He closed his eyes taking a deep breath as he smelled the dewey night. His breath was heavy and his heart racing. His emotions overwhelmed with invinsibility and power. The blood in his veins rushing and his pulse loud enough to be heard. His mind free. He took one deep breath and jumped off face down, with his arms flying back and the wind hitting his face. It felt so good. He landed perfectly and balanced on his feet. He wiped the grass off his pants and then looked up, seeing how far he had landed from the castle to his dorm. He smiled, wiping off a sweat of drop from his forehead. He walked in a slow circle until he had found the moon, the cresent moon was shining as the trees waved and bowed. The air hit his body playfully feeling the power, and then he turned his head sharply and began to run fiercly through the forest. Hearing the wishing of the trees as he weaved around them sharply. It was time for his hunt, he could feel it.
Holly stood quietly in the center of the forest, almost statue like. She had on a black sweater and jeans, with a black leather glove on each hand. Her blue eyes were lighter with the moon's light shining down on her. They were narrowed. As if she were scanning the area for something. Her redish brown hair blew gently with the wind. Finally, she looked towards another direction. She needed to hunt. Today. She could feel it. Her body felt weaker. And the taste for blood kept prodding her. It was slightly annoying, but would soon be taken care of. That is...if there was any source to drink from. The forest seemed empty tonight.
His body shaking with anticipation, and his mouth watering for the sweet taste of blood. But there was something different, something out of place..not right. He turned his black eyes into slits and looked around slowly and carefully, trying to scan for any movement in the forest. His breathing began to get heavier as he found nothing. His voice slender and smooth, but seductive," Somethings not right." He swished his head scanning hard and still nothing. He knew it was time and he needed something quick before he begans to become a hudaluum. He could smell blood, and he wanted it. he needed it.
Jackie ran in the forest, ducking, weaving in and out of trees. Her body tingled in anticipation of the hunt. Blood. Fresh blood. The thought was racing through her mind. The only other thought in her head was a thought she never stopped thinking: Why me? Why was she a vampire? She hated it. Not being normal. She found out about this and that her thought to be 'Siren powers' were the aftermath of a spell. She was really a Vampire. She scowled, twisting her normally pretty features into an angry setting. Then she stopped and tasted the air. No animals here... but another of her kind? She raced toward the scent automatically. A boy... another vampire...
Stacey froze, she felt movement around her, and close, too. She put her back to a large tree and carefully peered around the side of it. She saw Nate, and further back, Jackie. She could tell by the look of Nate that he was a vampire right now, she would have to approach him carefully.
Nate turned around automatically, hearing the movement of Jackie, and the breathing of Stacey. His eyes glazed with darkness and his voice scratchy,"I hear you Stacey." His face blank but all he could think of was the fresh warm blood rushing through staceys vains. He shook his head trying to get the thought to escape. He couldnt and wouldnt ever do that. Even thinking about it hurt his heart, the pain veering into his head.
Stacey carefully scotted to the other side of the tree, still staying close to it. "I have a quiver of arrows, do you want me to hunt something?" She asked.
Jackie kept running, adreneline pumping even from the thought of blood. Then she stopped dead in her tracks. Human? No. Jackie was to dangerous like this. The stopped, calmed her head and continued forward slowly. She tasted the air once more. "Stacey?" She asked into the woods. She could see fine in the dark, she was just checking.
Nate glared at Jackie, not trusting her. He took a step forward towards her directions and hissed,"Shes mine."
Jackie instinctivly crouched down at the tone in Nate's voice, but immediatly came to her senses. "Its ok, I'm just thirsty." Jackie said much more calmly than Nate. Then she added to herself. 'Of course I am, I'm a vampire...'
Nate looked at her with fiery,"Wheres the food?" He asked with a silky voice, meaning wheres the animals to feed off of.
Jackie stole a glance at Stacey, but turned her attention back to Nate. "I haven't scented anything yet, except for you two." She replied, her voice light and airy like bells, strangely out of place this night.
Nate was dissapointed and worried what could become of him if he didnt get blood. He sighed feeling like sh*t. He smelled the air and nothing only the blood he could smell was rushing through Stacey and Jackie. He hissed,"This isnt good..i can feel it."
Stacey`s hands trembled as she picked up her quiver of arrows and her bow. "I`ll... I`ll just go get something for you to eat." She stammered.
Jackie looked at Nate nervously. "I can't go this long without something to drink." She whispered nervously looking at Stacey again. "What if I can't find anything?"
Nate sighed his voice quivering,"I dont know but your not touching her." He said his voice low and dark as he pointed at Stacey.
Jackie glared at him. "Don't under estimate my self control." She almost growled. "I would never, she's a friend." Then she looked at the both of them. "I'm going to make a quick round of this part of the woods, see if I can scent anything. I'll be right back." Then the trees rustled and she was gone.
Nate hissed under his breath,"Sure." Then he looked around trying to spot any movement. He neither heard or saw anything. He couldnt even smell anything which kinda scared him.
Jackie came back a little unnerved. "Nothing." She said. In her head she couldn't help wondering if it was her, or there was nothing,
He looked around with cold eyes,"Same here. What the f*ck happened to them," he hissed.
Stacey ad a quiver of arrown in her hand, which was shaking. She slipped into the trees and shot a poor rabit she found, going into its burrow. She brought it back and threw it on the ground.
Jackie saw the rabbit on the ground, the blood was tempting, but she frowned in disgust. "Thanks Stacey. But I catch my own prey." She said, but she knew she would have to eat something soon. She would even settle for a squirrel now, but the thought of not catching her own food? That disgusted her.
Stacey nodded. "That`s okay, I just... I just thought I could....."
"Its not your fault. I just-" Jackie stopped and sniffed the air once more. She sank low and sped off into the forest without another word.
In the distance there were sounds of a small struggle. A roar of a mountain lion, or something of the sort. And then an even more fearsome snarl, but after a moment all sounds ceased.
Two or so minutes later Jackie strolled much more casually into the small clearing, as if nothing had happened, but her appearance said otherwise. Her hair was bushy and in disarray and her jeans were torn to shreds just past her knee, while her shirt had slashes across the stomach area, but no higher. Also her arms and a bit below her neck was slightly spattered with blood, but it wasn't hers.
Aside from her clothes she appeared unharmed. Her eyes now were also a deep blue.
Nate stared at Jackie quizzically,"What ya do?" His voice back to normal and his eyes lighter with amusement even though he was starving and that rabbit was looking better and better as it became staler and the blood cold.
Jackie blushed, looking at her clothes. "Yeah, I smelled a big mountain lion a ways back. It got a little messy, I tend to forget to be neat when I'm so thirsty." She explained.
Stacey let out a sigh of relief; she felt less nervous now that Jackie had fed, ever though she knew Jackie would never hurt her.
"Hm... I should probably change..." JAckie mumbled, muttering a few words under her breath. "Oh, yeah! I remember, I keep stashes of clothes in trees all over the forest. Well, in case of... this." She said sweeping her hand over her figure.
Then she ran to a tree and pulled a bundle out. She ran into the woods and there was a rustling of bushed, before she returned wearing a pair of shorts and a tank top with a gray hoodie covering that.
"Thats not weird at all," Nate said with a smile. He felt better for some reason.
Jackie looked at him and put her hands on her hips. "Well, would you rather me walk around in shredded clothes?" She asked, raising her eyebrow. "Yeah, I don't think so."
Nate smiled,"No but i just think its random and weird that you put clothes behind trees and stuff."
Jackie laughed again, "And suppose that you have a better idea?" She asked, looking at other trees trying to remember where all her other stashed were.
Nate raised his hands up and looked upwards,"Magic?"
Stacey laughed suddenly. She clasped her hand over her mouth.
Jackie looked at him again. "I'm not to good with that kind of thing." She admitted, looking down. "If I tried, I'd probably come up with an octopus." SHe added with a laugh.
Nate smiled slightly,"Well then i guess your idea helps wayy better then." He added mischieviously,"What would happen if tried to use magic to make an octopus?"
"Hmm..." Jackie pondered, then she muttered a few words and waved her hand with a flourish of her wand and a book on an octopus appeared in their midst. "Close." She muttered, obviously satisfied.
Nate smiled," Yeah closer than i thought itd be." He lookked at the octupus,"How are you going to make it dissappear?"
"Uh... Burn it?" Jackie suggested with a shrug. "Unless you want to do something about it..." She said, starting to remember spells that might help with the burning.
Nate put his hand out, signaling not to,"No its allright..how bout we just move it to the lake or something?"
"I`ll burn it." Stacey offered and didn`t wait for an answer. She flezzed a finger and a whirl of fire engulfed the octopus, but didn`t touch or even burn Jackie.
Nate waved his wand as blue fire waved out of it, swirling around the octupus sheilding it from the blazing fire. "No," he said coldly.
((Dudes its a book on an octopus! :D ::) ))
