label you as anything for being curious. Had I objected, I would not have answered. Actually, I'm glad that someone pays interest," said Goblet. It was strange. He forgot how great his house and family were until Alexis asked about it. "Although," began Goblet, "forgive me if I delve too deep into unpleasant and personal matters when I ask this, but what was your family like?"
"Well I don't know much about my dad or my four brothers. Since me and my younger sister moved in with my mom, we never heard from them. However from what I hear, my dad is a pretty good guy. My mom on the otherhand, shes an entirely different story." Alexis paused before she continued "I don't think she liked me very much. She always thought I was some crazy lunatic, and for a while I started to believe her. But that's an entirely different story..."
"When I found out that I was a witch it just made things worse when I told her. But at least I moved here, so I won't have to deal with her..."
"Why do you and your sister only live with your mother? Is there any reason that your family is seemingly split in two?" asked Goblet, really hoping that he isn't asking the questions the wrong way.
"I was never really told why my parents split up. But my brothers wanted to live with my dad and my sister wanted to stay with my mom. Me and my sister were real close, so I wanted to go with her." Alexis said as she looked at Goblet. She was glad to tell all of this to someone.
"Hmm. Is that so? Where is your sister now? Does she go to this school or has she already graduated?"
"Shes 14 now. But she isn't a witch like me. Shes the only reason I miss home, but oh well." Alexis said.
"Too bad. What is it about your mother that makes you feel the way you do?" asked Goblet.
"Just the way she acted towards me. Hateful and all. It was kinda obvious that she did hate me. We always fought." Alexis replied.
"So you two always fought, but I wonder, do you think she views you as a burden? Or rather... do you think she loves you at all?" asked Goblet.
Alexis thought for a moment. "I don't know actually. She never said she loved me, never acted like she did either. But who knows..." she said with a sigh.
"You could be surprised how such a mean woman could have so much caring on the inside. But then again, one could be surprised by how much hate and contempt a mother can have for her child," said Goblet said with a sigh. "Don't know how my mother views me right now, but I am looking forward to finding out someday," said Goblet, who did a mixture of a laugh and a sigh. He looked at Alexis and referred to the jug. "You want some water?"
"I guess neither of us will never know what our moms think of us.." Alexis said with another small sigh. She looked at him then the water "Sure, thank you." She looked at her ring again and began to fidget with it again
Goblet took a glass, filled it with water and gave it to Alexis. "Anything special about your brothers that is worth mentioning?"
"Thanks" She said as she took the glass and drank a sip of it. "No, not really. I don't know much about them. What about your siblings?"
(I don't think I have enough energy to make another post. It's 1:51 and I am tired. It has been nice RPing with you so, I'll respond with the next RP post literally later today, since it is already Wednesday. Heh. Talk to you later.)
(Hehe okay. See ya =P)
She looked at him.."You can be so funny."she said laughing.
"I only have just the one sibling, which is my older brother. He was what we would call normal before the family tore apart. We fought, we had fun, we were partners, that sort of thing. I was barely out of my first year at Hogwarts until the family split up, which completely changed him. I don't see him very often. He sorta shows up out of nowhere to visit, which is usually at a time when I am preoccupied with important things. He also is much less cheery and more disquieted than he used to be. He also is very obscure about things so I don't know what business he is in, what he does to take care of himself, the people he might know, hell, I don't even know what his interests are. I have absolutely no idea why or how he changed into a different person so instantly. I just know that he is a guy that is able to take care of himself really well," said Goblet. He took another swig of from his glass and filled it back up with water. "It boggles the mind."
"So he changed when your family spilt up" Alexis recalled. She looked down at her drink before she continued "Its funny how when parents do one thing, it affects the whole family. And in this case it didn't sound like a good thing... Why do you think when your family split up he changed?"
"I don't quite know. I think with him being older and feeling the impact of our situation much more directly than a young person would, then his personality and mood may have changed so that he would uh, build a stronger wall to the outside world so to speak. Also seeing as how vague his speech is when I ask about how he is doing, I think he is up to some fishy business. Knowing him as little as I do now, I do not think it is anything illegal. But I do say that he is up to something. Since I was young and carefree back then, I could learn to cope with tragic things better than him, which is why you don't see me NOT talking with people. You know? He is an excellent wizard, but I don't think he has any friends besides me, if you could call me a friend to him," said Goblet.
"oh.." Alexis said. "Well at least he isn't a bad person" she said awkwardly saying the first thing that came to her mind. She looked down at the ground then back at him "Well y'all must be pretty close if he considers you as a friend."
"Not really. I don't know who he considers a friend. I literally think he has forgotten the meaning of the word. If he has other friends and I am considered a friend, how does he treat them?" said Goblet with a slight laugh. "Anyone who listens to him for more than a few minutes probably gets weirded out or too angry to continue in conversation."
Alexis smiled and laugh at what Goblet said. She took a drink of her water "Why doesn't he come to school here?" she asked.
"He did. He is too old now. He is in his early 20's right about now," said Goblet. He took a big gulp from his glass water. "So, I've told you about my brother. I would like to know about your siblings."
(I'll retire for the night. I'm going to go watch a movie. Talk to you later.)
"Well I don't know much about my brothers. And my sister, shes just an annoying 14 year old. But hey, theres little sisters for ya" Alexis said as she smiled slightly. She sat her drink on the table.

((Waiting for Alex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!))
"Yeah I think I'm hilarious sometimes as well?" He said half-asking confused.
"Is there anything about your family that you wouldn't mind elaborating on?"
"Well everyone except my sister, I prefer not to think about" She said truthfully. Alexis looked at him "Its funny how we just met and we are telling each other our life stories" she said while she chuckled slightly.
"Yes, I do say that is rather uncommon for that kind of socialism on the first day of greetings. But I do very much enjoy talking with you. And I do hope we can continue talking, unless you need to retire or keep an appointment?"
"I enjoy talking to you too." she said. Alexis looked up at the clock on the wall "And I don't think I'll have to leave, that I know of."
"That's good. Although I do have to keep an appointment, that is not until later. I need to attend it because it regards a particular bounty that will prove to be very financially satisfying."
She looked at him..."What?"she said.

"Well that's good. I hope it goes well for you" Alexis said. "What time is it at?" she asked.
"This is just life playing a trick on us right.....I never thought I would fall for you...but truly Megan I have." He said turning cherry red but still looked at her with his intense dark hazel eyes.
She stood there and looked at h im with her eyes not leaveing his,"I don't know...but I have fallen for you....but how is this going to work out?"she said to him.
Alex took a step closer to her, his eyes not leaving hers. "I don't know.....but I think we should just trust fate and go along with it." A smile slowly creeping onto his face.
She looked at him and took a step closer to him.."I know but......then you know how it was with my mom and dad...I will live forever...but you..you...will...die."she said as she criged as she said that word.
((tear tear....what am I supposed to say....lol))
Alex nodded his head sadly. "Yeah I know....but..."
She looked at him...about to start crying..."But what....you die and I live..I can't do that...you know how hard it whould be on me....I can't live without you"she said to him her eyes full of tears.
"Do you think....you can umm....turn me?" He asked hesitantly but sure of himself.
She looked at him as the tears spilled out..."I can't do that to you...you have a life to live...you can't waste is for a little crush."she said to him.
".....but fate keeps bringing us together and I don't think it's a little crush anymore." His voice lowered slightly above a whisper near the end of his sentence.
She fell to her knees and put her head in her hands...."Yeah I know....but....not now....I can't do it know..."she said to him.
"I understand.....but I just want your reassurance that we're going to be together forever." He said.
She took his hand and looked up at him...and she nodded...

"Well that's good. I hope it goes well for you" Alexis said. "What time is it at?" she asked.
"It's around 4, I think. It's actually a little bit of a personal bounty which is the reason I have this meeting. Sometimes things are a bit too delicate to let a person who has little experience or likes to kill to handle."
Alexis looked at him suddenly confused. "If you don't mind me asking. What is the appointment for?"
"Well you see, the bounty hunting business is a very simple one. A person is wanted dead or alive, most of the time alive, and eventually that bounty will be fulfilled through the target's capture or demise, which will earn money. However there are some bounties out there that are posted underground, so to speak. They aren't very well known to the general public. These bounties, even though technically they can be fulfilled by someone else, can easily be issued to a specific person, in this case it is me. These underground bounties are used for all sorts of reasons. Maybe a particular person can get the job done cleanly, maybe a person can get a bounty done quickly if the target can disappear easily, or when...." Goblet stopped talking and shuddered slightly, "or uh, when... a certain request is asked to be fulfilled." Goblet had received a slight shock from thinking about it. "I do not like doing requests," he said quietly.
Goblet cleared his throat and sat up straight. "Yes, and I uh, do not like killing people. And I haven't! All right? I always go for the alive bounty, even if it pays more for me to kill the target."
Alexis looked at him "How many people have asked you to actually kill them?" she asked curiously.
Alex happily smiled and kissed her on her lips.
She kissed him back and got up .
"Thanks for accepting me despite our differences."
She nodded at him.
Quote from: Alexis on June 10, 2008, 06:49:02 AM
Alexis looked at him "How many people have asked you to actually kill them?" she asked curiously.
"Technically one. This one associate really appreciates they way I do work. And he also likes that I keep quiet about business. Although sometimes he prefers that the target to die, I always go for the capture so my conscience doesn't trouble me. I have gotten the dead bounty a few times before. It's not a good feeling. Even though I was defending myself when my plan went out of hand, I couldn't sleep for a few days. I would have preferred that I lost the bounty instead of killing someone, even if he had killed innocent people before. But that is the past," said Goblet. "It does not do anyone any good to dwell on regrets. So it is best to let it be. Of course, easier said than done."
"Yeah it is easier said then done" she agreed. "But I think its good how you do it. To only capture them, nothing more" Alexis said.
"Yeah, nothing more. Except on the special requests though," said Goblet. "Those aren't, uh, something to get excited about." Goblet really wanted to change the subject. This wasn't his job time. Alexis wasn't working with him. This in no way could benefit him. Why is he talking about something that he doesn't like talking about just for the sake of making conversation? And why on earth would he tell someone something so deep on the first day he met them? "So Alexis, is there uh, any other way of describing yourself?" Goblet knew this sentence wasn't casual in the slightest.
"Uh.. I don't think so." She was somewhat confused. "What about you?"
At least we are on a different subject, I guess thought Goblet.
"Uh, I think I described myself enough. Now I'm just wondering about you. So what... uh," started Goblet. He thought it would be best to explain to avoid confusion. "Sorry about that, for me to uh, change the subject rather radically. I don't like talking about bounty hunting. Although things have gone smoothly most of the time, there is also those times where it has not. So I would like it if we not delve any further. If you are still curious in the future, then I may tell you then. But not right now. Is that all right with you?" asked Goblet, feeling incredibly unsteady.
"Well if you don't feel comfortable talking about you could just tell me. But I don't mind." Alexis said looking at him.
"Yeah, right," said Goblet, now a little bit more steady but not wanting to make direct eye contact. "So... moving on. Are there any activities you like to take part in?"
"Well, quidditch seems kinda fun. But I don't have very good hand eye coordination" she said laughing slightly.
"I'm not much of a Quidditch fan. I prefer to watch duels and that sort. It's a lot more exciting. I find Quidditch rather trivial while dueling (of course not real dueling) is a true battle of wizardry," said Goblet.
"Yeah thats true. I haven't seen that many duels though" She said to Goblet.
"Oh they really are great to watch. There is this small stadium that is absolutely fantastic. They hold bets there, have additional obstacles to the duels, it's quite a sight to behold even if it is not Quidditch, to those who are a fan of it," said Goblet.
"Hmm doesn't sound that bad. I might go and watch one some time..." Alexis said, thinking. She took a sip of her water.
"Yep," said Goblet. "It really is quite something." Goblet took another drink of water. "Would you describe yourself as a good duelist or fighter?"
(I'm just wondering, do you want to retire this thread?)
(Why? Do you want to? Doesn't matter to me)
"Probably a fighter. Never been one for dueling." She said looking at him. "What about you?"
(No, I was just wondering what YOU thought. I actually want to continue it.)
"I don't fight much nor do I have that much opportunity to duel except for practice. But I'd say that I am a good solid fighter if it comes to it."
(Oh, I thought you were wanting to. But I want to continue it too)
"Yeah, same goes for me. But like I said earlier, I don't have very good hand eye coordination so I'm actually pretty bad" she said smiling slightly. "It just takes practice though."
(I just had a strange feeling you wanted to.)
"If you have bad hand eye coordination, then it's probably wise to practice sports," said Goblet.
"Well I don't want to hurt somebody in the process" She said as she chuckled.
"Oh?" said Goblet. "And why would playing sports cause you to hurt anyone? Are you a rough player or do you have poor sportsmanship?"
"Well, I'm might hurt someone because I'm so horrible at sports..." she said smiling.
"It takes practice to be good enough at sports not to hurt anyone. The risk always lives in everything. Sports is just another risk, but it pays off in the end. Anybody who gets hurt, whether or not it is by your doing, understands that getting hurt is something that can and probably will happen," said Goblet.
"Well I should practice more.." Alexis said to Goblet. "Do you like sports?"
"Yes I like to play them, although I cannot seem to find enough excitement in watching them," said Goblet.
"Yeah..Its more fun to play" She agreed. She took another sip of her water before setting it on the table.
Goblet swigged down the last of his water and tried to think of another conversation topic. "So, do you play any instruments?"
"Yep. I play guitar" She said. She thought about where she last left her guitar at but figured it was in her room. "Do you?" Alexis asked.
(You actually do play the guitar, don't you?)
"No, I like the banjo. I find it more soothing and better sounding," said Goblet, recalling his sore fingertips.
(Yeah I do)
"Thats cool. Do you have it here at Hogwarts? Or did you not bring it?" She asked curiously.
"I keep it under my bed," said Goblet. "I haven't played it in a while though. I still remember a few songs though. Do you have a guitar with you?"
"Yeah, but its in my room" Alexis said point her finger up the stairs to her room.
"Are you avid guitarist or do you pick it up every once in a while?" asked Goblet.
"I play just about everyday. Sometimes all just sit in my room all day and play without stopping. Playing guitar is a passion of mine" She said.
"That's great," said Goblet. "I myself once had a passion like that. Of course when I picked my heavier responsibilities, time slots for practicing covers and careless banjo frailing were getting smaller and smaller." Goblet lifted his a little in thought, "I wonder if I still remember the tuning..."
Alexis thought for a moment. "Well if you do remember, maybe we can play sometime..." She suggested.
"I'd like that," said Goblet with a smile. He snapped his fingers, "Got it! It was GDGBD. I now recall the sentence I use to remember the tuning, although it was very silly: God Dang Germans Be Dissin'." Goblet gave a small chuckle. "Very silly," he said, "but it works."
She laughed. "Well theres one way to remember it!" she said as she laughed some more.
(That's actually how I remember it though.)
"Oh man," said Goblet. "That sentence takes me back. Who would have thought that a sentence like that could trigger major nostalgia?" Goblet now wanted to hear the satisfactory strum of a perfectly tuned banjo.
(thats cool...I just know it by memory lol)
She smiled lightly before asking "How long have you had your banjo?" she ask curiously. She didn't know that much about them so she was curious.
(d**n this new replies notifier! Suddenly it works, then it doesn't!)
"Twelve, I think," said Goblet. "It was one of those things I just wanted to have more than actually wanting to play. Then the later years, I actually picked it up and started playing and frailing. My fingertips have never been the same since," joked Goblet.
(Haha ive never used it..so I wouldnt know :P It must be messed up then?)
Alexis smiled "It seems like it would be a fun thing to play." She said, trying to imagine playing the banjo. "Sounds like your not that bad at it though"
(Yep. Nothing is coming up.)
"Well, I AM not that bad which is to say I am not exactly good. Or rather, I don't quite know how I play. I do know that I can play, I just don't know if I am considered good. How good are you, Alexis?" asked Goblet.
(That sucks.. :-\)
"Well, people say that I'm pretty good... but I just consider myself as average at it..." Alexis said, she thought for a moment. "I could go run up to my room and go get my guitar and show you if you want" she pointed out.
"Yeah, I think I would like that," said Goblet smiling. "I could do the same with my banjo, though I know I'll be a bit rusty."
"Aww come on. I wanna hear" Alexis said smiling. She then ran up to her room real quick and opened her guitar case. She took out her old acoustic guitar and quietly ran back into the common room. (I forgot, is that where we were?) She sat back down in her chair. She looked up at him expectantly.
(Yes, that is where we are. And I'll post tomorrow. I want to go to bed now. Talk to you later.)
(Okay. See ya)
Goblet judged by her look that she expected him to get his banjo. "All righty then, I'll just... get it then." Goblet darted up the staircase to the boy's dormitory, looked under his bed, and took out his dusty banjo. And by golly it was dusty. Goblet remembered how clean the mahogany wood was on the neck and how natural it felt to the touch. He also took the capo right next to it. Goblet went down back to the common room with banjo and capo in hand. "Happy?" asked Goblet as he sat down.
"I am now" Alexis said with a smile. She looked at the banjo "Now, show me what ya got" she said, pointing at the banjo for him to play. She continued to smile teasingly.
"Oh, right. Me and banjo, play. Like uh... yes," said Goblet. Goblet hit his wand on the tuners to save the trouble of tuning it himself. Let's see, which was one he liked to play? Transfiguration, Mistress Witch, Widows in Paradise, Romulus... Mistress Witch. "Okay then."
It was which note now? Goblet did a practice strum and remembered the notes. He put his capo on the sixth fret and held down C. Right, now strum. Goblet did a simple steady strum pattern. He switched to F. Then to A minor. Now to G. He kept on doing his strum pattern.
Goblet stopped playing. "That was only the verse of the song," he said. "There are lyrics, but I know what I sound like so I don't even try singing. Anyway, I want to see what you got."
"Wow, that was great!" She said, looking once more down at the banjo. Then she looked at her guitar and thought about what song she would play. She wanted to find a song that would fit her acoustic guitar, instead of her usual electric guitar that she mostly played. She wanted to find something that would fit. Alexis picked up her guitar upright and began to play Broken by Seether. One of her favorite acoustic songs.
"Now that's something," Goblet quietly muttered to himself while watching Alexis play her acoustic guitar. She was quite good and her claims of endless hours of practicing were quite true judging by her careful steady strumming accompanied by hard but quick finger movements between frets.
"Well you sure do seem to know your guitar, whilst I still slightly bothered by the fact that there is a fifth string on my banjo. I have learned not to strum it accidentally, but still, sometimes I do it and it kills the entire song. But I'm guessing you don't have that problem," said Goblet.
"Thanks. And I bet a banjo would be harder to play though. I've never actually played a banjo but I've done that a million of times on the guitar" Alexis said. She traced her index finger down the strings. "But you played it great." She continued to look at the guitar.
