Darius sat on the edge of the lake, cross legged, leaning over and looking into the water. He tilted his blond head, leaning forward until his nose almost touched the water. He wore a royal blue t-shirt and khaki shorts, his sneakers were beside him, his socks stuffed inside.
He had no friends here, nobody to talk to. He'd been at Hogwarts for a few months, and basically spent all his time in his room or in classes. Today was possibly the second time he'd not had anything to do during the day. And then he'd decided to go look at the lake.
Literally.
Sky walked along the shore of the lake, her long black hair flowing gently in the light breeze. She wore a black long sleeve shirt with a white t-shirt over it. She had on her favorite faded blue jeans and black converse. She noticed someone sitting along the shore and quietly approached him. "Hi. I'm Sky." She said.
Darius sat up, leaning backwards and looking up at Sky. He smiled, a genuine smile.
"Hi." He said back. He stared at her for a moment, then scrambled to stand up, holding out his hand, "I'm Darius. It's nice to meet you."
He flushed, realizing he probably sounded like a loser.
She gave him a friendly smile and stretched out her hand to shake his. "It's nice to meet you too. So what house and year are you in?" She asked, starting up a conversation.
Darius put his hands in his pockets after they shook, and grinned at her. "I'm a sixth year, and I'm in Ravenclaw. What about you?"
She seemed nice, and he was careful to keep his answers short, so she wouldn't get bored with him.
Sky could tell that Darius was a bit shy and smiled. "I'm a sixth year in Gryffindor." She replied just as shortly as he did. She felt a bit shy but shrugged it off.
"Gryffindor, huh?" He paused, "The house of the brave, right?"
He looked towards the forest, "Feel like showing your house colors and taking a walk with me?" He didn't want her to go away. He really wanted a friend.
"Sure." Sky said. He seemed like a really cool guy and felt like getting to know him. "And your house is of the cunning, Right?" She asked.
"Yeah, the thinkers of our generation." Darius laughed, reaching down and putting his socks and sneakers on. He was kneeling, tying them as he spoke next, "Though I'd much rather be considered brave than smart."
"Everyone has a sense of bravery in them. I don't think I deserve the honor of being a Gryffindor though..." She said, pulling her dark black hair into a ponytail and then letting it go back down.
Darius smiled as he stood back up and began to walk, "Well, why not? You seem brave to me."
He laughed, "But then, if I knew what being brave way about, I'd be in Gryffindor, wouldn't I?"
She grinned. "Perhaps." She said slowly. She followed beside him, talking small gentle steps.
Th walked in silence, and Darius sighed. He looked over at her, "I'm sorry. I'm not used to this. You know..talking to..." He shrugged.
"Talking to...what?" She asked, looking at him. "Don't apologize." She said, smiling.
"Well, I was going to say girls. But, actually, I'm not used to talking to people in general." He shrugged, then smiled. Happy that she had told him not to apologize.
He was quiet for another moment as they entered the forest.
"I've never been in here before."
"Really?" She said, slightly surprised. She had been here many times in an effort to escape the issues of school and other things. To clear her head. "Well then. I guess I can be your guide and warn you of whats ahead."
Darius looked at her sideways, grinning. "And what would be ahead? Monsters?"
Sky laughed. "No. No creature here is a monster. Theres werewolves..but only at night, centaurs, unicorns, wolves, and an occasional vampire. But that usually happens at night too. We're safe right now."
"Good." He laughed, "Wouldn't want to get attacked one of the few times I dare to leave my room." He was making light of the fact that he never left the Ravenclaw common room. But really, besides classes, why would he have? Sky was slowly becoming his only friend.
Sky sighed and took in a deep breath of the fresh air of the forest. "So what brings you out here?" She asked.
Darius shrugged, looking down and putting his hands into his pockets. "Finished my homework, read all the books I own twice, and have nothing better to do." He scuffed his sneakers like a little kid, looking over at her.
"You?"
She shrugged. "It's peaceful here. I need a good stress reliever." She said.
"What's so stressful?" He asked, out of curiosity, "you don't have to tell me if you don't want to." He added, hurriedly, flushing. He didn't want her to think he was prying into her business.
She smiled at the sight of him blushing. "It's okay. I've had alot of things on my mind. School work and stuff." She didn't mention her parent's yet. She didn't think it would be good to bring it up so soon. "But I'll be okay. I bought a guitar from a muggle shop, so I might come out here to play every once in awhile."
"You play the guitar?" He stopped walking and looked at her with pure admiration. "That is awesome!"
"Do you think..." He faltered, "You could...maybe, possibly, teach me how to play?"
((If only I knew in real life XD))
Sky nodded, happy someone was eager to learn. "Yeah. That'd be great. If you have time...we can start now." She said. "That is..if you want too."
(Yeah, me too. XD. btw, what is that thing in your signature?!)
"I have endless time, you don't even know!" He nodded eagerly, "Sure, whenever you want, anytime!" He was all but jumping up and down. He grinned at her, his eyes dancing with excitement.
She giggled at his excitement. "Accio guitar." She said after taking her wand out of her pocket. Her guitar came zooming out of the castle and into her hands. "Shall we remain here or elsewhere?" She asked with a warm smile.
((I have no idea XD))
(Haha, sweet.)
"Anywhere you want." He told her, nodding. He smiled brightly, looking at her guitar. "Where'd you get that at? It's awesome."
She sat down on a large boulder and motioned for him to sit next to her. "I got it from a muggle shop." She said. "Okay first things first. You have to lay your hands in the right position. Like this." She demonstrated the position for his hands.
Darius sat down beside her, watching her hands. He nodded, "Ok, what then?" He glanced up, giving her a smile.
She looked at him and handed him the guitar. "Before you learn to play, you should try playing it for fun. Here. I want you to have this. Play with it for a few days and we'll start some lessons." She smiled back at him.
Darius's eyes grew wide, and worried, "Are you sure? I don't want to break it or anything." He gave her a really worried look. If something happened to her guitar while he was borrowing it, she'd probably hate him.
He really didn't want that.
"I'm sure. If It breaks, I can repair it." She said. "Trust me. It's fine."
"I..." He flushed again, smiling even as he did so. "You are really cool you know that Sky?" He grinned, shaking his head, "I mean it. I've never met anyone quite like you before."
Sky's cheeks turned a bright shade of pink that seemed to be even brighter due to her dark hair. "Really? Well thank you. I don't believe I've met anyone like you before either." She smiled again, a big one. He was actually really nice and cheerfull. Eager to learn new things.
"That's because I never leave my room. Otherwise, you'd have met someone like me because everybody wants to be like me." He joked, laughing at the absurdity.
Sky laughed. "Why would they want to be like you when they can be like me?" She joked.
"True," He said, nodding, "You are very cool. I can see why others would want to be like you."
She smiled yet again, at the compliment. "Thank you." Sky said. She didn't really know what to say.
Darius liked to see her smile, and he grinned in return.
"Let's go put this away," He held up her guitar, "So I don't break it right away."
"Okay." She said and hopped off of the boulder.
Darius stood as well, though not hopping like she did. He was more careful, not wanting to drop Sky's guitar.
He smiled at her as they began to walk back to the school.
"So, what classes do you take, Sky?" He asked, wondering if they had any of the same classes.
She smiled back at him. "I have transfiguration, double charms, defense against the dark arts, then potions and care of magical creatures. And you?" She asked.
"Kinda the same. Half the week I have potions, double herbology, DADA, transfiguration, and then astrology." He grinned, "Okay, so it's not the same at all."
He laughed, "And the other half the week, I have care of magical creatures, divination, and charms."
"I don't take divination. I don't really understand it. But I do take herbology every two days. Somehow it worked out that way." She said as they walked to the school.
"I don't understand it either." he laughed, "I was thinking about switching classes, but I don't know what class to switch it for."
"Any ideas?"
She thought for a moment. "Well. It depends. What two classes are your favorites?" Sky asked.
"I like DADA..." He told her, thinking, "And charms is cool too." He shrugged, "I don't really have favorites."
"Well, maybe you could take an extra one of those. It'd show up good on your future resume." Sky said. "So, where are we going anyway?" She asked.
"Ravenclaw tower. I want to put your guitar in my room so it doesn't get hurt." He told her. He shrugged, "I might just drop the class and take a study period instead."
She nodded when he mentioned the guitar. "I have a free period on thursdays and tuesdays." She said. "They come in handy. I just walk around the whole time or something."
Darius nodded back, "Then I'd have most o0f my homework done even earlier than usual." He shrugged, "Which means more time looking at my wall."
"Well..." Sky thought for a few seconds. "If you're as bored as you say you are, maybe we can do something." She said with a bright smile.
Darius grinned back, "Anytime." He laughed, beginning to feel much more at ease with Sky.
"Sweet." Sky said with a grin. She was happy she found a new friend. A really cool one at that.
They went into the school, and Darius led her to Ravenclaw common room.
"I'll be right back." He told her, going to the boys dorms.
Sky stood in the common room, looking around. It looked alot like Gryffindor's but with Ravenclaw pride. "Okay." She said as he went upstairs.
He put the guitar safely on his bed, afraid to put it beside for fear one of his room mates would kick it by accident. He grinned as he turned away from the beds and walked back to Sky.
"What to do now?"
She shrugged. "What ever you want. I'm up for anything." She said.
((I'll brb soon. I have to go take my Dad lunch. We were going earlier until he changed his mind. So stay online!))
Darius shrugged, "I don't know what there is to do around here." He told her truthfully.
(I'll try. My dad might make me sign off though.)
((Can I join I am the ONLY one on right now))
((Yeah. Go ahead.))
Sky poked him. "TAG!" She yelled and ran out of the common room. "You're it!" She called to him.
KeKe was just about to walk into the commanroom when Sky ran into her. "Ahhh!"she said then fell down. "The the heck is going on!"she said. She looked around and saw some boy and Sky, "I don't want to know."she said to them. Still sitting on the ground..
Sky looked at Keke. "Oh you know. We were having crazy monkey sex until you barged in." She joked and started laughing.
She got up and looked at the kid, then back at Sky. "I knew it!"she said to her and laughed.
"No haha. We were just thinking about what we were going to do." Sky said.
She looked at her, "Mhmmm."she said with a smile. "Its okay...I don't know what I was going to say."she said
Sky smiled. "Such a boring day" She said.
"Oh my god I know!"she said to her and laughed.
"I'm glad I only have a year left after the summer." Sky said. "No more lessons after that unless I attend a college."
She looked at her, "Yeah I know what you mean. But I am going to miss this place."she said to her and smiled.
Sky looked up at the ceiling then at the walls. "It is home." She said quietly.
She looke down, "The only home I have."she said quitely.
Sky nodded. "That is true for me aswell. If I were to leave school, I would be in either an orphanage until I turned 17, or living on the streets...."
SHe nodded, "yeah well I have my brother."she said to her.
She looked away. "I have no one."
She looked at her, "Oh don't worry I will be her for ya."she said to her with a smile.
Sky smiled. "Thanks." She said.
She smiled back. "So who is this."she said nodded to the boy.
Sky smiled. "His name is Darius. We've just met a little while ago."
She looked at her, "And you guys are already haveing sex....don't get pregent Sky."she said joking.
Sky laughed. "We didn't have sex!" She exclaimed. She looked away when a random hufflepuff who was walking by looked at her. "I was only kidding about that!"
She looked at the kid walking by then back at Sky, "So you did have sex."she said and laughed trying to mess her up.
Sky glared at Keke. "Do I look like a sleeper?" She asked with a smirk.
"Yes, Yes you do."she said.
((Sleeper..wtf?))
"Well thanks!" She said, turning away.
((when ever you put *sleeper* like say...you are a sleeper.....it says sleeper.))
"i was kidding."she said to her.
((I know...but why sleeper!? Why not cupcake?))
"Yeah sure." Sky said to her.
"I was Sky..."she said to her..
((i know...WTF))
Sky laughed. "Okay."
"Hehe"she said to her
(Wow, I almost got lost!)
Darius nodded to Keke, "Hi." He said. He looked over to Sky, a bit bewildered.
((We were bored lol.))
Sky smiled at Darius and laughed. "So...I'm bored. Lets do something."
She looked at them and smiled.."I say...lets bring out the fireworks!"she said with a laugh.
Sky looked at Keke. "Fireworks?"
"Yeah....."she said to them. then looked at Sky then at Darius. "Ok...lets go..now!"she said to them and smiled.
Sky was surprised at Keke's anxiotity. "Eager are we?"
"Sorry I love fire."she said to her and then steped outside.
"FIRE IS GOOD!" She called to Keke as she waited for Darius.
KeKe went outside and then took a big one out of her pocket and lit it. She jumped back as it went off.
