Sky couldn't believe how fast the summer had gone by. It seemed like it was just yesterday that she graduated from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Sky was happy. The headmaster had granted her a home in the castle and gave her a job as an assistant to the Potions Professor.
Basically a student teaching job or internship.
She stood in the lake, the cold, dark water up to her pale knees. With her wand in hand, Sky managed to summon a small mason jar from the storage closet.
She twisted the lid off and scooped the jar into the water. Being an assistant had its pros and cons. Collecting ingredients was almost always a con.
Sky lifted up the jar and inspected it carefully, groaning with frustration when she realized she had only collected murky water and not the gillyweed she was assigned to collect. With a sigh she poured out the dark water and started to search again.
Jason stood on the shore, facing Sky`s back. He was smiling as she tried to collect whatever it was she was trying to get for the Potions Proffessor. He, himself, was wearing a dark grey long sleeved shirt, and only a couple people knew that it was because of the Dark Mark burned onto his arm. Sky knew about it, and he trusted her with the secret better than anyone else.
He chuckled as she groaned, announcing his presence to her. He tilted his head, grinning. It had been a couple days since he had seen her. She was busy now, and he wasn`t exactly allowed to be at Hogwarts when she was supposed to be working. But he had his ways to get in.
"Hey." He greeted her, wading into the water, not caring if his shoes or pants got wet.
Sky knew that chuckle. She turned around slowly and saw Jason wading into the water, jeans and all. She smiled warmly and waded over to him, sending the jar back to the shore and putting her wand in her black shorts pocket. She must have looked a mess. She had on baby blue tank top that had a few mud stains and blood dropplets on it. Ugh.
"I missed you." Sky said softly.
Jason smiled and reached out to take her hand. Her fingers were a little cold from the water.
"I missed you, too." He replied, using his other hand to tuck a lock of hair behind her ear. "Do you like your new job so far?" He asked softly, his eyes wandering back to hers. He had also been looking to get a job. He had graduated, so it was time to take care of himself, although he was doing that anyway. He had killed his parents, and he had no other family. But so far he had just gotten a few people suspicios about him.
((ill be back in a bit))
Sky shrugged while maintaining her expression.
"Its not bad. I mean the collecting is pretty rough, but its all so I can be a teacher someday I s'pose." She gently squeezed his hand. "Have you found a job or anything?"
Jason shook his head slowly.
"Not yet, but I`m not giving up yet." He replied. He was looking, and he was loking very hard, but not many places had open spots for jobs. And if there were, they wanted information that Jason couldn`t give them.
"I'm sure the headmaster would give you a job. He likes helping people who need a place to start."
Jason grimaced.
"Me? Teaching kids? Not such a good idea." He said. "I`m surprised I didn`t blow someone up as a student."
Sky giggled. Jason+ kids= not the best mix.
"You could always work with the animals or in the kitchens." She grinned. "If you worked in the kitchens the elves would do the work for you."
Jason smiled, squeezing her hand.
"Yeah, I guess I could work with the animals, that might work." He replied slowly.
Sky gave him a quick kiss on the lips. "You'll find something." She said.
Jason`s smile widened, and he lifted his hand again to caress her cheek.
"I know I will. Maybe then I can take you somewhere or we can go out to eat." He suggested. It had been a while since they had gotten to do something, and he missed it.
Sky closed her eyes when Jason's skin touched hers.
"You don't need to take me places. As long as I'm with you it doesn't matter." She said.
Jason grinned. He never used to smile. His life had been filled with pain, but all of that changed when he met her.
"Maybe I want to take you places." He argued.
Sky smiled. "You're very sweet, you know that?" She was really thankful to have Jason. They understood each other. They were both in the dark before.
Jason slowly ran his fingers through her hair.
"Sure." He replied softly. He closed his eyes and leaned his forehead against hers. The slow, cold waves crashed against his legs, but he didn`t care.
Sky wrapped her arms around Jason's neck and she looked into his eyes. For some reason she just couldn't stop smiling. She didn't even know why.
Stacey opened his eyes slowly, meeting hers. He tilted his head and pressed his lips against hers softly.
"Don`t forget about me up here." He whispered as he pulled away and ran a fingertip over her bottom lip. "I don`t want to have to ambarass you by following you around everywhere if you do." He teased.
"I would never forget about you." Sky said. She laughed at his comment.
Jason smiled again.
"I dunno. You might start forgetting about your work, because you can`t stop thinking about me. Your boss is the potions master." He teased gently, grinning the whole time.
"Ha. Ha. Very funny." said Sky, putting her hands on her hips.
Jason leaned back a little.
"No, I`m serious," He said in a very unconvincing way, "He might get jealous or something of my amazing good looks." He ran his hand through his hair dramatically.
"So jealous he might just slip something in your drink in Hogsmead." Sky joked.
((OMFG. I tried puttin the Jason banner in my sig again, and it was six letters too big.))
Jason laughed.
"Oh, I think I`ll live." He said, pretending to faint.
((XD))
Sky splashed a little bit of water at him, smirking.
((Wow, Sky. That post was so amazing. I think I`m falling in love with it. X) ))
Jason gasped, then his face crumpled. "That hurt." He said, looking down to Sky. He returned the splash, but his was bigger.
((I'm sorry. It takes forever to write on this thing!))
"Oh, this is war." Sky said, retaliating with an even larger splash. "Bring it on."
Jason laughed.
"You shouldn`t have done that." He said, taking three steps back. When he moved, the water moved away from him, forming one big wave behind Sky, growing slowly.
Sky heard water moving, but didn't see a splash. She looked down and saw t moving behind her. She turned around slowly and gasped. There was a giant wave that was still getting bigger .
The wave crashed down towards Sky, but stopped just before it hit her, instead dripping little droplets on her, not the whole wave.
Jason just stood there, smiling.
Sky held out her hand and stuck it through the wave.
"So you control water?"
Jason moved so he was beside Sky.
"Didn`t I show you?" He asked, holding his hands out and a flame and a leaf appeared. A strong wished pushed the wave back down into place. "I`m not that great, but I have the basics down."
"You might have. I'm not sure." She said as she watched his hands making things appear.
Jason folded his hands together, everything disappearing with it.
"Can you do anything specail?" He asked curiously, reaching out to take her hand.
Sky shook her head as she took his hand. "Nope. I don't have any special powers, just incredibly gifted with magic." Sky could do almosy spell mutely. She even made some herself.
Jason nodded.
"Cool. I can do that dark stuff well, of course, but I`m not overly gifted with the other stuff." He replied.
Sky bowed her head and sighed, a few strands of black hair hanging past her gray eyes.
"Sadly, I was really good at that too. The Dark Lord,...he-he used to pick me to do the Cruciatus Curse on his victims. It shames me to this very day." She said.
Sky never told anyone the things she's had to do for Voldemort. She was too afraid to talk about it.
Jason noded slowly, again running his fingers through her hair.
"I did the Imperius Curse. I`m surprised we never crossed each other sometime." He replied softly, trying to comfort her. He didn`t like to talk about his past, and his memories were much clearer and recent than hers, most likely.
"I keep having this dream. I'm in a meadow and its just so peaceful. So...wonderful. The air is fresh and the sun is warm. There are animals, and a waterfall. Its truely beautiful. And everytime I dream of this I see my parents but I always wake up before I can embrace them." Sky wasn't sure why she told Jason that. She lifted up her head. "Its cold." She said softly. "Would you like to go inside?"
Jason wrapped his arms around Sky, hugging her to him.
"Sure, Sky." He said softly, even though he was`t really supposed to go into the school anymore. There were one or two people still in the school who knew about him, and they weren`t his friends.
"Don't worry." She said as she hugged him. " Mostly everyone is at Hogsmead." She knew Jason wasn't supposed to be around here, but she really wanted to be with him. She felt like she's neglected him what with work and all. She sttarted wading to the shore.
Jason leaned over and picked Sky out of the water, craddling her in his arms. He smiled down at her as he carried her to shore.
Once he got there, he set her down carefully.
"That`s good." He said, "Because I don`t want to leave." He grinned at her.
Sky smiled at Jason as he carried her. He was really something. Sky took out her wand and pointed it at herself, suddening clean and dry. She dried Jason off as well. "I hate the smell of the lake." She said.
Jason smiled as she dried him off magically.
"Thank you." He said, taking her hand again. "Where are we going? The Slytherin common room?"
Sky grinned. "Well technically, I'm a staff member, so we actually go anywhere you want to."
Jason grinned, starting towards the castle.
"How about you pick where we go. You probably know the place better than I do." He suggested.
Sky walked beside him. "Slytherin Common Room it is." She said with a smile.
Jason nodded.
"Lead the way."
((Want to just skip to when they get there?))
((Sure. I'll even let you start us off. XP))
(( =P ))
Jason pushed the door to the Slytherin common room open, revealing the dark sitting area. The only light came from the fireplace, and that strange, greenish light that always seemed to be present.
"Here we are." He said, waving one hand around to indicate to the room.
Sky took Jason's hand and layed her head on his shoulder. "Here we are...." She whispered.
Jason turned to face her, lacing his fingers through hers. He rasted his forehead on her again, staring into her eyes.
"Yes, here were are." He whispered, tilting his head to kiss her softly.
Sky returned the kiss, her hands in his. Gosh, is this what love is like?
((Nice posts. XD ))
Jason smiled and squeezed her hand. "You`re amazing, you know that?" He asked, his eyes on hers.
((XD))
Sky blushed in the darkness.
"You're the amazing one Mr. Mitch."
Jason brushed his thumb along her cheek, watching her skin as if reddened.
"I don`t think I deserve to be." He argued softly, but grinning.
Sky brought her lips to his and pulled away softly, her forehead resting gently against his.
"I think you do." She whispered.
Jason smiled and laughed silently once.
"Well, if that`s what you think." He said softly, brushing her hair out of her eyes.
"Its something I know." She said, looking into his blue eyes. Sky was smiling.
Jason shook his head slowly.
"Do you want to sit down?" He asked, glancing over to the sofa.
Sky nodded and took a seat on the black leather sofa that had been worn a little from the students always sitting on it.
Jason sat down beside Sky, putting one arm around her shoulder and the other on the side of the couch.
"So, do you like your job? What all do you have to do?" He asked, looking into the fire.
Sky stared into the fire, its warmth on her face.
"Its alright. I guess its something. I have to teach one lesson a week, collect ingredients, and clean the storage cupboard a lot." She replied.
Jason noddes slowly, turning his gaze to her. She looked beautiful with the soft glow of the fire over her.
"Yeah, I guess it`s something, but do you like it?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
Sky shrugged. "I do but I don't. Potions was always my best subject and teaching is great. But maybe this just isn't for me." She looked at him and grinned.
"I wanna go on an adventure."
Jason tilted his head, curious.
"What kind of adventure?" He asked.
Sky's eyes lit up with excitement.
"I dunno. I guess the kind that you hear about in a Muggle movie. You know, traveling the world seeing new things, new experiences." She stared back into the fire, watching the flickering flames dance and make shadows on the walls.
Jason turned his eyes back to the fire, the flames reflecting in them.
"That sounds cool." He said. "It`d be nice to see stuff."
Sky giggled.
"We should go on an adventure." She said as she pulled a loose fiber from the couch
Jason grinned and ran his fingers down her arm.
"That sounds fun." He agreed, looking down to her.
((You know, you could, like, post as Seth. *nods* ))
((I will after i eat brb))
She smiled and nodded. It would never happen.
Jason tilted his head again, narrowing his eyes slightly as he watched her. Something about her smile was fake.
"Come on, Sky. I put the Imperius Curse on people. It`s gonna happen." He had gotten good at watching emmotions, he had to to make sure that the people he had bespelled were still under his control.
Sky yawned and laid her head on Jason's shoulder. He smelled really good.
"Why did you join You-know-who?" She whispered.
Jason rested his head on hers, taking a deep breath.
"My parents were with him. They`re dead now, but I still had to join." He explained softly.
"He wouldn't let you turn away." It wasn't a question but more like an understanding. Sky closed her eyes and listened to the sounds of the burning fire.
Jason nodded slowly, his eyes back on the fire.
"Right. But it doesn`t matter now. None of us have to worry about him any more." He said softly, quieter than a whisper.
Sky smiled. How wonderful of a thought that was. They were safe. Of course, there were still Death Eaters roaming about insisting that the Dark Lord is indeed still alive. But let them come. Sky wasn't afraid.
Jason brushed his fingers over her shoulder.
"Do you think that he`s really still here?" He asked suddenly, still staring into the fire. "There are some who do, and some who don`t. I don`t think he`s still alive, otherwise I would have seen him." He said softly and quickly.
"No." Sky replied in a soft reassuring tone. "The mark hasn't acted up since before his downfall." Sky pulled her eyes from the fiery flames to look at Jason.
"If he is alive, we'll be ready.
Jason watched Sky for a moment, then pulled her into a hug.
"My brave little girl." He said in a half-teasing tone. He ran his figners through her soft hair. Would he be ready of the Dark Lord really was alive? What if he wasn`t? He couldn`t stand up to him, or to the other, older and more persuasive Death Eaters. What if Voldemort was just planning something?
Sky laughed. "I'm a Gryffindor, remember?" She loved the hugs they shared. They were so...warm. They were what Sky looked forward to when she saw Jason. As he held her in his arms, the thought of Voldemort came to her mind. Even if he was gone, she knew she couldn't stand up to all of the death eaters. They would kill her as soon as they saw her.
Jason grinned and ruffled her hair again, taking her hand and leaning back into the couch.
"You know, I never knew that. And I didn`t really care, either. I`m a Slytherin, but I was also active with the Dark Arts when I was sorted. I guess maybe I`m not Gryffindor material." He said. He didn`t notice it, but his voice was quiet. That just seemed to be what was right, with the dark room and the glowing fire.
"Can you see me as a Slytherin?" Sky asked Jason, as she took his hand.
"Because it was either that or Gryffindor for me."
Jason gave a sideways grin.
"Now that you say it, I can`t see you in Slytherin. You`re too... I don`t know, willing. Headstrong. Independent." He said, tilting his head as he spoke.
"I think you should have been a Hufflepuff." Sky joked.
(G2g. Night! Oh, and I posted in the forest.)
Jason rasied an eyebrow.
"Me? A Hufflepuff? The ones who are supposed to be complete nerds? I`m not smart enough for that." He teased.
"I thought Ravenclaw was the nerdy house. They're always after wisdom and what not." Sky poked Jason's chest with her index finger.
"You are very smart." She said. "You just have to focus."
Jason grinned suddenly.
"And how am I supposed to focus with you here to bug me?" He aske teasingly.
"Oh, you'll think of something." She said with a wink.
Jason chuckled and ran his fingers through her hair, shaking his head.
"You know, you`re an awefully big distraction. You know, your amazing smile, your laugh, your voice." He said softly, playing with her hand.
"You know, your quite distracting yourself." Sky said quietly but with a soft smile.
"It's your eyes especially. When I'm talking to you, I'm just like...lost in them. And when you smile, you have these adorable little dimples." She softly brought her hand to his face, touching it with the back of her hand.
Jason smiled and took her hand, moving it to kiss the back of it. His eyes seemed to sparkled as he looked down at her. He had turned towards her sometime or another, and he took her other hand.
"I`m not trying to be." He teased. He stared into her eyes, lost in them, as she had put it.
((What color are her eyes?))
((Gray. Dark gray. Lame =P))
Sky laughed softly. "I know, I know." She stared into his dark blue eyes and just knew this was right.
Jason untangled one of his hands and slowly lifted it towards her cheek. He gently ran his fingers across her cheekbone, his skin barely touching hers. She watched her eyes, leaning forward a little, too.
Sky closed her eyes at his touch and tilted her head just a little.
((Guess what. I'm cold and have writers block.))
((Guess what, I`m cold, and don`t have writers block.))
Jason grinned and slowly caressed her cheek in his palm.
"Can you really sit here and tell me that I`m amazing?" He whispered, his eyes floating back to hers.
((=<))
"Of course I can." She looked back into his eyes. "You really are amazing. Infact, amazing isn't good enough to describe you." Sky whispered.
(( :D ))
Jason shook his head slowly, looking down to their hands.
"If amazing isn`t good enough to describe me, amazing is no where near good enough for you." He countered.
"I'm not that wonderful." She replied back, looking down at their hands.
Jason smiled.
"Yes you are. Have you seen your eyes? Or your smile?" He asked tilting his head as if he was trying to get a better look at her face.
"Well...yes but..they really aren't that great, are they?" Sky asked with a small smile.
Jason grinned.
"They`re spectacular, trust me. Grey. My favorite eye color." He ran his thumb under her eye.
Sky smiled. "You're a very sweet person. And gray isn't a very common eye color."
"I know." Jason replied. "But that makes the color so much more beautiful. You eyes, especially." He said, avoiding her comment on himself.
Sky merely grinned, her eyes shining from the fire.
Jason looked down at their hands and squeezed her fingers softly.
"I`m telling the truth, you know. Your eyes are beautiful. I don`t know if I`ve ever seen prettier." He whispered.
"I know." Sky said. "Nobody's ever said something like that to me before." She moved closer. "You amaze me."
Jason grinned and ran his fingers through her hair.
"I know." He said, using her words. "But you are much more amazing, I`m sure."
Sky shook her head, smiling.
"No." She said simply. "You are."
((I`m sending you Flair and you can`t stop me! I need points. =) ))
Jason chuckled and shook his head, his hair falling into his eyes.
"Whatever." He said softly.
((Lol. Okay.))
"Yeah. Whatever." Sky said, sticking her tongue out at him.
Jason frowned and tweaked her nose.
"Hey, now. Be nice." He said teasingly.
Sky wet to go tweak his nose back, but paused mid-air. There were footsteps outside. "I think someone is here." She said quietly.
It wasn't a big deal, but Sky wasn't sure how people would feel about two graduates flirting in a common room.
Jason looked towards the door.
"You`re staff, right? I forgot something my father gave me here. Help me look for it." He stood up and started to look for something just as the door was pushed open.
Sky helped look for the invisible object as a two third years walked in, laughing and chatting away. They didn't even bother to question the two adults but went straight upstairs.
"Wow. Usually they are extremely nosey." Sky said. "Odd."
Jason grinned, falling back onto the couch.
"I remember them. They wouldn`t have asked questions. Not to me." He said, a twinkle in his eye making it clear what he meant.
She smiled as she found her place back on the couch. The fire was starting to die down now.
Jason was quiet for a while, staring into the dying fire. It was nice in the dark common room.
"What do you want to do?" He asked suddenly. "Do you have a curfew or soemthing?"
"I don't know." Sky said, shrugging her shoulders. "No. I don't work tomorrow anyway."
Jason tilted his head.
"You`re lucky to have this job, then." He said softly. "And there has to be something you want to do."
Sky nodded. She was lucky. "It doesn't matter really. I don't care what we do."
Jason frowned.
"Come on, there has to be something special. Kareoke? Dinner? What?" He asked, making it clear that he would take her anywhere that she wanted to go.
Sky raised a row, suddenly intrigued. "Do you sing?" She asked.
Jason laughed.
"Uh, no. And you don`t want to hear me sing, either." He said nervously. Death Eater that can sing... a true oxymoron.
Sky laughed. "C,mon. You can't be that bad." She emphasised on the that with a wink.
"Lets do karaoke." She said eagerly.
Jason groaned and stood up, over-exagerating his reluctance.
"Do we have to?" He asked, holding his hands out to her.
"No." Sky said, shaking her head. She took his hands and stood up, smiling softly.
"Will you dance with me?"
Jason smiled and pulled her closer to him.
"Sure. Do you want to stay here, or go somewhere?" He asked putting her hands at her waist.
Sky shrugged. "You decide." She said simply. She didn't like making decisions.
Jason smiled.
"Let`s go somewhere. It`s getting close to dinner time, we can eat, too." He suggested, already pulling her towards the common room door.
"At least let me change first." She said with a giggle. "I look awful."
Jason frowned and cupped her chin in his hand.
"You look beautiful to me." He said, a smile leaking onto his face. He dropped his hand.
"I`ll be outside."
Sky shook her head, grinning. Her room was upstairs, but thats why she had a wand, no?
She pointed her wand upwards and said the spell in her head, her clothes zooming to her. She quickly changed into her jeans and a black sweater.
"Okay, now I'm weady." She said sweetly.
Jason laughed.
"Okay, you don`t waste any time." He teased, taking her hand and leading her downstairs past the Great Hall. It was cool outside, and he was glad that Sky had a sweater. He didn`t, but he would be fine.
Sky took a deep breath of the cool air, exhaling slowly. She could just barely see her breath in the darkness.
Jason squeezed her hand, smiling.
"Is there anything special that you`d like to eat?" He asked, looking towards Hogsmead. A soft glow was coming from that direction.
Sky shook her head. "No thank you. What about you?"
Jason shrugged.
"Not really, I just wanted to know where you wanted to eat." He replied.
((I don't remember anything I posted.))
"You pick where we go."
((Tiny post XD. I'm so tired.))
((Where`d it go? *Pretends to look for post.*))
Jason smiled. "Are you sure that nothing sounds good?" He asked again.
"I'm up for anything. Doesn't mattee to me."
Jason nodded.
"Okay, how about we go here?" He asked, slowing and turning to face a small restraunt.
Sky looked at the restaurant. It was small, but it was gorgeous. It gave off a welcoming feeling from the light from the windows. "Okay." She said with a grin.
"Then some on." He grinned, stepping quickly towards the small place and holding the door open for her.
I know how cool it is to be a student + I got in the coolest house eva Slytherin :D
