Darkness.
That was all Raven could see.
Darkness.
She sensed her surroundings with her whiskers as she took slow sneaking steps down the dark corridor. Finally a small green light became visable. Raven took another step forward, her pupils now forming into little slits in her eyes. There was a green flame on the wall. A nice guide through the darkness such as this. She took yet another step, now standing below the flame. Her spotted fur now appeared a slight green.
Tap...Tap...Tap...Tap
Raven's ears perked. Who could be awake during such a late hour? She slowly backed up into a dark corner and morphed into her human state. A tall girl, who's honey colored hair fell neatly behind her back with her bangs over her bright blue eyes, wearing a simple green t-shirt and black cloak, hid quitely behind the corner, her wand drawn, waiting for the person to appear.
Who could it be?
Leah walked through the dungeon in her black cloak. It was cold down here! She had been playing truth or dare and the girls had dared her to come down here. *There aren't any rats... liars...* She was muttering as she held her wand out before her. Her wand was lit up, which helped her to see. She took a deep breath, slightly scared of the dungeons at this time of night. *And really... the ghosts are nice, so even if they were down here, they wouldn't hurt me....* She muttered on.
Raven's mouth formed into a mischievious smirk.
Must be a Gryffindor She thought to herself.
She morphed back into her leopard form, crouching low, ready to jump out infront of the girl. As she got low to the ground, she let out a deep roar, her eyes back into little slits again.
Jackie had been one of the girls playing truth or dare and decided to follow Leah down here, just in case... She turned the corner and saw a pair of slitted eyes. She screamed and sent the animal with the eyes hurling backwards with the sound waves of her scream. "Crap." She muttered.
The waves caused Raven to morph back into her human form. She landed against the dungeon wall, her head clearly in alot of pain. She slowly stood up and found her balance.
"What the hell was that for!?" She yelled at Jackie, running her hand over her head to check for blood. There wasn't any, but there was a small bump.
Leah saw Jackie, then a leopard, then a girl, and soon she was screaming her head off. *Oh my gosh! Are you ok! Sorry she does that on accident all the time! But you!* Leah said as she rounded on Jackie, *Jackie! Why'd you follow me? Clearly you guys don't trust me!!*

"Sorry! Ohmygosh!!! I'm so sorry! That tends to happen when I get suddenly scared... Its totally accidental!" Jackie gushed felling terrible. Then she turned back to Leah. "Its not that I don't trust you! I've just had some pretty bad expierences down here alone..." Jacklie said with a shudder.
"Stupid Gryffindors..." Raven muttered, rubbing her head again. "You could have killed me with that!"
Leah rolled her eyes at Jackie and was gonna say something to her when she heard what Raven said. She turned and looked at her with her eyes in slits. *What did you say to me? That is the stupidest thing I've heard! You're calling us stupid because we're Gryffindors? Ha! You have got to be kidding me! Classifying be house makes me so mad especially because everyone assumes that since I'm in Gryffindor and they're in a different house that we can't be friends!* Leah said.

"Stupid Gryffindors..." Raven muttered, rubbing her head again. "You could have killed me with that!"
"Yeah you're right I could have killed you, but me being a stupid Gryffindor just might get scared by some dust and scream REALLY loud... Which may by chance... kill you... But thats only because I'm a STUPID Gryffindor." Jackie snapped becoming angry.
"What is going on down here?!?!" said Stacy rather loudly. She had her wand lit. "Oh. It`s you guys." she said sneering at the two Gryffindors. Changing the subject, she brought attention back to the green flame. "What is it?"
"Yeah, and what about us?" Jackie said looking at the new girl with a sneer on her face that matched the other girl's.
*Oh give it a rest Jackie, we can deal with them later. And you should really consider those anger management classes.* Leah said, exhasperated with how things were going. *Now what is that flame?*
Raven laughed. "My my, you are rather touchy about the subject now aren't you? Certainly you know that Slytherins don't befriend Gryffindors?" Her mouth curved into a smile. "Unless you're a traitor." She nearly whispered.
"Well, some people aren't oblivious to everything but someones house. And for your imformation I do have a Slytherin friend." Jackie said, she started to walk away, but stopped as she heard the last part. She took a deep shuddering breath. "I don't... want to hurt you..."
Raven sighed. "The prefects should be coming around this area any minute now. Best go to your common room." She turned and went to sit on the steps.
Leah's mouth dropped open. *House isn't everything that matters! And I happen to have a Slytherin friend too! And Ravenclaw! And I most certainly am not a traitor!* She said, supporting Jackie. *Thank you for that advice, but I want to know what that flame is. Do you have any idea?*
Raven shook her head. "It's a light so we don't run into the wall. It's dark down here." Raven quickly morphed into her leopard form and laid down on the floor under the flame.
"And what is going on here?" Ginny leaned against the wall, having just rounded the corner. She folded her arms, her eyebrows raised in false amusement.
"An argument...or a slumber party?" She frowned then, shaking her head as she looked at the Jackie and Jessie. And then at the animagi leopard. She'd heard the last few words of the argument, and wasn't very happy.
Her bright red hair was pulled back, standing out even in the green flame. She wore jeans and a t-shirt instead of her teachers robes and looked very at ease.
And slightly upset.
"Leah, Jackie, you two know better than to be wandering around down here." She scolded them gently. It wasn't the real issue here, but it was a start.
The leopard looked up at Ginny, her eyes shining brightly with the flame. She was out of her common room in the first place because she had trouble sleeping at night. Her tail swished a little. She could tell Ginny wasn't happy. Raven didn't really care.
Jackie turned around and came to face Ginny. She stopped midsentence, "Sorry Ginny." She said apologetically, but there was still a hint of anger in her voice from the argument about houses.
Raven stood up and slowly began walking up the steps to the common room. Her mother had always taught her that Slytherins never befriended Gryffindors. That they were rivals and would be traitors if they befriended them. Raven couldn't be a traitor. Her mother told her just before she boarded the train to Hogwarts...
"Now behave yourself at school. You know what the punishment is if I receive a letter saying that you have gotten into trouble." Said Grace.
"And you know better than to be friends with a Gryffindor, right?" Asked Debbie.
Raven shook her head. "Why is it so bad?" She asked them.
Grace's eyes became dark. "If you become friends with a Gryffindor, you will be a traitor and removed from our family name. I've given you everything you could possibly ask for, so I ask you stay loyal to our family law."
Ginny turned her eyes to Raven, frowning deeply. She spoke to Jackie though, "Why are you down here?"
"I followed Leah." She said, somewhat distracted by Raven who was starting to walk away.
Soon making it to the top step, Raven changed yet again into her normal self. She was slightly angered. Of course she couldn't go for a walk without there being a commotion. If Jackie had been able to control her powers, this arguement may not have happened.
Ginny kept her eyes on Raven's back, but continued speaking to Jackie.
Calmly she spoke, quietly, "You followed her? For what reason? Neither of you have classes down here, and neither of you have any business down here."
She paused, "Detention, both of you. Tomorrow night, understood?"
She said nothing to Raven. The girl hadn't done anything wrong, actually.
"Yes, Ginny." Jackie said, scuffling her feet on the ground. Then she started back up to the commonroom.
Stacey, who had suddelny felt as if she had been forgotten, changed into her snow leopard form and walked up to Raven` side. She had seen her wondering the halls at night before as she had often done the same. Stacey gave a soft growl toward Raven and then walked toward the others. She looked toward them apologetically, she hadn`t known that they were in her common-room, she hadn`t really taken notice of any body really. She then directed her attention back to Raven.
Raven looked down at Stacy. She didn't speak a word. She didn't feel like speaking until she was in the common room. She walked up to the door and said the password quietly and clearly and walked in. The room was dark with another green light on the wall to guide those who had to awaken to use the restrooms.
Stacy, getting a little agitated, followed Raven into the common room. Stacy didn`t belong to Slytherin, but often stole into different houses. Stacy was curious to see what Raven would say or do.
Without looking at her Raven sat down in an armchair.
"What are you doing here?" Raven said with a great amount of annoyance in her tone. "You don't belong here."
Stacy gave Raven a solid look that said 'What`s your point.' Stacy turned back into herself and sat down. I`ve seen you prowling around at night. I didn`t know you could change into a leopard. Well, you could see what I can do." Stacy`s eyes turned green with curiosity.
Raven looked at her with a normal expression. It was too late for her to really care. "So I can." She said, looking at her. "What house are you in?" She asked.
"What does that matter?" Stacy answered with an air of authority. "Gryffindor, if you have to know. I followed you in here because I have seen you so often prowling around at night. I can`t believe you haven`t ever felt my presence, being a cat and all." Stacy, getting a bit aggitated, turned her eyes a tint of red.
Raven looked at her. "You need to leave the common room. It's late. If another Slytherin wakes up and finds you here, you're toast."
Stacey turned into a snow leopard, then herself again. "If I hear footsteps, I`ll change into a snow leopard. Besides, I do this all the time, if you know it or not."
Raven morphed into her leopard form again and ran out the door. She knew Stacey snuck around. But stayed away.
Stacey changed into her snow leopard form and growled, then ran after Raven. She wanted to know why she snuck around at night and how she went around at night without being seen, because as far as she had seen, she didn`t really try to conceal herself at all.
Raven looked back and ran faster. Why was she following her?
Stacey was gaining on Raven and lunged in front of her. "Why are you running from me?" Stacey said after turning into herself.
Forming into herself also, Raven took a deep breath. Going from Animagus to human multiple times was exhausting. "Why..are you following me?" She responded.
"I want to know what that flame really was."
Raven sighed. "Are you guys really that stupid? We're Slytherins. So we bewitched the fires in the dungeon to be green. It's nothing but a guiding light."
Stacey was getting irritated, her eyes turned a redish-brown color. She gave Raven a cold stare.
Raven smirked. "You don't believe me."
((Sorry I haven't replied... I've been gone...))
Leah looked down at her shoes, when Ginny mentioned detention. She scuffled her feet and then walked off toward the common room and said as she passed her, *Sorry Ginny*
Stacey didn`t.
"Well what do you expect me to tell you? Do you want me to say the light is a signal? Or perhaps there is something hidden in it?" Raven laughed. "It's just a flame."
Stacey didn`t move.
Raven turned away from Stacy. "It's late. I'm off to bed."
Stacey became a cat and watched her leave. ((now what?)
Raven waited near the common room by the door until Stacy had left, then went to back over to the flame. She put her wand near it and extinguished it.
((now what?)) Stacey stopped at the outside of the door. She had hidden an Extendable Ear ynder a chair so she could hear.
((I don't know?))
Raven smirked, looking at the chair near her and the almost invisible string that was tied near it. With her being an animagus, her vision was pretty good in the darkness. She walked over, finding the ear, and stepped on it. "Nice Try..." Raven whispered.
Stacey figured she would find it, so she had placed a special charm on the room so she could hear what anyone, anywhere in the room was saying.
Getting bored in the dungeon, Raven walked upstairs to the great hall. She took her wand out of her pocket, she said "Accio Broom." Just moments later, her broom, a nimbus 2001, came zooming out from the common room and hovered in front of her. She quickly jumped on and flew out of the window. It was easier to go to the owlery this way. She looked up. The sky was cloudy tonight.
Flying higher, she made it to the owlery. She went inside and held her wand up. "Lumos." She whispered, careful not to startle the birds. As soon as the light came on, a few owls started screeching. Raven went up a few steps to get to the top of the owlery and waited by a small opening where the owl's arrived. "Come on...I'm tired and don't have all night." Finally she could see an owl in the distance. "Good." Raven muttered, and held out her arm for the owl to land. She had a treat in her hand already and gave it to the large, brown speckled owl, who graciously took it into her mouth. Raven unhooked the letter tied to the owls ankle and began to read.
After only a few minutes, Raven crumbled up the paper. "You've got to be kidding me..." Raven sighed.
((?)) Stacey was in the owlery about ten minutes after Raven had arrived. She didn`t mean to follow her. "I.. I didn`t mean to follow you." Stacey really hadn`t. When she saw the look on her face she continued. "What?"
Stuffing the wrinkled piece of paper into her pocket, Raven looked away from Stacey.
"It's nothing of your concern.." She said and took a piece of parchment from a box and grabbed a quil. She quickly scribbled something onto the parchment, rolled it up, and attached it to the owl's leg. "Send this to Grace Bravehart." She said.
Stacey looked at Raven with confusion, she went over and also grabbed a piece of parchment and a quill. She wrote a short note and called her owl, she tied it to its leg and said "Send it home." She looked at Raven. "A note to my mom."
Raven yawned. "I'll be off to bed." She hopped onto her broom and flew off to the lowest window in the school, going to the common room.
Stacey watched Raven leave, then made another note, whistled, and a tawny owl flew to her arm. She attahed the note it ist leg and walked to the window. "You know what to do." She said to the bird.
