This is a thread where you can talk about what happened to you today in school!
Today I did my book talk on the book the Darwin Awards... I got a 20/20, but I wasn't really surprised... I've done one of these each trimester and gotten a 20/20 on all of them...
My teacher always rights down your score and thoughts about your book talk. He has scrawling handwriting, so it's kind of hard to make out in places...
The Darwin Awards
I agree; There are funny stories even though they are morbid.
I like the guidelines for eligibility for a Darwin Award.
Good stories that you chose especially the buffalo.
You could explain why these are called the Darwin Awards. I doubt many in the audience knew.
I've enjoyed six of your book talks, Jessie. Interesting job again.
Of course, the audience was my class, and he is under the impression that almost all of them are totally brain dead... and some are.
What did I do in school today? If you ask my friend Eric, I did nothing all day.
What I really did?
Voted for prom court in homeroom, got angry because they excluded a couple kids from the ballot list. Watched hamlet in Enligh, got really angry because my classmates wouldn't shut up. Voted again for prom court in English...went to Street Law and made dead baby jokes...art, choral, advanced art. Got offered $25 to help my art teacher clean his room. Refused the money and insisted I'd help anyway...lunch.
Where Steve pushed me off my chair. =|
Gym class where we pretended to play vollyball. Geometry...I dunno what's going on in there....I never really pay attention there. Haha.
Mass choral in activity period....
Cool, but half those alto's have no friggin clue what the words or notes are. It's awful.
Today, again in Lit...
A boy named Erik tried to be wolverine. He stuck pencils in between his fingers, and then asked our teacher if he would call him Wolverine. The teacher replied, "I can't do that, but if I give you a responsible sheet, I'll put Wolverine as your middle name." It was very likely that Erik would get a responsible sheet... he gets one almost every Lit class.
Then our teacher began to check the notes we had taken on the last chapter of our book. When he got to Erik's desk he said, "You've lost seven points now Erik." Erik replied, "It's Wolverine." He then proceeded to growl for the rest of the class until my teacher sent him to the office.
It was really funny, but I still couldn't believe how stupid he was. FYI... he's one of the brain-dead ones...
((A responsible sheet is a sheet that your parents have to sign, and you also have to hand write the complete definition of responsible which i REALLY long. Also... every time you don't have your notes done, you lose a point on your final paper for that book...))
What I did in school today?
Nothing at all, I stayed home due to being ill. Or faking it.
First Hour-Math:
Traced my hand and played SKUNK
Second Hour-Lit:
Did 20 questions on "Rikki-tikki-tavi." Talked to Katie, Aeriel, Brittany. Gave answers to Cody and Emma.
Third Hour-American History:
Talked. Got yelled at for talking. Did test. Probably failed the test. Talked. Finished crossword. Gave more answers to Cody. Got answers from Matt. Poked Matt. Pushed Cody`s stuff off of his desk. ((Long soty about that.)) Got laughed at.
Fourth Hour-English:
Talked some more. Did mastery test. Got one wrong on test. Did assignment. Talked to Alex. Finished Aeriel`s bookmark and started on Brittany`s.
Lunch:
Had some icky salad and an apple. Stole curly fries from Nick, Kaity, and Stephanie. Talked. Choir. Band. Talked. Went back to homeroom. Talked.
Fifth Hour-Science:
Talked. Wrote down and answered questions while teacher was talking. Put my feet on the chair. Wrote on Brandon`s folder. Wrote on my folder.
NO GYM! Awards program:
Got awards for honor roll, band, choir, the play, solo emsemble. The principal said my last name wrong. AGAIN. Cheered for Jessica who won an award.
Went home.
=] Like my day?
OK... I think you must be a seventh grader that goes to my school or something... They did Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, and those are all of the classes that we take at our school. Weird. Our History teacher also gives out crosswords... but I guess the sevvies are taking geography instead of History...
Yesterday I was filling out I disagreeignment notebook, and I realized... I actually had NO HOMEWORK!! It was awesome! Then my friend Kim came over and we made a notecard for a Math test for the High school I'm going to next year... It determines your level of math. We're allowed to use a notecard (both sides) but we wrote so small that we hardly even needed the second side!! The math test is at 9... I'm nervous.....

I might be! Are your colors red, white, and blue?
NO SCHOOL TODAY
Ughhhhh I hate Saturday School!!
Hmm...well in school today I had to sit there for four hours so I decided to re-read Eclipse. I've only read it one, but it got very boring after the first 2 hours. =p
Then I got caught writing notes so I had to leave last.
It was fun after though because me and some friends were runnng down the hallways and hid in trashcans.
lol! I stay home, because there was no school due to it being a weekend! lol!
No our colors are orange and black... Darn! I thought we had a chance there! Haha just kidding I knew that would be SUPER rare!!
We normally have to read at the end of the day, but I didn't have a book, so I tried to help out with jobs around the classroom!
On friday, we had a math test! It was EXTREMELY easy! It was about something we call brøk, here in Norway, but I don't know the name of it in english! It's about circles, and parts of those circles, you subtract, multiply, and do other things! :D I think I got a full pot on that test! :D
But parent conversations are coming up. Bah! Even though it's only sitting in a room with your teacher for twenty minutes, with your parents, I hate it! Because, my mom and my dad knows that I'm really good at school, but that I really never do what I could do.
My brother was just like me, only that he was much much more worse!
And in sixth grade, my brother was told to TALK MORE!!!! And I was told to talk less ^^ And I talk a LOT! ;D
And, we have two teacher, one of them is like, okay, but the other one, I hate her. Or, atleast it's fun fighting with her!:D
She always threaten to write it down, and tell it to my parents, but I really don't care. That much. :D
That's funny! My parents only do Parent-Teacher conferences in the fall because they know I'm a good student. My teachers each said that I should talk less, and my English and History teachers imitated my bored face! (It was the same in both classes!)
Funny thing is, that they're the boring classes! :P
^^
Once, me and a friend in the class, ( a girl whos not that smart, but we hang out ) Started fighting over a pencil, which the annoyoing teacher held up, asking who it was. We argued. " It's minee!" " No, IT'S MINE! " At the end, our teacher got mad, and throwed it over to the girl. It was quite funny, because it wasn't my pencil, and not hers :P Ten minutes of that class!
And always when I get bored in the classes, which is strangely often:P I just go to the bathroom, check my hair, and walk in again, slowly, often just standing by the glass door. ;D
Haha! Funny thing is... I do the same thing! I always check my hair in the bathroom XP
This is a story about my sister Claire, when she was my age.
She was in History, and her friend dared her to find a way to get out of the room. So my sister (on the side of the room farthest from the door) threw her pen across the room and out of the door. She stands up, walks out of the room and picks it up. She walked back in to find the teacher staring, confused at her. "I dropped my pen..." She explained.
That's funny Jessie.
:D
I'm now ready for school! I have some extra time, since the bus is going in ten minutes.
But my omther is stressing me... I have to go to school! Bye! ;D
Funny, Jessie! ;D
All of the eigth graders left, so we only had science and english today. In our two and a half hour english class, we watched Barnyard and Chicken Run. Seriously? Are we that young to have to watch those? Well, it`s better than homework.
In our two and a half hour science class, we went outside into the woods and made terreriums.
Awesome! We just watched Bill Nye the Science Guy during Science yesterday, all about water! lol! We just talked about Japan in Social. Nothing in LA. NO HOMEWORK! ;D
We had an AT Walkathon today. My school does a lot of charity stuff...
What does AT stand for? Is that one of the things where you walk around the track all night?
Today was our DQ run for track! We run to DQ (about a mile), and then buy DQ and eat it as we walk back. It is so much fun! My friend (j) got a chocolate dipped crunch cone, and as it melted, the wind kept blowing it onto me! I was dodging little ice cream pellets for a quarter mile!
Today, the wind was blowing so bad that you couldn't see, and then all the girls gave up and went inside and waited for school to end. All my classes but Science are gonna be moved because my school is remodeling.
That's cool... Our school remodeled last year, and they're still trying to cover the costs...
Today I had to do my presentation in Science. My partner is Wendy. She's slightly overweight, but she looks bigger than she probably is. She also tries so hard to fit in, that no one actually knows who she is. So I started out talking about the Nervous System. I hardly looked at the slides, just every once and a while to know what to say next. Then it was Wendy's turn. She was talking about the brain. She stared at the slides the whole time, and kept turning this plastic brain around in her hands... luckily our grades are separate.
YaY! The whole seventh grade went to a fish hatchery. It smelled REALLY bad. But we didn`t have any classes. We went to Taco Bell and Charles kept telling us how to say stuff in Spanish like "Do you sell tacos" and "Can I get a number seven?" It was hilarius. We were taking pictures on the bus the whole time.
After Taco Bell we went to this park to eat and take more pictures. I got told off by a guy on a bike for sitting on the bike trail. =P
NO HOMEWORK!!!
Tomorrow is band tour day! I'm oober pumped!! I already know who I'm going to sit by on the bus and everything! I also know that the friend I'm not sitting with is going to throw a fit and be all mopey the whole time!
((I'm not gonna give too much away, but you can read all about it soon in my Fan Fic "Story of My Life" XD))
HALF DAY
We had two hours to do 1-20 in English. I got it done in like... fifeteen minutes. I almost had to do attendence for the whole school. Eww.
In Science we dissected owl pellets. They smelled weird!!!
We were going to have to dissect owl pellets in fifth grade, but we did it online instead! XD
We never get half days... but at the high school they get them all the time! And then each class is like 30 minutes because if you have all of the classes, then it counts as a school day.......
Today in drama class, we had the chairs in my drama class set up like a restaurant and two boys in the ninth grade, one proposed to the other. (lol!) Then at the end we asked where the ring was and he said he lost it and that wasn't good. (lol! we were still laughing!) Then in gym we were playing indoor baseball, kinda like dodge ball, and you run to one wall at the other end of the gym and you have to make it there without getting hit and get back. It was Boys v.s. Girls (We won!) well, my gym teacher was the pitcher for both teams, when the girls were running and he tried to us, he hit one of the boys who was walking out of where the girls were in the safe-zone. It was soooo funny! (ROFL!!!!!!!)
I'm done with school next week. I graduate June 3rd.
So just about everything is a blow off day now. I hardly do anything but sleep most of the day, and the few classes I stay awake in have nothing to do with anything.
I graduate May 28!! We have this week left of learning, next week is finals, and then the week after that is valleyfair, graduation, and dinner dance!! I'm so excited!
Our finals start next Wednesday. Open campus finals too, which means none of us have to go to school unless we need to take the final on account of too many days missed or bad GPAs.
And I'm graduating high school.
So I win. =)
XP
But I get out before you... and I get to go to Valleyfair... and dinner dance.. and this hot guy I like is gonna be there....so in a way I win... but not really...
Second hour Literature:
We had all just gotten in the room and were going to our seats. The teacher was messing with books in the back, because we were turning them in today, and most have us had sat down. Well, she turned around and this guy, B, was standing over S, just staring at him.
I knew something was going to happen but i didn`t expect this. The teacher kept on telling B to sit down, but he wouldn`t. He was just staring at S. ((These are two guys, okay?)) Everyone turned to lookat them because NO ONE disobeyed this teacher. She`s old and this was her last year as a teacher; she had seen it all. B just up and puched S four times in the face. And S didn`t even know what was going to happen, he didn`t even have time to flinch back.
B is this new guy, he`s only been at our school for a couple of days, but people fit into groups easily and quickly. B wasn`t even provoked that much. As far as I know, he was mad because of some tattling. Don`t know about you guys, but with there being only five days of school left, I don`t think he`s coming back.
So today we went outside for our last gym class. We were playing Spud, and I was running. I tripped over some rocks, rolled like 4 times, and then ended up laying on the ground laughing. I looked at my knee and there was a rock sticking out!
I pulled it out and it was bleeding a ton... it didn't hurt though which was wierd....
Ewwww!
Today after we had health it started raining and we were supposed to do baseball, we were gonna do it on the football field, we had a sub and I told her that it was raining and guess what she said! She said "Suck it up!" and then when we were just about to go out onto the field, she told us to get back inside because it was pouring! It was ridiculous! Then we played a mad game of dodge ball, and senior highs came in started playing. It was a war-zone!!! I swear the balls were flying like meteors! one rebounded off the wall and hit me in the shoulder, I was super scared and I ran towards the sub who was at the door of the gym and I hid behind her. I was crying for my mum and I wanted to go home, to safety. lol!
It wasn't that bad... this morning in the shower it cleaned up a ton... so it didn't look AS bad...
Today I finally got my yearbook back from my friends... they passed it around their room for like three days!
THREE DAYS OF SCHOOL LEFT! THEN WE`RE FREEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
I`m so excited. We had Monday and Friday off, then we have a one-hour day to get our final report cards and say our goodbyes.
Who else thinks that a one-hour day is stupid?
We have tomorrow (Graduation Practice) and then Wednesday(VALLEYFAIR!)... I can't wait! Technically I'm done with school, but we still have to go to the school building...
I think it's stupid, but that way the school gets to count it as a day of school, so you guys have one less day... technically...
OMG! OMG! I'M IN THE SPRING CONCERT! I'm singing! OMG! I have to sing in front of my whole class!
YaY! School is totally over for me! I have all summer to just relax...
Except for the fact that I'm taking courses over the summer... but it's for high school, not summer school.
Field Trip tomorrow! Off to Batoche!!!!!!
