Alice looked around, her eyes bright. She had made sure she fed the night before so she would be happy today. She wasn`t going to mess today up by being crabby. She turned to face Axel who stood close to her.

"Ready?" She asked. They were going to Apparate to Diagon Alley and wander around. They hadn`t really decided what they were going to do yet, but they knew that they were going to have a good time. She held out her hand and waiting for the warmth of Axel`s hand in hers. She loved the feel of his skin against hers. He made her feel safe and made everything else quiet. She didn`t know how to explain it but when she was near Axel she couldn`t hear other people`s thoughts as well. He was like a dead zone.

"Ready." Axel said, grasping her hand. He looked over at her, brilliant white smile and happy sky blue eyes. He was excited to be with her today. She put excitement into his life, something he had needed a long time ago. He was wearing a black t-shirt and jeans, since today was nice out.

Alice grinned and stretched her free hand over her head. She wore a dark blue shirt with a V-neck and long sleeves with a washed-out pair of jeans. It was nice out after the long winter months, but the sun bothered her, too. A large pair of sunglasses was pushed up into her black hair.

"Okay, on the count of three. One, two, three."

She felt a sharp tug somewhere in her stomach as she was pulled from the street where she had been standing. A dizzying sensation washed over her but it only lasted a moment. In the next instant they were both standing in a hollowed-ut section of wall designed just for Apparators. They had landed in Diagon Alley.

"We have arrived."

Axel nearly stumbled when they arrived. Apparating was not his preferred choice, but he would be okay. He just had to have a second to get rid of the dizzying sensation. Once he gained back his composure, he looked around. Diagon Ally, one of the coolest place in the magical world. He loved it. The Owl Emporium, The Wand Shop, he even liked Gringotts, despite the cranky old goblins.

Alice smiled as she saw Axel stumble a little. Human reflexes were so slow.

"You okay?" She asked, knowing the answer he would give. "Where do you want to go first?" She pushing the sunglessed over her eyes and looked around. It was just after noon, so the sun was shining right down into the alley. People milled about, shopping or just being social.

"Well, I was thinking about looking around the Quidditch shop. There's the book store across the street if your not into the sports thing." He said, pointing to the book store where people were constantly entering and exiting. There must have been a sale today, judging by how many people were visiting the store.

Alice looked at both of the stores carefully.

"You know what, why don`t you go to the Quidditch place and I`ll run over to the book store. There`s a book I`ve been meaning to find." That book happened to be an Olde English dictionary with French translations. She felt a pull towards the bookstore, like she was supposed to be there.

"What do you think?"

Axel nodded.

"Alright. I'll meet you at...well we can just meet outside the book store when we're done. I shouldn't be too long. I hear there's some new brooms in stock though." A grin stretched across his face.

"See you." He said, and he walked off to the shop.

Alice nodded and started towards the small shop, winding through people. She reached the doors soon enough and psuhed it open. Axel had been right, the store was having a sale; two chapter books for four dollars, four for six, and six for seven. She locked that into her memory and entered the store fully. It was a collention of new books and old, Muggle and wizard. They didn`t seem to be organized in any particular way, so this wasn`t going to be so easy.

"Hi, my name is Amy, can I help you find anything?" A blond girl asked in a chipper voice. Alice pushed her glasses back to the top of her head.

"If you could direct me to where the dictionaries are kept, that`d be great." She said with a small smile. The blond stared at the vampire closely, and Alice could easily feel the stab of envy that shot through the poor girl.

"In the back of the store you`ll find a door with a flower carved onto it. The dictionaries and encyclopedias are kept there." Amy replied dully, eyes flat.

"Thanks." Alice brushed past the girl and navigated her way to the back of the store. It wasn`t that hard to see the door, it was huge. She saw it from the middle of the place. But she saw something that made her pause.

A man stood with his back to her. The form of his shoulders, the color of his hair... it looked so familiar.

"Seth?" She mumbled, knowing the man would never hear her. She still couldn`t read people`s thoughts very clearly, so there wasn`t a point in prying. The man turned as if he had heard her, but it wasn`t Seth. Alice shook her head and continued to the back room.

It was quiet in the little room. All four walls were lined in floor to ceiling shelves and row upon rows of books were neatly stacked on them. Alice inhaled deeply, loving the scent on new and old books mixed togther without the smells of humans to get in the way. She had left the door cracked and voices wafted in but she ignored them.

Getting to buisiness she moved towards one wall. Her fingers ran along with spines, trailing over embossed letters and worn leather. Randomly she picked up a book and flipped it open, her back to the door.

Seth was going to go crazy. The lines in this place were ridiculous and there were people everywhere. He groaned quietly as he pushed past some people blocking the gardening section. His Mother wanted a particular book called Magical Plants and Fungi for some reason. She was about to get started on a garden, now that she was mostly through her recovery. She was getting bored being on bed rest, so it was nice when she found out she was allowed to do mild labor and be outdoors.


  He scratched his head, his black hair long and shaggy, about down to his chin. Okay, so there was a book on muggle plants, herbs and spices, venus fly-traps, and poisonous cacti. But he didn't find the book. He looked around, his patience dwindling, and finally saw a worker with a marroon apron and name tag on. It read: Hello, my name is Amy. And she had a button pinned to her apron that flashed different adds.

"Excuse me." Seth called, but she didn't hear him. "Excuse me." He said louder. But the girl just walked away to greet another customer. He sighed, aggravated, and continued searching the shelves of books.

((You were supposed to jump in. =P =) ))

Alice`s ears twitched. The effects of Axel were wearing off and the thoughts of others were becoming louder. She shook her head and tried to tune them out, but not before she heard one thought.

*xcuse me. Excuse me! Gosh, this is ridiculous.* It sounded just like him. Like Seth. Alice shook her head again, closing her eyes for a moment. It wasn`t him, just that man again.

The search wasn't going well. Five minutes later, he was still going crazy looking for the weird book. He looked back at the girl, greeting customers, and decided to go ask her for assistance, because looking for the book in a crazy scene like this was not going well for him. It was aggitating. He pushed the people again and walked up the girl.

"Excuse me Mi--." And that's when he saw her. The pale skin, dark hair and sunglasses. Beautiful blue eyes. He hadn't a doubt in his mind that it was Alice.

The girl turned around, bubbly and happy as can be.

"Yes sir? How can I help you?" But Seth wasn't replying. He was staring at her.

"Sir?" The girl said, tilting her head to the side. "Did you need help with something?"

"No, I'm...I'm okay." He said slowly. And then without thinking, he walked over to the girl.


He cleared his throat. "Uh...hey." He said casually.

Alice thumbed through the pages of the book, stopping on page 243 and scanning the page. It was a book about fungi and wizard plants. She closed the book with a thump and slid it back onto the shelf where she had found it.

"Uh... hey." There. It was that voice again, just as she remembered it. She froze. She didn`t breath or even blink. It was Seth. this time she was sure. She could smell him. Slowly she turned around to face him, letting her body relax.

There he stood, half inside the room like an indecisive child. He looked... sheepish. And tired. So tired.

"Uhm, hi." She replied softly. Somehow she was breatheless. Seth. It was him. Sethsethsethsethsethsehtseth...

Seth didn't really know what to say. Should he say goodbye or stay and talk? 

"H-how are you doing?" He asked, pushing back his black hair. It always grew so fast. He leaned against the book shelve, putting his hands into the pockets of his dark green jacket. He had a black t-shirt underneath and dark blue jeans. "How's school going?"

He sounded like an idiot. He never should have uttered a word to her. He missed her. And seeing her again made his heart ache for her love. But they were broken up. It was for the best. Though, in the back of his drawer at home, he still had that ring for her. When he went to put clothes away one day, he saw it and realized just how much he regretted breaking up with her. He just couldn't picture himself with someone else. He was like a puzzle, and Alice was the only piece that fit with him.

Alice stared up at Seth with huge eyes. Was he really there, or had she finally cracked? Was it just an illusion, or was he really there? She took a step towards him, her hands trembling slightly.

*Pull yourself together! He`s going to think you lost it! He`s never going to take you back if he thinks you`ve lost it!* The more sensible voice in Alice`s mind cationed. It was then that she realized that she had taken another step towards him. One more step and she would be right in front of him.

"S--Seth, um... I`m doing good, I guess. Thinks aren`t changing much. Classes are all still boring as hell." Axel had completely left her mind. He didn`t matter anymore. Seth was here, now. Right there in front of her. She could smell him. An animal instinct pushed forward in her and she wanted to touch him, to hold him again. She realized that she had lied to Axel a few days ago. She had told him that she was over Seth because he was in her past. That was so not true. She had never stopped loving him, no matter how mad she was that he left her. She understood, and that was that.

Seth chuckled. 

"You should try home-schooled classes. They are a thousand times worse, I assure you." He watched other customers searching for books and mingling with each other. "I'm glad to hear that you're doing good though." He looked at her and smiled sheepishly.

Alice saw Seth look out the door towards the rest of the store and instantly spoke up. Did he want to leave already? Was he so sick of her that he didn`t even want to talk to her?

"Seth, I missed you." She said quickly, wincing as the words left her mouth. Great, now he`d probably run off.

The words caught Seth off guard at first, but he couldn't help but smile softly once she said it.

"I missed you too, Alice." Truth was, he missed her more than anything. There were times where he considered leaving home and coming back to her, but family was family, and he couldn't nor wouldn't, do that.

Alice felt her body jolt as he replied. He missed her too?

"I missed you a lot. Like, as in considering having somebody kill me. I was really depressed, you have no idea. But I got better. Sort of." The words came spilling out of her and she squeezed her eyes shut. Why couldn`t she shut up? The truth was, she didn`t want Seth to know what she had been doing. What she had been doing made her feel really guilty. Seth had left to take care of his family. Family was more important than anything, she knew that, but she just couldn`t get over it.

Good thing she had drunk a bottle of firewhiskey this morning.

Seth's eyes widened. 

"Kill you!? Wait--you were going to have somebody kill you? Alice, that is so...so stupid!" He looked at the ground, at his feet. "Don't you ever think like that. If you died...I would die too. I still love you."

Alice froze.

*He still loves me?*

A wave of pure happiness washed over her and she took that last step forward without thinking. She put her hands against his chest, leaning onto her toes, and kissed him. It felt so right, so normal, that it made her want to cry.

Seth kissed her back lovingly. He had never kissed her like this. There was so much passion and happiness. All of their anger and disagreements had seemed to wash away and this was what remained. It was great. He put his arms around her and felt his heart speed up like it used to. A feeling he missed.

Alice kissed him again softly before pulling away a tiny bit. Her electric blue eyes stared into his, a grin stretched across her beautiful face.

"I love you Seth. I always have." She whispered, pulling him closer.

((You can bring Axel in now. I`m anxious to see what you`ll make his reaction be. (= ))

"Forever and ever." He whispered, grinning from ear to ear.


Just then, Axel had stepped through the doorway, looking for Alice. He had a small brown paper bag in his hand from honeydukes, where he stopped briefly after visiting the Quidditch shop. He peered around but didn't see her. So he asked Amy if she saw a black haired girl with sunglasses.

"Just down there, in that room I believe. If she's still there." Axel thanked her before strolling off to the room. Why was she in the dictionary section? Oh well. He stepped into the room and what he saw made him drop the paper bag, candy spilling all over the floor. He was not expecting to find Alice and...and Seth together. He wasn't expecting him at all.

"What the hell is this?" He said, staring at them.

Alice smiled running her fingers through his long hair.

She felt more than heard Axel enter. He was like a wave of... human. Familiar, simple human. He didn`t have a clue, and Alice didn`t have the time to react. By the time she felt him he had opened the door. A cloud of anger and confusion rolled off of him, making the vampire jump back and wince, a hand pressed to her head.

"I was just thinking the same thing." She muttered. It felt like something had exploded in her head. Something human coming right from Axel.

Axel glared at Seth then looked at Alice.

"I think we should get going."

What was he saying? Maybe...maybe they were just hugging. Yeah, just hugging. Saying hello. No, it was more than that. He saw it on Seth's red cheeks and Alice's bright eyes.

Seth looked confused.

"Did something happen while I was gone?"

Alice closed her eyes for a moment, trying to push Axel`s feelings out of her mind. She had gotten used to the silence that came with being close to him, but she hadn`t quite been able to make his mind get out of her own. He has giving her a headache.

"Axel, please," She opened her eyes and moved towards the redhead. She put her hands against his chest and looked up into his eyes, purposely standing between Axel and Seth. "Don`t let him leave me again." She added that part in the softest of whispers, knowing that Axel would barely hear it himself. She couldn`t stand the thought of leaving Seth again, not after they had confessed their continued love for each other.

Axel stepped away.

"You know what, fine. Go back to him. I don't care. I'm used to people turning on me." When he said that, his eyes darted to Seth, who looked away.

"See ya." Axel turned and walked out the door, angry and upset. But it would all pass eventually.

"Axel, wait!"

Alice looked back at Seth. "Please don`t leave. I`ll come back, I promise," She darted out the door, running after Axel. She followed his scent and caught him before he made it to the door.

"Axel, wait a second. Listen to me." She stood between him and the door, arms held out and looking at him with pleading eyes.

Axel turned, towering over her.

"Don't bother. You just used me for a little affection. You know, for a little bit there, I started to feel something. But it's okay. My feelings don't matter. Now go on, go back to Seth." He nodded towards him. "This wouldn't have happened if you would've just been honest and said if you still liked him. Bye Alice."

He opened the door and left, walking quickly up the street.

Alice growled under her breath and ran after Axel. He was easy to spot with his bright red hair, plus hurt was trailing after him.

"Axel, come back! That`s not true!" She sped up until she was right in front of him. She held her hands out in front of her stopping him. "Axel, listen to me, I felt something too, and that`s not a lie. At first it was just because you reminded me of Seth, but then it became more, okay? I started to really like you. Up there on the tower I realized that, and I didn`t understand it." She took a deep breath, lowering her voice a little.

"I felt something when we kissed, some little spark. We have something, Axel. You can`t just throw it away." The ancient vampire realized that she was hurt. Axel insulted her then walked out on her, and that hurt her almost as much as when Seth had left. She had gone through enough with people leaving and never coming back and she didn`t want that any more.

Problem was, she couldn`t have Axel and Seth, and if the choce came down to her she knew who she was going to choose.

"Alice. Just forget about it. I'll get over it. But he's...he's the one for you. We aren't meant to be. Yeah, I'll be mad. Maybe a little bitter. But I will get over it. Now please, just let me go. I really don't want to be here anymore." He stepped around her. "I'll see you." He said as he walked by.

Alice sighed and stepped back, letting him walk away. Her stomach felt weird, like someone had punched her or something. Axel would forgive her or he wouldn`t. It was up to him, and she wouldn`t change his mind.

Feeling a little sick she turned and sprinted back to the bookstore, begging that Seth was still there.

Seth waited at the door, a worried expression on his face. He saw the hurt on Alice's face and decided right there that whatever happened between the two, he would not question. It was about the now. The past was the past. He pulled her into a hug and rubbed her back.

"Are you okay sweetheart?"

Alice fell into Seth`s arms and sighed happily. Axel was forgotten again. She was with Seth, and nothing else mattered. But was she okay?

"I`m a lot better now. What about you? Is your mother doing better?" She asked, pulling away to look up at his face. She lifted her hands to her face, still wondering if it was a dream.

Seth nodded, a big smile on his face.

"She's doing great. She can't over work herself and has to avoid extra stress, but she's fine." He ran his fingers through her hair. "So...does this mean we are...well, together again?"

Alice smiled again. That special smile that she had always saved just for him. The feel of his fingers through his hair was so amazing and comforting, the heat rolling off of him so sweet.

"I was hoping you could tell me." She whispered, leaning up on her toes so her face was close to his.

He brushed his lips against hers, holding her face in his hands. They were standing near the front door, in front of a ton of people. But he didn't care one bit.

"Does that tell you anything?" He asked quietly, his eyes meeting hers.

Alice closed her eyes as he lips brushed hers. It felt so real, so natural, that she knew that she wasn`t dreaming.

"I suppose." She replied softly, then pushed herself up onto her toes and pressed her lips roughly against his.

Seth pulled away, breathless.

"I'm sorry for leaving." He breathed. "I really want to be with you though. Will you...please be mine? Without you my heart isn't complete." He pressed his forehead against hers, still staring into her eyes.

Alice stared up into Seth`s light/dark eyes, not caring about anything else.

"Of course I`ll be yours, Seth." She whispered back. "I may be a sick monster, but I`m still a part of you, and I need you with me. Always."

"I want to start fresh. All of those arguments. Everything we failed to agree on, I want to forget it all. So...I need you to do me a favor. Meet me tonight by the lake." He said, then kissed her quickly on the lips. She was like a drug and he was addicted.

Alice nodded, but then shook her head.

"We can start over, that`s probably for the better, but I don`t want to meet you by the lake. Meet me on the edge of Hogsmead at seven." She smiled bright once more, leaning forward to give him another kiss. If he was addicted, so was she.

((Fast Forward?))

((Sure. Make sure he dresses nice. =) ))

Alice stood at the very edge of Hogsmead, anxiously waiting for something she wasn`t sure was really going to happen. She had found Seth, and they sort of got back together. Maybe. She still wasn`t sure if it was a dream or not.

Even so, there she stood, wearing black heels and her little black dress. Her hair was pinned up into a big bun, complete with sparkly hairpins. She wore a diamond necklace and held a small silver clutch.

"Where are you, Seth?" She asked outloud, more to herself than anything.

A pair of arms suddenly wrapped around Alice as Seth came from behind.

"I'm right here." He said, smiling crookedly. He kissed her cheek, then let go so she could see him. He was wearing a black long sleeve dress shirt with thin white stripes and even a white tie. He has black dress pants, belt and all, with his shoes. His hair was still shaggy and he was clean shaven.

"Do I look alright?" He asked, holding out his arms.

Alice turned around to face Seth and grinned.

"You look magnificent." She answered, stepping closer and looping her arms over his shoulders. "God, you really are here, aren`t you?" She whsipered, her eyes shining. Everything about him was just too perfect. The way he smelled, even.

"Well, yeah." Seth said. "'Course I'm here." He grinned.  "So why Hogsmead?" He asked.

((Eh.))

Alice smiled, breathing in deeply.

"Easiest place to Apparate from. I wanted to take you somewhere special, where we`ve never been before." She tilted her head to the side. "I wanted to start off right, and I figured a nice place was the best to go. Not so much pressure." She shrugged.

Seth watched as a few middle-aged witches walked by, talking casually about their husbands and children.

"Ooh. So it's one of those mystery things then, huh?" He took her hand and smiled at her. "As long as I'm with you, any place is fine." It was as if their relationship had picked up from where it left off. His feelings for her had never changed. The only thing that changed was his outlook on things. Being back at home gave him a chance to really think about things and grow up a little more. He realized something.

Alice shivered a little, feeling everything that Seth thought. She had promised herself as soon as they parted earlier today that she would not have a drip of alcohol. As a result, she heard everything.

"Um, I know that you probably didn`t want me to hear all that, but I kind of did." Alice admitted softly, growing curious. "What did you realize?"

Seth just shrugged. "It's something I'd rather wait to tell." He said. "Um, so you ready to go?"

Alice smiled and nodded. She closed off her mind, not wanting to get anything from Seth that he didn`t want her to know. His thoughts were private, and they should stay that way.

"Sure, just close your eyes." She answered. Without hesitating she stepped closer to him and they disappeared.

They appeared at the edge of a dark alley. The sound of laughing and talking was all around them. Alice stepped back and looked up to Seth.

"Welcome to Paris."

The first thought as Seth stepped onto the ground of Paris was This is perfect.

"Wow. Paris? This sure beats the lake." He said, looking around. He straightened his white tie and tried to smooth down his hair. "I hear they have good wine."

Alice smiled and took his hand.

"The best. Now come on, I made reservations." She led him out of the alley, and they were instantly hit with a soft yellow light. People were walking all around, most in nice clothes like Alice and Seth. The ground was paved in tan stones fit together like a huge puzzle. Stores and restraunts lined the thin street, all of them with huge bay windows. Inside almost all of them you could see couples and groups of people enjoying fancy dinners.

"What do you think?" Alice asked, squeezing Seth`s hand. All of this was familiar to her; she had grown up in a city not far from here. Everything about it brough back old memories.

Seth stared at the places around them, simply amazed at all of the scenary. He had never seen anything like this. The most beautiful of places he had been was Hogwarts, but this topped that by far. The lights, the atmosphere. It was just beautiful.

"I think it's...wow." He said.

Alice grinned, happy that he liked it here.

"Good. Now, I hope you`re hungry." She suddenly pulled him off to the side towards one restaraunt that seemed to dwarf the other buildings. It had the same large windows in the front, and inside there were small round tables placed evenly around the room. On each were a few candles and a happy couple. On the far side of the room there was a platform and a grand piano. A man was seated there, playing and singing intently.

((Let`s pretend it`s Michael Bublè, shall we?))

Seth scratched his head and grinned nervously.

"Well, I kinda...ate before we got here because I know you don't eat food. I'm sorry. I hope that didn't screw up anything." His eyes drifted to the man seated in front of the piano.

"Is that Michael Bublè?" Seth asked, squinting a little to see if it was truely him. "Wow. It is. Didn't know he played in Paris."

Alice couldn`t help but giggle as he looked towards the man at the piano.

"Let`s see, well, everyone except those people over there--" She nodded towards a couple in the front corner, "--seem to think so. I`d say yes. And it`s perfectly okay if you ate. You`re a guy, you have room for dessert." She squeezed his hand again and pulled him towards an empty table. She pulled out Seth`s chair with one hand and smoothed down her black skirt.

Seth frowned as Alice pulled out his chair.

"Hey now, isn't that supposed to be my job?" He said. He quickly walked over and pulled out Alice's chair before sitting down on his own. He looked at how fancy the table was. Perfectly white table cloth with some nice unscented candles.

"So...."

She shrugged and sat down in her seat, trying to hide a smirk. She watched him look down at the table and around the large, dimly lit room. She could see perfectly, of course, and all she wanted to do was to stare at him.

"So, how`ve you been? What`s been going on with you lately?" Alice asked, making conversation. Before he could reply a short, thin man approached the table.

*Bonjour, mon nom est Xavier et I `ll être vous servir ce soir, voulez-vous quelque chose à boire? He held a pen above a small notepad and looked between the two of them expectantly.

Alice grinned widely, knowing that Seth probably hand`t understood that.
**"Nous allons prendre une bouteille de votre vin rouge et plus anciennes ... Que diriez-vous deux desserts. Surprenez-nous." The man nodded and walked away quickly. Alice just smiled at Seth innocently.

((Translations:
*Hello, my name is Xavier and I`ll be serving you tonight, would you like anything to drink?
**We will take a bottle of your oldest red wine and... how about two desserts. Surprise us.))

Seth almost laughed at the innocent smile Alice gave him.


"Well, I'm great. And I'm working on moving back for the remainder of the semester. So I'll be back in good ol' Ravenclaw. What about you? Has anything happened while I've been away?" He put his hands on the table and drummed his fingers along the edge.

Alice`s eyes lit up.

"You`re moving back?" She asked, "That`s wonderful." She placed her cold hand over his, smiling at him. "I didn`t think you were coming back, your letter said you were staying with your mother." Her smile faltered a little. That same letter had broken up their relationship.

"Yeah." Seth nodded. "I was. But that was because we weren't sure what was going on. We didn't know how fast she was going to recover, how much help she would need. But she started getting better really quick. I think it was an infection that she had of some sort, which caused a really bad fever in her too. And antibiotics weren't working too well. But she's alright. She's just relaxing and taking each day one at a time." He looked down at her hand, then at her.

"She told me to come back. She knew I missed you. I never told her, but she knew."

Alice stared into Seth`s eyes, knowing that what he said was true. It amazed her that someone she had never met would be that kind.

"That`s... amazing, Seth." She paused, trying to find her words. "I want to meet your family."

((Shortnesssss.))

"You know, we could go there tonight, if you're up to it. My parents want to meet you and I want you to meet them. I know they would love you." Seth said as he grinned.

((Mwahahaha.))

Alice shrugged, a small smile playing at the corner of her lips.

"Well, I sort of had... plans tonight."

The man returned with a wine bottle and two stem glasses. He also had a tray on one hand that had two small chocolate brownies drizzled with caramel and fudge.

*"Ici, vous allez, ont une belle nuit." He said merrily, placing the bottle, glasses, and two plates on the table.

**"Merci." Alice replied, nodding as the man turned and walked off. She took the wind bottle and popped the lid off, pouring a small amount of the red liquid into each of the glasses.

((*Here you go, have a nice night.
**Thank you.))

"That's okay. We'd be better off going on a weekend morning anyway because there's a little walk even after apparition. We live by a dense forest and it's hard to transport with all of that there. At least for me." Maybe it was just his concentration.

Seth had a broad grin on his face when the brownie arrived. "Ooh. Chocolate and wine." He said, eyeing the red liquid filled glass. He lifted it up and slowly took a sip.

"Hm. That is good wine."

Alice smiled and nodded, taking a sip of her own wine.

"Mm. French wine is really good." She moved her glass back and forth, letting the smooth liquid swirl around. "So how about we go this weekend. I really want to meet your family, and thank your mother." She smiled, shyly looking at Seth.

Seth nodded, excited, glad, and nervous at the same time that she wanted to meet his family.

"That sounds great. I can't wait." He started on his brownie, it practically melting in his mouth. "So, about these plans?" He said when he swallowed.

Alice grinned moving one of the plates towards Seth.

"Go ahead, dig in. It`s really good." She pulled the other towards her and picked up her fork. Human food didn`t taste that good to her, but she could eat and would tonight. She really did miss the taste of chocolate.

"And my plans, well... I guess it`s a surprise."

"Aw, I hate surprises." Seth said childishly. He smiled. "Thank you. For all of this." He gestured to everything around them and the food.
"By the way, I also have a surprise for you too. But you'll probably have to wait."

Alice made a face and took another sip of her wine.

"I hate waiting." She complained, copying his tone. "And you`re welcome. I feel like I... owe you something." She shrugged, looking down at her brownie.

Seth stuck his tongue out at her.

"Hey, I have to wait. So you can too." He said teasingly, taking another bite.

Alice grinned, taking a small bite of her brownie. The man at the piano had been joined by a violin, bass, and trumpet player and they were all warming up quietly. They were all off from each other, but it sounded strangely nice.

"So the question is, who goes first?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, mine comes in two parts." Seth said, eyeing the men as they set up. He took a small sip of wine and wiped his mouth lightly with a napkin.

"Why don't you decide, since you are the lady, who goes first then?"

((I have to think of a surprise. =P ))

Alice smiled and slid out of her chair. Holding out her pale hand, she gave a small curtsey.

"Would you do the honor of dancing with me, sir?" She asked, letting her French accent come through. She had been raised in France, after all.

Seth grinned.

"Oui oui madam." He replied, once he got out of his seat and pushed his chair in. He bowed politely and then accepted her hand. "Part one of my surprise is that I learned how to dance." He said softly.

Alice squezzed Seth`s hand, grinning.

"Really? That`s great! Now I won`t have to go easy on you." She winked and pulled him closer, putting her arms over his shoulders. "So, what kind of dance did you learn?"

"Hmm, well I didn't learn a whole lot. I learned to keep rhythm though and to not keep staring at my toes. My Mother said that I need to feel the music, not just hear it." He placed his hands on either side of her waist.

"I think the typical slow dance would do. I think they're going with something slow."

Alice smiled and started to sway back and forth. As if on cue the band started up, soon followed by the man at the piano. He had a soft, silky voice, and more couples stood up to dance as the song went on.

"Well, that`s still good. Not staring at your toes is a good place to start." She teased lightly.

Seth nodded.

"I thought so." He said, his lips curving into a crooked smile. He stared into her brilliantly blue eyes as the music played and the man sang. This was a moment he would remember for years to come. He never felt so happy, bubbly. He just felt light, like all other luggage and issues were gone.

Alice looked up into Seth eyes and realized that she felt... happy. Everything felt right, for once. It didn`t matter what had happened in the past, or what she had done after he left. All that mattered was now. In this one moment.

"I love you, Seth." She whispered softly, still staring up into his eyes.

Seth lifted his hand to tuck a piece of hair behind Alice's ear.

"I love you too." He whispered back. "Alice..., I've changed so much since I've been away. I mean...I'm different. My whole outlook on everything has changed." He sighed softly. "I was such a jerk to you. I was incredibly selfish and I'm so so sorry that I was. I thought too much about what I thought was best, instead of what you thought. I want you to know that I love you with all of my heart and soul. This heart beats for you and only you and I want to be the man that makes you happy. Will you, Miss Alice Brokehart, please marry me?" The words he spoke were soft and tender. Sincere.

Alice`s smiled slowly grew, and she didn`t even notice when she stopped dancing. He was asking to marry her? Just five hours ago she thought that she would never see him again, and now she had the chance to spend the rest of her eternity with him.

"Yes." She answered, nodding. "I will marry you." She pulled him closer and kissed him passionately, not caring if anyone saw. She was happy.

Seth pulled back and stroked her cheek.

"I promise. I won't ever leave you again. I won't be the jerk that I was." He was just about to kiss her when he realized that the music had stopped. People were watching and clapping. Even Mr. Bublé had his focus on the couple with a smile on his face.

"This next song goes out to the two lovers below." He said and then his fingers danced along the keys of the ivory and ebony piano.

Though they were in Paris, who knew if the crowd understood. But Seth did. He turned a lighter shade of red as he looked around at the people watching and then at Alice. The music started and he was just standing there. But then he grinner nervously and took her hand, placing the other around her waist. Staring into her eyes.

Alice noticed the silence first. It was kind of hard not to; when you had excellent hearing and suddenly everything was was much quiter, you tended to notice. She looked around, and she would have blushed if she could. Giggling softly she looked back up at Seth.

"You weren`t a jerk." She said softly, smiling up at him, "I was the one backing off and being rude all of the time. She started to do a simple waltz to the beat of the sweet song.

"I love you." She added softly, not caring that tons of people were trying to listen in on their conversation right now. "Always have, always will."

"No, I was. And I never will be again."

He danced to the waltz with her, people following their lead.  "Forever and always." He whispered. Despite all of the people surrounding them, twirling and spinning to the song, Seth just saw Alice, his world. It was all he was aware of.

Alice rolled her eyes, but smiled widely.

"Forever..." She repeated softly, her eyes going distant. One of the last big arguments was the fact that Alice would live forever and Seth wouldn`t. She would have to think about that. She wasn`t going to let Seth die or grow older while she never changed.

Seth knew what Alice was thinking. He knew that look in her eyes. But he wouldn't question her or talk about changing. But someday, that conversation would have to arise again. He danced with her silently until the song finished and everyone was clapping.

Alice looked up at Seth again and smile.

"Hey, let`s get out of here. I want to show you something." She pulled him off the dance floor and towards their table. Tossing some cash on it she pulled him to the door.

"We are in Paris."

Seth stumbled and nearly fell when Alice tugged on his arm. His eyes darted to the cash on the table, then to her.


"Okay...where are we going?" He asked, laughing.

Alice laughed.

"Hey, you`re in my city now. And it`s part of my surprise." She squeezed his hand and pulled him down the narrow street. Soon they emerged at the edge of a large square with buildings on three sides. Less than a mile away stood the Eiffle Tower.

"Your city?" Seth raised a brow.

They walked along the narrow street, passed several people, until they came to a square. There, Seth could see the Eiffle Tower, lit up in the night.

"Wow." Seth whispered. "The...Eiffle Tower."

Alice nodded, wrapping one arm around his waist and resting her head on his shoulder.

"Yeah. I grew up in a city three miles from here, and I spent a lot of time in Paris. Everybody did." She explained softly. There were large spotlights bolted to the ground that shone up onto the great tower, lighting it up brightly.

Seth put his arm around her waist and smiled to himself.

"Do you miss it here?" He asked softly. He stared at the giant glowing tower, simply in awe of such a site.

Alice thought about that for a moment, her eyes tracing the familiar lines of the tower.

"No. I am much happier right here in your arms. When we were at Hogwarts I was much happier there." She squeezed him gently. "I love you, Seth, and I happy with you."

Seth smiled at the lovely comment. He squeezed her lightly in return.

"We can't be at Hogwarts forever. Maybe we can move here. This is your home after all." Seth eyes went to the dark sky, the stars bright and beautiful. They were much better at Hogwarts, but that was because of the lights here.  "I love you more." He said.

Alice hummed softly, tracing abstract patterns on his hand with a cool fingertip.

"Whatever you want. I don`t care where we go. I think you might like it here, but it gets kind of crouded and busy after a while." She pulled away enough to look him up in the eye. "You`re too sweet." She said softly, smiling.

"I just want the best for you because I love you. I don't care if it gets crowded and busy. And I can learn french." He tried to imagine himself living in France, speaking their language, and wearing a black beret. He almost laughed.

Seth looked down at her then leaned down to kiss her. "Why thank you." He said.

Alice smiled again, shaking her head back and forth.

"You don`t have to go somewhere just because I like it there, love. I want whatever you want." She squeezed his hand. "And you`re welcome. I meant it. You`re really sweet, and you`ve always put up with me."

Seth nodded.

"You're right. I don't. But I want to. You've been away from home for a long time. What I want if for you to be happy. That is all I want." He grinned. "And that's because you have put up with me."

Alice rolled her eyes again, but she was still grinning.

"Come on, loverboy. Let`s get out of here before we get all sappy and stuff." She started pulling him towards the right side of the square where a cluster of shops were.

Seth laughed.

"Well, we are in Paris after all. Isn't this like the land of love or something?" He suddenly felt himself being pulled and led through the square, wondering where they would be going next.

((I forgot where she was headed. =P ))

Alice smiled and squeezed his hand a little.

"They say it`s the city of love, but it seems a lot more like the city of war." She said mostly to herself. She slowed down as they approached she shops, eyes scanning signs.

"Ah, here it is." She said, she started towards a larger brick building with balconies clinging to the side of it. There were great glass doors that opened up into a dim room. "This was sort of most of what my surprise was. I was going to teach you how to dance. Properly." She squeezed his hand again and took a deep breath, getting a lungfull of his scent.

"City of war?" Seth said, surprised. "Why is that?"

He didn't really expect an answer, so he looked around at the shops. The windows had all sorts of manicans with expensive clothing and accessories.

They stopped at a brick building with glass doors. Alice was mentioning something about dancing properly.

"Ooh. I get lessons from the best teacher in the world. I'm so lucky!" Seth said grinning at her.

Alice nodded slowly. "All`s fair in love and war." She muttered softly, and with a slight tone. "And I am not the best dancer in the world. I`m just good at the dances I know." She smiled and moved towards the building, holding the door open for Seth.

"This place is actually and old hotel, but it`s beautiful and they have a little club in here." She explained as she stepped into the lobby. It was dark, with a purple light filling everythign up. There was a sleek, low desk on the wall in front of them and halls that led off to the side. It looked like a place you would see in New York, not Paris. Everything was shiny and new, completely current.

Seth chuckled.

"Of course you are dear." He said softly. He thanked her as he stepped through the entrance and looked around the old hotel. It looked entirely new though the outside made it look a little run down. The floors were extremely smooth and clean. The walls hadn't looked older than five years. He looked down at his skin, which looked purple because of the light.

((Sorry. My computer had a mini freak out.))

Alice looked around. The air smelled different, more spicy, somehow. She smelled the undertone of sweat and old thoughts as she slowly expanded her mind. There was a young blond behing the big desk and she smiled at them.

"Hello, can I help you with anything?" She asked in a light voice. Alice shook her head and smiled.

"No, thank you. We know where we`re headed." She started down the hall on the left and nodded at the girl as she passed. Vain human.

((It's cool. I'm slow at replying tonight because I'm doing a ton of other stuff.))

"Um...correction. You know where we're headed." Seth muttered to Alice as they passed the blonde receptionist. Where exactly were they going? Alice always surprised him. She was so unpredictable at times.

Alice grinned.

"I told you, we`re dancing." She said coyly. The hallway continued to slope ever farther down. Finally, though, it ended with a set of large double doors. She stopped walking and tilted her head, clearly listening. "I hope you like crounds." She added before pushing the heavy door open.

The was a huge croud of people, and all of them were dancing with the beat of the music. Bodies were tightly packed on the dance floor, with was really just a large space tiled in black. There were black lights pulsing around everyone and music was pounding with a provacative beat.

Alice`s smile widened. "I may be old, but I still like to have fun."

((I'm sorry I haven't replied. My mind has just been in...other places. =P))


Seth squinted at first, trying to get used to the darker environment, but it didn't take him long. He could smell the stench of adrenaline and sweat through the large room and people were dancing like had never seen before. Girls were grinding each other or some guy, others were doing more inappropriate dances, and others were just dancing to the beat of the music.

A grin spread across his face as he looked to Alice.

"Let's do this!"

Alice laughed and laced her fingers between his, pulling his out towards the throng of moving bodies. There was the overwhelming stench of sweat and blood, but she pushed it out of her mind. The strongest scent of them all was the sweet smell of Seth.

The music was a pulsing beat, enough to get anyone of their feet, and everyone was moving with the speed of the song. Alice raised her arms like the humans around her and began moving. She looked just like the others, and yet different somehow. More sure, or predatory.

Seth could only grin when he saw Alice raise her arms like everyone else. He was close to her, dancing, and looked at the other's before catching her eye. He could feel the vibrations from the beat of the music through his body.

((Do you just want to skip ahead an hour or so? Instead of RPing about dancing?))

Alice finally pulled away from the croud with laughter, clutching onto Seth`s hand.

"Come on. I don`t need to breathe, but you do." She said teasingly. She lead him towards one of the tiny tables placed on the edges of the room. "I`ve never danced like that before." She said. Her whole body seemed to be glowing. Lights were moving around the room rapidly, but there was a blacklight undertone to everything. Her pure white skin shone a soft purple color in sharp contrast to her black hair and dress.

Seth was breathing hard with little black spikes of hair sticking to his forehead. As they sat down and noticed how purple her skin looked compared to his.

"You look like an alien." Seth said.

Alice laughed and looked down at her skin.

"Yeah, that happens sometimes." She smiled at Seth, then looked up and snapped at a man walking by with a tray of full glasses. There were tall drinks and short ones in an assortment of colors. Alice picked two identical ones and waved the man away, handing one to Seth.

"Drink it. It doesn`t have any alcohol in it, but they don`t know that." She jerked her head in the direction of the dance floor. After taking a sip she spoke again.

"So, is there anything you`d like to do? We have time."

Seth took a very large sip from the glass and wiped his lips with a napkin that was on the table. The liquid was cool and refreshing. He needed that.

"Actually," he said slowly, "there is something."

Alice looked back at Seth, hearing a slight difference in his voice.

"Okay, cool. What would you like to do?" She asked, leaning forward and folding her hands together, arms resting on the table. Her voice was more formal, and she hoped that he wouldn`t crack up laughing like any other teenage boy.

((I assumed to myself that Alice also got one of the rooms in the hotel above. Just FYI. And there`s a pool, of course. =) ))

((That fits in. Haha. Mmmm pools!))

Seth didn't laugh, but merely smirked at her being so formal and folding her hands, which made her look all the more cuter. 

"It's kind of a secret. We got to wait for the right moment." He said as he adjusted his tie.

"Ah, I see." Alice said, looking back out towards the croud. It had gotten warmer and warmer in the large room, and Alice`s skin was warmed to an acceptably human temperature.

"What do you say we get out of here? There`s a ton more to this place than dancing."

Seth nodded and slid out of his seat before walking over to pull out Alice's chair.

"Lead the way, dear." He said.


((Blah.))

Alice smiled and took Seth`s hand, her silver clutch in the other.

"Do you like swimming? They have an amazing swimming pool, and no one`s up there as far as I can tell." She lifted her little bag. "And don`t worry. I didn`t know what we`d be doing, so I brough pretty much everything. Including stuff to swim in."

"Yeah! That sounds like fun!" He squeezed her hand and started to walk with her, though he had no idea where they would be going. "I love to swim."

Alice laughed and pulled Seth a little to the left.

"You`d get lost in here without me." She teased, walking at a quick pace. They soon passed the heavy doors and were back in the long hall again.

Seth stuck out his tongue. "So?!" He looked around the hall and noticed a small blue sign with an arrow that said POOL.

"Alright, there's the pool." He said, pointing towards the direction the arrow went.

Alice laughed softly and nodded.

"Good, you can read signs." She joked, now pulling him in the direction of the arrow. After about fifteen feet there was another heavy-looking door and restrooms on either side.

"Here, change into this and fold your other clothes up." She said, opening her tiny bag and pulling out another that was twice as big. "Put your nice clothes in here, love," She added, "I`ll be right out.

...

Seth rolled his eyes and took the bag before strolling into the men's room. He quickly removed his clothes and lazily folded them and laid them into the bag. He retrieved a pair of navy blue swimming trunks from the bottom of the bag and smiled at the thought that Alice planned this far ahead. She thought of everything!

He exited the room with the swimming trunks on, not used to walking around without a shirt that much. He waited patiently for Alice and noticed other female swimmers going by staring.

Alice came out of the girls` bathroom with her silver clutch in hand. She had a small two-piece on that was a deep red color. The few women who were staring at Seth turned to look at her. She stared back defiantly and after a moment the other woman got moved along and left. Alice looked at Seth without smiling, but there was something in her eyes that was somehow better than a grin.

"Pool`s in here." She said softly, nodding towards the heavy door before opening it and stepping inside. The room was large with two side panneled in glass. Those walls looked out onto an empty feild. There was almost no lighting, just four small blue orbs on each wall.

Alice looked around and raised a hand, waving it in an arc. She had issues with people walking in unannounced. She took a few steps towards the pool and slowly sat down on the edge. The water was warm, but the room was cool.

There was the sound of running feet hitting the wet tile surrounding the pool and a "WOO!" echoing across the large room. There was a large splash as Seth dived into the water, waves smacking against the low walls. He swam up to the surface a few seconds later, grinning from ear to ear at Alice, his hair flat and dripping.

Alice laughed loudly, now soaking wet. She dove in after Seth, using her feet to push off the side. The pool was large and deep with tons of clear water. Alice dove underwater and emerged on the other side, her black hair plastered to her face.

Seth dove under water when he saw Alice coming and swam beneath her. He grabbed her ankles just as she emerged and pulled her down back under the water. He released her ankles and waved like a little kid.

Alice felt herself being pulled back under and closed her mouth. She couldn`t drown, but the sensation was still not pleasant. She saw Seth waving and made a face at him, swerving around him towards the middle of the pool.

Seth started to swim towards the middle of the pool but the fact that he was only human made him need to rise for air. He pushed himself to the surface and gasped for oxygen, then proceeded back to the middle, only he wasn't underwater this time. His eyes were already stinging with chlorine.

Alice let herseld float to the surface.

"Don`t hurt yourself, love." She said softly, swimming towards him. "Like I said, I may not need to breathe, but you do." She put her hand over his and squeezed it gently.

"I won't." He whispered and pulled her close, still holding her hand. He pressed his lips against hers out of nowhere, hearing nothing but the sound of the pool waves hitting their bodies.

Alice smiled and pressed her free hand to his chest. He was a mass of warmth against her. It just felt right to be there with him. It felt like nothing could go wrong as long as she was close to him.

She pulled away a fraction of an inch. "I love you," She wispered, "Forever and always." She kissed him again, squeezing his hot hand.

Seth kissed her back, parting his lips just a little. He loved her more than anything and would love her until he died. He was so glad to be back here with her again. He learned how much he wanted to be with her when they had parted ways for a little while. Every day they were apart broke his heart just a little more. But it was mending with every moment they spent together.

Alice smiled again and pulled away again.

"Seth, I really don`t think this is the best place to do this. There are two six year old boys running down the hall right now with thier mom close behind." She moved a little away, even though thatwas the last thing she wanted to do. "I told you that this was a hotel, and it is. I got a room on the top floor in case it got late." She spoke quickly and quietly, and her eyes never left Seth`s.

"Oh, yeah. Right." He rubbed his neck awkwardly and swam back a little, his face a little red. "Are you done swimming?" He asked, not taking his eyes off of her.

Alice shrugged.

"When you`ve got all of eternity, you`re not really ever done with anything. But for tonight and the sake of the two children twenty feet from the door, yes." She swam to the edge and pulled herself out of the water, grabbing a fluffy cream-colored towel just as the door open.

"Ooo, Mommy, look! Oh, torry." A young boy said, looking up at Alice with huge brown eyes.

Alice smiled at the boy, who was joined by his brother. The two looked like twins. "It`s okay. You get the whole pool to yourself." She said in a voice obviously just for children.

The boy grinned and looked at his brother. The mother came up behind them and put a hand on each of their heads. She smiled and looked between Alice and Seth with a strong motherly gaze.

Seth smiled at the kids. They really did look identical. He swam over to the edge of the pool and climbed out. He had to pull at his shorts so they didn't stick so high on his legs and he shook his hair a little with his finger's so it wasn't so flat.

Alice looked at Seth and smiled, then looked back at the boys.

"Have fun, you guys." She said, walking towards Seth and handed him a clean towel, wrapping her own around herself. The two children watched her, slowly walking towards the stairs on one side. She smiled at the again and headed towards the door. She could feel the mother`s heavy eyes on her as she left.

"I hate it when humans do that." She sighed as soon as the heavy door swung shut.

Seth thanked her as he dryed off his upper body and wrapped the towel around his waist.

"What?" He said, glancing at the trio they left behind. "Stare? That's got to be annoying having them watch you all the time."

Alice shrugged.

"I don`t mind the kids, really. They`re sweet and don`t know what their doing. It the moms that freak me out. They stare at me like they know what I am, like I can`t be trusted." She stared at the floor as she walked, suddenly having an odd feeling in her stomach.

Seth put his arm around Alice's waist.

"Mom's have a weird instinct. She was just protective. She didn't know that you are a vampire." He kissed her cheek and then realized that they were near the restrooms. "I'll go change real quick." He said, slowly releasing her and going to the bathroom to change.

Alice came out right after Seth, her wet hair pulled up into a ponytail. Her eyes were wide and perfectly blue. Instead of changing back into her nice clothes she had put on a pair of black shorts and a black tank. She had put more casual clothes in Seth`s bag, too.

Seth came out in a white t-shirt and black shorts. It felt so nice to be in some casual clothes. He felt loosened up.

"So miss, where is this hotel room you speak of?"

Alice smiled and rolled her eyes.

"Well there`s this fancy thing called an elevator, and it makes people go up without stairs." She said in a teasing tone. "Come on, loverboy. Elevator`s this way." She directed him to the end of the hall and turned right.

"Elevator. Yes, I know what those are." Seth replied back with a crooked smile. He followed closely beside her as she led him to the elevator and took her hand in his as they strode on.

Alice smiled and squeezed his hand. Soon they reached the elevator and Alice used her free hand to push the button. The double doors opened immmediately and she stepped inside.

"Top floor." She said to herself, pushing the button that had a five next to it. "And up we go."

As the elevator closed its doors and started to rise, he watched as the electronic numbers started to get bigger the higher they went. There were several floors to this place.

After a few moments the doors opened once more, but to a large hallway with dark purple walls and black carpet with silver swirls.

"Here we are." Alice said, pulling Seth into the hall and turning right. She led him to the last door and produced a key from her magical bag, unlocking the door.

Inside the walls were painted a soft off-white. The carpet was red, and the furniture was made of a black stained wood. There was a dresser, a wardrobe, a television stand, and a bed with a red and silver cover.

"This is it."

Seth eyes traced every detail of the hotel room with his eyes. He even ran his fingers along the bed cover, which felt like silk.

"Alice," he said. "this must have cost a fortune!" He would pay her back later or do something in return.

Alice shrugged, still smiling.

"Not really. And don`t you even think about paying me back. I`ve got tons saved up, you know." She said, giving him a pointed look. On one side of the room there was a sliding glass door with red sheer curtains. The door led out to a small balcony that looked out onto the same field as the pool had. There was a smooshy loveseat out there, too, and there were green plants covering the sides for more privacy.

Alice moved to the door and slid it open. The warm night air spilled in and she took a deep breath.

Seth walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her stomach, laying his chin onto her shoulder. The air was so warm and smelled more...town like. It was nice. He smiled at how the moon's light looked on Alice's skin. She honestly couldn't be any more beautiful he was so lucky to have her back into his life.

"Do you know how much I love you?" He whispered into her ear.

A shiver ran through Alice`s body when Seth wrapped his arms around her. It felt so nice the have him do that, to have his rolling heat surround her. She layed her cold hands on his arms and leaned back into him. He smelled so wonderful. Part of it was the blood, of course, but she could smell past that now. His skin smelled sweet, and he just smelled like... home.

"Yes, because I love you just as much." She whispered back, turning her head so her lips brushed his cheek.

Seth smiled and closed his eyes. He really could stay like this forever. Just him and her and the moon and the stars. The warm Paris air and the lights of the town below. But of course, the sun would rise eventually, and as of now, he wasn't able to be there forever.

Alice closed her eyes and took another deep breath. She knew what she wanted now. Being away from Seth like she had had ruined her, and she never wanted to be like that again.

"Seth, I can`t live one day without you. I tried, and it hurt a lot." She said slowly and softly, opening her eyes. "I`m not going to let you get away from me again; I almost lost you. With your permission, love, I will change you to be like me."

Seth was so surprised that he released her and stepped back.

"Uh, are-are you sure? Is that what you want?" He knew how hesitant she had been before. Plus, she had wanted to get married before he was changed. "Yes." He said softly, brushing her hair back. "You have my permission."

Alice turned when he moved away. That surprised her. He had seemed so eager before, so ready to give away his mortality.

"Yes, Seth. You`re what I want. I`m not going to live a day without you, and you wouldn`t believe how horribly fragile humans really are." She smiled just a little. "When you`re ready, love. We won`t rush into it. Just make sure it`s what you want." She lifted her hands and brushed her fingers along his smooth cheek.

Seth swooped Alice into the air and kissed her passionately. He wanted to have at least one last kiss before he lost his mortality. He wanted his last human moment to be special. He would never feel a heartbeat ever again.

Alice kissed him back before laughing and pulling away.

"Seth, not tonight, not here. I wouldn`t dare change you here. Besides, I think this counts as rushing." She looped her arms around his neck and smiled up at him. Her eyes were a crystal blue, staring up into his dark ones.

Seth chuckled and turned and felt his cheeks get hot. He sighed softly, happily, and stared down at her. He merely smiled and kissed her forehead.

Alice grinned and stepped out of his arms.

"Come here," She said, sitting on the edge of the bed, "You feel really tense. Tell me about your family. Did you tell them about me being a vampire?" She asked, moving until she was behind him. She rested her hands on his strong shoulders and pressed on them gently.

Seth moved his shoulders a little. She was right. He was tense. This felt incredible.

"My Mother is a secretary and my Father is a construction worker. They decided to take on muggle jobs because with magic, they could get a lot done in a shorter amount of time. Axel used to live with us, but I don't think he ever really felt like a part of the family. My Mom didn't treat him like a son." He looked down at the bed then back up.

"I told my parents about you. Even when we weren't together. In fact, you came in a lot of the things we'd talk about. I told them about you being a vampire and that we planned on marrying. Yeah, that surprised them a little, but they know that I'm of age so they can't control it. Then I mentioned me becoming one. They didn't like that too much, but they'll get over it. Less food to make for holidays."

Alice frowned, still working at his shoulders.

"Well, it`s not like we can`t visit them. And we can still eat, it just tastes disgusting and we have to feel sooner." She explained. It was odd saying things as 'we' instead of 'me', but it felt good. She wouldn`t be alone any more. She would have some one to be with. Forever.

"I want to meet your family. Before you change." She said suddenly. "I want them to know who I am and what I do." I want them to trust me with their son, she added in her mind.

"Yeah, understandable. They'll love you. I just know it." Seth leaned forward a little.

"Thanks. That's good. You have no idea how amazing that was."

Alice smiled and layed down next to him, folding her hands over her stomach.

"You`re right, I don`t. Vampire don`t really have muscles you can feel like that. I haven`t had a masage I could feel in two hundred years." She shook her head slowly, looking up at Seth. He seemed to peaceful, so kind. It would be hard seeing him as a monster.

Seth laid down beside her on his side, supporting his head with his hand. He stared at her with a smile on his face.

"You aren't a monster. And we won't be monsters." He said softly.

((She didn`t say that out loud. Lol.))

Alice smiled.

"You could never be a monster to me, Seth. I love you too much for that." She moved closer to him and rested her head on his shoulder.

((Blah.))

((Seth can read minds, he just doesn't do it much. I gave him the power when I first made him, but I never really liked it so it's rarely used.))


Seth put his arm around her and pulled her close. He could feel her cold skin through his shirt and shivered, but it was pleasant. "I love you too." He said.

((Ah. I forgot.))

Alice grinned widely and leaned over to kiss him gently.

"I loved you the first day I saw you, you know. Don`t know if I ever told you that, but it`s true. You made me want to drop everything and go dancing." She smiled and kissed him again, this time not pulling away.

Seth would have said how he felt the same way. That when they shared that first kiss, he knew that they were meant to be. That even though they had their rough times, he loved making up with her and being happy all over again. He kissed her back with all the love in the world.

Alice found herself leaning over Seth, and she didn`t quite remember how she got there. But she didn`t exactly care, either. All that mattered was him. Seth. That was all. He was all she needed to be happy.

It was morning. Early morning. The sun had just risen probably an hour ago and was shedding its light into the hotel room. Seth opened his eyes and immediately squinted as the light hit his eyes. Once they adjusted, he looked around, for just a split second forgetting where he was and what had happened. But then a smile slowly formed upon his lips and he turned to look for Alice.

Alice lay beside Seth, her arms folded up close to her. She felt the smoothness of the sheets that surrpunded her and the welcomign warmth of the warm sunlight. She was awake, but her eyes were closed. Her breathing was smooth and even, the familiar scent of Seth all around her. She felt him turn towards her and smiled, opening her eyes.

Seth`s face was close to hers, closer than she thought it had been.

"Good morning." She said, putting one hand against his chest. His skin felt nice against hers, not too hot and not too cold. It was just right.

Alice suddenly sat upright. Her long black hair fell around her shoulders, and she clutched to her chest. Seth`s skin hadn`t been hot, like it had been the night before. It felt like the same.....

"Oh, my God." She mumbled. Had she turned Seth in the middle of the night and not known it? But how would that have been possible? She thought back to the night before.... nothing. At least nothing that told her why Seth wasn`t radiating heat.

"Good morning." Seth said groggily. He yawned and then noticed her sit up and mumble something.

"What is it?" He asked, sitting up too. "Is something wrong? Are you alright?"

Alice slowly turned around to face Seth, her blue eyes wide.

"Do you have anything sharp, like a pocketknife or something?" She asked softly, her eyes slightly distant. She couldn`t see the holes on the opposite wall. She couldn`t smell the sharp tang of Seth`s blood. She couldn`t hear the people breathing in the room next to theirs. Her mind was whispering one word to her over and over, but she refused to believe it.

*Human.*

Seth rubbed his eyes and then scratched his head.

"What?" He blinked a couple times then turned towards the small kitchen that was in the room. "I think there's one in the kitchen...why?" He slid off the bed, wearing the black shorts without a shirt and ran into the kitchen, returning with a butterknife.

"What are you going to do with it?" He asked. "What's going on?"

Alice took the knife from Seth, no expression of her face. Her skin was still pale white, but the sun was streaming in the window, and she wasn`t feeling uncomfortable. In fact, the sun felt nice.

She took the knife and angled her hand so the knife was over the side of her wrist, not where people usually cut themselves, but she knew what she wanted to know. She pressed the knife against her skin ad pulled it away sharply before Seth could stop her. She winced. It hurt. Blood welled up on her white skin. Blood. Blood.

Her eyes went wide and she pressed her uninjured hand against the cut one.

"Seth, I`m human."

Even with the blood leaving Alice's body, Seth couldn't comprehend what she just said.

"You can't be...human. Vampire's don't change back." He stared at the blood for a moment and then looked into her eyes. She did seem different. He took her hand. There wasn't that familiar icy touch. She felt...normal.


But how?


He suddenly pulled her into a hug. "Alice! YOUR HUMAN!"

Alice laughed, but it was automatic, slightly hysterical.

"Seth, I don`t get it. I don`t get it at all. How could I be... human? I don`t.... understand." She said softly, pulling away to look down at her wrist. Her blood had clotted up, so it wasn`t bleeding any more. She couldn`t help herself, she brought her wrist towards he face and licked her skin.

And winced.

Blood tasted, coppery, metallic. Not like food. Alice looked back at Seth with huge eyes. "I want food. Real food." She said. She hadn`t tasted food for a very long time. She wanted some now. But there was one thing she wanted more.

She pulled herself closer to Seth and kissed him.

Seth grinned and then pulled away.

"Wow." Was all he could say. He couldn't stop grinning. He just couldn't retain his excitement. "Let's get you something to eat." He kissed her once on the lips and then went to take a quick shower.

Alice smiled and titled her head to the side.

"`Kay. I`ll be here. Maybe I`ll order something from room service." She looked towards the television stand, where a small menu was.

"You can't order room service for your first food intake in 200 years. And by that, I mean actually tasting it. We're in Paris, you've got to try their food. It's better than hotel food." 

He had on a black button up shirt and jeans from Alice's bag, his hair smoothed down so that his bangs ended just before his eyes. He took a seat on the bed and looked at her, still in disbelief. How did this happen?

Alice frowned just as her stomach growled. She looked down at her midsection in wonder.

"Wow," She giggled, "Haven`t heard that in a while." She had dressed in jeans and a red shirt that really contrasted with her pale skin and black hair. "But I`m hungry, Seth." She complained, raising her hand to his head and running her fingers through his hair. She moved a few parts of it so it looked a little messier, but charming.

"This is going to be an interesting day." Seth muttered to himself, smiling as she looked down at her stomach. He wanted to laugh at just how cute she acted. "Well let's go get you some food then. I'll take care of it." He shook his head after she messed with his hair, but he liked it that way.

"Of course, I don't know my way around here like you do, so you choose where you want to eat. Okay?"

Alice laughed and looked up at Seth.

"Literally every other place around here is a restraunt, and they all serve pretty much the same thing. You pick." She said, standing up. Everything felt... weird. Like she had been reborn overnight. Well, in a way, she had been.

Seth groaned and tossed his headback.

"Fine." He said, pretending to be annoyed. He winked at her and took her hand, her skin a little more cold, but not like before, just natural, and led her out the door and through the elevator. Eventually they had entered the town where already people were walking and chatting. He saw a neat little restaurant that wasn't too fancy. It was like going to a diner, but more clean.

"How about there? It looks like a good place." Seth suggested with a nod of his head.


((I didn't feel like going through all of that "They pressed a button and went through the elevator" stuff. =P))

Alice nodded and moved towards the restraunt. It was a nice little place, but she hadn`t been there before.

"Sure. Whatever. Food can`t be that much different around here."
