She stood with her face against the cool hard glass of the tea shoppe. Her hand just above it, feeling the cold with her warm hands. Her fingers tingled with the icy touch. The rain outside was loud and fast, rapidly hitting the walk and any person outside. She watched as little drops struck the glass with a loud tap. It looked as if each drop would come and hit her in the face. But no. It would stop when it hit the window and then slide down.
She smiled to herself. She thought about the change in weather. How the transition from Winter to Spring reminded her of her old self. So cold and bitter..now warmer and more gentle. She was so much more patient these days. She felt like...she was someone now. Like she knew who she was.
A tear slid down her cheek. A tear that let the rest of her remaining pain and heartache slip away like the rain on the window pane. She was happy. Truely happy. Sky wiped her eyes and pushed herself forward, so she was sitting up, and then bent to sip her steaming cup of tea.
((So yeah..dramatic. But I was bored and just woke up. I feel asleep during The Dark Knight lol. ))
((Can I join?))
((OPEN :P))
(( ;D))
Stacey glared out the window of a random shop. She stared out at the rain, waiting for it to stop. She took a deep breath and tightened her hold of the large book she was holding to her chest. Moments later she botled from the door and into another shop, where she sould get something to drink. She ordered a warm brink of mint tea and pulled a bronze coin from her pocket. She person behind the counter smiled and handed her the hot drink. She picked it up, the heat not bothering her, and turned around.
The shop didn`t have many people in it at the moment, but there was one person she recognized.
The tea was nice. It could do many more wonders than a flask of alcohol ever would. She took one more sip before setting the chipped china down without a sound. Her fingers drummed lightly on the table as she sat in thought. That last tear. That was her past. Her luggage she had dragged with her to this school. It was gone. Gone just like that. And...it was strange. How something like that could happen so..so randomly!
She closed her eyes, smiling yet again to herself. It really was something of a miracle. She remembered how she told herself that she was happy. That..she was alright. Her pain was gone. But it never had left. But today was so different. She felt different. Which, for some reason, somehow led her here. To a tea shoppe. Her emotions brought her to a tea shoppe to cry. She felt so silly. As she went to take another sip of her calming elixir, she couldn't help but let her dazzling gray eyes wonder the premises. Such an empty shop. It was nice though. Nobody to see a silly girl. But then she seen Stacey.
Stacey tilted her head and smiled as Sky looked her way. She shifted the heavy book to ehr other arm and held the tea carfully. She stepped around the tables until she made it to Sky. "Hello, mid if I sit with you?" She asked politely. She hadn`t recognized anyone else in the small area, and sitting with someone she knew was a lot better than sitting by herself.
As she examined Sky, her eyes softened and lightened a few shades to form a bright grey. She didn`t take to much thought into the tear against her cheek.
((I wiped that tear missy! XD))
Sky felt a little embarrassed. She had hoped that Stacey had just walked in and had not seen her with her face pushed into the window crying. But she nodded with a grin.
"Sure, sure. Take a seat." She said, motioning with her hand to sit. She noticed the rather large book in her arms.
"What are you reading?" She asked her curiously.
((Ooppsi!))
Stacey gave a small grin and seated herself across from Sky, setting the book down first, then the tea. "If you count one-hundred and seventeen different fonts for wedding invatations as reading, I guess you could say I`m reading writing that says John and Jane Doe." She replied with a small smirk.
She had been finishing up some of the more detailed works for the wedding that was only about three months away now. It made Stacey a little breathless to think about how close it was, but she didn`t care what other people said about how young she was.
(Can I join? or do you just want no newbies. It will be okay if you want no newbies. I will just work on my new fanfic.)
Sky stared at the book for a short moment and then looked up at Stacey, brushing a piece of black hair out of her eyes. "Wow..you must be so excited!" She said. It was odd to imagine someone her age getting married-but they were an adult and were free to do as they pleased.
Sky opened the book to a random page and pointed to a pretty cursive font. "How about that one?" She asked.
((Open for anyone.))
Stacey shrugged. "I don`t really know which one I`ll pick, yet. My dad just dropped it off for my mom since she won`t come anywhere near here." She rolled her eyes. Her mother was a Muggle, and somethimes she just decided that she wanted to have as little to do with magic as possible.
She took a quick sip of the hot tea and her eyes flashed mint green for a moment in response.
"Ah. I see." Sky said, understand what Stacey was getting at. She looked back out the window.
"So what does love feel like?" She asked. She had so many weird questions, but she couldn't help it.
Stacey took her deep breath and her eyes wandered back to the book. "Well," She started, "It`s something you can`t explain. I feels like... everything you like all put together. But it`s unexpected and strange, yet it makes you happy. It`s the best thing in the world." She answered. "I hope that enswers your question; someday you`ll know for yourself exactly what I mean." She added with a grin.
Sky laid her elbow down on the table, resting her head in her palm.
"Eh..maybe. Who knows. Maybe I'll be some lonely old lady with 23 cats with cat litter trailed around my house." Sky joked with a smile.
"Well anyway. I'm happy for you guys and wish you all the happiness you could get."
Isabelle rose up from the couch in her dorm room, and blinked her eyes abit, looking outside she noticed that it was raining, finally winter was over and here comes spring and after that would be her favorite time of year Summer, smiling it was one of the first smiles ever since the break up, and she got changed into blue sweatpants and a red t-shirt with a gray raincoat, and ran down the stairs with money jangling in her pockets, and she kept running till she reached a shop in Hogmeade out of breathe impressed with herself for running this long way. Looking into shop windows and noticed two girls she knew well Stacey and Sky. She jogged into the shop and shaked herself dry like a dog, and then went to the table where the girls were and said "Hello Stacey, Sky. How are you this fine morning?" she was still surprised of herself being cheerful more often after that mad day of Valentine's. She shivered and asked "May I sit with you guys?"
((OMG! I just about died when I saw your duck thing as your signature!))
Stacey smiled. "You don`t seem like a person who would put up with cats." She offered softly. "And thank you. Every one at Hogwarts will be invited, so you`re welcome to come if you want." She invited Sky in almost a timid tone, and she wasn`t sure why.
Sky chuckled. She did like wolves better.
"Oh. Um..thanks." She said when she was invited. She figured it'd just be some of her close friends and their family. Oh crap.. She'd have to wear a dress. Oh it's been months since she last worn a dress. She laughed a little inside. Sky waved to Isabelle. "Sure. Go ahead."
Stacey giggled and waved to Isabelle. "Hey, you don`t have to wear a dress if you don`t want to." She said. "Dress pants are fine, or whatever." Her eyes flickered green again as she picked up her china cup and took a sip of her tea.
((Good morning and goodnight people.))
Isabelle smiled and sat next to Sky, and said "I heard that your wedding is coming up. Must be lucky, one advice don't argue alot or else your love will fall out eventually like Bucky and I but I survived. If I can come I would wear a dress, a very pretty one. I know abunch of dress shops! Want me to find you a wedding dress for you Stacey? I know some cheap stores that sell dresses in more expensive stores but cheaper. Well I'm gonna cross my fingers that it rocks." smiling happily, for the second time in a month.
(nite! I might be goin to bed soon.)
Stacey laughed softly. "Sorry, but practically everything is done and ordered. I`ve already had my dress for a year and a half now." She explained slowly.
Sky could hear them chattering about the wedding, but didn't really tune in. She stared into the wooden table, looking at the patterns and imprints in it. She traced them with her finger tips as a new question formed into her head. What is love?
Sure it was a feeling between two people, but is it really? It was something she pondered every so often, but in the midst of all this wedding talk, the joining of two people, she had pondered it more and more. She shook her head to break the trance and finished her tea in two large sips.
"It's a lovely morning." She said quietly. "I love the morning rain."
Stacey hummed and nodded in reply to Sky. "Yes, it is. It`s my second favorite type of day. I prefer a clear, warm night myself." She tilted her head. She heard Sky`s thoughts perfectly, but it seemed a rather personal thought, so she pretended not to notice.
"You know, you should meet Jason." She said softly. Sure he used to be a Death Eater, and that had its problems, but he was a nice enough guy. Stacey hadn`t seen Sky with anyone for a long time.
((So I just realized that I meant to post this in Hogsmead. Not here O_O ))
Sky sighed. "I guess we'd have something in common then..." She said to herself. "I dunno." She didn't know what to say. Stacey must have heard her thoughts.
(( >.< That`s okay.))
Stacey nodded. She took a slow sip of her mint tea. "To better answer your first question, love makes you feel complete. When I`m not with Aiden, even now, I feel a little hollow. When I am with him, I feel full. I feel content." She said softly and slowly.
Sky turned a little red, embarrassed to have her question answered for some reason. "I see." She said. She drummed her fingers on the table again, lost in more thought.
"I hope you find a boy to love before life ends." says Isabelle.
(short of words now.)
"Well I certainly hope so too." Sky said. "I'm only seventeen!"
"You know, I'm wondering why we are talking about love just after someone at this table has just had a break up?" says Isabelle thinking and all you could hear in her head was buzzing and then complete silence when she said *someone at this table has just had a break up* and then afterwards it would start buzzing again. Then Isabelle started thinking about fashion and what she would wear to the wedding, and started counting off dressing off her head while marking them down with her fingers and she did all that in silence.
"Easy," Stacey replied, "Because someone at this table is getting married in three months." She said, the shuddered delicately. She had been having nightmares about the wedding, an her mother hadn`t been helping.
"Are you sure you don't need help with the wedding?" asks Isabelle.
Stacey nodded. "Yea, we have everything done except this." She said jerking her chin towards the thick book of fonts.
"Let me have a look at that, okay one question I have to ask you. What theme will your wedding be? Royal, romantic that stuff." asks Isabelle looking at the fonts.
Stacey smiled and her eyes became distant as she put all of the details together in her head. "Classic, I think. The colors are red, ivory, and black, so it has a well-used feel, but at the same time it`s romantic and new. We`ll be using carnations as the flowers, red ones. My dress is kind of old-fashioned, but it`s really beautiful." Her eyes drifted closed as she could see the whole picture in her mind.
"Isabelle..you need to get over this break up thing. You're only what...thirteen?" Sky guessed. Sky had been through break ups. They hurt at first but eventually, the pain numbs and gradually disappears. "Just...take it slow. Don't think about it."
Stacey nodded in agreement with Sky, snapping out of her trance. "Yea, Isabelle. When I was thirteen, I thought I was going to marry Niles. But look what he did; he left me for four years to go fight someone who`s already dead." Her tone turned icy and she quickly edited through the part where he came back and wondered why Stacey was with someone else, and the part where he almost killed Aiden and she threatened to kill him if he did.
Sky stood up from the table and pushed her seat in.
"Why do we waste so much time on love?" Another question she had pondered. She didn't give the two any time to answer though. She had already exited out the door, pulling the hood of her jacket over her head. As she walked past the window, she gave them a smile and waved. Sky needed to get out of the shoppe. She couldn't be in one place for so long.
Stacey stood up and almost ran after Sky, btu she stood where she was and thought. Would she want someone to follow her? Stacey soon decided that she would follow Sky, and if she didn`t want to be around her, she would leave.
She relectantly burst from the shoppe and bounded in the direction Sky had gone.
"Wait," She called. "Love makes you blind. You can`t see that it will hurt you, you can only see if it`s right for you. Sky... people each have their fair share of good and bad in their lives, depending on their choices, things can get better or worse. I`ve had my share unhappiness, believe me. Now it`s my chance to have happiness. This is your time, too." She said.
Sky turned at the sound of Stacey's voice, shocked that the girl would bolt out of the shoppe in the pouring rain just to answer a silly question.
"Stacey..." Sky started, listening to her words. "I don't think you understand. I'm not concerned about finding love right now. But I'm just...curious. I see these people all happy or distraught over love. I just wonder...is that really what life is about? Chasing love?" She shrugged and looked up at the clouds.
Okay..so maybe Sky had lied a little. She did want somebody to love. It wasn't her hearts greatest desire, but it was something that she had hoped for. "Thanks for coming out to answer my question though." She said and then smirked. "But no offense... you're an idiot."
Stacey listened to Sky`s words carfully and just smiled and shrugged when she got insulted. "Aren`t we all? Life isn`t about love, it`s about finding your place in the world, at least that`s what I think. And sometimes your place belongs with someone else." She aswered freely, pushing her now wet hair out of her eyes, she could dry it later, it wasn`t that big of a deal.
"We waste time on love because it makes us feel safe and happy; everything else just gets put on hold." She tilted her head to the side and her eyes softened. "I know that I`m an idiot, but what can I do about it?" She shrugged again.
Sky laughed.
"I'm sorry. I think you misunderstood me again. I meant that your an idiot for following me out here in the freezing rain. You could catch a cold!"
She smiled and put her hands in her pockets. "But again, thank you. You helped to answer a lot for me today."
Stacey shrugged a third time. "I`ll be fine. I can warm myself up." She said, flicking her fingers and producing a small flame that wasn`t effected at all by the weather. Then a large grin spread acsoss her features. "And if you need help with anything, just come by and ask me, I`m glad to help." She said over the rain.
Isabelle was looking through the book when Sky had gotten up and left and then noticed Stacey left too, and Isabelle looked out of the window and watched them talk. Summoning a umbrella Isabelle grabbed the book and left money and with that followed the others out of the shop. "Did you guys forget all about me? To answer you question Sky, love is difficult and interesting to talk about even if its hurtful for someone who has just got dumped to talk about, but you feel lighter and better when you talk about it." she said. Thinking about what Stacey said in the shop and how they were alike in love, and agreed with herself on the inside that she wouldn't give up on finding love.
"Thanks guys." Sky said while smiling.
"So...I think I've picked out the perfect present for you." Sky said mischievously.
Stacey rolled her eyes. "Please, no!" She said with mock horror. She then turned to Isabelle. "So, have you found my perfect font?" She asked, motioning to the heavy book.
Sky made sure to block her mind of the male stripper that she would send to Stacey's dorm so Stacey wouldn't predict it.
"This is hard, I think I look in the chapter of the themes you want it to be. Aha, this looks nice, Script MT Bold." says Isabelle looking in the book and showed it to Stacey. We would like you to come to the wedding of Aiden Gray and Stacey Black.
Stacey felt the sudden mind block, and turned her head towards Sky again. "It`s that bad, isn`t it." She moaned. "I know who`s not planning the bachelorette party." She teased, rolling her eyes for effect. She nodded in respone to Isabelle. "Sure, that looks nice." She comented. She didn`t really think the font was really that important, but other people did.
Sky grinned and rubbed her hands together while imitating an evil laugh.
The rain had finally ceased and the sun had slowly crept out from behind the clouds.
Stacey looked to the sky when she no longer felt the rain dripping. "Thank you!" She shouted to the sky. "And you," She said, pointing to Sky, "Need to stop that; you`re freaking me out." She pretended to be scared.
"Maybe I should organize it. Sky, evil isn't your look." says Isabelle smiling smugly and was definitely delighted about being able to help with the wedding and then had bad thought come across her mind, *Maybe I won't be able to have my own wedding and this will be maybe the only way I get to go to weddings.*
Stacey smiled. "Thanks, but Leah`s probably got everything done already. She`s a bridesmaid, and is a little too excited." She waved her hand as if that happened all of the time, which it did.
"Okay, don't worry. I sure it will turn out fine." says Isabelle smiling.
Sky grinned.
"But mischievous works just as well, you think?" She said, referring to the "Evil is just not your look" thing.
"Sure." says Isabelle off into her own thoughts.
Stacey groaned. "You know, I was thinking about asking you do something, Sky, but I don`t think I am now." She said, crossing her arms while trying to hide a smile.
"ooooo, you ruined your chance." says Isabelle with a creepy voice and laughed.
