General / Re: Are their any Drumers in the house?
August 2, 2005, 01:30:35 AM
Not True.

Not anyone can drum, you have to have style & as you say rythmn & co-ordination.

Travis Barker is nothing special, Blink 182 arent anything special either, you just wasted 50 pounds.

Take Danny Carey for better example, easily one of the greatest drummers of all time, but it takes a hell of a lot longer than 2 weeks to obtain that standard of drumming.

Emo? Pfft dont make my laugh. Emo kids are shallow Attention sleepers who cant be individual in the slightest so they find themselves stereotyping themselves as sad washed-up My Chemical Romance fans, who are easily one of the worst bands i have heard in a long time.

Well obviously there's established ones like Morello, Jones, Einziger, Corgan, Greenwood etc.

I'm gonna go with...Thom Yorke who is an amazing rhythm guitarist.

Bill Kelliher of Mastodon, great guitarist. Comes up with some astounding riffs.

Owen Richards of Colour of Fire.

Jack White of The White Stripes. Possibly the most overlooked when people come to talking about guitarists today.

Reminds me i really need a new signature myself, meh i shall knock one up later on.

Oh well, im glad you dont look down on us, its just stupid to think that because we are female we cant do the same as you guys, it really irritates me when guys think that.

Yeah, she is a very sexy lady, but i am straight so it goes no further than that lol. But i do like expressing myself in other ways.

I can understand your frustration with that viewpoint, its not a fair judgment to make at all.

Wow, I actually didnt think that many people had even heard of Silent, they arent all that well known at all, its really surpirising, i have met Lou when they played a small gig near where i live, they were one of many bands there, i interviewed her for a local mag that i have put a few articles in. She is a really interesting person, she is so polite and she can be really humorous, and just think she is about the same age as you, and she is already well on her way up the musical ladder. Not to mention she is stunningly beautiful.

how did you first get aquainted with SS?

Thanks, thats really good of you.

Ha, no i dont look down on women in the business, i have chick friends who are in bands, some of them are probably better than i am. I am a Screaming Silent fan yeah, not only is Lou all of the things you said, she is also pretty hot too, you might not see that side so much though being a girlie, unless you like a bit of both worlds Ha, alot of girl musicians are bi though, or can see other woman as sexy, i think its something to do with expressing themselves like they do through music, i dont dig other guys though. Not my thing at all.

Yup i like MSI, they have a unique sound which is always something thats hard to pull off without sounding corny. My favourite band is probably Tool, i love the way that Maynard writes, and i have no idea what the hell goes on inside that guys head but its something good....disturbing, but good.

Yeah im in a band, have been for the past 3/4 years, they are like my second family and are a bunch of amazing guys. Another Thing, you dont find many girls in the alternative industry do you? Ha, you must feel a little dominated? maybe not. But, most of the female musicians i have spoken to do.

By The Way, how did you get those icons on your account? could you do that for me?

Its OK if you cant.

A Metallica fan eh?

Well im certainly surpirsed, i thought i would be the odd one out here, i was under the impression that you all spent your time swooning over teenagers who cant act in a really hped up and unoriginal version of a classic kids book. Not to call you all sheep.

Well then things certainly just got a little more interesting didnt they?

Are there many more of your "sort" around here? i would be glad to get into some of your opinions.

What kind of music are you listening to? and do you play any instruments?

There are too many bad songs in the world to name.

Bad Cover songs are probably even worse, the fact that someone could take a perfectly good song and absolutley ablitorate it and consider it an achievment astounds me.

The old cliche of "teenie bopper" bands still exists, its sad but true, aslong as people keep buying the records of these talentless no-hopers the real talent goes unseen.

Sad Fact, it will always be that way though because the mainstream music industry preys on pre-pubescant girls who find these idiots attractive and are brain-washed into believing their music is any good.

well some ppl not only hate themselves but they forget who they are completely. like, they try being sumone else bcoz they have no self esteem and then, looking in their reflection they just forget who they are. and then they get confused and depressed, sumtimes killing themselves, or killing/hurting others in a stae of confusion and depression. it happens to a lot of people during puberty . . . .trying to fit in and stuff. ppl should realize everyone goes through with this stuff, so they shouldnt try to bring eachother down. no one is ever alone, they should just look harder and never give up, because ull not only be letting the ppl who care about u down, ull also be lettin urself down . . . . .

Most people who claim they want to kill themselves are lying, its usually an attention stunt, its over-done, its pathetic, i have seen it too often and i can see right through it.

Jimi Hendrix... duh :D

No, overated, Hyped up.

Fair Play the guy is rhymically accurate, but not the greatest.

Anyways, there is no such thing as the greatest anything when it comes to music/film etc.

Your always going to have people who think differently, it is based on a personal opinion of who you personally think is the greatest.
