Standing alone by the window in the Gryffindor Tower, Sky stared out into the dark moonlit mass of purple and black. The sky smelled like rain and the tree's blew as the wind picked up. She put her face as close to the window as possible, illuminated by moonlight, the window cold with the air outside. She wore her pajamas, red fleece bottoms with black stripes, and a black t-shirt.
She couldn't sleep tonight. She had so many of these nights that she was used to it by now. But when she couldn't sleep, she had to get out of the dormitories. She had to do something to calm her body. She sighed as the rain started to hit the ground outside.
Tap Tap Tap it went against the window, drops forming on the glass. She could hear ghosts talking as they strolled through the castle but they would never tell on her.
Leah sat on the roof of the building, letting the rain wash over her. Rain was one of her favorite things. Being a vampire, she couldn't get cold, and when it rained there almost always was a thick layer of clouds to cover the sun. Night was another one of her favorite things, and when they combined, she always tried to make the most of it.
As she sat, she watched the light coming from the windows. The light fell on the grass, far below, almost creating a mirror. She saw a shadow move into one of these beams of light and stay there. When it didn't move for a while, she decided to see what was going on. Leah hopped from the roof, down to the window. She hung upside down, and lowered herself so that she was staring the person right in the face.
"Sky?" Leah said, confused.
"Woah!" Sky exclaimed, jumping back. When she looked at the window, there was Leah staring at her.
"Oh my gosh. You just about gave me a heart attack!" Sky said, putting a hand to her chest. She exhaled deeply then smiled. "What are you doing here?" She asked. She hadn't seen Leah in awhile, so it was a bit of a surprise to see her in the middle of the night.
Even though a thick pane of glass separated them, Leah could hear Sky perfectly. She giggled, scaring people was so much fun!
"Sorry about that... I couldn't help myself!" Leah said, smiling. "What am I doing here? I would like to ask you the same thing!"
Sky looked around to make sure nobody has heard her freak out and then opened the window. A gust of cold air blew against her, but she didn't care.
"I couldn't sleep." Sky said. "Been like that a lot lately."
Nate leaned against the stone cold wall that was near the window."Hey you two," a warm smile appearing over his face as he ended up moving closer to the girls.
This time Leah was startled. She almost let go of her tight grip on the building, but at the last minute she held on.
"Nate? Is that you?" Leah asked, coming into the room.
Nate smiled,"Hmm maybe whose asking?"
"Who do you think!?" Leah said as she climbed in the window. She was soaked, dripping all over the carpet. Her clothes clung to her body, but she loved the rain.
Nate smiled" Oh hi Leah, i couldnt tell that it was you." He teased
Leah said, "Well, in your defense it is really dark out!" She paused and looked out the window into the pouring rain. "Gosh don't you guys love the rain?" She asked.
Nate layed his hand outside of the window moving his hand back and forth through the freezing water. He smiled,"Yeah i sure do."
((Forgot about this..))
"Mhm." Sky said, turning so her back was against the window. She ran her hand through her long black hair, shaking it a little, her gray eyes studying a picture on the wall.
"Sometimes I wish it would always be raining... but then I realize that then mostly only vampires would ever be happy." Leah sighed, thinking of her sister while looking out of the window.
Nate smiled,"Theres ways where vampiers can go around in the sun too."
Leah nodded. She knew that was true, but it just wasn't as fun. "But that's like choosing something that works instead of something that's perfect!"
Nate smiled,"Hmm i guess so..."
"Yeah... but I guess, as the saying goes, life isn't perfect." Leah said, looking out at the pouring rain.
"True that," he replied with a wide grin.
Leah grinned back at him, his smile making everything in the room a little brighter. "Well, it is raining... do you guys want to head outside?"
Nate stood and smiled," After you my lady." Waving his arm like a gentle man.
Leah smiled at him, but instead of going towards the door, she turned and jumped out of the open window. She landed lightly on the ground several stories below, unharmed. She smiled up at them, gesturing for them to follow.
Nate smiled," I meant the door." He yelled after her. And he climbed out of the window following after her and landing on the grass with a light thump.
Leah laughed and was about to yell back, when Nate jumped after her. She flopped down on the wet ground, instantly soaked as the rain poured down on her. She closed her eyes, loving the feel of the rain on her face. She wasn't sure what Nate was doing, but she trusted him.
Nate smiled as he looked at Leah enjoying the rain. His hair instantly turning from dry perfect strands to wet hair plastered to his face. "Im guessing you like the rain," he stated
Leah opened one eye slightly and looked at him. She smiled and said, "How did you guess?" She laughed, closing her eye again.
Nate walked a little bit closer to her. "I dont know." He tapped his soaked head,"Im a smart thinker."
Leah smiled up at him, her eyes still closed. She said, "Most thinkers are smart..."
"Yeah well im a special smart thinker." He replied still lookn at her expectantly.
Leah opened her eyes to peer at him curiously as she said, "Yeah... you sure are special!" She smiled up at him, giggling slightly.
"Oh you have no idea how special i am," he smiled.
"You don't think so? Well, then please enlighten me!" Leah said, sitting up. She patted the ground next to her, inviting Nate to sit down. If he was going to go over just how special he was, then this might take a while.
Nate crossed his arms stubbornly,"Not until you say that im special."
"Make me!" Leah said, just as stubbornly. She crossed her arms, turning her face away from Nate.
"fine!" He replied. "I wont ever kiss you again," he replied stubbornly, he smiled.
Leah frowned. She couldn't see a way around this one. She said, "Then that's your loss!"
Nate shuffled his feet uncertainly. This time his voice not so stubborn,"Fine since thats what you want."
Leah jumped to her feet, tackling Nate with her momentum. She smiled at him and said, "You aren't special. You're unbelievable in everyway!"
Then she kissed him, tasting the rain on his lips.
Nate stumbled in surprise and almost tripping over onto the ground. He held her gently,"Your more unbelievable." A sweet smile spread across his lips.
Leah smiled, letting Nate hold her. She loved feeling his strong arms around her. It the world feel safe again.
"Really? Well I think I can argue that point quite well!" She smiled back at him, unable to hold it back.
"But you wont win," he replied. He smiled back at her, still holding her as if she was a feather.
"Hmm..." Leah said, thinking. She frowned, and her brows furrowed in thought. She smiled as an idea hit her. "We could tie!"
Nate laughed,"Tied is good." He liked holding her close to him, her warmth against his body.
"Tied is good." Leah repeated, pressing her face into his chest. She held herself close to him, closing her eyes. It was as if they were the only two people in the entire world.
nate playd with a piece of her hair, twirling it around his fingrs. "Ur beautiful." He whispered softly against her ear
Leah took a deep breath, taking in his scent. It was a scent she didn't think she could ever forget.
She smiled and said, "I don't know what I ever did without you."
He chuckled, his eyes shining down at her,"Oh i think you did fine." He loved this, just being by her and talking to her like they were friends since they were born
Leah looked up at him and smiled. She laughed too, watching his beautiful eyes sparkle. She rose up on her tiptoes to kiss him, and held herself close to him.
Nate smiled and kissed her gently.
Leah broke away and chuckled, taking his hand. She began to walk into the forest, looking back at him occasionally. Once they reached the edge of the forest, she let go of his hand. Before she ran off, she looked back at Nate, smiling. Then she laughed and ran off, hoping that he would follow.
