The black wolf sat alone at the top of a cliff, a little distance away from the forest and the school. His fur was jet black, the fur smooth and shiny as the moon reflected on it on this dark night. His wide sky blue eyes stared at the stars. Finally, he thought about how late it was and how he should be in bed right now.
The moon had attracted Axel to come to the cliffs. It had looked so beautiful with the stars placed perfectly around it. He changed into his wolf animagus and ran outside, the cool brisk air of the spring night filling his lungs with every breath.
He heard a noise. Footsteps. Somebody was there. Watching him. His fur stood up as he listened. You had to be on your guard being this far away from the school.
((You can only play your own character!! We can just ignore that post I think...))
(Before the black wolf came)
Leah sat alone on top of the cliff looking at the stars. She could see the school, small and in the distance, and the forest stretched alongside.
She had just found this spot, and was enjoying it, when she heard a noise. She looked around. Sniffed the air. Someone was coming. There wasn't time to stand and find cover, so she rolled into the bushes nearby.
Leah now crouched in the bushes, afraid to move, for fear of being discovered. Then she became fascinated with the wolf, perched upon the spot where she had once sat. When the wolf finally moved, Leah decided she should go too. She snck her way into the trees, and looked back. The wolf was still sitting.
Snap! Leah looked around startled. She didn't see anyone. Then she looked down and realized that it had been her own foot that caused the noise. Her own foot had broken her perfect cover.
The wolf turned suddenly, his eyes on the bushes. He smelled the air and took a small graceful step, making not a sound. He sniffed again and took more cautioning steps toward to bush until the girl was clearly in view. Though it was dark, he could see her rather well. Axel had never met her. He only knew a handful of people at this school. He stared at her for a moment, just staring. Then he turned abruptly and went back to the sit on the cliff again with a swish of his jet black tail.
He focused on the moon again. It was so big tonight. So..bright. So..beautiful. He was in awe with it's beauty. He didn't know why. Perhaps it was his natural attraction to nature that brought him here, but he felt peaceful...relaxed. He fell down on his chest, his paws hanging over the edge of the cliff as he changed back into his human form. Axel was tall with a thin body and toned arms and legs. His skin was pale with the reflection from the moonlight and his long spiky red hair fell over his sky blue eyes. He sighed deeply as a sign of comfort. Not many people would find hanging over a cliff relaxing, but Axel did.
A snowy white owl looked towards the wolf that was at the hill. Then she looked downwards with her dark blue eyes, hearing a crack. Looking downwards recognizing the human below her from her human form. She turned into her human form, she was wearing a dark red long-sleeved puffy shirt, with black dresspants and she wore black velvet dress-shoes. Her hair had many leaves and twigs in it. Isabelle smiled and said quietly to Leah "What's shakin' Leah?" and with that she giggled quietly.
As Thalia looked around,She saw a hamsom black wolf.He was right there, how could he not see the snowy white wolf only feet away? She looked up to see her best friend,a snowy white owl.
"Hey,Thalia" Thalia heard a hoot"What?!" Thalia barked as she tranformed back to human form"Leah's here lookin' for Axle like you are.""I found him""Alright alright!"Thalia turned back to a wolf and said to her also anamargis friend"Keep a gaurd on her"
((Could you please stop posting, or at least try to learn how to? One of those posts would have passed minimum expectations, but really, you're starting to get on a lot of people's nerves.))
(This is before Isabelle comes...)
Leah stood as still as she could while the black wolf walked towards her. She was sure that this was just someone in their animagus form, but she couldn't be positive. As the wolf turned away, Leah followed him with her eyes. As he turned into a student she didn't recognize, she became fascinated with him.
Leah jumped when Isabelle spoke. "Jeez! I didn't see you there!" She whispered. She then motioned for Isabelle to whisper. "Who is that?"
((I'm pretty sure he's got a girlfriend, but don't tell Leah that))
((No. Seth has a girlfriend, not Axel.))
Axel listened intently to the girls by the bush. He knew that the other one had arrived, but hadn't acknowledged it. His hearing was really well with him being a wolf animagus. That kind of power came with some good benefits. He smiled to himself when he heard the girl asked who he was. He sat up suddenly, abrupt, his eyes still glued to the moon.
"It's a nice night." He said aloud.
((Score!!))
Leah jumped, visibly. She placed her hand on her racing heart. "Stay here!" She whispered to Isabelle. Leah then walked, slowly and carefully towards the figure on the cliff.
(I don't know if you're human now or not...)
Leah walked over towards the figure and sat down next to him. "It is a nice night..." She replied, looking at him.
((Huuuummmaaaan..))
Axel didn't say anything. His eyes remained glued. There was a gentle breeze that blew his hair back, his bangs in his eyes. He finally swiped his hand across his forehead and pushed the spiky red bangs away.
Isabelle nodded and watched as Leah walked towards Axle. Isabelle stayed as still as she could, and a little squirrel came out of the hole next to in the tree, and the squirrel shivered and almost fell from the tree limb, but Isabelle had caught the little squirrel, and now knew that the baby squirrel couldn't go back to it's mama, since it had human contact. Isabelle opened a small pocket in her pants and sat the small squirrel in her pocket and she jumped from the branch and crouched to a bush, watching Leah and Axle.
"I'm Leah." Leah said to the boy next to her. She turned and looked at him, waiting for a reaction. She dangled her legs off the edge of the cliff and leaned back on her hands. She had never seen him before, but she had a feeling that she would be seeing him a lot now.
"Axel." He said in return, finally pulling his gaze off of the moon and looking at her. "Axel Hampton." He yawned quietly and then smiled, his eyes shiny. "What year and house are you?" He asked her, his voice soft.
"Gryffindor." She said, meeting his eyes. "I'm a fifth year. What about you?" She asked, partially to be polite and partially out of genuine interest. She searched her mind, and decided that she had definitely not heard of an Axel Hampton before.
"Ah. I am a Gryffindor as well. Seventh year." Axel replied. He studied her for a short moment and then stood up, stretching and then put his hands in his pockets. "What brings you two here?" He asked, knowing Isabelle was watching them.
Leah nodded. She liked meeting new Gryffindors, no matter what year they were. Leah turned her eyes away from him as he studied her, and she looked at the forest beneath.
"I needed to go for a run, and I often run without paying attention to where I'm going, and so I ended up here." Leah said, shrugging. She was telling the truth, there wasn't really a point in lying.
"I like to run. Sometimes I just run and don't stop until I'm lost. It's kind of exciting to try and find your way back home. The sights you see...they are really something." Axel grinned as he remembered the picture of the mountains he had run through once.
Isabelle skipped over to the hill knowing that her cover was blown and said "I was just watching everyone, a late owl. Hi! I'm Isabelle, Isabelle Xantier. I'm a third year!"
"I love to do that!" Leah exclaimed. "The only bad thing, is that I'm a vampire, so I remember everything. So when I see something I recognize, I run the other way. " She liked Axel. It seemed as though they had a lot in common.
"My cousin is dating a vampire." Axel said, holding back the hate he had for Seth. "Seth Lockhart. He's been here longer than me." Axel found Leah to be kind of interesting for just meeting her, but he would have to see. The last girl he said was cute treated him like dirt. He remembered Keke's face.
Well Thalia walked away trying not to KILL Leah
(I'm refering to me killing you dobby, you might as well be nice to a newcomer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Isabelle watched as Thalia walked away.
(Well! Will you shut up! You've ruined many RPs, and we don't appreciate that. You have to ask to join. Read Kiara's stories, I will PM you the links, so you can find out the timeline!)
((Please don't speak for me Isabelle. I can handle it. Thalia, just be aware that, until you respond to my message or try to fix things here, nobody is going to respond to you. We don't want you to leave, but we don't want you here if you're not going to play the game by the rules. Sorry. So if you want us to RP with you, show us you can do it the right way.))
((Well neither of you needed to speak for me, but thanks anyways.))
"That's cool..." Leah said, trying to remember who Seth was dating. "How long have you been here?" She asked, curious. She tried really hard not to read Axel's mind, and she was partially successful.
(If you want to fit in here, threatening to kill someone won't really help)
((Haha. Sorry. I didn't realize I put "We". It was really early this morning when I posted so I probably forgot that factor. Please read all "we's" I posted as "I". XD))
"A few weeks." He replied. "I transferred in from my old school. It is quite a difference. My school didn't have such pretty features as this one does.."
((It's OK, I really don't care!!))
"Oh wow! I was expecting like a year or something! Well, welcome to Hogwarts!" Leah said, smiling. "I can help you out if you need anything!"
"I can help!" said Isabelle giggling, "Really I know some cool places, and there's a place in the forest that I called my place."
Thalia cried. She felt no one liked her.
"Well thank you for your hospitality." He said. "Perhaps you could accompany me to the rooftops then? I'd like to sit up there for awhile and I'd appreciate the company." Axel flashed her a pearly white smile and looked at Isabelle. "How can you call the forest 'Your place'? He asked curiously. "It is the earths' place."
He heard Thalia cry and turned towards here, pulling his hands up to his mouth and breathing into them. He then opened them where a bright red horse made out of fire was formed. He blew on it and it trotted mid air to Thalia. He smiled to her. "Don't cry."
"I meant that there is a place inside the forest that I discovered, and it's very beautiful. Only a few people have been there other then me!" said Isabelle smiling sweetly, she was happy that Leah had found someone.
"Oh sure! No problem. I love meeting new people! Oh, and I'd be happy to take you to the roof! I go there all the time." She replied enthusiastically to Axel. She smiled sheepishly back at him when he flashed his smile. He had perfectly white teeth, and she couldn't help but to be dazzled.
After Isabelle replied to Axel's question, Leah added, "Most people at Hogwarts have their own 'special' place in the Forest. It's normally just a beautiful place that you go to most often."
Leah had heard Isabelle's thoughts and shot her a warning glance that said 'I haven't quite got him yet.' She heard Thalia cry and smiled at her, hoping that Axel's cool trick would cheer her up.
Axel looked back at the school that seemed so far away. It looked tiny from here. He had been to the roof plenty of times and didn't really need help finding his way there, but he was intriqued by this girl. He pulled the sleeves up on his white dress shirt, folding the ends back neatly. He tapped his pants pocket to check that his wand was still there. He looked at Leah "Shall we?" He said, putting his hands in his pockets.
Leah noticed Axel check for his wand. It was such a small gesture, but could mean so many things. Was he careless, and normally left his wand places? Did he not trust her? Did he just simply believe in self defense? Leah wanted to know so badly why he had made that small gesture, and decided to stick around and find out.
"Yeah! Let's go!" She said, standing and brushing her jean shorts off. She readjusted her t-shirt, then smiled at Axel and began to walk towards the school.
Axel began walking, his foot steps light and silent as they went through the rocks and grass. He was always a quiet walker. As a wolf, he was used to the silence. He trained himself to not make noise and to focus on the noises around him. He could see Leah in the corner of his eye. She seemed like a good person. Energetic, bubbly. Kind of like him. Today he wasn't really so goofy. Actually...he hadn't been since he had gotten here. He missed he old school and it kind of ruined his mood being here. Axel sighed to himself. Maybe she could help him break out of that barrier he had put around himself.
Leah walked quietly as well, not yet decided on if she wanted to break the silence or not. She decided that she might as well engage Axel in some friendly conversation. It couldn't hurt, right?
"So, what was the school you transferred from again?" She asked, looking at him.
The leaves crackled gently under her light step, but that couldn't be avoided. She weaved easily among the trees, without hardly looking up at them.
Axel looked at Leah and frowned.
"Burlington Academy. Boys and girls school like this, but smaller. More of a city school, only inhabited by magic folk." He smiled. "I suppose Hogswarts isn't that bad." He said slowly, folding his hands behind his head. "There are some pretty sights here. I've never been able to see the stars like this." Axel glanced at the starry sky.
Leah nodded. She hadn't heard of it, but that must be due to the size of the school.
She looked up at the sky as well. The stars were beautiful tonight, but they would probably look better on the roof. "That's because you haven't found the right places to look from!" Leah said, laughing. "I can show you some of the best places later if you'd like." She offered, hoping to see him around more.
"Sure." Said Axel. "I really don't know my way around here yet." He took out his wand and muttered "Accio Hat." His white fedora hat (he had a gray one too somewhere) came zooming out of an open window and landed softly on his head. "Ahh..much better." He said as he adjusted it, pulling it over his eyes.
Leah laughed. She hadn't seen a fedora hat since the first time she had watched American Idol in a muggle bar. She smiled. He had character... and he must be brave to wear a hat like that.
((Don't get me wrong... I love the hat... so does Leah))
((XDDDDDD))
"Something funny?" He asked. He knew what she would be laughing at. And he was fine with it.
"So what is your favorite class?"
(You guys left me back there!!!!!!!!!)
Isabelle groaned as she watched as Axel and Leah walked away, leaving her there. She changed into her Animagi and followed them in disguise watching from above.
((It's not our fault you didn't check your posts! We can't control your character! By the way, you spelt Axel wrong.))
"No... It's just, I haven't seen one of those hats in so long! It's...refreshing." Leah said, still giggling slightly.
"My favorite class... That's a tough question..." She pondered for a moment before answering, "It's a tie between anything that Ginny Weasley teaches, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. What about you? What are you're favorite classes?"
"Refreshing?" Axel laughed. He liked how she thought his hat was...refreshing. When she asked him in return what his favorite classes were, he had to think.
"I'm going to say...transfiguration or charms. More exciting and you get to use your wand a lot more." He turned his head suddenly, searching through the darkness with his eyes before whispering to Leah, "I think she's following us. Should we..." He paused to look back at the darkness again. "ditch her?" He chuckled
(I was giving you guys privacy!)
((I'm going to warn you, and in a friendly way, that your post will not be payed attention to because you did not stick to the subject of this topic. Please also note that this Roleplay forum takes place AFTER Harry Potter's journey and whatnot. Either please change your post using the nifty edit button or delete it. Thanks!))
((OMG I think she actually deleted it! This is a major break through! Oh, by the way Isabelle, I don't want to be mean, but I'm gonna ditch you. Leah can't be sure that you were giving them privacy!))
"Charms is good.... I like that class too!" She chuckled. She frowned in confusion at his sudden wariness. She too looked around and then nodded. She put her finger to his lips and motioned for him to follow her. Then she moved stealthily into the darkness.
Axel nodded, staying quiet and crept along into the darkness, just as stealthily as she did before him. If Isabelle really was a wolf animagus, then she would be able to hear the slightest sound.
Leah decided that they were far enough, and broke into a dead sprint. She still moved quietly, it was part of who she was. She dodged the trees with ease, checking back once and a while to make sure that Axel was following. She was heading towards the far side of the lake and was planning to skirt around the outside, then weave towards the school, then back into the forest. That was where her plan ended so far, and it already involved a lot of walking.
suddenly DEMENTORS!!! o m g this is not good "run!" she shouted.
(AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! another newbie like Thailia! Maybe it's her! Great, someone to ruin my summer vacation!)
"Where are we going?" Axel asked as they ran, not one bit out of breath. He was used to running great distances at a great speed. He glided past the trees with ease as he held onto his hat to keep from losing it.
"I'm not completely sure!" Leah responded, continuing to dodge around the trees. She had come to the lake and was now running along it's outer edge, her feet occasionally splashing the water.
Axel stopped abruptly, his feet splashing some water around. The giant squid had stuck one of its tentacles above the surface, making a motion similar to a wave. Axel smiled and proceeded to walk at a decent pace.
Leah noticed Axel slow to a walk, and she slowed down too. She backed up and walked beside him. She didn't really know what to say, so she didn't say anything.
Axel adjusted his hat and moved a piece of hair out of his eyes. "I really need a haircut." He said, examining his long, spikey, red hair with a grin.
A bright glow came into Leah's eyes as she had an idea. She began to mumble to herself, slightly, "...never work... bad job... uneven..."
She looked up at Axel and smiled. She bit her lip and then said, "Do you think you would ever... let me... cut it for you?"
The last words came out in a rush, and she looked up at him uncertainly.
Axel raised his eyebrows, surprised that this girl he just met would want to cut his hair. He didn't mind though. He had full trust in her.
"If you promise not to slice off my ear." He said jokingly. "I dunno how short, so you can surprise me."
"Really!?" Leah nearly screamed. She did a double take, realizing how much he trusted her. It was strange for someone to trust her so completely, and so quickly.
"Okay, well I promise not to take off your ear, and I will surprise you, I promise! I'll make it cute don't worry!" Leah said, wondering when they would do the haircut.
"Er...cute?" Axel repeated the word with the same raised eyebrows. He quickly smiled though and began twisting his finger through his red hair.
"I think I'm getting split ends."
Leah paused and then realized her mistake. "No! No, no cute... what I meant to say was... uhm..."
She racked her brain for a better word, but couldn't think of one. "Man pretty?"
With those two words being said, Axel burst into a fit of laughter.
Man pretty. Ha!
"So...how would you like to cut it?" He asked once he caught his breath. "And when is this all goin' down?"
"Don't laugh at my choice of words! I say that all the time..." And yet, Leah couldn't help but laugh as well. Now that she thought about it, it did sound fairly absurd.
"Hmm... well I can't see your hair very well right now, but maybe if we move inside to some better light...?" She suggested, trailing off in question.
Before she could finish her sentence, a bright light erupted from Axel's wand, casting an almost greenish glow in a ten foot radius.
"Is this better?" He said, holding it up. "Or is it too bright?"
