Aiden sat in the Gryffindor common room. He wore his thrashed jeans and and his usual black hoodie with the sleeves rolled up and his hair was spiked. It was late at night and he thought he was alone. He looked into the fireplace and began rubbing his fingertips together, making a flame. Aiden slowly opened and closed his hand making the flame bigger and smaller. He took out some old pictures from his pocket and burned them with the fire that he controlled in his palm. Aiden threw the leftover burnt pieces into the fireplace. He leaned back and continued to stare at the burning embers.

Billie turned over in her bed and looked at the clock. "Uck" She said. Suddenly Billie sat up. She could sense someone was awake, and could smell burning paper. Billie stood up and looked at her clothes. She must've fallen asleep in her clothes, because she was fully dressed, converse and all. She grabbed a jacket and walked down stairs. She saw someone she didn't know and walked slowly up to them. "Are, Are you okay?" she asked looking at the little bit of ash that was on the floor.
Aiden turned around at the newcomer who came through the door. He had a troubled expression on his face. "Yeah. I'm fine" he said quietly has he kneeled on the floor and attempted to pick up the burnt photos that he carelessly forgot. Aiden put them in the fire. "I'm sorry. I didn't know someone was awake" he murmered quietly as he looked at the ground.
"You have no reason to be sorry, I'm the one who interupted you" Billie said walking over to the fire place and sat in one of the big chairs. She pulled her legs beside her in the chair and looekd over at the boy. "Are you sure your okay? When most people are okay they're not burning photes" She said
He finished picking up all of the spare peices. Aiden looked up at Billie. "Your probably right" he said quietly. "But it was just something that needed to be done. I needed to get over a few things..." He sat down on the couch. "I'm sorry. Whats your name?" he asked quietly.
"Okay" Billie said. "Oh my name is Billie Jones, I'm in my fifth year" She said proudly, but in a soft voice. She moved a piece of her hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear. "Whats about you?" She asked him. "Want to talk about wants going on with you?" she asked.
"Well, My names Aiden Gray. I'm seventeen and I'm in Gryffindor." Aiden replied quietly. He couldn't think of anything else to say.
"Have you been at Hogwarts all your years or did you just start this year?" she asked. "Do you know my brother Pete. He is in seventh year" She said keeping her voice soft.
"First year." Aiden replied. He thought for a moment. "Pete? Nope, I don't think I've met him. How long have you been going here?" he asked, curious. Aiden tilted his head to the side and leaned back in the chair.
"Oh okay. I was just wondering and about me.. well I just started last year" Billie said. "So do you like it here? Have you met a lot of people?" Billie asked.
"Yeah. I've met quite a few" Aiden said, recalling a few people in his mind. He stared into the fire. "What about you?" Aiden asked, looking back at Billie. He folded his arms and propped his feet on another chair.
Alexis walked through the Gryffindor common room. She saw Aiden and Billie sitting by the fireplace. "Hey Bille. Hey bro." She said waving to both of them. "What are y'all doing?" she asked. Alexis sat down on a chair in between both of them.
"I have a few close friends, and a few not very close friends" Billie said smiling to herself. Billie pulled her legs up against her body and put her arms around her legs. "Hey Alexis, you never said you had a brother." Billie said
"Yep. Aiden is my brother." Alexis said, punching him in the arm lightly.
Aiden rolled his eyes. "Stepbrother" he corrected Alexis. He rubbed his arm. "Yeah. I'm meeting new people every day. I like it here so far" he said quietly, changing the subject.
"At least you two get along" Billie said smiling. "I'm glad you like it! I hope that you stay, it would be cool to get to know you a little better, and maybe become friends" Billie said.
"Yeah, that'l be cool." Aiden said quietly. He looked into the fire. "This place is huge" Aiden said pointing around the room, referring the Hogwarts "I've gotten lost many times. I don't see how y'all know where to go"
Alexis pushed Aiden on the couch so she would have more room. "Thats just because you have no sence of direction" she told Aiden.
Aiden rolled his eyes again. "Yeah, whatever. Better than you do"
Billie smiled. "You'll get used to it, and plus it may be huge but you won't have to know where every room is, they only use about half of them" she said. Billie looked up and saw her brother Pete walking down from the boys dormitory. "Heya Pete! Whatcha up to?" She asked smiling brightly.
Pete looked over at Billie and saw her friend Alexis and someone he didn't know. "Nothing to much what are you up to?" He asked not only Billie but everyone who was near her. He walked over to where Billie sat and sat on the arm of the chair and looked at everyone.
Aiden nodded "Well thats good. I know where some of my classes are at least..." he said quietly.
Alexis watched Pete walk in. "Hey Pete" she said smiling. She waved at him. "Nothing much, just talking. What about you?"
Aiden watched as Pete walked in. Obviously it was Billie's brother. He waved shortly but didn't say anything.
"Well if you ever need help finding a class I would be glad to help you find it" She said to Aiden.
"Just getting to know some people a little better" Pete said answering Alexis. "Who are you?" He asked Aiden.
"Thats cool" Alexis said. She leaned back on the couch and slipped off her converses.
"Oh sorry. I'm Aiden. Aiden Gray" He said, introducing himself. "I'm guessing your Pete?" Aiden asked.
"I guess" Pete said with bordem taking over his voice. "Yeah I'm Pete" He said unsure how Aiden knew his name.
"I told him about you" Billie said noticing the certain tone in his voice. Billie looked over at Alexis converses. "I need to get a new pair I'm wearing out my black ones." She said.
Alexis looked at her shoes. "Yeah. These are my only pair left and they are kinda old and worn out too." She said.
Aiden looked at them. "Yeah they are" he said with a smile.
Alexis pushed him. "Shut up" She said to Aiden.
Aiden laughed and scooted down some on the couch.
