Hogwarts, grade one

Marissa entered the Great Hall shivering uncontrollably. She walked with her new friend towards the front of the hall, where Professor McGonagall was waiting.
'I am guessing that it was still raining as you crossed the lake, Hagrid?' She asked.
Hagrid nodded and McGonagall glanced at Marissa. She pointed her wand at Marissa and immediately Marissa felt warm.
'The sorting shall now begin,' Professor McGonagall's voice rang through the hall. 'First up, Abby, Marissa.'
Marissa walked up slowly toward the stool and sat down. She felt the hat as it was placed on top of her.
'I see a lot of courage, and bravery,' the hat said. Marissa fought back a laugh. Her? Brave? 'I know . . .' the hat continued. 'Gryffindor!'
Marissa grinned and sat down at the Gryffindor table. She watched as her friend got sorted.

"Hello, I'm Lavy."

He came and sat by Marissa."I saw you when i was guideing the first years.What year are you in?"

Marissa smiled at Lavy. 'Hi.'
To Josh she said, 'Year one. I'm kinda new. What about you guys?'

"Im in my 5th yer."

"Me too."

Marissa piled a couple of Chicken Drumsticks on her plate.
'Cool,' she said. 'So, anything interesting about Hogwarts you can tell me?'

"A lot of people died here or tortured by my annoyance."

"Josh, don't scare her."

[Josh Weasley]

Josh grinned.

"So mean."

Marissa grinned as they stood up and headed to the Gryffindor Common Room. 'I don't mind. Anything else?'

"Sure there's tons. But you have to find them yourself that's half the fun."

[Josh Weasley]

"Thats pretty much all i know."

"Do I really have to say it?"
