Lavy sat outside the school on the steps, almost scared to go in. She sighed, disappointed in herself for disappering, again, for the millionth time. She knew there we're people there that wanted her there and depended on her but life, it seemed, was falling apart right before her eyes.
All the hold she had on reality was vanishing, leaving nothing but her old self behind. The Lavy that had walked into the school doors wondering if she would even make it through the day let alone the year. The Lavy that tried to shut people out all the time. The Lavy that she hated in herself. She waited, for something. A cue or a sign that everything would be alright.
Stacey had gone to HOgsmead and was just now coming back. She saw the girl on the stairs, she had never met the girl, but she knew the looke on her face. She sat down next to her. "Are you okay?" She said sofly.
Lavy looked up at the strange girl and smiled weakly. She didn't recognize her but then again she didn't know very many people at Hogwarts anymore. A lot of her old friends were gone now it seemed.
"I've definitely had much better days then today," She held out her hand, "I'm Lavy. Pleased to meet you..."
Stacey took her hand and shook it. "I`m Stacey. Do you need something?" Stacey asked, not knowing what was bothering the girl.
Lavy chuckled and leaned back on the step behind her, "I could use a new life, if you've got one of those stored in you're back pocket."
Pete walked out of the forest and saw two girls by the front door. One looked troubled and the other looked like she was trying to help her. Pete walked slowly up to them. He looked at the troubled girl and gave a small smile. "Hello, Is everything alright?" he asked, then looked at the other girl and smiled. "I don't think we've met" he said to her. "I'm Peter Jones, but I go by Pete" he said to both of them.
"Hi." Stacey said to Pete. Then she turned back to Lavy. "No, I`m sorry. But, I think I know someone who could help you." Stacey looked back at Pete. ((Pete and Billie are related right?))
Lavy smiled back at the boy, "Nice to met you Pete. I'm Lavy."
She saw that her effect on attracting others wasn't diminished in anyway which made her a little more cheerful. She ran her fingers through her long hair and sat up more straight again. She turned back to Stacey.
"Really, and who might this person be?"
"Well, if I`m correct," Stacey looked at Pete. "Billie can." Stacey looked at Pete.
"And who, if I may ask, is Billie," She looked at Pete as well.

Pete just stood there, waiting and wondering who Stacey was talking about. Pete looked back at Lavy and was happy to see her smiling. He leaned up against the railing of the steps and looked at them. Pete heard her response. "No" he said simply. "She can't" he added. There was only one way to change anyone into a vampire, and he was pretty sure Lavy wouldn't want that. "Billie is my sister, and unless you want to leave the human world behind she can't help you" he said
"That`s not what I meant." Stacey lowered her voice. "Can`t she erase people`s minds?"
"Yes, but I'm pretty sure Lavy wouldn't want her memories erased, even the bad ones" he said smiling slightly
Lavy actually laughed, hearing Pete's thoughts about Billie, "I have died once. It was intresting I must admit. But I'm not realy willing to go back there. So no, I don't think Billie can help me. I have a different type of problems. That can't be solved by that type of death and would probably only get worse if I couldn't remember anything."
She shrugged, "I would tell you my probelms, but you two looked like you were having such good days before you came across me."
"Not really, I just look happy." Stacey said gloomily, her eyes turned a dark grey.
She nodded, understanding the feeling, "Well I may have my own problems, but I can still help others if you ever need it. I use to come here...a long time ago it seems. If you ever need anyone to talk to, I'm the girl you should hit up for a late night talk."
"Oh, you don`t want to be telling me that, I`m up all night, with very little sleep if at all."
Pete smiled. "I'm always happy after I eat" he said. "And she would kill you, just turn you into one of us, which takes time and its painful" he said. Pete sat down in front of them.
"I've been bitten by a vampire before. Not pleasent, yes. I agree with you. But off the subject of me for a moment, tell me about yourselves."
Pete laughed. "Billie and I aren't that type of Vampire. When we bite someone they enjoy it, and can't change into one of us like that" he said. "Hmm about me I'm in my seveth year, I am a full blood vampire. I like skipping classes, and I like to eat and spend time with people" he said smiling.
Lavy smiled, a little taken aback by him. It had been a while since she had meet a vampire like him, who could control themselves enough to be around humans.
"Fascinating," she said with real intrigue, "Tell me more."
"Well when I bite someone they enjoy it" he said with a smirk on his face. "And in order to change someone into vampire we have to put our blood in their veins." He said and showed her his wrist. "The best way to do it is to cut the wrist on the person then on ourselfs then let a few drops of our blood fall into the cut" he said. He had a few faint scars that were almost gone. "I myself have only changed three people" he said. "It was to protect them though" he added. "They died soon afterwards though" he said with sadness in his voice. "And the only way we control ourselfs around people is we eat at night in the forest" he said smiling slightly.
Lavy moved downa step, closer to him. "How old are you?"
"I'm 17" He said. "What year are you in?" he asked her.

"7th. But I'm 16," Lavy paused, wondering if she wanted to ask her next question. She decided she did. "You've been alive for 17 years or you 'died' when you were 17?"

As Rheese turned the corner to go down the stairs he saw three people sitting there. As he got closer he noticed one was Stacey the other two he didn't know. "Hey Stacey.....umm I don't think I know you two" Rheese said pointing to the strangers."I'm Rheese Dallows" Rheese said smiling
Pete thought for a moment then smiled. "Well actually I was born" Pete stopped and thought about it. ".. about 76 years ago" he said. "I was born vampire" he said. "My mom and real father were both vampires" he said. Pete stopped talking as he heard a voice behind him. "I'm Peter Jones, but people call me Pete" he said.
Lavy looked away from Pete to the new arrivial. "Rheese Dallows," the name rang a bell for her somewhere deep in her memory but she could place were she had heard the name before. She let that nagging feeling go
"I'm Lavy Brown. Nice to meet you." She turned back to Pete.
"76. You're pretty young, if I might say so myself."
"Yeah my mom is like 450 or something liek that and Alan is 700 I think" he said. "I'm glad I'm young" he said. "Billies only 70" he said.
"I hope you don't find it weird, me asking all these questions I mean. I can't help myself. When I meet someone new I want to know all about them and you....well you're one of a kind to tell you the truth."
Pete smiled. "I don't mind questions.. just as long as I can answer them" he said.
"Hello Lavy, Pete nice to meet you both. So your a vampire Pete? Thats pretty cool" Rheese said amazed
"He is kinda cool, isn't he," Lavy nodded in agreement with Rheese.
Pete just looked at them. He wasn't sure if they understood what a pain beign a vampire was. "You know its not as cool as you think" he said smiling. "But its pretty fun"
"Yes Yes it is so Lavy do you have any powers" Rheese asked curiously
Lavy looked at Rheese and smiled, "I do."
Pete smiled it was his turn to ask questions. "What kind of powers?" he asked.
"I can hear others thoughts, if I so choose," she added, wanting them to know that she would be invading their privacy unless necessary, "I can control the for elements, I can heal people and I have very strong telepathy. Nothing too cool if you ask me."
Pete was wowed. "Thats awesome I can't control any elements" he said. "What all can you do telepathy?" he asked.
Pete was suddenly lifted into the air twenty feet aabove them all and turned upside down. He swayed there for a few moments before he was turned rightside up again and then placed gently back on the ground next to Lavy.
"Just one of the many things I can do with my telepathy."
Pete smiled. "That was pretty awesome" he said. "I can do a few things I mean I can move smaller things and make them break and stuff, but I can only move people when I'm really mad" he said.
Lavy laughed and stood up. She brushed off the back of her blue jeans. "You don't want to see me using telepathy when I'm mad."
Pete smiled. "I most likey don't" he said. "If you can do that when your calm, then you must be able to do a lot more when you are mad" he said.
Jackie swerved around the corner, obviously having nothing to do. "Pete, Stacey... and two people I don't know..." Jackie said half smiling. "Well, I'm Jackie, and..." She stopped looking at the girl she didn't know. "H-have I seen you before?" She asked a bit baffled.
Lavy shrugged, "I swing by here once in a blue moon when my life starts falling apart. So you might have, yes."
She looked away from everyone out over the lake. She really did miss this place sometimes. It felt like home. Somehow in the few hours she had been back she had managed to meet four new people. She liked feeling like...she wasn't ''something that needed to be dealt with''. She shivered at the memory of those words that had once been said about her. She wanted to feel like the people around her wanted to be around her because they liked her, not because she could do something for them. Her bright bubble abrutly popped, leaving her feeling lonely again.
Jackie looked at Lavy's face, studying it. It was if her blue eyes were looking through her. "Is something bothering you?" Jackie asked tentativly.
"Yes actually, to be honest with you."
Stacey greeted the people that just stepped into the concersation. ((which seems to be a lot, someone was busy over the past 24 hours)) She had kinda blacked out for a few minutes.

"Oh, no trust me. I'll be fine. I don't really have dreams except for about water. That might sound really weird, but considering that I'm a Siren. Its pretty normal." Jackie replied thinking a bit.
Lavy shrugged, decideing that she really did want to tell someone,"I guess I should start at the beginning so please get comforatable. It's a long story."
Pete sat back slightly and looked at her and waited.
"This all started about two years ago. I met a man who, to be honest with you, I fell in love with. Not the cheesy, teenager love. Real ''I would give up everything for you'' love. But about three months ago everything seemed to start and fall apart. He went missing for about three weeks and when he came back he was completly different. He hated everything and everyone and he told me he never wanted to see me again. After that it just all went downhill from there."
Pete didn't know what to say. He felt bad for her. He has had hi sheart broken many times, but her love sounded ten times worse. It sadden him. "Do you know why he hated everything?" he asked her.
Jackie stared into space for a moment. She had never really loved a guy. She couldn't, she wouldn't, she could never know if he liked her for her, not her Siren form. "How was he different when he came back?" Jackie asked with enough emotion in her voice that she was comforting, but not so she was faking.
"I don't know. But I know it's over now. He almost let me die a month ago. He just stood there while I was bleeding on the floor. Just the look in his eyes told me he didn't care anymore. I'm just another pawn in his game."
She paused, wondering if she wanted to go any farther, "He wants me dead. He came after me last night. That's why I'm here. This is the only place he can't touch me. I don't want you guys to think less of him. Something happened to him when he went missing. I just haven't figured it out."
"Well, the fact that he tried to kill you, that explains that he changed. But why come after you?" Jackie said, partly muttering to herself. "There is just one question that I have. Who is he?" She asked aloud and clearly.
"Harsh." Stacey mumbled when Lavy made her last comment.
"His name's Neo. And I don't know why he came after me. I just know I don't want to give him another chance."
(o if anyone reads this and they know Neo don't worry, we've never had this conversation. He had no idea i'm totally ruining him lol :D but anyways.....yeah)
"Oh, well I understand that." JAckie said half smiling.
"Yeah," She sighed out of frustration, "Can you belive that after all of this I still love him? I mean after all he's put me though you would think that I would never want to look or speak to him again. But even last night, before he attacked me I was happy to see him. Kinda sad, huh?"
Stacey stood up, she decided that this conversation was to much for her right now. "Hey, I`m gonna head in." She said, swallowing a lump in her throat.

"There's something about this place that he doesn't like. I don't know what it is but whatever it is keeps him away. Even in the state he's in I don't think he'll come here."
Lavy turned to Pete, "I guess so. I just feel stupid that I didn't see it coming. I'm usually pretty good at things like that."
"Well it was something that you didn't want to happen, so you probably didn't want to except it." Pete said making a guess.
Lavy shrugged and sat back down next to Pete, "I don't really now what to think about this anymore. Four months ago we where the two happies people on earth and now I he's trying to kill me...." Her voice trailed off.
"But, let's stop being depressing for a just a minute. Tell me what's been going on here?"
"Nothing much, besides the fact, that I was a Siren. Other than that though..." Jackie said thinking.
"Other then that what....please do tell. I really am so far out of the loop it really is almost embarrassing. I've been wrapped so tightly around everyone's little finger that I haven't been paying any attetion to the people and the place I really do feel is my home."
"Well, oh, Ginny and Cody. Cody really has some amazing powers. There's been some trouble from the ministry with that though. Some trouble indeed. My cousin Miranda went to a court case and it was very... invasive. I would say by the way she described it." Jackie said deep in thought. "Oh, pardon me. You do know Ginny, don't you?" She asked snapping out of her trance she was in.
Lavy smiled, "Better then a lot of people I suppose. She was one the first people I befriended when I first came here."
"She might like to see you. If only I could find her. I never see her except for during classes. She must have a lot going on, I suppose." Jackie said sighing, she liked this Lave girl. She was one of the first people she had been able to hold a conversation with in days. Normally people just go running off like everything is more important than a nice conversation with a friend.
Pete sat there and listened. "Also Harry and Chos kids started here, and Sarah and Sirius's two younger ones started here" He said adding about things that have happened recently at Hogwarts.
"Yeah, she's always busy. That's Ginny's life, hectic and none stop. I don't think she would know what to do with herself if she had free time." Lavy laughed, "But I'm sure she knows I'm here by now. Ginny won't miss something like that."
"I wouldn't worry. It seems as if Ginny knows everything." Jackie said smiling. "I'm sure that she's aware of your arrival."
She nodded, "She is."
Stacey was beggining to get dizzy as she took a few steps inside. ((we`re still on the stairs right?)) She swayed slightly as she walked, she didn`t feel to good.
"Oh, I don't know everything." Ginny said with a small smile as she came up the steps behind the small group. Casually, she placed a hand on Stacey's back, steading the girls body in case she did as it seemed she was about to do and nodded at the rest.
She smiled right at Lavy, a gleaming grin.
"Long time no see!" She said, with a small laugh.
Ginny in fact, hadn't changed a bit in looks. She still looked as if she was 17 years old, except she seemed to have been sleeping a bit better since then.
Pete looked up and saw Ginny standing behind them. He was slightly frightened, but a small smile appeared on his face after a while. Pete then looked away, and glanced around.
Rheese saw Ginny coming down the stairs and wondered how Lavy would react seeing her old friend. Rheese had heard of Ginny and heard some stories about her too, but never really met her."Hi uh...professor Weasly I'm Rheese Dallows" Rheese said unsure of what to say.
Pete quickly looked over to Rheese. He had forgotten that he had even been here. Pete studied him then looked away. Pete leaned back against the stair railing and looked ar everyone.
Ginny smiled sweetly, nodding at Rheese as a hello.
"Nice to meet you, Rheese." Unlike other teacher's Ginny usually referred to her students by their first names.
With on hand still on Stacey's back, she used her free hand to brush her vibrant red hair away from her eyes as she nodded to Pete as well. She'd seen him before, was aware that he was Billie's brother, but knew nothing of him otherwise.
She looked back at Lavy immediately after and grinned.
"Talking about me, were you?" She questioned, her words teasing, yet kind.
Lavy was grinning from ear to ear, "You don't miss a thing do you. I swear you have ears all around this place, tuned in just to hear when people mention you."
Lavy jumped up and hugged Ginny. Not just a hug. A huge 'I haven't seen you in years it feels' bear hug that would have left a normal person gasping for breath. But then again, nither Ginny or Lavy were ever described as normal.
Ginny laughed, hugging Lavy back with her free arm. She shook her head, "No, I just have the wonderful luck of turning up when people talk about me."
She chuckled, her face bright and happy.
"It's not always a good thing, you know." She said, "I never get surprise birthday parties because of it."
"Well, one day I promise that I will manage to get you one. It might be hard but, hey... I've got time on my hands and you of all people know I love a challenge. A completely improbable but not entirely impossible challenge."
Lavy stepped back to look at Ginny, "God, you don't look any different then when I last saw you."
She smiled, shaking her head, "I suppose not." She agreed, "Except my son and Xaver tell me I get prettier every day that passes." She laughed, taking the whole thing lightly.
Ginny was 21, but nothing had changed about her physical appearance since she was 16. She hadn't even grown taller.
"Well, I don't know about all that..." Lavy said sarcastically, "Nut you never know. I haven't been around much lately. They would definitely know more about that then I would."
"I would hope so!" Ginny said, laughing loudly. She shook her head, "Lavy, I have missed you." She told her happily.
"I'm glad you're back."
"It feels good being home again. Cause no matter how many times I leave this place still feels like home."
Jackie sighed. "Ginny, I'm still trying to figure out how you always pop up at the right places at just the right times. If only I could do that." Jackie said pondering the possibilities.
Ginny laughed, "It's a curse. Trust me."
She shook her head, "I know what everyone thinks of me. I am spared nothing when someone doesn't like me, because I always manage to walk past just as they say my name." She grinned at Jackie.
Ginny looked back to Lavy, nodding under the weight of the other's words.
"That's because it is home, Lavy. There was never any place safer, or with more friends than Hogwarts." She paused, "Well, it's a bit different for me. The Burrow was a grand place to grow up. But still.."
She looked up, around, and then back at Lavy.
"There is no place like Hogwarts."
Lavy smiled and nodded, "It will always be like that....."
Lavy looked away from them all out over the grounds. She loved the way this place made her feel. Not just welcome or loved, but warm. Every bone in her body felt like it was being gently warmed from the inside out. It was a pleasent senation.
"How are all the rest of the Weasly's?"
Ginny shrugged, "Alright, I suppose. The only one I really see besides my parents is Ron. He's doing ok."
Ginny tugged on her hair with a smile, "The rest of them, well, the last I heard they were all ok."
