Nate layed awkwardly on his stiff bed. His foot hanging off the side of it as he looked wide eyed out the foggy window. His body felt like ice as he snuggled against the rough blanket. He sighed as he tried to sleep. He went off his bed with a creak and walked to his dresser type thing and slid on a tshirt. then he tiptoed all the way across the room and into the commonroom. The fireplace was still going but only a little flicker of light was left. He grabbed his wand out of his back pocket and made the fire grew. He grabbed a warm blanket and wrapped it around his arms. Then he collapsed onto the couch and stared at the warm fire.
Stacey pursed her lips. She was sitting in an armchair, hidden in shadows. The light from the fireplace didn`t reveal her. She was debating on saying something or not. She decided it against it for the moment. Her eyes swirled an irriatted green as the stupid voices wouldn`t shut up.
Jackie walked into the coomon room from outside, letting in a cold wind behind her. She noticed a figure on the couch. She snuck up warily wondering if it was a person she wanted seeing her up so late and finally figured out who it was. Her mood lifted almost instantly. "Hi, what're you doing up?" She asked, seating herself also on the long couch.
Leah too was hidden in shadows, and she decided to stay hidden. Her bright eyes didn't show any sign of exhaustion, and she was resisting the urge to twitch. She just couldn't stay too still all the time. She had so much energy... and an endless life in which to use it.
Using all of the blocks she knew, Leah thought to Stacey, ~This aught to be a good show.~
Nate looked up surprisingly to see Jackie. He smiled,"Oh hey. Just couldnt sleep is all," he said as he moved his gaze at the moving flames," So what are you doing up so late?"
"Midnight snack." Jackie said smiling slightly. Then she turned her head into the shadows. "Do you hear any people? Or am I going crazy?" She asked, squinting, but not seeing anything.
Nate shrugged,"I wouldnt know, i just got here." He looked around but saw nothing,"Ehh its probably nothing." He said just blowing it off. He looked at her hands,"So wheres your midnight snack," he asked playfully.
Jackie rubbed her stomach. "Gone now, and it was quite delicious. Nothing better than a rabbit at... Hm one a.m. At least thats what time I think it is..." She said, glancing around for a clock.
Nate smiled,"He why didnt you give me anything to eat," he asked childishly.
"Hm... I dunno. I maybe because I thought you'd be asleep?" Jackie said raising and eyebrow and smiling.
Nate shrugged,"Ehh its alright. I will get something to eat later..since someone doesnt care about me," he said, emphasizing the someone. He looked at her with a innocent smile.
"Oh, so now I'm no longer Jackie? Just someone? Thats nice to know." Jackie said with a tiny laugh. She looked up at him again. "And you know I care about you." She said, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
Leah resisted the urge to laugh. It was so obvious that Jackie wanted Nate, she could hardly hold back. Howver, she managed to stay still and quiet. Any movement would alert them to her presence.
Nate smiled and wrapped his arm around her,"I care about you too." He added playfully,"And you still owe me a snack."
"Want to go get one now?" Jackie asked, smiling like a little kid. "Not like teachers could catch vampires sneaking out." She added with a laugh even at the thought.
Nate hopped off of the couch and put his hand out in a gesture to help her up,"Yeah im starving," he said smiling.
"I'm starving for sanity..." Leah mumbled, slipping out of the room. She stuck to the shadows, so as to not be seen.
"I'm not, but I'll still come with." Jackie said taking his hand and getting up off the couch, but stopped whirling around. "I swear I heard someone!" She said, looking in the shadows.
Nate looked around too feeling like he was being watched,"Yeah i kinda did too," he mummbled. He shook his head out of sanity,"Ehh never mind we are probably just hearing things. But you are eating, im making you," he said playfully.
Leah giggled from the hallway and hid. She hid a few floors down, making it near impossible to find her. This was just too fun to give up.
Jackie's eyes all of a sudden lit up and she smiled like a little kid. "Only if you can catch me first." She said, dropping his hand and tearing off into the woods, laughing as she went.
Nate smiled and ran after her. "I will catch you," he yelled as he chased after her.
Leah giggled, and danced across the lawn that lead into the forest. She immediately took to the trees, and stayed quiet, watching, tracking, listening.
Jackie laughed and ran forther into the forest until she was out of sight, but not hearing range. "Come and get me!" She called, jumping into a tree top and hiding in its branches.
Nate followed her into the forest,"You know i can hear you," he said to Jackie as he looked up towards the trees. He sat down on the ground stubbornly and then plopped on his back and looked up at the branches,"Im not moving," he said playfully.
Jackie out of no where dropped from the trees directly above him and caught herself a centimeter away from landing on him. She giggled. "You found me." She whispered, kissing his cheek lightly.
Nate wrapped his arms around her waist and looked at her as a sparkle appeared in his eyes,"I knew you would come down sometime," he whispered back. Then he kissed her lightly on her lips. He moved her up with him as he sat up, his hands still around her waist.
Jackie smiled, sitting up and tuning in to the forest. She listened for animals running and smiled. "I think I found your snack." She said, looking into the trees where she heard scuffling.
Leah snorted and giggled, knowing it was her that they had heard. She slinked away before they could check.
Nate chuckled softly,"Hmm..i dont think im that hungry anymore."
Jackie got up immediatly listening into the woods. "Ugh, Leah. I would know that laugh anywhere." She said laughing and sitting back down on the grass. "Leah! I know you're out there!" She called into the forest, laughter behind her words.
Leah chuckled softly, moving farther away. She could hear what they were saying still, but she didn't think that they could hear her because she was being very quiet.
Nate smiled,"Hmm..seems like we have an unexpected visitor." He said softly as he looked at Jackie.
"Shall we go surprise our visitor?" Jackie suggested, quietly to Nate smiling. "I'm sure between the two of us we can find her." She added quickly smiling and imagining where Leah would be. It would be nice to give her a good scare.
Nate smiled mischieviously,"Hmm we might be able to," he whispered back. He looked around to see any movement,"Do you know where she is?"
"Not the slightest idea." Jackie murmered laughing in a whisper. "I'm sure we'll manage to find her though." She said, jumping into a tree and climbing to the highest point. She looked at Nate. "I can see the top of your head!" She called in a loud whisper, smiling. Then she looked out into the forest. Searching.
Nate looked up at her and smiled back at her. And then he ran in a circle around the tree that Jackie was in, fastly in a blurr he tried to search for Leah. He paused,"Hmm," as he looked deeply.
Leah sat still at the base of a tree. She rarely sat on the ground, and yet here she was. She hugged her knees, listening to Nate and Jackie's vain attempts to locate her. She would hear them if they started getting closer, and would be able to escape in time.
Jackie listened hard, she heard breathing and immediatly dashed toward the noise trying to be stealthy. As soon as she had Leah in her sights she could run her down. Not take her down, but definately catch up to her.
Nate smiled crookedly as he listened very carefully to every whoosh of the trees and every crack in the trees. He could hear something but he was still trying to locate it.
