She was running away. She seemed to be doing a lot of that lately, but it now seemed like the smartest thing to do considering she was being chased by a maniac. The only thing she could see was trees, but she heard him in the forest behind her. She called for help, but figured it was in vain as she heard no response.
She looked back behind and in doing so tripped over a root in the ground and skidded to a halt over the forest floor. She felt her head hit a tree and the tree tipped over. The next thing she knew she was looking into red eyes from the forest. SHe screamed as loud as she could. "HELP!" She managed before it was cut off by the raucous laughter.
(Hey, join, but when you do, don't kill the evil guy. You can beat him up and stuff, just not kill... ;))
(Awe come on! Don't be scared! ;D Although why you're afraid of little old me I have no idea.. ;)
(haha wow ill try not to be)
Nate skidded to a halt as he heard a scream from a far away distance. He strained his hearing and could hear someone else there too. And then it hit him, hard and cold, a chill ran down his spine as he realized who the girls voice was. Then he ran, as fast and hard as he could possibly do but it didnt take much time since of his vampier powers. He didnt stop though he ran right into the person, with his arms out and pushed him down hard but definately not hard enough to knock person out.
The man growled as he was knocked over from behind. He hit the forest floor with a thud and pushed off the attacker. He quickly looked him over, he seemed angry and as he scanned the boy's memory he found out why. "So you like this girl do you?" He asked, his voice like nails. "Enjoy your time, because I can guaranty you she won't be around for much longer." He growled, disappearing into the night.
Jackie lay on the ground shaking about fifteen feet away. She was petrified and glued to the spot, so she sat rubbing her head in the spot where it had hit the tree.
She looked warily off into the dark as she heard a muted thud and whispers in the night. Then as the voice disappeared she called into the trees. "H-hello? Who's there?" She called, the fear easily visible in her voice. She had never felt so scared, but she had a reason to be terrified of this man, after what he had put her though.
Nate immediatly went to her side and collapsed onto his knees. He looked down at her, ignoring what just happened, and went to consentrating on Jackie,"Hey its just me," he said softly,"Are you alright?"
Jackie jumped up and screamed as someone approached her, but took a deep breath when she saw who it was. She realized she was still shaking and slid back to the ground. "Ugh. My head hurts." She mumbled, rubbing it and looking at the tree she had knocked over.
She suddenly looked around, warily again. "Where is he? Is he gone?" She asked, her eyes flicking from tree to tree.
Nate looked back around the trees,"Yeah for now, but i dont know if that will last long." He looked at her worriedly,"Are you allright?"
"Yeah, fine." Jackie muttered absent mindedly. "Just my head, but thats not the problem. How did he find me?" She started muttering going over things in her head, but she suddenly stopped. Her face looked like she just had a revelation. "Why are you here? I mean, how did you find me?" She asked.
"Uhm..i dont know. I was just walking in the forest cause i was bored and then i heard screaming. And once i realized it was you i kinda just charged towards the dude..." he muttered on. He looked at her blankly," Why?"
"Because, you shouldn't be here." Jackie muttered, shaking her head. "I'm glad that you are though.. or I probably wouldn't be here.... I just I can't believe I got you tangled in this." She went on, closing her eyes.
A moment later she groaned. "Ow... My head really hurts..." She muttered something along the lines of stupid tree.
He didnt reply to her about the first part. Nate looked at her worriedly,"Here let me help you." He moved closer to Jackie and pulled out his wand out of his pocket and conjured a spell. Landing coldly on his hand was a icepack. He gave it to her,"Here you go."
"No, no. Like headache hurt..." Jackie murmered, shifting her position. She frowned, listening into the forest. "Do you hear something?" SHe asked, straining towards silence. But the noise didn't come from the forest, it was like a voice in her head.
He strained his ears but heard nothing. He shook his head,"No..nothing." He asked curiously,"Howd ya get a headache in the first place?"
Jackie didn't respond as her eyes fogged over and stared out into the woods. Then she screamed like a person being burned alive. "Get out of me HEAD!" She screamed, twisting in the grip of a pain that was in her thoughts.
She could hear him in her mind. 'There is no escape... Everyone you love will die...' She saw images of her father dying. "STOP!" SHe screamed, sobbing frantically trying to block her mind through the panic. Then it faded and she stopped screaming. She went limp against a tree, the mental strain was too much, and she fainted. (heh dramatic..)
Nate stared at her worriedly and frantically felt her pulse. His body shook as he sighed with relief that all she did was just pass out. He wrapped Jackies arm around his broad shoulders and he tucked his hand under her legs and lifted her up easily off the ground. "I need to get you out of here. Its not a safe place," he said quietly talking to himself practically. He held her gently, and with one slim kick off the ground he weaved around the trees, all in a big blurr untill he reached the lake that was closer to the school. He put her down gently and ripped off the end of his sleeve and dipped it in the cold water, wrenching the cloth, and setted it on her head to help her wake up from the sudden faint.
Jackie woke, fluttering her eyes before she could focus. She felt something cool on her forehead and tried to sit up, but fell back, dizzyness flooding her mind. "I-it was horrbile." She muttered, shuddering violently. She wrapped her arms around herself like she was trying to keep from falling apart. "My father was dying... He did it..." She said, no emotion showing on her face. Just pure shock.
Nate moved her hand and wrapped his with her.He looked down at her,"Who did what", he asked quietly with concerned eyes.
"He's the person who killed my father." Jackie replied, her face still blank. She heard the voice at the edge of her thoughts again, but put up mind blocks, holding him out for a while. She shivered against Nate. "I can't believe it... He... murdered... my father, and now I'm next."
He looked at her with concerned eyes. He jerked his head towards the trees where he had just came out of,"Hes not comming for you yet. Ill protect you, i promise i wont leave your side,"he whispered softly.
"Not coming yet." Jackie whispered, shuddering. She curled into a ball and wrapped her arms around her knees. "He has too many ways to get to me." She said, still curled into a ball taking deep breath and trying to hold up the mind blacks, but she could feel them slipping away.
"Hes in your head isnt he," he asked finally understanding. His voice a slight shake but a whisper that could only be heard by her. He wrapped his arms around her, and held her gently in his big arms.
Jackie was taking very deep breaths and had a look of complete concentration on her face. "He can only get in my head when he's withen a mile of me... He's not that good." She said struggling to speak. She was mentally exhausted now. Her hands were in fists at her sides and she was starting to catch glimpses of what he was trying to make her see.
"I need to get away from here." She gasped, but unable to do anything. All of her strength was focused on keeping up meager mind blocks she had in place.
Nate lifted her up easily, one hand under her legs and the other on her back. He said seriously,"Where do you want to go?"
"Away from here." Jackie gasped, holding her head. She had her eyes shut tight and all at once a dream like state enveloped her. She felt like she was floating in her own mind. She could feel the blocks and the pressure on them increasing. She felt it coming from one certain direction.
She raised her hand and pointed off toward the edge of the forest. "Go there." She said, her eyes flying open.
Nate nodded, taking in every word she said. "Trust me," he whispered. He digged his now dirty shoes into the ground and ran as fast as he could. His heart pounding with every gasp of breath. His eyes now in slits as he concentrated onto where they were going. He headed to the edge of the forest with such force that he almost lost his footing. He gasped and said in a breathy voice,"Sorry." He was still holding her, but he didnt want to let her go. He was afraid, he didnt know why though.
Jackie took in a deep breath as the voice faded away. "Thanks." She panted standing up and hopping out of his arms. "Better." She said, closing her eyes and leaning on him for balance. "He's out of range... for a while."
She closed her eyes again, slumping to the ground. She groaned and held her head. "That gave me an even worse headache." She said still holding her head in her hands.
Nate stared at her helplessly,"sorry," he mummbled as he looked down. His eyes changed darker as he felt hopeless. He was begginning to get weaker as he looked at her in pain. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes and thought..hard. He thought of power, heart, and of her. He opened his eyes fast, as power suddenly evolved around him, his adrenoline pumping. He evoked the power. He could feel it pulsing in his blood streams. He shook his head,"These things will change," he said with a powerful voice that didnt sound like his.
Jackie jumped back her eyes popping open in surprise. "Nate?" She asked concerned. This didn't seem like him. Jackie started to think about it, but stopped and held her head again when it started pounding in pain again. She curled into a ball against the tree, still holding her head. "Ow..." She mumbled.
He swallowed, his voice normal again,"Oh sorry." He collapsed on his knees and looked at her with concerned eyes. He could still feel the power in his body but he held back from using it,"Is he coming near," he asked softly. He moved his big hand on her head gently and felt her head to see if she was running a fever. His hand was cold and he knew it. He just hoped it would help her head a little.
"Yes. I can feel him... But he's not trying to get into my head anymore." Jackie said, dropping her hands like the headache disappeared. "But he's not giving up." She said, wishing he was. She closed her eyes, trying to hear into the forest. A twig snapped and she heard a voice. "Oh my god." She whispered.
Nate jerked his head as he heard the twig too,"D*mnit," he whispered. He stood up and leaned closely towards Jackie protectively. He wasnt going to loose her. "We should go before he comes for you," he said without looking at her.
"Too late." Jackie whispered standing up as two firures emerged from the dark. Jackie balled her hands into fists and grimaced. One was quite handsome and smiled at Jackie, almost smirking.
"Hello love. Nice to see you again." He said, grinning widely. His eyes were black, pitch black, just like those of the man beside him. "Its been far too long since I've seen you last. You look just as good as always." He said winking.
The other man remained silent and stared coldy at Jackie and Nate. Jackie growled narrowing her eyes. "Andrew... It hasn't been long enough." She said still frowning.
A piercing jolt hit his stomach hard as he heard the remarks they said to Jackie. His eyes turned into dark slits as he flared his fangs, hissing under his breath,"Back off." His adrenoline pumping and his muscles flexed as he waited for an attack to happen.
Andrew grinned even wider at the response from Nate. "Hm... So Jackie, new boy huh? I bet he doesn't even come close to the kind of relationship we had. Remember love?" He said, grinning and obviously sending her a thought.
Jackie hissed in rage. "You could never even compare!" She hissed through her teeth. "I hate you!" She shouted, cringing only slightly as she got the thoughts. "And by the way, that was the worst night of my life." She said referring to the time she had spent with him.
The boy laughed. "Oh come Jackie, dear, you can't keep lying to yourself like this. You know that was-" The boy was cut off by the older man.
"Stop it." The man said. Then he turned towards Nate. "Step aside boy. We just want the girl and we don't have to have any unnecessary fights to get her." He said, narrowing his eyes.
((i have to get off. ill ttyl))
He flinched as he heard their conversation but he didnt move as the man demanded. He stayed next to Jackie, his impulse faster than ever. "No," he hissed,"I will never leave her. I'll fight if i have to, just to keep her." His muscles still flexed as he stared menacing at those two guys. He knew that he wouldnt be able to fight both of them, but he knew also that Jackie was strong and was able to take care of herself too. "Bring it, if you want her you have to go through me," he hissed in a challenge.
The old man twisted his mouth into a thin line and bared his fangs. At the same time, both he and the boy lunged. The old man growled and sprang hard at Nate, crashing into him. A sound like thunder echoed through the forest.
Jackie turned toward the old man, about to lunge, but remembered Andrew. She turned a fraction of a second too late. Andrew crashed into her, flattening her to the forest floor. He leaned down and kissed her gently on the lips. "Mmm..." He said. "To bad your boyfriend's a bit occupied at the moment." He said, now smiling.
A surge of anger flooded through Jackie. Adrenaline pumped through her system and she threw Andrew off of her into a tree. His head snapped against the trunk and Jackie was over in a second, delivering a herd punch to his face. "Don't ever touch me again." She hissed.
Nate growled under his breath as he was knocked to the ground..hard. He ignored the pain that hit his back and with one swift kick pushed the man off of him. His eyes in slits and his heart pounding. He stood up in one swift more and glared venomiously at the man. He looked at the corner of his eye at Jackie and his heart lunged as he saw Andrew kiss her. His heart stopped for a second and then he shook himself out of it and looked back at the man.
The older man growled furiously. "Andrew! Stop playing around! Just grab the girl and go! I've got this one..." He shouted, obviously annoyed at the younger vampire. He stood up and bared his fangs again. He looked unscathed.
Andrew smiled and stood back up grabbing the hand Jackie had used to punch him. "You heard the boss. I have orders, we can play later." He growled, twisting her hand behind her back.
Jackie bit Andrew's hand and growled, spitting in his face. "I said don't touch me!" SHe hissed again, anout to lunge.
Nate growled, he was beginning to get pissed. He didnt even say anything but lunged instead at the man but at Andrew. He wanted so bad to tear him apart into pieces. He knocked andrew down onto the ground. He cuffed and twisted his hands, gripping the boys shirt. He hissed only two inches away from his face, his fangs flarred,"If you touch her one more time, ill kill you," he warned.
Andrew grinned, recieving some unheard signal. He wrapped his hands around Nate's wrists and flipped over pinning him to the ground. He made no move to attack, just held him there as best he could.
When Andrew pinned Nate Jackie growled and jumped at him, but her attack was crippled as something hit her from the side. She felt her hand twist behind her back and behind her Onde laughed. She felt his knee run into her calf and her knees buckled. She landed on the ground, disoriented.
Onde grinned and twisted her hand hard behind her back, not enough to break it, but enough t make Jackie scream in pain. He smiled even wider and looked directly at Nate. "You can't win boy... Just go home and leave us to take the girl. Or will we need to persuade you further?" He asked, yanking her arm hard again.
Jackie felt pain shoot up her arm and looked at Nate, horrified. Would he really leave. "No! Don't leave please don't-" SHe begged, but cut off as she hissed in pain.
Nate hissed as struggled to get out of the tight grip but it was no use. He flared his fangs and whispered,"I will never leave you." He glared menacingly at the ground thinking of ways to get out of this.
