Axel was sitting in the Great Hall eating dinner with the other Gryffindors. He kept to himself as they talked amongst themselves about brooms, girls, and the size of their biceps. Normally, he'd jump right in to brag about things, but being at a new school totally ruined the urge to do so. He had just transferred in today from a smaller school a few hundred miles away. He got kicked out of his other school for "Misusing his elemental abilities."
Yeah..right..
It wasn't his fault some kid wanted to start something. And to make things worse, he had to go to school with his cousin, Seth Lockhart. Seth and Axel didn't get along so well. He took a quick bite of his beef stew, chewing violently as the thought settled into his mind. Swallowing quickly, he took a sip of tea from his Goblet and set it down hard on the table. He got out of his seat and walked through the halls, still unaware of what was what in the school.
Alexis quickly walked into a hall, and turned a swift corner to get something to eat. She had just came from her potions class so she had all of her books in her hands. Right ran she turned the corner Alexis ran right into a boy. She fell to the ground, and so did all of her books.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" Alexis apologized quickly as she got on her knees to pick up her books. She didn't even look up yet to see who it was. "Are you okay?"
The next thing Axel knew, he was standing infront of a girl he didn't know who was on the ground. He immediately crouched down and helped pick up her books.
"Yeah. Are you?" He asked as he stacked them up on his knee.
Alexis finished gathering all of her books, and stood up. "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm really sorry." She apologized again. Her cheeks flashed a bright red. Alexis looked at the boy, and realized she hadn't met him before. He looked about her age, give or take a few years. "Are you new?" She asked him.
He still had a few of her books in his hands. "Um..do you want some help with these?" He offered, looking at the girl. She looked so embarrassed. He smiled. "Don't worry 'bout it. Just an accident. I should watch where I'm going next time." He adjusted the gray fedora hat on his head so it was over his eyes. "Yeah...Just got here this morning." He held out his free hand. "Axel Hampton."
Alexis smiled. "Sure. Thanks." She said as she took her books, and layed them on the other books. Alexis took her hand, and shook it softly. "I'm Alexis Cleveland." She introduced, "Who all have you met so far?"
"To be honest," He started, a little embarrassed. "You're the only one so far. I haven't even seen my cousin yet." Axel stuffed his hand into his jeans pocket. "I haven't exactly been Mr.Social today. Moving here was a real downer."
Alexis looked down at the ground at her books for a few moments before looking at him. "That must suck." She said with a frown. Alexis she picked up her last book, and set it down on her arm. "Who is your cousin?" She asked suddenly.
"Seth Lockhart." He said rolling his eyes. Axel really couldn't stand his younger cousin at all. Seth and him shared a lot of...negative energy so to speak. "You've probably seen him. The white wolf guy."
Stacey slowly sauntered through the halls, an annoyed look on her face. Her full lips were pursed in a pout. Only the couple people who knew her the best would know what was really wrong, others would just think she was just mad at someone.
She slowly turned a corner, tugging at the corner of her uniform. As she turned another corner, she practically ran into the pair. "Oh, hi." She said, her eyes lightening slightly to a more cheerful grey.
Axel turned as the other girl ventured their way. He nodded to her. "Hello." He said in a friendly tone. "I leave the Great Hall and suddenly the girls just pop up." Axel said with a light laugh. He noticed the girl wasn't in a good mood, but didn't say anything. Though his bright sky blue eyes showed his curiousity.
Stacey smiled and played witht he gold ring on her finger. The ring had felt heavier and heavier since the date was looming ever closer. "Hello," She repeated, "Stacey Black. I`m betting you`re Seth cousin?" She asked, her eyes sparking green with interest.
Axel put his hand over his eyes and groaned. "What gave it away?" He asked. "We don't look that much alike...do we?" He groaned again and put his hands in his pockets after pulling his hat further over his eyes.
Stacey`s smile widened. "Nah, you don`t look a thing alike. Some things are just easier to read than others." Like Alexis`s thoughts, for example. "Seth and I know each other." She explained simply. She lowered her head to see in his eyes. "Hiding doesn`t change that."
Axel took a slight step backward and then tripped. He sat on his bottom, his hat on the ground beside him. His shaggy reddish brown hair seemed all messy now. He laughed.
"I guess that's true." He said as he grabbed his hat.
Stacey flashed a grin, her white teeth showing, and stretched out a hand to help him up. "Axel, right?" She asked, not having gotten his name yet.
He just looked at the girl. "How do you know that? Are you another one of those mind readers I've seen around here?" He had seen guys in the common room making fun of him for liking the scenary outside. Only he hadn't mentioned it. Only thought about it.

Alexis nodded. "Yeah. Have a few times. I've never really talked to him though." She told him. Alexis waved at Stacey as she came up to them.
Axel stood up and dusted off his pants before replacing his hat back over his head.
"I hear he's dating some Alice chick." He said. "That's all I really know."
Down the corridor came a with purplish kind of hair and said in a huff and a puff like she had ran a mile. ''Hi, um, have you got the timetable for Hufflepuff? Hi you knew kid I'm Dillun in year 3 and I lost the timetable''. ''And I don't know what's the next class, please help me!!!''she said a little slowly but still too fast.
Stacey laughed as Axel asked if she read minds. "You could say I`m something like that." She pursed her lips as he mentioned Alice. "Yea, Alice Brokehart." She replied, handing a sheet of paper to the new arrival. "I know your name because I pay attention. You don`t have to worry about me saying anything to anyone." She said with a quick wink.
''Oh,thank you thank you so much!!!!!!'', said Dilun running back to where she started mumerring to herself ''divination at 9.00, transfiguration at 10.00 and then the last thing is defense against the dark arts at 1. 00-2.00 then lunch at the hall and 4.00-5.00 is potions!!! GREAT I GOT THE TIMETABLE!!!!!!!!''.
"Saying anything to anyone?" Axel repeated in question.
Stacey nodded. "About yo being related to Seth." She replied quickly. "So, what powers do you have?" She asked, changing the subject.
Axel shrugged.
"I can control fire and, like Lockhart, am a wolf animagus." He said Lockhart as if it was the most disgusting thing to exist.
"And yourself?" He asked. "Anything other than this mind reading thing you've got going on?"
Stacey smiled a large grin. "Fire. Snow leopard animagus. And I can`t exactly read minds. I absorb the powers around me. I can choose to use them, or block them out. The closer I am to that power, or the more often I`m around it, the better I can use it. As far as I know, I`m the only person ever able to do that." She didn`t feel the need to tell him that she often passed out and heard voices because of her powers.
"That's impressive." Axel said, adjusting his hat.
"Sometimes though...when I'm angry..I have to wear firebands." Firebands were a bracelet like thing that wrapped around both wrists of the wearer to prevent the person from using the fire power. Axel got angry a lot, so the teachers at his old school forced him to wear them at school until he broke them off with something. Took a lot to get those off too. Everytime he'd mutter a spell to get them off, the bands would hurt him. A nasty way to discipline the person.
Stacey nodded thoughtfully. She looked at fire a lot different than most people did. Most people saw fire as death and destruction; evily things, but Stacey saw it as life and celebrations. She could bend the fire so that even though it touched something, it didn`t burn it. It was an amzing feat she had conquered, but it was well worth it.
Axel saw fire as the heart's true form. Fire could speak for the heart. It could represent love..happiness..hate..desire..hurt.... So many things.
He held out his hand as a bright orange and red ball of flames formed in his hand. His eyes were focused on it, reflecting the light of the fire.
(not to be rude but could you give me a summary, i get confused sometimes when i read it and get mixed up, though i want to join.)
((Axel is new to Hogwarts. He's mad because he has to come here and stuff, and now we are just chatting. Yaaaay. Just jump in with whatever. We need more conversation material. XP ))
Molly walked up and saw axel in a really bad mood. Then she saw some other guy. SHe walked up to axel "Why so glum chum?" she was using her typical charm, but when she saw his face she had a feeling it wasn't the right time. For safe measure she took two steps back.
The flame had disappeared in a puff of smoke. He looked at Molly and smiled a little to let her know it was alright. He was better now that he had met some new people.
"Don't be afraid." He said.
"NOt affraid, concerneced." She steped back closer to Axel and smiled. "Belive me their is a diifference, affraid is being scared, or whatnot. Concerned however is a different thing. Concerned is worry but not nesscarily scared." she paused "And anway." she lit a fire ball like is in her hand "I can do that too.".... She released the ball into a puff of smoke and then said "so wahts buggin ya"
"Just having to be here." He said.
"Yeah its tough at first, speacialy with kids with families." she didn't want to go into detail knowing Axel's past and hers" but you get used to it, eventully you make friends, like me, who help you through it and make it a lot easier" she put her hand on his shoulder "trust me, my first year or so wasn't too easy"
