The evening sun was just beginning to set over the bright purple and orange horizon as Aiden walked out to the shore of the lake. He slowly sat down in the dry sand, and covered his entire head with the dark hood of his sweatshirt. He made it so that it covered most his eyes as well. Aiden rested his arms on his knees as the toes of his shoeless feet was being slowly drenched by the ripples of the lakes tide. He sat there and began to think of his new life of Hogwarts. He felt utterly alone.
(open)
Nate glanced at the horizen feeling soaked up into the beauty. His eyes stuck and glued to the colors that made his stomach clench. Then he jerked his head feeling less distracted as he was before. He walked off into the area feeling a little relieved tostop thinking and just watch. He noticed by the lake a kid he had never seen before. He walked up behind him hoping he wouldnt scare him," Um.. hey." He said uncomfortablly.
Aiden sat there, in his own thoughts. He didn't even notice Nate walk up until he spoke. "Oh..hello" Aiden said quietly as he turned around and looked up at Nate. He lifted up his hood a bit to see him better. "Uh...so who are you?" he asked quietly, a little confused
"Im Nate and you are," he asked interested. He had never seen this kid around before which was kinda normal but he didnt care.
Stacey ran up to the two boys. "Hi." She said, out of breath. "Aiden, Nate... Did you two... just meet?" She asked between breaths.
"I'm Ai-" he was cut short by Stacey. Aiden scratched the back of head as he replied quietly "Uh...yeah, I guess"
Nate smiled at Stacey,"Um..yeah. You always do that too," Nate said to Stacey.
"So how do y'all know each other?" Aiden asked curiously. He tilted his head to the side.
Nate smiled,"Ehh...thats a long story," He winked at Stacey. "So what year are you?"
"I'm a seventh year" Aiden replied. He looked at Nate "What about you?"
Stacey finally caught her breath and stood up straight. She kicked Nate`s shin gently before he could answer. "He`s a friend of mine." She told Aiden.
Nate pushed her playfully and lightly,"Yeah im a third year... and wow how come ive never met you?"
"Well, I've just actually started this year. So I haven't met everyone yet. I know quite a few people though. This place is pretty cool." Aiden said getting quieter.
Stacey kept glancing nervously from Aiden to Nate, then back to Aiden. Things could get really complicated really soon.
Aiden sat there. Not knowing much else to say.
Mira had been sitting up in a tree and now fell to the ground akwardly with many people around to witness her inevitable blunder. She got up and rubbed her eyes, her pupils shrinking in the bright light. "Oh, since when did so many people get here?" She questioned, her eyes scanning the people.
Nate smiled, holding his laugh,"Uhm..hey?"
Mira raised her eyebrow, looking at Nate. "Yes, I am a klutz. You have surprising self-control. How are you not laughing hysterically?" She added sighing at her own uncoordinated self.
Nate put on a famous bright smile,"Ehh yeah you are a clutz but i can easily hold back a laugh if i try."
Stacey rolled her eyes at Nate. "Yea right."
"You really should be getting better at controlling laughs if you see me more often. You'll have a lot of practice. I fall, A LOT." Mira said laughing a bit.
Nate smiled at Stacey,"Yeah well dont listen to Stacey cause she doesnt know anything." He said jokingly.
"I'm not so sure, I've learned some valuably life lessons from Stacey, like....... don't make a snow leapard mad.... and when someone can melt rocks and you make them mad, don't be withen their reach... Stuff liek that." Mira said laughing and looking at Stacey.
Stacey let out a large smile. "You`re so mean." She said sarcastically.
Nate put on an amused smile,"Ehh i guess your right... i guess she can teach you some important stuff..."
Stacey crossed her arms and spoke with the voice of a little kid. "You are so mean!!!"
Nate smiled and asked annoyingly,"Am i? Am i mean? Are you sure?" He said holding back his laugh.
Stacey uncrossed her arms and stepped closer to Nate, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. She kissed him gently. "Very mean."
Nate shyed off,"Well why thankya!" He put on a smile and just looked at her.
Stacey laughed, keeping her arms around his shoulders. "Yea, whatever."
Nate opened his mouth to say something and then he backed off. He didnt want to ruin the moment. He shrugged off her arm and randomly climbed up the tree and put his hand out and said a spell. His clothes changed into back in the midevil, with a had with a feather, and a poofy shirt. He stood up on the branch playfully. He gestured with his hands, and was just being a show off,"Oh dear sweet Juliet, what beyonder window breaks. You are the Sun which lies towards the east," he acted, picking some little parts he actually kinda remembered from "Romeo and Juliet". He put on a childish smile and looked down at them.
(o, hehe wow, forgot i was in this one... :P )
Mira smiled, laughing a bit, but it was soft. Not the usual laud laughter that seemed to escape her mouth at the most inaproppriate times. She turned slowly as she heard a noise behind her.
~
Jackie popped into view. "Lovely." She commented smiling, holding back laughter. "Come, gentle night, — come, loving black brow'd night, Give me my Romeo; and when he shall die, take him and cut him out in little stars, and he will make the face of Heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with night, and pay no worship to the garish sun." She recited, accenting the words, and softly smiling at her favorite part.
Then she glanced up. "Hehe, sorry. I could be called obsessed with the play." Jackie said with a laugh.
Nate smiled childishly,"Well my dear sweet lady, i shall not know what that means for i have never understood this vague book well but thee that was more fair than mine," he said with an odd accent. He moved his arms like the people do in the plays. And then took off his midevil hat and waved it, sliding it under his arm.
"Bravp! Bravo!" Jackie clapped. "And that basically meant that: If Romeo were a constellation that everyone would fall in love with the sky because he is so gorgeous." She said, smiling.
Then she was wearing a medival dress, that princesses wore. It was golden and had about 50 billion layers, including a corset, a very unfortubate little part of the costume. "These are probably what I admire most about the play. I can't imagine what it would have been like to be up there." Said Jackie, with a tiny sigh.
Nate smiled crookedly,"Well you could always go back in time..i mean if you have magic you might as well use it dont you think?"
"Psh... And screw up the best play of all time?" Jackie said, raising her eyebrows. "Have you not seen me use magic before? I'm actually surprised this dress turned out right!" She said, laughing the tiniest bit. "The best I could possibly do is re-enact portions of the play in the present." She said, twirling in her dress, making the bottom flare out.
Nate jumped off the high limp, landing silently on the ground, not even the leaves rustled. He smiled and said,"Well then, i think we should go on a fieldtrip then," he said mischieviouisly.
"Where are you going with this?" JAckie asked warily as the took the tiniest step back, but still remained smiling.
Nate smiled and said ,"I dont know. Where do i think im going with this?"
Jackie stopped and tilted her head to the side, arching an eyebrow. "You do know that I am utterly confused right now... Don't you?" She said, furrowing her brow and attempting to figure out what he meant.
Nate smiled mischieviously,"Thats what i was trying to do." He lifted his wand and pointed it at her but only said,"Now do you know where im going with this?"
"Not a clue." Jackie admitted, laughing. "Would you just do it already?" She asked finally, raising her arms in exasperation.
Nate smiled,"Fine." He grabbed her hand and said a spell, going back into the midevil times. He opened his eyes into a different world. There was a dirt road that led to a villiage of small cottages and horses grazing surrounded by a wooden fence. There was hills everywhere and then he squinted his eyes, to see past the villiage a tall old castle that shined as the sun reflected towards it. He smiled mischieviously,"Now i knew that was the right spell." He glanced at Jackie to see her expression.
Jackie froze, breathless. She squeazed Nate's hand and held on tight, like she was afraid it would disappear if she didn't. "H-Thanks..." She managed to mutter incoherently. She tried to gasp in shock, but the corset wouldn't allow that.
Nate smiled and led her down into the villiage."Lets go meet the Royals of the Castle."
"I b- Wil th- Ok..." She stuttered looking around like her head was on a swivel. Then she jumped with happieness and threw her arms around his neck. "Thank you!" She whispered happily, laughing now.
Nate smiled and hugged her,"Now lets go before it gets dark." He looked up at the sky that was now turning a dark shade of blue as the sun was slightly down. He grabbed her hand gently and led her towards the fence where the horses were. "We might need to borrow two of those horses," he said. He glanced at her playfully,"Can you ride horseback..no saddle involved?"
A smile slid onto Jackie's face playfully. "Race you." She said, before sprinting toward the fence and hopping it easily with her dress still intact. She pulled herself up onto a chocolate brown horse and smiled down at Nate, as the horse began to gallop.
Nate complained child like,"No fair!" He jumped over the fence landing on his feet and slid onto a pale white horse. He held onto the white mane and cantered off towards Jackie.
Jackie laughed and kicked her horse slightly. She leaned forward and her dress trailed out slightly behind her. She let the wind whip her face and her lips parted in a smile. She turned her head back to see if Nate was still coming and slowed down to let him catch up.
Nate smiled as the wind hit his face,"You shouldnt of done that," he said as he whipped past her.
Jackie laughed and leaned forward catching up to him. She stuck her tounge out as her hair whipped out behind her. She slowed down and looked up at the giant castle that was becoming closer. "Wow." She whispered.
Nate pulled on the reigns slowing down with Jackie. He looked big eyed at the amazing castle,"Well i never expected it to be this big," he said laidback.
Jackie laughed. "Where to now?" SHe asked casually still in awe at the giant castle before them. It even had a big pointy tower.
Nate smiled and slid off the horse. He walked towards Jackies horse and put out a hand to help her off,"We walk," he said like a gentleman.
"Is that possible in this?" Asked Jackie, motioning to the billion layers of cloth that made up her dress. She laughed as she got off the horse. "These shoes don't make anything easier either." She said, poking her foot out. The dress came complete with high heels.
Nate smiled looking at her dress,"Then i will carry you," he said playfully. He lifted her up and looked at her as his eyes glimmered with amusement.
"Oh!" Jackie laughed as he picked her up. She kissed his cheek softly. "My brave knight." She said smiling in amusement.
Nate smiled smugly,"You called me brave, in a way." He said still carrying her,"I should probably start walking," he laughed.
"If you can, considering this dress probably weighs double my weight." Jackie said, starting to count how many layers the dress really was.
Nate walked with her dress flowing almost to the ground,"Oh trust me you weigh like a feather," he said and he really meant it.
"Thank you." Jackie said smiling and a tiny laugh escaped her lips. Then she looked up. "Wow, this thing is hot." She said, fanning herself.
"Now you know how the historical people felt," he said almost laughing as he walked.
"Because its been my life long dream to find out." Jackie said sarcastically, rolling her eyes. "I feel really bad for the women of this time. I'm sure they didn't get carried everywhere." SHe said smiling at Nate.
"Well they should be jealous then because your the only one im gonna carry," he winked at her with a bright smile. He stopped abruptly,"Okay we are here," he said pointing at the castle doors that were tall with a pointy curve at the top. "Wow, we got here fast!"
"Wow, you're right, very fast." She murmered. Then she looked at him smiling and almost laughing. "Are you going to put me down?" She asked, arching her eyebrows.
Nate smiled,"Hmm i was thinking about it but now that youve said that i dont think im gonna."
"Awe come on! Then I don't get to run, and you know I love running!" Jackie protested, then putting on her best puppy dog face, she looked up at him and stuck her lip out like a toddler. "You wouldn't want to make me unhappy would you?" SHe asked, batting her eyelashes and stifling a giggle.
Nate smiled,"Awh. Fine. But only because the puppy dog face is working and im starting to feel bad." He put her down gently and kissed her on the cheek lightly.
"Thank you." Jackie said beaming as he kissed her cheek lightly. Her heart raced and she started to wonder if it would ever NOT threaten to explode everytime he kissed her. Then she blushed, figuring he could hear her overreaction as clear as day, but for some reason she didn't mind if he knew.
"So what now? Go meet the king?" SHe asked teasing and trying to calm herself a little.
Nate smiled at her reaction but said nothing about it. "Hmm..its not that bad of an idea," he said with a bright smile.
