It was nighttime, Stacey was laying on a blanket, staring at the stars. She was wearing blue jeans and a grey sweater. She had a chain around her neck, and there was something on it, but you couldn`t see it because it was under the edge of her shirt. She sighed and looked at the Big Dipper.
Raven stood quietly behind Stacey. Quite distant, but unnoticable. She had an angered expression upon her face. She reached for her pocket. "Get your wand." Raven said to her.
Stacey hadn`t noticed Raven behind her and jumped up when she spoke, she had her wand pointed at her, but lowered it when she saw who it was. "Why?"
Raven's eyes were piercing. A glare that could easily be seen through the darkness. Despite her blue eyes, they were full of darkness themselves. Such hate...such anger. She gripped her wand even tighter but held it at her side.
"I know what you felt at the lake. You wanted to attack me, but couldn't because of Billie." She paused and smirked. "Well nobody is here to stop you now. Let's duel."
"I want to look at the stars, not duel. You made me mad, so I fired. So what? It happens all the time." Stacey was a little tired, she just wanted to continue looking at the different constelations.
Raven was furious. "It does NOT happen all the time. You are simply a coward. You attack then play it safe. Well I don't. I finish what is started."
"Yea, people do go off all the time." Stacey replied defiantly. Stacey didn`t like it when people were so persistant. "And I am not a coward." Stacey added. That was the one thing that she hated to be called.
A small pair of blue eyed peered out of the woods. Eyes that were like waves crashing against the shore, seeing eyes, but not seen. The eyes of a Siren. Jackie stood back in the wood just her head peering out of a large bush. Her hair was pulled back and concealed, because it had a tendency to glimmer and shine in the moon light, giving her away. But luckily there was no moon tonight, just stars, dappling the night sky like a thousand tears, shed by mother nature herself.
((Pretty huh?))
Stacey realized something. "You don`t know why I was mad? Do you?" She aked Raven.
"I don't care why you were mad!" Raven said, her grip loosening just a bit. "Doesn't mean you should of attacked me like you did." Raven smirked. "Are you afraid to duel me?" She asked, after a moment passed by.
Jackie frowned, still hidden in the shadows. She made no reach for her wand however, she just stood there. Finally she decided that if something had to be done she would be ready. She drew a stream of water, that floated through the air, unseen, toward her. She twisted her hands, and the water formed into a ball like a water ballon without a balloon. She held it in the palm of her hand.
Stacey sensed something moving near the wate, but when she looked, nothing. She turned back to Raven. "You really don`t understand." Stacey said. Her eyes turning a dark grey. "You have no idea. And it does matter!" Stacey said, raising her voice slightly.
Leah appeared behind Jackie. Her footsteps were unheard. She had the ability to make herself pretty much invisible. She could stand so still that you wouldn't notice her, and could walk so quiet that you wouldn't hear her even if she was right next to you. She whispered, *What are you watching?* Her whisper was like the breeze, only heard by the one it was meant to be heard by.
Jackie jumped and looked back throwing the ball of water at whoever was behind her. "Who's there?" She whispered scared out of her mind.
Stacey heard a noise from somewhere in the trees and drew her wand. "Who`s there?" She asked as she took a few steps closer to the trees.
Raven looked at Stacey then ran over to the trees. She had her wand pointed ahead of her. As she slowly peeked behind the tree's, she could see two girls. Raven's wand poked Jackie in the forehead. "What are you two doing here?" She asked in a whisper.
"I could be asking the same thing now couldn't I?" Jackie replied in a stubborn tone with her eyes swirling around, now dark blue.
Stacey rolled her eyes. "By now you should kow that I`m usually out late." She said, lowering her wand. She bent down and picked up a rock and held it in her hand. After a few moments passed, she poured the molten rock out of her palm. She had to do something and she knew she couldn`t blow some one up.
Leah was splashed with the water. It didn't last long, she quickly dried herself and cursed Jackie for revealing their location. *Quiet.* She said in a low, but commanding voice. *I'm sorry. WE'RE sorry.* She cast a side glance at Jackie and prayed that she would go with it. *We were out late, and saw you, and we wanted to spy. It was fun while it lasted, but we'll just go now. And again, we're truly sorry.* Leah looked at Jackie again, praying that she would follow. She looked back at Raven and Stacey, nodding curtly. Then, she was gone.
"Whatever." Jackie said sighing. "I was out spying on you, but I'm only sorry I got caught." She added with a small smile no more intimidated. "But I'm not leaving, I think I'll be sticking around by the lake. Maybe practice my water element. Not tired yet."
Leah heard Jackie and she wanted to scream. She thought fiercly to her, ~Tell them that you're leaving and come with me!~
Stacey rolled her eyes. "Why must you guys have to act this way?" She picked up another rock and melted it too.
"Yeah, so you think so too? Mira says I can be very annoying st times. Oh, well." She sighed and then took a running jumo at the water soundlessly diving in and disappearing beneath the surface.
Leah appeared in front of Stacey. *Watch what you say to my friends...* She glanced at the melted rock and added, *Showoff* before following Jackie into the lake.
Aiden sat on a rock. He had a sketchpad and was drawing on it. Nothing of any importance, only random things that came to his mind. His hair was spiked and he wore a plain black band tee with some black jeans and his studded bracelet. He heard a splash in the distance, obviously it came from the lake. Aiden picked up his things and went to investigate who it was. He walked through the bushes and saw a few girls hanging on the shore, some swimming in the water. Aiden sat his possesions under a tree and walked over to them.
Leah resurfaced, needing air. Then she noticed Aiden. ~Who's that...~ She thought to Jackie sending her a mental picture of Aiden.
Aiden walked closer to them. He didn't know anyone except Stacey so he decided he would introduce himself, which he wasn't to fond of doing. "Hey, I'm Aiden." he said to them, he smiled a little. "What are y'all doing?" Aiden asked.
Nate appeared through the forest, he swerved around twisted dark trees using his night vision to see forward to where he had seen a gather of people. His curiousity took over and he walked over cautiously trying not to make a sound. He hid behind a old maple tree that was twice his width. He felt invisible and his eyes turned into slits as he looked into where this event was happening.
Stacey looked up at Aiden. "Hi." She said to him. She threw a silver bolt over to a tree, revealing Nate.
"Hey..." Aiden replied quietly. He ducked as Stacey threw the silver bolt. He turned around and saw Nate. Aiden blinked and sat down, folding his arms.
Nate smiled smudgly his eyes turning back to his dark color and his eyes sparkling. He walked towards them,"Howd you know i was there? i didnt even make a sound."
Stacey smiled as Nate walked up, momentarily forgetting Aiden. "It`s my little secret." She said in a mysterious voice. She looked at Aiden and saw how he was sitting. "What`s the matter?" She asked him in a quiet voice.
Aiden looked at her. "Oh, nothing. I'm fine" he said, eyeing Nate for a moment. "Why do I seem like somethings the matter?" Aiden asked, looking back at Stacey.
Stacey thought she knew what was wrong. "Nothing`s the matter."
Aiden nodded. He stood up and leaned against a tree. He looked at the lake and watched the waves.
Jackie came up to resurface, even though she didn't have to. "Wow, when I dove under there weren't nearly as many people here." She said looking around, her blue eyes matching the water perfectly. "So I heard an explosion. No one's dead right?" She asked motioning to the destroyed tree.
Nate looked at them two confused. He didnt say anything, tucking his bottom lip in and staring off into the dark trees, *somethings not right*, he thought to himself.
Jackie looked at Nate a small dent forming between her eyebrows. "Whats wrong?" She asked climbing onto the banks of the lake.
Aiden looked at a girl he didn't know walk up. He scratched the back of his head and scraped his foot over the ground.
Stacey heard Nate`s thoughts. *Everything`s fine.* She thought in a soothing voice. "No one`s dead, Jackie."
"Hm... well, thats a relief I guess." Jackie said a bit absent mindedly. She was still trying to figure out the reason behind the look that came over Nate's face.
Aiden stood there feeling awkward and uncomfortable. He looked at the girl he didn't know. "Hey. I'm Aiden." He introduced himself quietly. "Whats your name?"
Nate sighed feeling a little weird, *Im gonna go, k?* he thought to Stacey.
Jackie turned her head to the kid whom she knew as Aiden. "I'm Jackie." She said still not completely in the conversation. She turned to Nate like he actually said something out loud. "Why?" She said out loud not realizing Nate had thought that not said it. Jackie actually hated being able to read minds, it was more a telepathic communication, something she had perfected and trained with, but was now just annoying,
Stacey looked sadly at Nate, forgetting about Aiden again.
Nate looked at Jackie quizzically and then glanced at Stacey. His eyes blank, he blocked them so no one could read how he was feeling. He shook his head and put on a smile,"I have some books i wanted to catch up on," he said in a light nice voice.
She stepped out of the water and came to stand by Jackie. ~I don't believe him, but I can't be sure why.~ Leah thought to Jackie.
Jackie sighed and almost laughed at the look Nate gave her. ~I don't know, but obviously its not our buisness.~ She replied in thought.
Stacey nodded. She didn`t know if Nate wanted her to come along or not, so she just stood there.
~He made that obvious enough.~ Leah thought back. She continued watching the others.
Aiden stood there awkwardly. He looked at everyone. He sighed very quietly and sat down. He began to mess with his wristband, feeling uncormfortable.
Leah went to sit by Aiden and said, *Cool wristband.*
Aiden looked up and smiled shortly but only for a moment. "Thanks" he said quietly. "What year are you?" he asked.
