Alone in the common room, Sky laid down by the window. She looked out upon it to see the sun shining magnificently upon the grounds. Today was a marvelous day to return back to school. Sky sighed and closed her eyes. She had made some bad mistakes, some life-threatening, but now she was back and her problems were gone. She smiled a little bit. It had been a long time since she had been in the common room. It had the same cozy feeling as it had when she had left. It was nice to be home. Now the only thing she had left was to see her friends and her schoolwork. But there was one problem. Who were her friends?
After being away for so long, Sky had forgotten nearly everything about the school. She frequently tried to empty her mind of everything important to her when she had left. So she wouldn't be held down. She grinded her teeth in frustration. "Who are they?" She said quietly to herself.
Jessie walked into the bedroom part of the common room with her head down, counting on her fingers. There were clothes strewn all across the bed, and she began to fold them and stick them in her trunk still muttering softly to herself. When they were all folded and put away, she rummaged around in the drawer of her nightstand and pulled out a huge book. She flopped down on her bed and began to read, kicking off her old converse at the same time. She said *Billie can you turn on that light right there? Thanks your a doll* she kept her nose in her book for a few more pages before looking up for the first time. *Billie what is taking you so-*
Jessie stopped short as she realized that it wasn't Billie in the room. No, no it wasn't Billie at all! *SKY!!!!!!!* Jessie screamed launching herself at her long-lost friend of forever.
Sky gasped as the girl had practicly squeezed the life out of her. She gently patted the girl's back and puller herself away. "Er...hello." She said, eyeing the girl. "Who might you be?" She asked. She sat up against the wall.
Jessie leaned back and took Sky by the shoulders *Sky! It's me! Jessie! We were tight to the end until you left.... but you BACK!!!*
She tilted her head in confusion and gently eased Jessie's hands off of her shoulders. "Jess..ie?" She said slowly to herself. She looked into her eyes, trying to remember. "I'm afraid...you've got the wrong person." She finally said.
*Sky? Sky you know who I am! You must... we were such good friends, and when you left... when you left....* Jessie said her eyes clouding painfully with the memory. *What did they do to you?*
Suddenly Sky grabbed her head and closed her eyes. Memories of her past journey flashed through her head. Voldemort using the Cruciatis curse...her almost death...her escape. Her eyes watered and she turned away. "Jessie." She said again, as if she knew the girl.
*Sky? Do you remember me? Oh please say you do!* Jessie begged. She was almost brought to tears at the thought of losing her friend again. She held them back though, because she didn't want Sky to lie to her.
Sky stood up and walked past Jessie, she went into the girl's dormitory and sat down on her bed. She needed time to think. She pushed a few strands of black hair from her gray eyes. She pulled up her knees and lowered her head so it rested on them. A few tears escaped her eyes and she didn't want Jessie to see. She didn't want anyone to see. She left so she could escape the pain and the misdeeds she had done. And through all of that, she forgot her friends...she forgot her parents.
She now began to sob. She didn't remember her parents. Nothing. Not even their faces. She took out her wand and aimed it at herself. "Please..." She whispered. She didn't utter a curse, but the wand shot a dark red beam at her head. Sky fell back on the bed, unconcious.
Jessie let Sky go alone to her bed, but when she started sobbing, it was just to much for her to handle and she went in to see her aim her wand at her head. *NOOO!* She screamed launching herself at Sky's wand. But she was too late. Jessie somehow got Sky over her shoulder, and began to stumble towards Madam Pomfrey's.
Sky was out for nearly eight hours. *Sorry had to fast forward a little bit* She slowly opened her eyes and found herself in the Hospital Wing. She winced when she felt the throbbing pain in her head. She couldn't think straight due to the pain. She started to sit up, despite the pain trying to hold her down. She started to feel dizzy and fell back down on the bed. "Ugh..." She moaned, feeling her head. "Please...tell me it worked." Madam Pomfrey was over across the wing tending to a student who had gotten hurt in a duel. He had gotten two weeks of detention.
Albus was walking soundless, under his fathers invicibility cloak.
He had heard that Sky had come back, and that she was hurt, had reached his ears when he was eating dinner. His meal was finished fast, and Albus's feet had ran as fast as they could to his room.
First graders wasn't allowed to go out after dinner, so he had sneaked out.
Now, he turned the corner next to the hospital wing, and checked if the cloak covered all of him.
His hand grabbed the door knob and slowly opened it as it had opened it as itself.
Albus walked in and tooka a deep but slow breath. His heart was beating in fear for being discovered.
His friends would kill him if points were taken from Gryffindor by his actions.
He had been missing Sky extremely much, since she was such a good friend.
His eyes and mind, tried to find her, and after a while, he found her in the corner to the right.
He approached her and when he was there, he took a bit of his invicibility cloak away from his face, revealing it. " Hi Sky!" His smile went to ear to ear, but some woory was in his head.
Why had she been away for so long? What was wrong? His arms hugged her tight, welcoming her back.
Jessie was right there and pushed her back. *No Sky. You need to rest. Now.* She said firmly, not open to refusal.
Sky laid back and smiled a little when she got the hug. "Albus...Jessie...." She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. "Sorry..to start so much drama on my return. I..did that spell..to awaken my memories. And it tends to knock you out a bit." She grinned and gave a thumbs up.
Jessie shook her head laughing. *You never were one to worry about what might happen!*
"Hehe. I guess not." She smiled and then sat back up and swung her feet over her bed. "I could say I'm quite lucky. I've never tried that spell but I heard it once when The headmaster was reaquainting with his thoughts. Only...he didn't hurt himself..." She chuckled and stood up. "Now if you don't mind, I need to get back to the dormitory and start doing make-up work."
Albus looked at Sky with a smile. He loved this part with Sky.
" I'll help you there" Albus said helpfully, not wanting her to fall in the stairs or something, just because she couldn't focus enough with the pain and everything.
Sky smiled too. "Thanks Albus. Hey...what year are you guys in again?" She asked as she took a few pills Madam Pomfrey left on her desk.
" First... It sucks, and it's really easy. The only thing that is hard, is the wand skills...."
Nowadays, school was really easy, and his attitude was laidback all the time.
"Oooh wandskills. Well..they're not so bad after awhile. Better than Herbology." She shrugged as she walked out into the hall with her hand on her head. She was a little dizzy but didn't show it.
((Wait, Albus we can't be in first if she was gone a year!! Change it to say 3rd!))
Jessie walked on the other side of Sky to make sure she kept her balance. Jessie was just so worried about her, because after being such good friends, she would have definitely remembered her. That's just who Sky was. But now Jessie just wondered what they had done to her.
Sky looked at Jessie then at Albus. "I'm alright guys...really." She said to them. "I've..I've just been through alot of things and to get through them, you have to clear your head of your weaknesses. Don't worry."
*Sky, you know me well enough to realize that I'll worry a little.* Jessie said laughing slightly and forcing a smile, that slowly began to be natural. *I just need time is all*
"That may be true." She said as she made it to the common room. "But really, Worrying just makes things harder. Well...I guess I'll be seeing you guys soon. Maybe we can have lunch together in Hogsmead sometime. Let me know."
*Yeah we should, but I have to write and essay for DADA, so I'll just be hanging around down here if you need anything* Jessie said.
She hugged Jessie. "Thanks Jessie. You're a really good friend." And with that, she walked off.
Jessie smiled. ~At least she seems to remember me...~ She thought to herself sad, and yet somewhat happier that Sky at least cared enough to fake it.
Sky sighed. Little memories were coming back, but it still bugged her. She probably wouldn't gain back her full memories for another day. She got frustrated and punched the wall before stumbling and then going up the stairs.
Jessie saw Sky punch the wall and was about to say something, but decided against it. She was worried about Sky and yet knew that she would just make things worse by doing something.
Sky sat down on her bed. She put her hands on her face and looked at the ceiling. "Why did I forget them? Why am I so stupid?" She didn't realize it, but tears were streaming down her face. She looked at her hands, which were wet with salty tears. "They're my friends...how could I have forgotten them? Am I really that selfish?" She said to herself. She was alone in the common room so nobody could hear her talk. She laid back on the bed sideways, so her feet hung over the side. She closed her eyes and began to sleep.
She began to see some of her memories returning. Slowly...one by one. But they weren't powerful enough yet.
Jessie couldn't here Sky moving around any more, so she snuck upstairs to see what was going on. She saw the dried tears on her face. Jessie was almost brought to tears herself, seeing Sky like this. It really showed her how much Sky cared, even if she couldn't really remember them.
Sky moved in her sleep and then screamed. She screamed like she did when voldemort used the cruciatis curse on her. She dreamed of that day.
Jessie jumped when she screamed and then couldn't take it anymore and woke Sky up and said *Sky! Are you ok? You had a nightmare.*
Sky sat up, wide eyed and shaking. She started crying. "Jessie!"
Jessie sat down on the bed and hugged Sky, gently rocking her back and forth like her mother used to do when she had a nightmare. *Shhh... it's ok it's just a dream.... it's just a dream....* She said in her most soothing voice.
She took a deep breath. Nothing ever made her cry like that. But the image of voldemort...the pain he had caused...it tore Sky to pieces. "I..remember now..you're my best friend."
Now Jessie was just as bad of a wreck as Sky, but for a different reason. It was out of joy. *I knew you remembered Sky. I knew that somewhere in there.... you knew me!*
Sky cried again. The memory of her parents death that happened before her eyes had just appeared. She never should have used that charm to bring back her dropped memories. It brought back everything. She fell to the floor pathetically and sobbed. "Mother...Father."
Jessie sat down on the floor next to Sky. She just let her cry it out and kept stroking her back, not saying anything.
Sky finally couldn't cry anymore. She looked at her right arm where there was a burn from her elbow all the way to her shoulder. "I had to burn the mark..and make sure it would be gone...". She said, bringing up the dark mark.
Jessie gently touched Sky's arm. She couldn't even believe what she must have gone through. *Oh Sky...*
She looked at Jessie. "I'm sorry for everything." Then she stood up and ran out of the common room, despite the fact that she had just gotten there. She hid in an empty classroom and laid down on a group of desks. She stared up at the ceiling that was enchanted with a black sky and stars. "You're too emotional Sky." She whispered to herself.
Jessie just let her go. She knew that Sky just needed time ~but how much?~ Jessie thought to herself. ~No.... she'll come back when she's ready.~
Sky was in there for a good hour before returning to the common room. She went to go change, then went and sat down on one of the chairs downstairs.
Jessie saw Sky come back and smiled at her. She would let Sky decide when she wanted to talk.
Sky looked at Jessie. "Jessie...I don't know if I'm going insane or what...but I think someone is after me." She whispered, so only Jessie could hear.
*Sky I'll never think you're crazy, but following you? What would give you that idea?* Jessie said to Sky motioning to her that she should come sit on the couch next to her.
Sky went and sat down on the couch and put a hand over her eyes and looked down. "I've been seeing the replay of my parent's death over and over again. The death eater that killed them....I've seen him everywhere. He's like a part of my imagination now. I think its a sign." She looked at Jessie, seeing the look on her face. "I don't think its because of the curse I used on my memories."
Jessie couldn't believe how awful it must be to see your parents die over and over again. And then on top of it, to have the death eater haunting you? *Sky... I believe you 100%, but what could you do to stop him? And if there's anything I can do.... just please let me know!* Jessie said.
"Thanks Jessie. I guess I just have to wait for him to find me. Let me know if you see someone suspicious."
*I will Sky... and if you see someone suspicious, you tell me, so that I can help you get rid of him!* Jessie said.
Sky sighed. "I know I'm not imagining this stuff. Its too weird. This guy...he's probably about forty now. Black hair...yellow eyes."
Jessie shuddered at the description. It was your typical scary type. *Sky... I don't think you should go places alone anymore... at least not until we can get rid of him...* Jessie said, and then added, *It's not that you're a little kid, but no one wants to lose you! And I'd blame myself if something were to happen.*
Sky looked at Jessie. "I've been alone for 10 years Jessie." She pulled out her wand. "I don't know why he killed my parents but I do know he wants me dead for betraying Voldemort. I guess its time to learn how to fight." Sky knew alot of magic, but she needed to practice getting things together right. Getting everything in Sync.
"I'll be okay." Sky said to Jessie, though she really didn't know.
*Fine, but you should talk to Ginny. She can teach you how to fight with your hands and your wand... she's the best person to talk to about something like this.* Jessie said. She wasn't sure about Sky's security either, but she still wanted to do something to help.
Sky was silent for a moment. "Perhaps that might be useful..."
*Oh, trust me Sky it will! I've only been to one class and I already know way more than I did before! And she actually has you fight people!* Jessie said.
Sky sighed. "Alright."
*Oh good! I'm so glad that you're preparing to defend yourself! It'll be fun trust me! We can even train together!* Jessie said, appearing happy to cover up her worries.
