Nate had just recieved a horrifying phone call that had made his heart leap from his body. The only person who had payed attention to me had just have to leave me forever. His little sister had just suffered a horrible disease, and her body had become weaker and weaker as she had lived. No one had told me, Why...Why? He had recieved the phone call from a nurse from the Layside hospital near his old home he had used to live until he had found out about Hogwarts. He didnt want to leave his sister, but it was the only way to control his powers. Millly was my sisters name, she was outgoing and loved to swing, she was the only person who understood me and now that she is gone..forever, i dont know really who i am anymore.
Nate sat down on his dorms floor, feeling the ragged carpets fabric against his sweaty palms. A tear hadweld up in his eye, as he thought of the fun times he had had with his sister. He couldnt stay still, he needed to move, he needed to do something..anything to get hsi mind off of it. He walked out into the stormy outdoors, where the rain was raining hard and the clouds were rolling violently towards him, as if it was duplicating his feelings and his thoughts. He fell to the wet grass onto his knees, feeling the pain burst in him, his blood rushing fast, tears had mixed with the rain as he put his hands over his face and weeped, feeling unnoticable and dreadful.
Lavy was already dripping wet when she walked out of the shelter of the forest trees into the real rain. Her hair was laying limply against her thin shirt. She kept having to move it out of her eyes. It was almost pitch black dark, except for those moments when lightning would flash above her.
So she was completely caught off guard when she fell over something, right into the wet grass. She sat up and looked around her in the dark, seeing something laying there. She looked closer and saw that it was a boy, about her age. Even in the dark she could tell he was miserable.
"Are.....are you ok?" She asked, yelling over all the noise the rain was making.
As Billie came walking out of the forrest she heard a someone yelling, and Billie guessed it was because of the storm. For some reason when it was storming bad enough Billies senses were amazing. She could hear everything around her, and she could she through the rain as if it wasn't raining.
She walked towards were the voice came from and could feel that someone wasn't happy, but seemed like they were depressed. Billie walked towards them and caught the scent of human, and vampire blood. *Lavy, but who's the other one?* Billie thought to herself as she walked towards them. She went through the names of most of the vampire at school. *Megan? No. Pete? No. Leah? No. Holly? No it can't be any of them. Wait could it be. Yes it is* Billie thought to herself as she could now see who it was. Lavy and Nate.
Nate was upset this Billie could have found out without being a vampire. It seemed as if his whole world had gone crashing down. Billie could see and hear his tear drops falling. "Nate?" Billie asked in a slightly loud voice. "What happened?" she asked as she stopped and stood near were Lavy was.
Nate lifted his face, his hair drenched to his face making it appear darker than it really was. His sorrowful eyes looked up at the two girls, feeling a little uncomfortable. His voice cracky and more of a whisper,"I..i dont get it." He didnt think when he said it, he just said it and that was all.
Billie sat down on her knees. "You don't get what?" she asked. "Maybe we should go inside so we don't have to yell, and you can calm down and little and tell us what happened" Billie said her voice was calm, but still a little scared for him.
His clothes were soaking wet and his body was cold but for somereason going inside sent a cold chill down his spine. He shook his head slowly, but then decided he had no reason to base on his opinion. He looked down, not facing their gaze," Sure," he said quietly but loud enough for them to hear. He lifted himself off the ground landing perfectly on his feet, and looked at them with dreadful blank eyes.
Lavy stood up as well and moved her hair out of her eyes again. One minutes they were outside in the pouring rain and the next they were inside the Gryffindor common room. There was a small fire inside the fireplace so she simply pointed at it and it began to burn brighter and warmer.
"So...what were you doing out in the rain?" She asked Nate, ringing out the bottom of her shirt.
Billie stood near the fire and waited to here what had happened to Nate. She was completely drenched and she began to ring out her hair by twisting it. She took off her converse and sat them near the fire then leaned against the fire place to get warmer.
A wet snow leopard stumbled over towards the group. Stacey appered where the snow leopard had been. "What`s this gathering for?"
Nate looked up his eyes blank and dark as he saw Stacey appear. He sat on the couch, putting his wet and dirty knees, wrapping his arms around them. His hair sticking still from his face, making him feel a lil more invisable, which helped. He began to feel even more uncomfortable, he didnt want to be the center of attention. He thought for a long second thinking of anything to say back, but nothing came to mind. He just stared like a lost puppy saying nothing to all of them.
"You know that because I`m right next to a person that can read you mind. But you look sad." Stacey said, wringing out her short hair. "Do you feel like sharing?" She asked, sitting next to Nate on the couch. Her eyes turned a sympathetic brown.
He felt like a little boy again, when everybody felt bad for him. He was speechless, this isnt how he wanted it to go. He just wanted to cry in the rain and then sleep in the dark and be invisable. He was confused was more like the word. He looked down at his pants not daring to look up,"I just lost my sister. Shes gone," He said more like a whisper. He could feel a tear run down his eye, but he wiped it, hoping no one noticed. Guys dont cry is what his dad said when he was a little boy. And so he gulped down the tears, holding them back.
Stacey put a hand on Nate`s shoulder. "It`s okay. I know how you feel more than you know." She said in a quiet voice. "And it`s okay to cry. You be surprised how often I still do."
He still douldnt dare look up, scared to see that this was happening. His face pale, his hands shaking, his stomach clenching, and his heart throbbing as he looked up slowly, but this time only straight ahead at nothing, his thoughts running fast in his mind. His voice a little deeper than last time," They didnt even tell me." His eyes swelled to a deep black, his heart beating faster, and his anger rising. This isnt the time for you to be angry he thought to himself, not around them.
"It`s okay." Stacey said, patting his shoulder. "You can`t change what`s been done. It`s okay for you to be angry, I would be too. It`s okay to be angry." She said.
Nate suddenly became to feel awkward. He jerked his head, he felt like he was being stared at, more like being watched, and so he followed his intuition. He jerked his head to where the window was at but saw nothing. He turned to Stacey, shuffling a little, noticing he was just overreacting. "I..uh, think i should go for a walk for a second," He asked with a light tone.
Stacey leaned back, taking her hand off his shoulder. "Do you want me to come?" She asked in a light, quiet tone.
"Would it be safe for her to go with you?" Billie asked. She could sense Nate was kinda angry, and knew how vampires get when they're angry. "If you want her to go, then I'm coming to" Billie said. "It would be for your own safety" Billie said.
Billie also knew how Nate felt. She knew the anger and the hatred and sadness. For she had felt this way only a few weeks ago when her own sister had died. "It's hard to talk about her isn't?" Billie said after a long pause. "Your emotions are going crazy, and you think your going crazy?" She asked. "It will all pass, but it will take time. I know whenI heard about my sister the first thing I did was run off..and all it did was put me in danger.. maybe you should stay here for a while and calm down Nate" Billie said walking over where Stacey and Nate stood. She stood slightly behind and to the left of Stacey.
"Billie, you should know me well enough to know that I wouldn`t stay here. I can take care of myself. You should know that well." Stacey said, giving Billie a look with grey eyes.
"I will say you are a great fighter, but Nate being what he is, and if he gets angry, theres always a chance he could rip you to shreds" Billie said remembering her hunting exprience with Nate. "He could lose control and then.. yea" Billie said with a calm voice.
"Billie, you haven`t seen me at my worst, trust me." She said, her eys turning red. "I could kill my mother if I wanted to. Even though I would never kill my mother, I could." Stacey was getting serious. "You cannot assume that I can`t take care of myself in that way."
"I never said you couldn't its just I want you to be safe and not dinner" Billie said her own eyes growing black. Billie was getting slightly angry, and it seemed like she needed to hunt, but she had earlier that day. "Don't make me angry Stacey I just want to give you a little more protection then you have"
Nate seemed to be ripped into two. He looked up with his dull eyes and said to both of them," No its alright. I..i can go by myself, billys right she has seen me at my worst. I just need to think is all." He looked at Stacey and thought to her, I dont want to hurt you.
Stacey caught his thought. *I don`t want you to hurt.* She answered. She sighed. "Fine." She said in a grim voice.
"You don't need to be alone. Thats what I thougth I needed, but it was better when I was around my friends. I'm just saying let Stacey go, and I'll go to. That way no matter what she'll be safe" Billie said. Billie didn't want him to be alone and knew right now that Stacey would be good to have around him, but it was dangerous and Billie wanted to protect her.
After a while, the pain gets easier and is soon forgotten. I just need you to be my friend and ill be fine he thought to her. He looked up at Billie, a little surprised at her. He said with a whisper, cracky voice,"Fine."
"Okay then Stacey, lets go" she said and took a step onto the window ledge. "But Stacey you have to listen to me, if I say run or hide, you have to, I can get Pete out there in less then a second, and he will take you back to the castle if you don't listen" Billie said.
Stacey sighed and stood. Stacey nodded at Nate in reply to his thought. She looked over at Billie. "Pete would keep me company to, would he not? I would want to help, not stay in a castle away from everything."
"Then are you coming or not?" Billie asked. "But he Nate loses control Pete will escort you to the castle then I'll calm Nate and Pete can take back out to him" Billie said.
"I think he can control himself enough to not hurt anyone. Give the kid some credit." Lavy said, having listening to the little exchange between the three of them. She was still wringing out various parts of her cloths and her hair.
She looked at Nate, feeling his energy carfully, picking up on his emotional state. Yes, she could feel the anger. That was clear as day. But stronger then that was the grief. The emptiness from his sisters death. As long as that was stronger, violence, she knew, would be minimal at best but more likely no even present. He was still in partial shock. She could feel that too.
Stacey looked at Lavy and smiled at her; she could always say soething to make things a little better. She looked at Billie. *Please?* She thought to her. *I`m not a little girl anymore.*
Billie walked near a small chair that was close to the window and sat down. "I'll stay" She said. Billie looked over at Stacey. *But I will bo going to check on you if your not back in a few hours* She sent to Stacey.
*Thank you. It`s really nice that you care so much, but don`t underestimate me.* Stacey thought back. "Okay," She stood up, waiting for Nate. "Shall we go?"
"I wasn't underestimating you I was simple overestimating him" Billie said smiling.
Nate bowed his head courtly towards billy. His eyes still welled up with anger. "If i do get overly worse i i promise ill try my best." He tried hard to change his voice smoother but it didt really work,"I would never hurt her."
Stacey looked up at Nate smiling. "Shall we go?" She asked him again.
Nates anger went away as he looked at her, his eyes shining with anticipation but then again he was absored with sadness. He grabbed Staceys hand, gently but tight as he changed his voice carefully,"Only when you want to."
Stacey squeezed Nate`s hand and smiled. "I`m ready." She whispered.
Nate forced a smile on his lips. He was begginning to loose the bitterness and become more sorrowful. He looked at her and squeezed her hand back," Come on." He lead the way through the doors and out into the darkness that surrounded them outside. The cresent moon shined halfways filling in some of the dark spots. There were rolling swirling clouds grey and dark filling up the sky, moving closer and closer the the moon. It matched his mood well.
Stacey walked next to Nate and when they were outside she rubbed two of her fingers together, making a firery flower come out of her fingertips. She held it out for him to take. "I know what you`re going through."
Nates throat became dry, his stomach hurting. He wasnt feeling good. His voice scratched and painful,"yeah?"
Stacey sighed. "Yea, a lot of people think I`m just some little know it all, but I`m not. I`ve actually been through some hard times."
Nate put on a lil smile holding his stomach with his hand,"I dont think your a know it all," he said in a scratchy voice.
Stacey noticed Nate`s pain. "What`s wrong?"
Nate jerked his hand off of his stomach and cleared his voice,"Uhmm nothing.." he said hoping she wouldnt notice.
Stacey tilted her head. "Don`t lie." She said quietly.
Nate looked at her, his eyes sad and regretful,"I know im sorry," he said to her in a soft scratchy voice. He said then,"My stomach is just doing some weird things is all." It was more painful than just weird.
Stacey gave him a hard stare. "What`s wrong?"
Nate shook his head, his shaggy hair moving,"Nothing..nothing." He lyed, and he knew she knew.
"Nate..." She said as a warning. Her eyes turned a dusty shade of grey.
Nate fell to his knees, his stomach hurting painfully. The heat of power hitting his stomach and the powerful pain, he clenched his stomach hard with his arms and looked down. He screamed in pain as he landed hard on his knees. His breathing was fast,"I..i think someones trying to kill me," he managed to say through clenched teeth.
Stacey knelt down beside him and put a hand on his shoulder. "What`s wrong?" She asked, full of genuin concern.
((May I join, you know, just help and such? Unless you want to like be alone or something and Stacey can save Nate. Ignore this post if wanted.))
((Sorry, to put you out, but I have plans for this post. Lol, sorry, they need a moment.))
His eyes full of pain, he left his head facing his knees so stacey couldnt see the tears forming in his eyes. He could feel the pain getting worse and worse as it spreaded up to his back and then to his shoulders. He screamed in pain as he tried to fight the pain. He felt utterly like sh*t. He said sadly to her,"I dont think you should be here," his voice shaky with pain and hurtfulness.
Stacey moved so she was in front of Nate; he had seen her at her worst, she was going to see him at his. She gently put a hand on his shoulder. "I`m not leaving you here by yourself." She said defiantly.
Nate cleared his throat and ignored the pain,"No..please dont. You dont need me, i can take care of myself. Ill be okay." He held his stomach tightly as he looked up at her, trying to look better but his pale face didnt help.
Stacey crossed her arms. "I`m not going to leave you here when you`re like this." She repeated. "Now tell me what you think is wrong so I can try to fix it."
Nate turned on her, his voice cold and his eyes dark,"No, d**nit Stacey. Just leave me alone." He blocked his emotions and tried his hardest to block out the pain again.
Stacey flinched as he spoke and was suddenly cut off from his emmotions. Her voice softened. "Please, I refuse to leave you here when you are like this. Please tell me how I can help."
Nate looked at her sadly,"I just need you to leave me so i can just think," he said with a scratchy voice but this time he really meant it.
Stacey didn`t want to go, but she heard the longing in his voice. "Fine." She hissed before she vanished. The word hung in the air, even after she left.
Nate waited till Stacey had left and then he took in a deep breath, full of streams of pain. A vile taste appeared in his mouth, he spitted the weird taste out feeling the incredible pain stream through his vains. He clutched his wand in the back of his pocket and said a painless spell. His body felt numb but surprisingly better. He felt better for awhile and then it hit, the ruthless pain arrived again but worse. His knees still planted on the ground, he held his heart and puked out scarlet red thick liquid. His eyes blurred, and then finally got back into focus. Blood. He may be a vampier but this was just gross. He coughed some more bloode until his body became numb and in shock. He stared off into the trees and then back down at the puddle of scarlet blood. And then he saw it, not just his face but his eyes were almost catlike, and his veins more sharp. He looked almost scary, like someone off of a horrific movie. This isnt good he thought to himself.
(ooo... :o barf... :P Can I join?)
(haha it was the only thing that came up out of my head. and sure i guess so)
"Oh my god." A small voice whispered from the tree tops. Jackie jumped down seeing Nate double over in pain. Her face flashed with many emotions, first horror, then fear, then worry and something else...
"A- W-what happened!?" She almost shouted, her eyes wide.
Nate blinked not daring to look at her or his face that had transformed into..well an worse version of himself. He wished he was invisible but the only thing he could do was cover his eyes with his shaggy dark hair. He cleared his clogged throat that still tasted like some vile medicine with a hint of bloode, and not the good kind either. "N-nothing," he said with a scratchy quiet voice.
Jackie raised her eyebrows. "Don't try to be brave." She said frowning, her eyes clouded. "Your puking blood all over the forest for crying out loud!" She almost screamed.
She stopped, taking a breath. "Now do you want to tell me why you are... um... like this?" SHe asked much softer now, bending down to peer through his hair to his eyes.
Nate looked up, his hair drenched with sweat. He sat down on his legs painfully, trying to stay away from the bloode. His sharp teeth were still peering out of his mouth, and he tried painfully to slid them in but it didnt work. His hair still over his catlike eyes he said with a still scratchy voice,"Truthfully? I dont know..." He hoped she didnt notice his features of his face had changed to something "not very good looking."
"I would have to disagree with that last comment." Jackie said, her eyes deep, but a small smile on her face. She brushed a tiny bit of hair out of his face, drawing her hand back when she touched his skin. It was like an electric current had been run through her hand, but it didn't hurt.
She flexed her fingers looking at them oddly for a moment.
Nate grabbed her hand, as if his body was doing all of the thinking. An soft light electric current sent through his hand and into hers, as if he was giving off some of his power. He twindled his fingers with hers as he had no idea what he was doing. He looked into her eyes, hoping she didnt think he was scary. His voice low and soft,"I think you should believe me." His eyes turning a light color but still catlike.
Jackie smiled and looked into his eyes. "I don't think I will." SHe almost whispered, her hand still twined in his, it was like her brain disconnected from her body. She leaned in slightly closer and felt the almost electric current runnning through her. She looked into his eyes, hers sparkling and smiled, sincerely and softly.
Nate put on a soft smile, channeling out the pain that still clenched in his stomach,"Am i gonna have to make you." He played with her fingers, and then looked up at her. Even though he could feel the pain he still felt a little surge of happiness.
"I think you might." Jackis replied softly, looking up at him, holding his hand in hers. She smiled softly again. "But I doubt you'll be able to do that." She said looking into his eyes again. She felt a sudden emotion overwhelm her, but she had no idea what it was. She bit her lip as the feeling took her over again.
Nate smiled lightly,"Yeah your probably right..I dont know that spell." He said slyly.
Jackie laughed softly, looking up. "I doubt I know it either. Just about the only one I know is... um... I don't know." She finally admitted with a small laugh.
Nate smiled at her with warm eyes. He looked at her with such intensity that he had to jerk his head to stop looking at her. He felt like a freak,"Um..yeah."
Jackie noticed him suddenly jerk his head away. She had expected him to laugh, but instead he had looked at her with a sudden intensity. "What's wrong?" She immediatly asked, tilting her head so she could see his eyes again.
He ruffled his dark hair with his hand, not looking at her. He felt even more confused than ever,"Uhm..nothing. I just dont know..." he mumbled.
"Ok..." Jackie said looking down and taking her hand to fiddle around with her fingers. "D-do you want me to go? I could I guess, if you want to be alone or think..." She suggested, looking at hm wishing she could help somehow.
"No dont, i like you," he blurted out as he didnt think. He blushed a light pink as he looked down, afraid to meet her gaze.
Jackie stopped and her mouth dropped open. "I-I think I like you too." She admitted, her face turning a bright red. Her blue eyes swirled like water as tears threatened to surface.
Nate looked up to meet her blue eyed gaze,"Really," he asked with a shy smile.
"Really." Jackie confirmed looking at him. She settled herself onto the ground, and traced patterns in the dirt for a moment. After a moment she looked down and realized she was drawing hearts. She blushed and scattered the dirt so it was blank again.
Nate smile and pretended he didnt just see her draw hearts. He sat down beside her and said softly,"Thats good."
"Very good." Jackie said, trying to focus on the drawing in the dirt. Now it was of a dog. It looked more like a tree with some tumors, though.
Nate looked at the weird looking picture now," What is that," he laughed.
"Well, its supposed to be a dog, but I think it looks like a tree with tumors." Jackie confessed laughing at the picture too.
Nate held back his laugh,"Hmm...its a very," he paused thinking of a word,"interesting drawing."
"Good choice of words, although I would have used something like weird or demented." Jackie said, attempting to fix the little creature.
Nate pointed at the drawing,"Hmm maybe you should just start over."
Jackie smiled and turned away from the picture to look at him. "Shut up." She murmered half smiling.
Nate laughed,"Oh come on! You know you werent going anywhere with it?"
"Fine then." Jackie said, folding her arms across her chest in a stubborn way. "I'd like to see you draw a dog mister amazing artist!" She challenged, teasing.
Nate smiled and backed off,"I dont think you want me to try doing that," he challenged back.
Jackie finally gave up and seated herself conveniently on his lap. She reached up and kissed his jaw line, leaning into him. Her head was at his shoulder and she smiled softly to herself. "I don't like fighting." She murmered.
"You started it," he squeaked weirdly. He blushed a bright pink and turned his head towards the trees, not daring looking at her face. He swallowed and said more like him,"My bad."
(o thats attractive, lol! :D )
Jackie laughed and looked at him. "What brought that on?" She asked, still laughing softly. She brushed her hair out of her face waiting for a reply.
Nate shrugged shyly and pursed his lips together. His face pink still,"Hmm..nothing," he said quietly.
Jackie narrowed her eyes playfully, but let it drop. "You're blushing?" She asked questioningly, raising an eyebrow in curiosity.
Nate smiled, still a little embarassed,"So what? I blush. Is that okay with you? I mean guys can blush sometimes too," he smuthered in her face, changing the subject on her.
"You're not as bad as me." Jackie said smiling, feeling somewhat sorry she had embarrased him. "I blush bright red." She commented.
"Well yours is cute," he said sweetly as he wrapped his muscular arms around her while she was still sitting on him.
Jackie smiled, as his compliment caused her cheeks to flood a crimson red. She tried to hide it under her blonde hair, but didn't succeed as she curled into a small ball inside his arms which easily encircled her.
Nate smiled hugely at her and said smotheringly,"I saw that. And it is cute."
The blush stayed stamped on Jackie's cheeks for another moment, before she finally peeked her blue eyes through the curtain her hair made. "Thanks." She commented laughter behind her words. She hid her face again, somewhat marveling at how she got here. Here she was in someone's arms, but even more, someone perfect.
Nate moved back Jackies hair swiftly so he could see her hidden face. He leaned over and whispered,"You look better when i can see you face."
Jackie caught her breath at how close he suddenly was. An almost electric feeling shot through her and she closed her eyes before opening them again and blinked, like she was trying to see straight. It took her a moment, but then she finally spoke. "Sorry." She murmered. "I still can't believe it, that I'm here."
Nate looked at her as his gaze softened,"What? Why not?"
