Sky walked out to the lake. She was wearing a black tank top and black shorts with a broom in her hand. The day was perfect. Sunny with white clouds in the baby blue sky. She loved clouds. Sky stood several yards away from the shore and stared out at the lake.
Virgil was flying on his way to quidditch practice, on his new Firebolt, when he spotted a girl below, that looked kind of familiar. He flew down, and looked over at the girl, and it was Sky. "Hey Sky. What are you doing all the way out here?" said Virgil
Sky looked at Virgil. "Oh I was just thinking about going for a ride. It's pretty nice out." She said, now looking at the clouds. "What about you?"
"Yeah, I was on my way to quidditch practice. It just got rescheduled, and I just found out about it, but I have a few minutes, could I take a ride with you?" said Virgil, with his broom still in hand.
Sky looked at him, smiling. "Sure. I'd love to have some company." She said, mounting her broom.
Vergil mounted his broom and smiled as he said "Ladies first."
Sky smirked and zoomed off, leaving nothing but the dirt and leaves on the ground floating in the air.
Virgil looked up, as Sky had taken off, leaving him in the dust. He lifted off the ground, and zoomed in her direction. "You can't get away from me that easily." said Virgil with a smirk as he sped up.
Sky looked back at him and lowered herself so she was just above the lake. She let her fingers skim the the water as she sped up.
Vergil followed her path, but when he passed the lake, it started to steam. "You can't get away from me." he said speeding up some more.
Sky leaned on her broom, speeding up to her broom's limit. She leaned as far as she could, and tipped her broom, flipping into the lake.
Vergil sat on his broom, waiting for her to resurface. "Need some help?" he hooked his bag strap to the broom, and hopped into the water.
Sky swam to the surface and spat out some water. She started laughing. "I can't believe..that just happened..." She said, looking at Virgil.
"Might as well go for a swim since we are here." said Vergil, as he started on a backstroke.
Sky went underwater and came back up. She ran her hands through her hair and took in a deep breath. "The water is perfect. I prefer to swim when it's dark though."
Vergil did a backflip in the water, into a dive, that submerged him deep in the water. He then resurfaced, and said "Fun." before backstroking once more.
Sky nodded. "So Vergil...how do you like school?" She asked.
"School is pretty cool. Meet new people and learn something new everyday." said Virgil as he looked back at Sky. "How do you like school?"
"It's home." Sky replied with a sigh. She grinned. "I'll miss it after next year."
"Thats about how I feel. I feel so at home here, since my mom passed.." said Virgil as he dove underwater again.
Sky waited for him to surface. She looked at him with a sad look in her eyes. "So you're mom is gone too?" She asked quietly. "Both of my parents are gone..."
"Well, both of my parents are gone aswell though. I just stay with my aunt. Where do you stay in the summer?" said Vergil.
Sky looked down at the water. "This is my first year at a school that releases you for the summer. I don't have a place to go." Sky replied in the same quiet tone.
Virgil looked back at Sky and said "You don't? Erm.. not sure if I am the right one to help.. My aunt may let you stay with us, if you dont have anywhere to go."
Sky gave him a small smile. "I really appreciate that..but I'll be okay."
Virgil said "Okay." as he dove under the water once more.
Sky pulled herself onto her broom and sat on it so only her feet were in the water.
Virgil too hopped out of the water, pulling out his wand. He pointed it to Sky, and mumbled a spell, then her clothes and hair became dry. He then used the spell on himself, before saying "Where to now?"
"I dunno. Any place in mind?" Sky asked. "Thanks by the way."
"Not really, do you have anywhere you like do go?" said Virgil as he took his bag off of his broom, and put it back on.
"I just like to ride." Sky said, pushing her bangs out of her Grey eyes. "Perhaps we can go somewhere...randomly." She suggested with a smile.
Virgil looked back at Sky with a grin and said "Why not, I don't have anything better to do.. Lead the way." Virgil then reached in his bag, and pulled out a pack of gum, and ate a piece. "Want some?" he said, holding the pack in Sky's direction.
Sky took a piece of gum. "Thank you." She said with a smile, sticking the piece in her mouth and sitting in the same position. She looked at him and took off at a slower pace.
"No problem." said Virgil as he took off with her. He then pulled up to her side and said "If you wouldn't mind, where are we going?" in a slightly retorical voice.
Sky shrugged. "I don't know. Anywhere this broom takes me I guess." She said with a smirk.
"Guess I can't argue with that then." said Virgil, as he started to scope out the scenery.
Sky looked down at the lake and the forest as she got higher. "It's beautiful down there." She said, smiling at the scenery.
Virgil redirected his attention back to Sky, and said "Well, I guess you could say that." as he maintained his pace next to her.
Sky smiled and took in a deep breath of the fresh air. "So..after your quidditch, do you want to get something to eat?"
Virgil then said "Sounds good. Quidditch usually leaves me hungry."
"Okay then." Sky said.
Virgil looked ahead, as the quidditch pitch came into view, and quickly said "Race you to the quidditch field!!" with a smirk, as he took off, zooming through the sky.
Sky zoomed closely behind him, the wind howling loudly in her ear.
Virgil looked back and said "Is that all you got? I know you can do better than that." as he sped up some more.
Sky smirked and fell off of her broom on purpose. Just as she was coming close to hitting the ground, she caught herself on her broom.
Virgil turned, thinking she was in danger, but then smirked, as he stood up on his board surfer style, going faster again.
Sky stood on the tip of her broomm maintaining a great amount of balance.
Virgil turned around on his broom, while still moving forward, and said, "So this has turned into a tricks showcase? Ok, beat this." as he hopped off his broom, catching it in one hand, spining back into a sitting position, as his broom started spinning, as he migrated back to a standing position.
Sky laughed. "Okay, give!" She went down to the Quidditch Field and landed.
Virgil hopped on his broom, and slowed down, over shooting the field. He then flew back to Sky on the bottom of the field.
