Christopher Manji plopped himself into an armchair in the Ravenclaw Common room, looking around boredly.
He had just arrived yesterday, and was wondering what had changed in the past few years. But he was still a bit tired from traveling and so he decided to just hang out in the common room.
But there was no one around right now. He flipped through a book that was beside him, but threw it back down in a moment.
Why was this so boring?
He shook his blond head, scowling. Wasn't there anything to do at Hogwarts?
Alexis stepped into the Ravenclaw common room. She knew she wasn't supposed to be in there, but she wanted to finally see what it looked like. She peaked out from behind the door and looked in, only seeing a boy she didn't recognize. She decided that since he didn't know her, he might not know she was a Gryffindor. Alexis walked in casually. "Hey" she greeted the boy. "Whats your name?"
Chris looked over, blinking for a moment. He was surprised into silence, he hadn't expect anyone, let alone a pretty girl, to walk into the room.
"Um, hi." He said, overcoming his silence, "I'm Chris. Who are you?"
Alexis walked not as quiet as before to the middle of the common room, near where Chris was. "I'm Alexis, but you can call me Lexi though." She replied as she looked around the large room. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you" Alexis replied after a moment.
Chris stared at her, still slightly dumbfounded, and then jumped up. "I'm sorry," He said, holding out his hand, "Where are my manner's? It's nice to meet you Lexi."
He smiled, "I apologize, I don't spend a lot of time around people."
Alexis noticed his dumbfounded expression, which slightly confused her. She took his hand shook it softly. "Thanks, it is nice to meet you too. Don't worry, its alright." She paused "I'm sorry for barging in like this... it was quite rude wasn't it?"
He chuckled, 'I suppose we've both been rude, right? Then no embarrassment on either side."
He cleared his throat, "Please, sit and talk to me. I'm bored out of my mind, and don't have many friends here." he motioned to one of the many chairs and couches before taking a seat himself.
She smiled. "Thank you" She said. Alexis took a seat in one of the chairs he offered to her. "So, what year are you in?"
"Seventh, or I think I am." Chris laughed, "I'm pretty bad at math."
He grinned at her, shaking his head, "What year are you?"
"I'm a sixth year" Alexis announced. She laughed quietly "Maybe we should get a math teacher then"
"Oh please don't! I'm allergic to most teachers." He grinned, "Or, at least that excuse worked with my parents." He grinned, "So what are things like here?" He asked.
Her smiled widened a little. "Things are pretty good. If you know how things work around here its easy to not get in trouble" Lexi looked at Chris "Do you like it here so far?"
"It's not too bad, from what I can see. AT least this time my brother isn't here." Chris's grin widened, "He can be a real jerk half the time."
He shrugged, "What are the teachers like? Any that I should make sure to take allergy medicine before going to class?"
"All of my teacher are great. But thats just my opinion. However, you may want to bring the allergy medicine just in case" Alexis said with a grin. She leaned back in the chair.
"What classes do you take?" Chris asked, "I haven't gotten my scheduel yet, but who knows. maybe I'll have a class with you."
"At least then I'd know somebody."
(I cant remember any of the classes she has so I'll just name the ones I can remember =P)
"Hm..." She leaned her head against her hand "Well lets see, I have defense against the dark arts, potions class" Alexis said, naming the rest of her classes. She looked back towards Chris. "It would be pretty cool to have a class together. So what do you have?"
"Like I said, not sure yet." He shrugged, then stood, "Lexi, would you like to go for a walk? This place is kinda boring." He grinned, his hands in his pockets.
Alexis stood from her chair. "Sure, that sounds like a good idea." She agreed. She flipped her hair out of the way and began walking towards the door.
Chris followed her, "Where to?" He asked, "It's up to you. I haven't been around long enough to want to go anywhere."
Alexis nodded "How about the lake?" She suggested. She began to walk that direction as they left the school. "It is very pretty there" she pointed out "I think you'll like it."
Chris nodded, "I think so. Last time I saw it, it was mid January and most of it was covered with ice." He laughed, "Course, if me and Darryl had stayed for more than a month then maybe I'd have seen it without the ice."
Alexis smiled. "Well, I doubt there will be any ice at this time. Ready?" She asked, motioning her hand in the direction of the lake.
"You betcha." Chris said with a smile. He followed her grinning, "I hope it's not frozen already. It'll feel like I never left then!"
Alexis giggled quietly. "Nah, I doubt it...er- or at least I hope not. I'll be really dissapointed that you wouldn't get to see it." She pointed out. She began to lead them to where the lake was. "So why did you leave Hogwarts, if you don't mind me asking that is?"
Chris was quiet a moment as they walked, and he shrugged, "My brother and I...we hated it here." He glanced over, "I was exceptionally shy then, talking to anyone made me queasy. I missed my parents. So Darryl and I, we ran from here."
He lost his smile, "We went and found our parents. We had no clue what they were mixed up in." He shook his head, "I regret running from here. It was honestly the safest place there could have been."
He paused, "Maybe if Darryl and I had stayed then we wouldn't have gotten caught in the middle of it."
She frowned slightly as they walked. "I'm sorry..." she mumbled "That must've been hard for you and your brother to go through that. Where is your brother now?"
Chris smiled tightly, "I have no clue."
He looked past her, suddenly quiet as they walked. Suddenly the lake came into view and Chris grinned. "Wow, this looks awesome."
Alexis glanced up as Chris spoke. She looked at the lake and smiled, it was perfectly clear with slow moving waves hitting along the shore. Its beauty was magnificent. "Well, here we are" Alexis said, still grinning.
"You were right." he said, grinning at her, "It is pretty."
He took a few steps, walking down to the lake shore and looking out over the water. He had a peaceful smile on his face as he looked over it. The lake was nice. He liked it.
((I thought you didn't have classes))
Alexis grinned widely. She took off her shoes and slowly walked into the shallow part of the lake shore, where the water barely touched. The water was warm and felt good against her feet. "So what year is Darryl?" She asked suddenly.
