Title: [Dreams] Are [Wonderful] Things, [Aren`t] They?
Post by: potter_fan122 on December 8, 2008, 07:53:17 AM
Stacey knew she was dreaming. Still, she couldn`t help but love what she was dreaming of. She loved him when she wasn`t dreaming, too, of course, but he wasn`t here right now.

The dream was so real, she could actually feel and think things. Normally in dreams it was like you were a ghost moving around or something. But not this time. The dream-Stacey was in a clearing in the forest. Moonlight was shining down onto the crisp grass and she could feel the midnight chil on her bare arms.

She looked around frantically, trying to figure out where she was. She had had enough bad incidents in the forset lately to be worried if she woke up somewhere she knew she wasn`t supposed to be. Wait, she was dreaming already. Duh, she couldn`t dream in her dream, could she? She had never heard of that happeing before.

As Stacey tunred around she saw a dark figure on the opposite side of the large clearing. The figure stepped forward and smiled. Stacey laughed and called out in a voice that sounded far away. "You scared me! Haven`t we had enough problems in the forest?"

The figure laughed too and walked toward Dream-Stacey. They met in the center of the field and, somehow, she now knew that she was in the fire-proof clearing in the forest. The one only she and him knew about. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and rested her head against his chest. The necklace he had given her was squished between them as he carefully wrapped his arms around her waist.

"I would never hurt you." He said into her ear.

Stacey smiled and could tell her eyes had changed a brilliant blue. "I know." She teased. She pressed her lips to the base of his neck and drew her lips up to the corner of his jaw.

The figure ruffled Stacey`s hair, his silver ring shone in the moonlight. Stacey pressed her lips against his cheek, then his lips. He kissed Stacey back, then, suddenly, he wasn`t there.

Stacey fell forward from the sudden loss of support. She felt the dew from the grass seep into her jeans and onto her hands, but she just sat there and looked around.

"Aiden?" She called, without a response. Her eyes had become a clouded shade of grey.

Shapes darker than the shadows appeared between the trees at the edge of the round, fire-proof clearing. They were hooded. One of the swept forward; nothing touched the ground where feet should have been.

"Hello." One of them called in a man`s voice. "We`ve been waiting for you."

Stacey stood up wairily. ""Who are you?" She asked. Her voice sounded small compared to the man`s.

A laugh-like sound came from the hooded figure. "Follow me." He said, ignoring her question. He turned and slowly made his way to the edge of the clearing where he turned and looked back at the girl who hadn`t moved. "I said come along." He demanded.

Stacey, dreaming and having no control over what happened (who could control what they dreamed?), started to follow the figure.

The figure led her through the trees to a much smaller clearing. There was one huge tree that had to of been at least twenty feet in diameter. Somehow, Stacey ended up right in front of that tree. The figure came closer to her, forcing her to back against the tree. She was tied to the tree in the blink of an eye. She could feel the rough bark against her back and the tightness of the ropes that held her.

The figure floated to the other side of the small clearing and faced Stacey. "Now, do you know what is happening to you, my dear?" It asked politely.

Stacey shook her head, finding she couldn`t speak.

The thing looked like it nodded. "Good. Do you know what will become of you?"

She shook her head again, slower this time. Her mind was spinning. What did he mean?

The figure nodded again. "Well, I`ll tell you." It paused. "You are going to die, and I am going to take control of your body."

((No one`s on.))

Stacey`s eyes shot bright red. She opened her mouth to say something, but the figure disappeared.  Dream-Aiden ran from out of the trees with a big smile on his face. "Hey, why`d you run?" He asked. He walked up to Stacey, apparently he couldn`t see that she was tied to a tree.

Stacey smiled despite her present condition. She got ready to say something, but found again that she couldn`t speak. The figure that appeared to be Aiden stepped closer to her and covered her mouth with his.

Stacey gasped her breath and found that she wasn`t attached to the tree. Aiden was no where to be seen. There was, instead, a man that looked to be in his early thirties stading a few feet from her with his arms crossed. There was a bemused expression on her face.

"That was quite intesting." He said with a disgusting smile.

Stacey took a step back, her right shoulder brushing the large tree. "That was you?" She exclaimed furiously. A flame grew in her left plam.

"There, there." He said softly. "I thought you would be more comfortable in the arms of someone who was familiar."

Stacey took another step back and raised her arm, the flame now about the size of a volleyball. "I`m going to kill you."

"Not if I kill you first."

Stacey shot the fire ball at the man, but it flew through him, not harming him the way it would have to a real person. She put her hand on her thigh to take one of the knives out, but found that she wasn`t armed.

The man laughed. "One, you didn`t sleep with your knives tonight. Two, did you really think that I would let you have any possible chance that you would defeat me?" He mused.

Stacey took another step back. She was scared. She didn`t know what was going to happen to her, or how she could stop what was happening. She remembered something; She was dreaming. Wake up! She thought to heself. Wake up you stupid oaf if you don`t want to die!

The sleeping Stacey stirred slightly, struggling to wake up. She dlowly drew her hand up to her face and dug her nails into her skin. She sat up, awake. She was breathing heavily. Was it just a dream, or something much worse?

((There`s more.))

It was the next night and Stacey sat in her bed. Her back was straight and stiff, locked in an uncomfortable postion in hope that would keep her from going to sleep. Her eyes were grey and the white of her eyes were slightly bloodshot.

A held an energy drink in her right hand and a needle in her left. Her left hand was positioned so that if she fell asleep, it would poke her.

A girl who`s bunk was near Stacey`s sat up sleepily. "What wrong with you?" She asked in a snotty voice. Stacey stood up and headed to the common room. Her eyes were wide open as she jumped down the stairs, but not from the energy drink, from fear.

Stacey sat down in a wooden chair in a way that would make it practically impossible to sleep. Frankly, she was exhaused. As she had a right to be. She needed help, but who?

She ran a hand through her hair and decided to go outside. Who fell asleep outside? She didn`t bother to grab a jacket as she made her way outside.

The cool night air blew Stacey`s hair as a breeze rustled the leaves. Stacey walked out towards the Lake, not sure what she was doing out there. She stood a few yards from the water in case she collapsed and fell in. She stared out at the stars and soon found herself sitting down with her arms wrapped around her knees.

She identified all the constelations she knew of and started to name the stars. Trying to remember those things somehow kept her awake. Despite her efforts, she was no match for the sleeping spell that had been placed on her.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She knew she was dreaming again, but her dream self didn`t seem to be concerned with that. She was in the large, fire-proof clearing again. Aiden was there too with his arms wrapped around Stacey`s shoulders. He kissed the top of her head, much like the way the real Aiden would. A voice that hissed in her ear is what made her remember the night before.

There, there. I won`t hurt you. Never will I hurt you. My other selves may, but not I. There was humor behind tha voice, but it made Stacey shiver with fear.

Thank you, my two loyal fans. GO YOU! Yea, I didn`t have a plan for writting this or anything. After the first post I just let it go. I wrote the first thing that came into my head. It was really weird actually, I really didn`t even think about what I was writting, I just wrote.

The Dream-Aiden ran his fingers through Stacey`s hair then lifted her head carefully. He pressed his lips against hers.

Stacey growled and freed one of her hands. She punched the figure in the jaw and jumped back, pulling a knife off her hip. "I`m a fast learner." She hissed.

The figure stood up, aparently unaffected by Stacey`s hit. "Then you`ll learn a few thing tonight." He hissed back.

Hooded figures appeared from the trees and two stepped forward. One turned into what looked like Nate. The other, James, Stacey`s father. Stacey kept the knife in the air. "They`re illusions. Nothing more." She announced. The figure that looked like Nate stepped forward and held his hand out. "Come with me, Stacey. Don`t run from me." When Stacey didn`t move, he stepped closer and took her hand gently. He ran her fingers through her hair.

"Please, Stacey. Follow me. Leave Aiden." He whispered, leaning down to be closer to her ear.

Stacey`s lower lip trembled. "I will not." She said through clenched teeth. The figures seemed so life-like. The sounded just like the real people, looked just like the real people, and even smelled like the real people. She shoved the knife into Dream-Nate`s chest.

Dream-Nate gasped and dissolved. Dream-Aiden smiled and wrapped Stacey in his arms. "There, there. It`s alright." He whispered. Stacey forced the knife through his chest, too. Stacey ran. She didn`t know if it would do any good, she was dreaming after all. But she had to try. This dream was just too real. Way too real.

She made her way into a small clearing, different from the one she had been taken to the night before. She leaned against a tree, her chest heaving in an attempt to breathe. This dream was also real in the fact that she was effected by everyting. She could feel things.

She turned as she heard a twig snap and realized she had dropped her knife. James stepped out from the trees. "Hey, baby girl." Stacey`s dream-dad said merrily. "I was wondering where you where. Why`d you run from me?"

Stacey gasped and fell backwards. She clutched her ankle and felt something, something metal stuck in her leg. She felt a sticky wetness. Blood.
