Isn`t that where, like, whole cities turn all of their power off for one hour at the same time?

I saw a site with it. So I've heard of it. But my parents won't let me do it. Besides, my house in the dark freaks me out. I believe it's haunted.

Never done earth hour.

Did you know that if you recycle all of your soda cans/bottles in one year, you save just as much energy as 2 global earth hours. So, Earth hour doesn't seem that energy saving.

And, I just forget it... : D

I've never done it either. We recycle most of our cans though. I think we give them to a church. I'm not sure.
Yeah, shutting off lights is good, but wouldn't it be better to maybe work with factories and automobiles? It sounds more beneficial to shut off exhaust for an hour than turn off power. Even though losing an hour of production can hurt a factory's income....

It is more about awareness of global warming, yet it does save quite a bit of energy,

It's just imagination that turning off lights is going to bring awareness of Global warming. And the concept is stupid. They encourage people to turn off the lights one hour. Why not encourage people to recycle more, buy the right light bulbes, etc.

And Earth hour doesn't save much energy compared to other recycling procecess.

Electricity is something you can generate even yourself using a like a turbine or something. By recycling other things, we can reduce the amount of fossil fuels and chemicals being used.

But still, it is a good thing I suppose.
