Title: Temporary Insanity
Post by: goblet_fulla_fire on December 15, 2008, 11:04:18 AM
Goblet was taking a walk hand in hand with a girl. Goblet had imagined himself doing this before and that was when he had a clean state of mind. But when he had imagined so, the girl was usually conscious. This time, this is not the case.

This particularly striking 3rd year was now getting her hair and clothes dirty colliding with the dirt and colored leaves as she was being dragged. She had been prowling about the forest, inspecting trees, singing to herself, when Goblet leaped on her knocking her down and grasping her tiny head tightly. He had jammed his wand to her throat, feeling her helpless struggling and hearing her high pitched squeaks, he muttered an incantation that normally would disable an adult at mid-range. However if one does it to a child at close range, it just knocks them unconscious. There is no blood.

No blood.

Kills thunder needle eye.

Words that pass right by like a train.

Through spikes, through eyes.

Why does Goblet think such things?

A spike through your mother's eye.

Why does Goblet know such things?

Goblet stopped dragging the girl and released her hand, stopping the tension on her arm. He stood over her, looking directly at her blank face. It's so pretty. Does it stay pretty after it is cut with a dagger?

Gabe wants his life back for seven bounties with even more requests.

Another flash of words devoid of meaning, but meaningless doesn't necessarily mean Goblet shouldn't get angry. So he reached into his robes and grabbed his knife and pulled it out. As he was about to begin, he stabbed himself in the thigh. He didn't really mean to though, so he withdrew it from his body. Ugh, it was covered in blood now. It's going to make a mess. He really should begin now.

He wiped his bloody knife on the 3rd year's robes and he was just about to carve her face.

"That's quite enough."

Ginny was standing not ten feet away, her arms folded and looking very pissed off. But her voice was soft, devoid of anger. She stood defensivly only because she was pregnant and refused to be caught off guard.

"Let the child go. Now."

The red head didn't need a wand to be intimidating. She'd been the most powerful psychic to go through Hogwarts in centuries, in addition to her magical abilities.
She frowned, tilting her head slightly.

"What is your reasoning behind this?"

Did the 3rd year just squeak again? If she did, it was in a very authoritative manner.

No, a different source. Goblet slowly turned his head towards a bloody head. No it's not. It was a girl with blood in her head. No, it is a girl with red hair.

His bent over position with the knife was very incriminating it seems. But why on earth would someone ask that he not carry out his business?

"Who are joo, dilly dally girl person?" asked Goblet, straightening up. "You can help me if you want. There aren't any chairs around here though, but I can uh, uhhhhhh...." His fingers were stinging for some reason.

What was that girl talking about again? Is she lost or something?

Listen betray knights.

"Hold-hold on."
Goblet held the knife tightly. He was very angry now, but at least he thought he was having a time. Goblet bent down and yelled straight into the face of the girl, "YOU'RE NOT BEAUTIFUL ENOUGH YET!" He edged the knife slowly to her face.

(Aahhhh, I have to get to bed now.)

"Woah there cowboy!"

Ginny thrust her hand out, and although she was seveal feet away, the knife was knocked from his hand by her telekinesis. It landed a good four feet away from him. Ginny was now shaking her head.

"I'd love to help you, but you see, there's a problem. You can't make her beautiful enough yet."
Ginny knew insanity. SHe spent so much of her own time in it.
"Why don't you and I have a nice chat?"

(Woah there cowboy? And here I was expecting you to blast me away.)

"Okay okay okay okay okay, it-it, everything is good now. Anger away." Goblet calmed himself through flowing hand gestures.

Wait a minute, wasn't Goblet holding a knife? Deduce things, deduce things. Goblet was holding a knife, the red head girl is here now, and now it's gone. She took it. But she was not being logical about this. Why wouldn't she let him carry out his business?

"A chat" she had said. He had one of those before, and sometimes it lead to some fun. But there was the 3rd year to contend with.

Brothel brothers swiveling sisters.

Goblet was just staring forward. He turned slowly turned to that bloodhead. "You're not being logical. You need to start being logical. All right?"

"Of course. I apologize, sometimes my stupidity gets the best of me."

Ginny smiled, and all though she was pregnant, she still looked like she was seventeen. She nodded at him, "Why don't you come over here? My condition makes it harder to move." She moved her hand in front of her slightly extended stomach with a smile.

She put one hand behind her back, closing it in a fist. Preparing herself for the unexpected.

She can't move, she says. But she does have the knife. Where else would it be?

"Hold on," said Goblet. He evaluated himself. For some reason, his thigh was hurting.

Goblet bent down low and snatched up the girl, throwing her body over his shoulder. He turned to the red haired girl. "I still can't pull up any chairs." He walked toward her, mentally preparing himself in case the bloodhead decides to kill him, put him up for ransom, and dissolve his body.

But why would she do such a thing?

Seven swans.

Goblet suddenly flushed with anger. But he shouldn't do anything to her yet. This one is attentive.

Ginny nodded, making her face sincere, "Oh, I know."

She smiled, "It's okay, Keith. Standing is good for people."

Subtly, she shifted her weight. Mentally, she knew that if Xaver found out about this he'd kill her. She was putting not only herself but her unborn child in danger. But if she had her way, he's never know.
"Or so I hear."

She kept her fist behind her, concentrated energy growing around it.
And she kept an inviting smile upon her face.

"What did the girl do that requires you to pay so much attention to her?"

"She was flushin' around herself, and she wasn't in good position. She dawdled and found rides with tree limbs and she should be with me." Goblet spoke true, in the literal manner of speaking. Sense wise, however, what could be gained?

Goblet wrapped both his arms around the corpulence of the girl, feeling the body warmth and heartbeat. How beautiful. "That was crazy. I wasn't being logical. I shouldn't cut her." The words were thoughts in his mind but he somehow spoke them first. "And my head hurts."

He started rubbing her back, up and down the soft warm back. "This one is really cute."

Plastic eye balls.

And another anger surge. Control it, Goblet! Then you might be able to get the bloodhead. "But I hate her, so... much." He made a fist, scrounging up the robes on her back. Had there not been fabric, her flesh would have been coiled up in Goblet's hand.

"You hate her?"

Ginny seemed impressed by his choice of words, pretending to ignore the illogical ones. She didn't, actually. Everything being said was being remembered for later use.

"Well, that's not very nice, is it?"

She turned her eyes upon him and frowned, "If you hate her, perhaps you should put her down. Harming her physically isn't much of a way to harm someone. It's sloppy. Childlike."

"It's not very... clean," replied Goblet, agreeing with her. "How would one-"

Dogfood skulls.

"-kill another in a beautiful and deserving manner? Something on the inside, I mean, wouldn't you say, would you NOT agree with me? The inside?" Goblet's right arm started to get painfully numb. He removed it from the girl and allowed her to be balanced with his left. For some reason, his right arm started shaking unnaturally. He should just let it be. But hell, did it hurt.

"Actually, there are far worse things than death."

Ginny hadn't always agreed with Albus Dumbledore when he was alive. But this was one thing she did agree with him on.
There were far worse things.

"I can show you some of them...but you need to put the girl down and come with me."

"I'm sorry, you bloodhead. I'm afraid I can't let you do that to me. I must abide to the laws of self-preservation, you-you bloody hell, you."

Goblet knew he had to show a little resistance, so as to keep the bloodhead at bay. So... this one can offer something that can actually be worse than the fate of death? Such as which must be beautiful too. Goblet was definitely curious and it was a little difficult to hide his excitement, as if a childhood dream was wrapped in a box and swung back and forth in front of his face, just out of reach of his grasp. And this bloodhead, she knows something. Oh God, how wonderful! Maybe Goblet will let her go for her services, and his mercy will serve as payment. He loved how clueless she was about this.

"But maybe, you could... just show me, something, I mean, uh, all you know about this subject. You really should. Those moral people would do the same thing, you know?"

Parchment.

A slight anger rush, but it can be controlled. Goodness, was he excited. Goblet heaved the girl off his shoulder and fastened her wrists together over a low branch. He welded them together with her wand so she could not escape easily, as least without not severely scraping her own wrists.

Goblet turned to the bloodhead, "Show me. Lead the way, and show me."

Ginny nodded, taking a step back as he secured the girl. Once he had let go of her, Ginny pulled her hand from her back, throwing the ball of pure energy into Goblet's chest.

She didn't take the time to see if it connected.

Faster than sight would allow, she had ran forward, pulling out her own wand in the process and severing the rope that bound the girl. She slumped against Ginny, and she almost lost her balance before vanishing the child into thin air.

Away from them, transporting her out of Goblet's reach.

Now, Ginny had to worry about herself.
Title: Re: Temporary Insanity
Post by: goblet_fulla_fire on December 24, 2008, 03:02:08 PM
In an instant, Goblet's mind had an entire day's worth of pondering, regret, and emotional experience. The second he felt the light from the bloodhead's hands connect with his chest, he shot backwards a few feet.

The bloodhead said she was going to do something to help him, but she attacks Goblet and steals the girl. It did not make any sense. Why was she doing what she was doing? Didn't she want what any other human being would want?

Upon falling to the ground, he felt like his lungs had collapsed and breathing in or out was impossible. In a small pit in his body there was a very hot boiling. He felt like there were stinging fumes coming from his mouth and nose. The boiling had turned into a rumble, and Goblet vomited over to his side. His bile was an unnatural green.

Tears in his eyes, he stumbled away from the bloodhead and found support on a nearby tree that was away from her. His nose was bleeding, his hip now had a heartbeat, and there was a gooey green substance trickling from the sides of his mouth.

It is time to get back to the family

The cry for help, it seems.

Bloodhead bondage pirate stake and piano wire.

But there is the revenge to consider. Oh, how the bloodhead deserved an eternity's torture!

Goblet now had his and the girl's wand on his side. He was staring straight at the bloodhead with pure hate in his eyes. His acute attention and the low tree branches will keep her from her cheap shotting again unless she intends on getting hit with Goblet's spell in the process. The substance still continued to trickle out of his mouth, but he paid no notice.

"I hate you so much. You aren't logical at all," growled Goblet, his anger as booming as his hate. "But before we move on to the-" Goblet stopped himself, then started again. "I need to know why you did this."

Ginny knelt down on one knee, breathing heavily. She vanished her own wand, grinning harshly.
"I don't need to explain myself to you."

She clasped her hands together in front of her, rubbing them together, creating friction.
"Kiddo, it's time to end this little game." Her eyes were dark, "Before someone gets hurt."

She frowned, her mind slipping into survival mode. She had been a soldier, and an auror. She had learned long ago how to kill, and even further back, she knew how to keep alive.

Lavy appeared next to Ginny, her eyes were locked on Goblet. She looked concern, but under all of that it was clear that she was both frustrated and angry, "Goblet, that is quit enough, love. It's time to get control of yourself."

She stepped out and directly in front of Ginny so that he could no longer see her, "She did it because she had to. It's her job to keep the students safe. But she will kill you if you push her any more. It's best if you come with me."

The bloodhead gave her warning after refusing to explain to herself. Then a dark girl appeared beside her, telling him that the bloodhead was justified and right by calling her illogicalness a job. And now she expects Goblet to come with her. Goblet hid his grin. WHY?

"No chance," Goblet called out. "The bloodhead's deceitfulness was the start of a pattern, with you being next in line." He gestured to the dark one. "I was convinced, then attacked. You convince me, then you'll attack me. It's a d**n pattern that you don't expect me to realize! I don't care what you name or call things to justify them. To me, it's just trickery on two different levels: to convince yourselves, and to convince me. I myself will do as I will and I don't need to call it anything. NO CHANCE!"

So the bloodhead had backup. Smart thing on her part; but she was dumb enough to use up her lie for the sake of a cheap shot. Now she has firmly established herself as an enemy, and the dark one beside her has done just the same from mere association.

One.

They betrayed him. D**n it all, he was betrayed. Casually issue trust once and they try to hurt you, and after giving high hopes too! They deserved the bloodiest of demises. None of this kill-on-the-inside shenanigans.

"I am not coming with you. I would rather kill myself than come with you alive." He spoke true.

Ginny stood up, brushing herself off and letting out a small chuckle.

"Okay, fine, have it your way."

She threw her hand out, palm facing Goblet. But she didn't shoot energy this time, instead she swiped her hand through the air. Her telekinesis hit him, hard, throwing him backwards into a tree. She grinned.

"You can die. I don't care."

Goblet felt the scratchy bark connect to his entire spine with a slam. But he was ready for whatever the bloodhead had in store for him. He fell back on to the ground on two feet, slightly shaken but still standing upright and with good posture. A tingle slowly spread around his back. His anger subsided as the pain grew, but he was not reacting to it. Then he felt a sensation inside his head, as if a large boulder was being moved. It felt like a sea change. He looked up to the bloodhead, wand ready to use but no current intent to use it yet. He doesn't want to fight back at the moment, because this bloodhead was a mystery to him.

"I didn't ask you to care." Goblet's voice reflected no pain, and he felt like his mind was able to construct sentences better. "Of course in killing me, you are killing a student. Tell me, do you just do what you want to do or am I an 'exception' in your 'job?' And if you're still stubborn enough to refuse to answer my question, consider it my last request before you kill me."

Goblet felt the tiny stick of wood lodged up his sleeve. He will not cheap shot, but he will defend himself or get away. And if the bloodhead pursues him, then he will have no choice but to kill her or die trying.

Grandly confidential.

He definitely wouldn't mind killing her right now. He definitely wouldn't mind.

"There's no need for a last request. You don't have to die. Dying isn't something that should be an option. Your just confussed, Goblet. You don't even know you are. Ginny and I just want to help you make sense of everything. Get back to the way things were. Don't you remember how everything was?"

Lavy stepped forward a little. If he was going to attack someone it was more likely he would do it to the closet. She wasn't about to let Ginny take a hit. She knew how powerful Goblet was when he concentrated enough.

Ginny scowled darkly. "Once you attempt to kill for your own selfish reasons, you are no longer a student in my eyes." She didn't look happy, and wasn't. He angered her so very much.

"Thanks a lot," Goblet replied back to the bloodhead while dismissing the dark one.

Suddenly it felt like there were more boulders being moved inside his head. He started getting a little dizzy but he was able to steady himself without any external notice. There had been... deep voices, that were making him angry with every random word they conjured. How did they get there? Enough. He mustn't reflect on such a thing just now. There was the bloodhead to consider.

So Goblet was not a student anymore? Or at least in the way that matters most in the present situation. Meanwhile, the dark one questions his sanity and attempts to make him recall the past. He couldn't pull the past up at the moment. Even if he could, wouldn't the now matter more? He didn't have time for this. Or rather, he did but he was getting slightly impatient.

Goblet took a few seconds to think. It was naught but a few seconds but it was very extensive thinking and consideration. Goblet was not under the bloodhead's apparent protection once he expressed his intent to kill the student earlier. Why did he do that? Why did Goblet even want to kill the girl in the first place? He hadn't been making sense. It was as if he was under a spell, although he can confidently say that he definitely wasn't, but it sure as hell felt like it.

Now the dark one stands there, desiring that only one action be taken to finish all this while the bloodhead stands there angrily desiring many actions to end this conflict. If he went peacefully, the bloodhead may kill him by cheap shotting him again as he is not a "student" anymore. And there was still a chance the dark one may not even desire peace. He'd been tricked before somehow recently. If he resisted, he may kill one or both of them or he would die. He had to make a choice.

"I've considered the circumstances and I want to live, so I will not risk surrendering myself; nor would I want to for that matter. I will be going now and if either of you follow me, I will take it as an attempt on my life and I'll try to kill you until I die or you flee."

Goblet's eyes narrowed to the bloodhead's. She is the one that Goblet need consider in this situation.

Ginny snickered, then began to giggle. And finally, outright laughed, "You think I'm going to let you go?"

She stopped laughing so abruptly, it was as if someone had flicked a switch.
"No. If you come with us, I swear to not harm you so long as you cooperate with me."

She grinned then, narrowing her eyes, which were considerably dark.
"But, should you try to leave now, or should you choose to be uncooperative, I'm going to have to harm you."
Title: Re: Temporary Insanity
Post by: Xaver on December 26, 2008, 01:12:28 PM
Xaver appeared without ceremony. No stir of magic to forewarn his presence, no breath of distilled air at his approach, and no sound as he leaned a shoulder onto the nearest tree. He barely felt the ridges of bark against his side, the dark coat draped over his creature thick enough to protect him from their feel, and the chill that he'd never known until very recently. He refused to believe he was sick, but there was a point he'd gone beyond, where he could rationally believe he was in any sort of normal state.

His raven hair, longer than it had been in weeks but still shorter than he'd ever kept it, easily enhanced the predatory, dark angles of his features. Handsome planes that were harder, and sharper, in the blanket of night and the encasing of shadows about him. He didn't move into the light, but instead remained in the dark, almost camoflauged as the black shades seemed to mold about his lean form, as much as the light seemed to abandon.

His arms crossed over the wide expanse of his chest, and his probing gaze narrowed as he watched.

Goblet was annoyed by the bloodhead's boldly confidence. No, Goblet never thought she was going to let him go!

The bloodhead did mean business though. "Cooperating" meant giving up his wand, which meant a potential easy kill for her. He had just trusted her once this day... didn't he? Goblet couldn't remember precisely what the circumstance was or rather even how this whole thing started, but that is not the issue at the moment. Point is, Goblet wasn't going to be taken for no reason.

"I will not be bossed around when some random person demands it. I-" Goblet stopped talking as a seemingly big boulder moved inside his head, "I will leave you with the gift of allowing you to strike first as I take my leave, even though in reality it will be your third."

Goblet started steadily moving away from her in a tactical manner, wand in hand. He was ready for every spell, whether he can dodge it, reflect, or even endure it.

"You can even have anyone you like help you! And your welcome!" he called out in a mocking manner. He hoped that his charity would anger her further.

Lavy rolled her eyes. She knew Goblet was off his rocker (he usually was) but this was getting ridicules. She considered her options.

She could help Ginny take him by force. This had the potential to get someone hurt and the person mostly likely to die would be Goblet. So that was pretty much out of the question.

She could let him go. Also, potentially problematic when Goblet would come across someone else and have the urge to kill. Following him wouldn't help either since that would only cause a fight, the last thing she wanted.

So her only chance was to reason with a mad man. Try and convince him that she really meant him no harm. She looked around her. Ginny was a good ten feet behind her and Xaver was close to the trees, at least 30 feet away. Swiftness would be key in getting him to listen.

"Goblet," She said in a harsh voice, "I know you remember me. Don't pretend you don't. Forget about Ginny. Forget about everyone," She paused, "How could you think I would ever betray you?"

The dark one was trying hard to reason with Goblet. The farthest Goblet could go with her image is that he thinks he has seen her around once before, but nothing more than that. Would she ever betray him? Well... yeah. The bloodhead did it once before and he had no reason to believe that the dark one could be any different.

"I don't know who you are, girl. Leave me be." Goblet spoke as true as the dark one sounded. He still was moving cautiously away waiting for the bloodhead's first attack and whoever that may join her.

Lavy took a step forward for every one he took back. She could see by his movements that he would much rather just run but was prepared for a fight. Time was running out for this to turn out well. She crossed her arms as a strong breeze came though the trees.

"I am seriously insulted now. I can't wrap my head around the fact that you can't remember me. At all. We were best friends for months and after that we dated for almost a year. You couldn't have forgotten that. You must remember how much I loved you."

Ginny shook her head, slowly, holding out her arm to stop Lavy from taking even one more step. She had delt with enough insane people to know that reasoning didn't work.
She had spent enough time inside the insane mind, and even understood them. As far as understanding insanity goes.

She glanced backwards, aware f him the very moment Xaver appeared. But that was all the attention she gave him. She focused on Goblet, clasping her hands together and frowning. She narrowed her eyes, parting her hands and holding them about three inches apart. Between her palms crackled pure energy, looking blue white, like lightning.

"Last chance, Keith."

How could the dark one seem so sincere yet Goblet could swear he has only seen her at the most in passing? There is acting and then there is the heart. She must be full of one or the other, but Goblet plainly just does want to take any risks.

"I don't remem- I mean, I just don't know you! All right!?" said Goblet in exasperation.

Another boulder had moved inside his head. It was starting to make him dizzy but his perceptions felt like they were getting clearer by the second. He had now come to realize of his feelings of being watched other than that of the present company. Such feelings made him uncomfortable even more than this dangerous situation involving the bloodhead and the dark one.

Wait, why does he call them the bloodhead and dark one? Sure, one girl had red hair and the other was African but how did he conceive such outlandish names for them? And hadn't Goblet seen them both before one time? And even talked to them?

Focus! The redhead was preparing to attack, and she issued her final warning. He best prepare.

Goblet was still moving farther away, giving him a better chance to dodge her impending attack if such is possible. He felt another wand inside his robe. And right next to that wand he felt an object. Upon reaching inside his robe pocket and grasping the object, according to his touch he found it to be a glass vial. And right next to that, a scrunched piece of a paper. But what was important right now was the extra wand that could be of use if his primary one broke. The vial which probably still has a potion in it might just be of use if had time to see what it said on its cover. However he must be careful. It could just be pure poison for all he knew.

"I think I would live longer if I fought back," replied Goblet to the redhead, straightening up. "I don't trust you enough with my life, which means that I think you would probably just kill me anyway if I surrendered. So enough chances. Didn't I just say that you could attack first?"

She saw and heard the pause in his movement and speech. A pause was all she needed. She walked around Ginny and took a step towards him and then another and another until she was halfway between Ginny and him. And then she took five more so that she was closer to him then her. Maybe vulnerability was the next step into getting out of.....well whatever state of mind he was in.

She hoped that by tossing caution to the wind, she wouldn't end up hurt. Or worse. Her faith in him tried to run away, but she wouldn't let go. She refused to believe that the Goblet she knew could be so...was evil the right word? Or just confussed. She took a deep breath and spoke again.

"You do remember us. If you would only just take the time to think about it. That's Ginny, remember? Her temper matches her hair sometimes. But I want you to think about my name. You made fun of it the first time we met. You asked me if my mum liked the flower. We had a whole conversation about it in my parents old house."

Another boulder moved inside Goblet's head. Senses were getting tuned. His mind was becoming clearer. All he needed to do was to get out. Get his head right. There was a problem with him. There just had to be. He wouldn't be in this state for no reason. Something must have happened. For instance, Goblet knew he went to a wizardry school, but he couldn't even remember its name right now. Something must have happened to him.

The girl was recalling a small list of memories she claims to have shared with him. She seemed sincere but nonetheless....

"Okay, you... girl, I admit that there is a possibility that we knew each other. I now recognize that I do not know things that I should know. My middle name, for example."

It was madness, pure madness. Goblet had just tried to remember precise details about his familiy. And nothing was coming up. He just knew he could remember if he had a little more time but there definitely wasn't enough time in this situation.

"Even if I knew you two, I still intend to leave here, with or without a fight. I am going to find out why I am here and what exactly happened to me."

Ginny frowned, "You honestly don't remember any of it?"

The blue light between her hands faded, and she seemed skeptical. She raised one eyebrow, and didn't move. To this point, she had considered his behavior an act.

"Really?"

Her dark eyes met his as she searched his face, and subsequently looked through his topmost thoughts. They were jumbled, erratic...and yet, there was a small underlying system to them. She tilted her head, folding her arms.

"Do you know where we are? How old are you? What's your first name?"

She fired these questions rapidly, keeping her eyes on his.

The redhead indicated as Ginny had dimmed her energy ball. And now she was sincere too. She took a more concerned and less hostile stance and now started asking questions.

"A forest! Goblet! Seventeen!" Goblet replied almost impatiently. Wait, why was he answering her questions? Probably because he doesn't want it to be this way. Or rather, he doesn't want to be in this situation with them. How were they different from anybody else? When he thought about hexing the two girls into oblivion, his emotions betrayed him. Why was this so? They must have meant something to Goblet before. But he shouldn't give in so easily. Think.

Goblet remembered that he had another wand among a couple other things in his robe pocket. Would they know anything about it? They just might. Goblet could feel it. And maybe that could help him remember.

Wand still out and pointing (at this point Goblet was glad he didn't strike first,) he reached in his pocket and grabbed everything in there and held it out. He looked away from the girls to see what he had just secured: a wand that wasn't his own, a half empty large vial filled with a green potion, and a crumpled piece of paper. He held it out stiffly for Ginny and the other girl to see.

"Call me crazy, but you two wouldn't happen to know anything about these things would you?" asked Goblet sincerely. He had stopped moving away. His distance from them was satisfactory anyways. Upon holding out his pocket's little bundle, he noticed that the piece of paper he was holding had writing on it. It struck him a little oddly.

"I can't say that I have Goblet. Do you remember where you where before you got to this forest? Maybe that's where you got all theses things." She stayed still this time. There was no reason to put him back on the defensive by moving closer.

Besides, from the place that she was standing she could see the most intresting thing of all. It wasn't what he had with him in his outstretched hands, odd as that may be. It was what he didn't have that made her want to get a closer look.

Identification, money, lint. It was like his cloths were brand new now that she had a better look. Slightly dirty from being in the forest, yes, but otherwise they seemed like they had just been pulled off a rake.

Goblet heard her question, but he put his priority on the piece of paper that was clutched along with the bundle in his hand. Never mind the strange wand and half empty potion. Goblet, aware of the next action he is making and how vulnerable it made him, pocketed his wand and reached for the paper pinched in his grasp. He grabbed it, unextended his other hand and uncoiled the crumpled piece of paper.

It was a torn book page.  At the top of the page was the title, "Cropperweld's Animal Sedative," and a list of what looked like ingredients. Was the vial that was now in his pocket the potion this page mentions? Goblet instinctively looked at the bottom of page which supplied only the second half of the instructions:

After all of the proper ingredients been mixed and procedures been initiated, place the potion in an area where it can now receive sunlight. It need be exposed for no less than three minutes before you are done, after which the potion is now ready for practical use assuming it has turned a solid green color. The potion must be taken orally for any large beast you need incapacitated.
WARNING: This potion even in small amounts is not meant for humankind. Human consumption of this substance may have unpleasant physical and psychological side effects and would likely prove fatal to the beholder.

Goblet had underlined the word, "fatal." Why would he do that? It was clear that he had the potion that was just indicated. It was half gone so he must have used it on something. Why did he underline "fatal?" Goblet shut his eyes tightly, trying to remember and put pieces together. He underlined "fatal." Oh God, was he trying to poison somebody? Why would he do such a thing?

But then something clicked in his head. Right then and there, he remembered just earlier after he was knocked against the tree by Ginny's blast resulting in green liquid lightly streaming from the sides of his mouth. He took the potion! And he underlined "fatal." No... it can't be! But there was no reasoning he could offer himself to dodge the inescapable conclusion.

Goblet had tried to commit suicide.

It could all be explained now. The psychological side effect the paper mentioned was the cause of Goblet's actions that he couldn't remember. He had counted on his own death. It seemed like he couldn't drink the potion fast enough for some reason and now he was here in this forest, confronted by his friends. But why? Why end it all instead of trying to fix his problems?

Then one final boulder was moved inside his head and he felt like his old self again. The girl in front of him was Lavender, behind her was Ginny, and they were in the Forbidden Forest near Hogwarts.

So why did he try to end it all with a drink of a potion? Goblet thought but he didn't have to think too hard. He had done such a horrible thing. His mind flashed to a house located at the end of a road on the outskirts of a small Irish town. Try not to think of it! he told himself. Nonetheless, the mere knowledge created tumbling guilt that overpowered him and he had now clearly let it show.

Goblet spontaneously switched from an alerted and ready state to a saddened one with a softened face and lowered posture. He dropped the book page on the ground and along with it, the vial with the green potion which shattered leaving nothing but broken glass and green moistened leaves. Sullen, he walked over to the nearest tree and slid his back down it so he could sit on the ground. He turned his head to Ginny, "Gin, sorry about the mess," he said in a low voice. "I surrender or whatever. Or you can let me go. I don't really care. I just have some business to attend to later."

Goblet turned his head to Lavender. Not knowing what to say to her, he said the one thing she would want to hear to confirm his memory recovery. "Hi Lavender."

"Merda."

Ginny mumbled the Italian swear word she had forbidden her son from using and shook her head. The vial, the paper. She was no idiot. She understood what had just happened.

"Keith, you need to go to the hospital."

Ginny folded her arms, looking at Goblet and still shaking her head.
"I want to make sure it's all out of your system before you go off on your own business."

Now that he was more or less back to normal, what he did with his time didn't matter to her. All she had to do was make sure he wasn't going to act crazy again.

(Nine days waiting for Lavy to post is enough.)

"I think I am in the right mind now. I won't pull a stunt like that again. But I would like to attend to my business as soon as possible."

Goblet felt just as terrible as he remembered hours before. Not only was he depressed right now, but he had some foreign substance contaminating his body. He was at least glad that he felt like his body was putting up a fight.

Goblet pushed off the ground with his hands and snapped his now standing body straight with determination. He turned to Ginny and straightened up his posture and face. His dark mood was still there, but only covered and quietly managed.

"Ginny, may I please leave now? If not now, soon? I can assure you that I am in the right mind now. As I said, I need to take care of some business."

(sorry i just think that it wouldn't be worth it to post that i had nothing to post. i was kinda going blank)

Lavy looked at Ginny and then back at Goblet, "Goblet I really think that you should be checked out. Stuff like that doesn't just run though you. It leaves it's mark."

Lavy started walking forward until she was within arms length of him, "Please come back with us to the school so someone can take a look at you. I don't want you coming back with nasty side effects."

"Not the school. The hospital. It'll take about five minutes, and then you can go do as you want."

Ginny ran a hand through her hair, looking ten times more tired than she had before. These kids were driving her insane, and she wasn't even their mother. This kind of stress and quickness wasn't good for her current condition.

"Lavy can take you there."

(Yeah, but the last time you logged on was January 5 according to your profile at the time. I guess I just supposed you didn't look at this thread yet.)

Goblet did not want to waste his time at the d**n hospital. "Oh Jesus, what can be done there in five minutes? Ginny and Lavender, I'll go if you really want me to but my mind feels so clear now and I don't like remaining here doing nothing when I have something to do. But I suppose you two don't really care about that."

Goblet rethought his last sentence and silently ridiculed himself for saying such a thing. They obviously and reasonably were putting his safety first.

Goblet waved off his previous statement with a wave of his hand and a slight squint of his eyes. "Sorry. I mean I just really want to go take care of some business while I still feel right, and I know you guys care above all else my well being, but...." Goblet looked from Ginny to Lavy. Both concerned looks were unmoved and there was going to be no convincing on his part.

"Fine, whatever. Let's just try to keep it short," said Goblet curtly.

Ginny narrowed her eyes, her face instantly changing, "You're right. I don't care about you, I only care about the other students you could harm."

She shook her head, turning and walking away, "Just go get checked out. Lavy, make sure he does as he's told there. Send the doctors report to me."

She was technically on maternity leave at the moment, but that didn't stop Ginny from doing at least part of her job.

Lavy nodded towards Ginny, knowing how she felt. She had been in more then one situation when someone was causing problems and the only reason she took care of them was because they were harming someone else. This wasn't one of those situations. She was intrested in what Goblet felt couldn't wait but left it alone. For now.

She held out her hand for him to take, "Ready?"

"Yeah, I'm ready," Goblet responded. Even for a familiar face, Goblet was glad to get away from Ginny. He dismissed at what he took as insult when Ginny said openly that she just didn't care about him. Her bluntness didn't speak meaningless words derived from anger but rather her personal truth. Or she could not mean it and hide her anger....

Eh, screw it. She's pregnant, Goblet thought. And it is not going to matter.

Goblet saw Lavy's hand. He contemplated taking it, and after identifying his private factors, he had favored to take it, and he did. And thus he began walking with her back to the school.

"We really ought to talk, because of the good times you know?"

(I hope it's night time in the RP but if not I'm sorry. I'm far too lazy to figure it out)

She nodded, "It seems almost a life time ago when we're together. Oh, I can remember all the sorts of trouble we would get each other into," She said with a small laugh, "And we somehow always managed to get out of it."

She walked up the first few steps and stopped. She turned back to him. The sky was clear now and it was easy to see him in the white moon light. He looked pale, not quit sickly but close. It scared her a little. Last time she had seen him he looked like himself. Strong, cool, collected and maybe just a little bit too self-confident.

He didn't look like that anymore. He looked more beaten down and drained, "What happened to you?" she whispered, more to herself then to him, although she knew he could hear it.  All the humor was gone from her voice.
