Stacey sighed, she was walking towrds the lake. She couldn`t sleep again. She sat down in the cool grass and rested her chiin on her palms. The moon was reflected in the black water of the lake. She saw a shadow on the lake. She turned around to find....
Nate was reading a book when he saw Stacey walking and sit down onto the ground. He had set his book down about the methods of the majestic arts of magic. Big word yeah i know. He smiled as Stacey turned her head,"Hey." He sat down beside her, and looked towards the glimmering water of the lake.
"Hi." Stacey replied. She saw the book. "You don`t seem like the type to read." She said, turning back to the water.
He smiled, looking down at the book,"Yeah thats what alot of people say. Reading is one of the only hobbies im good at besides running..." he said as he rambled on about nothing.
Stacey smiled as she stared into the dark water. "Soem people say girls talk to much, but it`s quite the opposite." She looked over and smiled at Nate.
He smiled, putting his arm around Staceys shoulder, bringing her closer, playfully,"Yeah well maybe thats a good thing but you have to admit, you can tend to talk alot?"
Stacey eyes shot purple: she suddenly felt mixxed emmotions. She felt awkward with Nate`s arm around her while at the same time she felt happy that his arm was around her. "I can admit to everything I do." She answered, checking to make sure her mind block was still working.
Nate removed his arm from her shoulder as he realized what he had just done. He slid his hands around his knees,"Oh..umm sorry about that. Reflexes i guess,"he said shyly as he turned his head back towards the gimmering water.
((Took ya a while to reply! Let`s make it the present instead of way back when.))
Stacey narrowed her eyes slightly. "I didn`t mind." She said softly. "Really, I didn`t. I mean, I understand about you and Jackie, but that wasn`t too... too much, I guess."
((hey it didnt say that it was in my new replies. Give me a break haha))
Nate turned his head and locked eyes with her,"You guess? I think it was enough to make it awkward," he replied.
Stacey tore her eyes away from Nate`s gaze and stared at the ground. "But it wasn`t awkward." She said truthfully. "Not for me at least."
Nate still sitting with his hands around his knees, plopped on the ground as his back hit it lazily. His legs stretched out,"Yeah until after, then it felt awkward," he said quietly.
Stacey hugged her knees, not wanting to lay down next to him, that would be awkward. "Yea, but that was your fault." She teased, trying to make the mood lighter.
Nate smiled,"Yeah, i guess."
Stacey bit her lip, hard. She remained silent. The cool night air was getting a little chilly now, she looked up, trying to somehow know what time it was.
Nate shook his head as he realized what he sounded like,"I, i didnt mean it that way," he stuttered as he tried to make the words fit.
Stacey glanced at him shyly. "I know what you meant." She reassured softly. She fixed her eyes on a single spot on the ground.
Nate shuffled uncomfortable and sat straight up again. His shaggy hair messy from rubbing against the ground but he didnt really notticed nor cared," I, uh feel like utterly sh*t."
Stacey laughed. Uncontrolably. She laughed for at least five solid minutes. She couldn`t help it. "Don`t we all feel utterly like sh*t?!" She exclaimed when she could talk.
Nate smiled and ruffled his shaggy hair,"Yeah i guess thats true."
Stacey stoped laughing but had a huge smile on her face. "You`re da*m right it`s true!" She exclaimed.
Nate chuckled at her sudden change of mood,"Hah yeah, im a sucker for feeling like utter sh*t."
Stacey laughed again. "Aren`t we all?" She said, slightly calmer.
He shook his hair, trying to make it not so disorientated,"I like being friends," he smiled calmly.
Stacey`s smile faltered for a second, but she kept herself composed. "I like being friends, too." She whispered softly. Her eyes shot purple.
He looked at the ground, blushing slightly but not too noticable,"I think i need a friend more than anything. And your great at being one."
Stacey nodded, still smiling. "I need a friend too." She said softly.
He said childishly,"Pinkey promise." He stuck his hand out, with his pinky out. But moved it away fast before she could reach it teasingly.
Stacey rolled her eyes. "You`re so immature." She teased.
nate wimked,"Nu-uh!"
Stacey gently pushed him. "Yes huh!" She insisted.
"I'm not immature just not mature," he said matter of factly.
Stacey pushed him again. "Just keep telling yourself that."
Nate let her push him as he just smiled foolishly. "I will!"
Stacey couldn`t help but have a huge grin on her face. "Dork!" She exclaimed. She slowly sat on the ground, her legs a little sore from standing so long.
He glared at her but smiled,"I know, you dont have to tell me."
Stacey laughed and put her back flat to the ground, arms spread out, and stared at the sky. She sighed happily, her eyes bright.
"But you have to agree you are a pretty big dork yourself," he teased.
Stacey tilted her ehad so she could see Nate. "I got it from hangin` around with you too much." She complained.
Nate put his hands up defensively,"Hey dont blame it on me. Dorkyness cant just rub off on me and onto you, it's just not how it rolls," he said playfully.
Stacey laughed and looked back up to the sky. All she saw was bright blue, no clouds at all. "Well, mabey you`re just rubbing off on me." She teased.
"Not possible," he replied cooly,"Its not contagious."
Stacey laughed again. "Wow." She said softly with a smile.
"Hey it's in science, learn about it sometime," he teased.
Stacey giggled and rolled her eyes. "I`m almost positive that I know more about science than you." She teased back.
Nate shrugged his shoulders,"Ehh probably true." He teased.
Stacey rolled her eyes again. "For a vampire, you can be really stupid." She commented.
"I disagree, what if i'm just trying to act stupid to make you look smart," he replied.
Stacey gracefully let her hand go to her neck. "But we already know I`m smart." She teased.
"No i got to disagree with you there. I never thought you were smart," he whispered. "Just a smart alec," he smiled.
Stacey smiled. "I repeat; You are mean." She wrinkled her nose.
He shrugged his shoulders,"And you are stubborn."
Stacey shrugged like Nate. "What`s your point?" She asked.
