Stacey sat out side with her hair flying aaround her face wildly from the wind. She was sitting about five feet from the edge of the Lake. She sat, hugging her legs, looking at the trees of the forest. The trees were thousands of different colors. Red, gold, burgandy, yellow-green, and orange. There were more, but to many to name. It was beautiful, all the different colors blended together with the winds blowing the leaves softly.
((do you have a plan for this one?))
((Not really, but I wanted one of a certain few people to kinda join.))
Nate was looking for Stacey until he had finally spotted her. He smiled at her and ruffled through the little leaves that had fallen and sat next to her. He stared off into the colorful trees and said softly,"Hey."
Stacey jumped as Nate sat next to her. She hadn`t been paying attention. "Hey." She replied. "Whatcha up to?"
((Bucky, please. It`s an A-B conversation... C your way out of it.))
((what's an A-B conversasion and how do I c my self out of it?))
(lmao if im not mistaken shes saying that if your going to b in a conversation you cant just add on to someone elses post a.k.a me. u hangin wit me..hmm. or else she means ur not part of this bulletin..but idrk wat is an A B conversation?)
Nate shrugged his shoulders,"Nothing much, just been around." He sat down by her,"So hows you and Aiden," he said with a light smile.
Stacey sighed softly. "Nate, you don`t have to act like this, you know." she said quietly.
Nate shrugged innocently,"What? I dont know what your talking about.." he said softly.
Stacey rolled her eyes; the last time she had seen Nate, things weren`t really on great terms. "Nate, please." She whispered.
He moved his knees up, and wrapped his arms around them. He sighed,"Fine i wont..but i am going to be nice to you. I mean we are still friends right?"
Stacey noddeed slowly. "I guess." She said quietly. She didn`t know what Nate planned to do or what he was getting at.
Nate asked changing the subject,"Soo," he said awkwardly,"Hows school?" The easiest question to ask but the stupidest.
Stacey rolled her eyes again. "You still can`t think of a good question." She complained. "What do you plan to do for the holidays?"
Nate smiled at her comment,"Uhm..just staying here. My family doesnt have the nerve to tell me straight up that they dont want to see me and so they sent a clumzy owl that ran into my window this morning with a letter attached saying that they were going on vacation and to not wait up for them," he smiled warmly.
"Oh." Stacey managed to say. Then she had an idea. "I`m staying here for break too." She said.
Nate put on a lite smile,"Thats cool. Why arent you going to see ur family?"
Stacey sighed. "My mom and dad aren`t getting along, and well, I just can`t go home right now." She said, her voice geting even more quiet as she spoke.
Nate put his knees up and looked at her," I understand, it must really suck."
Stacey nodded. "Yea, not the greatest thing to come home to."
Nate looked at the scenery,"Yeah..i guess its not. I wouldnt know though."
Stacey bit her lips for a moment. "You probably think I hate you." She said quietly. "With what I put you through." Her eyes became a dusty shade grey.
Nate softened his gaze and faced her eye to eye,"I dont hate you but yes it did hurt what you did to me but its what you had to do. I still love you more than you could ever imagine but im moving on..putting the past behind me and looking forwards to the future," his voice softd
Stacey nodded silently. She was glad he was moving on, but she still had to fight the impulse to take his hand. She looked away from him and clenched her hands together so tightly that her knuckles turned white.
Nate looked down at her hands, they were pale white. She was squeazing to hard,"Are you alright," he asked concerned. He knew by her reaction that she wasnt. He didnt know what it was suppose to mean and he was confused and concerned.
Stacey stayed silent for a moment. "I`m fine." She whispered, loosening her hands a little. Her eyes became a clouded pink.
He grabbed her hand instinctively and held it lightly,"Listen. I know somethings a matter with you. You cant just lie to my face and ignore it. I may still love you but i know what you did was right. I understand even if it is hard..for both of us," he added softly as he looked at her expressions.
Stacey looked up into Nate`s dark eyes. His hand felt unusually warm and soft in hers. She suddenly became overpowered with the feel of his skin against hers. "I`m fine." She repeated looking staright into Nate`s eyes.
Nate still holding her hand, he didnt want to let go. He looked into her eyes, studying them but it was hard to read. It was too clattered and mixed, or maybe it was just him. But he couldnt find out anything. He took in a breath and let it out,"I wish i knew what you were thinking about right now," he whispered to himself.
Stacey kept staring at Nate`s eyes. "Trust me, you don`t." She whispered. And she meant it. She was still absorbed with the feeling of Nate`s hand in hers. Her eyes suddenly became a lot clearer, full of obvious love.
His heart ached. His face flushed but he kept his lips sealed. He replyed a minute later still not looking directly at her,"I guess your right." He shuffled his feet a little.
Stacey realized what he must have thought she said. "Oh, no. I didn`t mean anything in that way. But my thoughts would probaby give you a headache." She added the next part softly. "You can listen if you want." She opened her mind to him: she thought of when she and Nate first kissed. They were by the lake and it was just about the second time they had met. She thought of when she went to Nate for advice about Niles. She thought about the silver ring she had offered him and her turned down. The thougth continued along those lines.
Nate listened his eyes blank for a minute and then he smiled,"Those were some good times." He felt a little relieved wash over him but then sadness appeared again.
Stacey nodded, then let her real minds take over. There were no memories this time, just thoughts. Why did he take my hand? Does he still know? His skin was so soft. I wonder hw much he likes Jackie. I wish he would... She cut off her thoughts, realizing what she was thinking. She turned her head away, embarrassed.
Nate looked up with interested eyes,"What?" He wanted to know why she turned her head away.
Stacey shook her head. "I can`t, I`m sorry." She whispered. "You don`t want me to finish that thought, it would make things so complicated."
Nate sighed quietly,"Okay-i guess i dont need to know anyways."
Stacey gently put her hand on Nate`s and turned to face him. "It`s not that you don`t need to know. Trust me. You do not want to know. IT would most likely ruin our lives. And it`s such a simple thing, too."
I want her. i want her. he thought to himself about Jackie. But i also want Stacey. D*mn im becoming too confused that i dont even understand myself. Maybe i should go to a psychologist. Uhh no, never mind they wouldnt understand and plus they suck at giving advice. All they do is use big words to make them sound smart when really they are just trying to confuse you,he rambled on in his head. He shook his head out of it,Oh forget it. He looked deep into her eyes, he just slightly see his own reflection and he could feel the pain in him,"Who am i?"
Stacey looked deeply into Nate`s eyes. "You are Nate. A vampire. A misfit. Someone who has been heartbroken one time too many."
Nates voice broke out, cracky and unusually different,"I would of been heartbroken anyways. I live forever until someone kills me. I dont age, but you..you wont live till your lifeline is over..." he repeated in a whisper as if reasurring himself,"It wouldnt of worked out..."
Stacey looked at the ground. "I know. And I hate it, but it just wouldn`t."
Nate turned his awkward body to face her more directly,"Yeah it's alright. I..uh," he paused and then said aloud his thoughts,"Wow this is awkward."
A faint smile flickered over Stacey`s face for a second. "Nate, Aiden asked me to marry him." She said softly.
Nate jerked his head. It was like getting smacked in the face but even worse. He gulped down the lump in his throat that was forming. It took him a second to actually get his mind to process. He tried his best to put on a friendly smile but he knew she could see right through it,"Great," he said disheveled. He took a step backwards, and tried his best not to look into her eyes or anything close like that.
Stacey looked up at Nate. "Nate, I know how that must sound, but I really love him. I know that I will always love you and I hope you know that, too. But I can`t live my life wishing for something that can`t happen. You`re invited, but you don`t have to come if you don`t want to. You have a year and three months to make up your mind, I won`t hate you if you don`t come, I`ll understand." She pulled out an ivory envelope and held it out.
"I`m so sorry."
Nate's eyes turned a sudden deep purple black as he looked at the envelope that she offered to him. But he didnt grab it, every nerve in his body seemed to not be connected to his brain. He said nothing for what seemed forever. He shuffled his feet and anger suddenly rose out of his expressionless face. His voice was shockingly stern and sinister,"I dont want to go."
The ivory envelope disappeared. "I understand," Stacey whispered, "I wish you the best." She added nefore turning around and starting to walk towards the school.
Nate narrowed his eyes,"Just give me the envelope," he said blankly,"just in case if i do go." He raised his hand out, gesturing. He had felt a tad sympathetic for the way he reacted towards her.
Stacey shook her head. "It`s okay, Nate. I won`t force it on you." She turned and held the envelope out again. "I`ll really understand if you don`t come, you don`t have to." She eyes were dark blue as she looked at him.
Nate grabbed the envelope, flipping it slowly around. He raised his dark eyes towards hers,"It's alright I'll be there. I may not want to but I'm not promising me wearing a tux. I dont like 'em," he teased lightly in a soft depressed voice.
Stacey gave a small smile. "That`s okay, as long as you`re there, I`ll be happy."
"Jackie will be coming right," he asked much softer. He ruffled his hair, hoping that she would.
Stacey nodded. "Yes, I want her to be a bridesmaid, so she`ll definatly be there."
"Good, I'll be there little bride," he teased with the same sad slight smile.
Stacey looked at the ground, her small smile disappeared. "I`m really glad you decided to come." She said softly.
"I wouldnt miss it for the world. Your my friend, i cant say no. No matter how hard i try," he said softly. The sadness disappearing.
Stacey smiled. "Thank you." She whispered.
He smiled lightly,"Will there be chocalote cake," he asked childishly.
Stacey laughed. "Yes, there will be chocolate cake." She informed.
He smiled,"Alright then, i will be there," he said with determination.
