(To understand this better, read Life and Death)

Goblet was crouching on the ground staring at two slabs of stone. He hated the slabs of stone. How did he end up here? Why was he even here? He heard a silent buzzing in his head.
Goblet was at his his house, a week after he met his brother. He saw a letter, which he knew was from his parents. He had already written his reply, he picked up the letter from his parents and read it anyway. Goblet read the letter thoroughly, and then he tossed it in the fire, including his reply. Goblet thoughts were washing in his head. He had missed the event he was invited to. Goblet was full of self-pity and guilt. He felt that he should meet his parents one last time. Goblet got on his broom, flew to where they were staying. He went up to them, crouched down, staring at two slabs of stone, "Hi mom. Hi dad."

Goblet stayed there, sitting for an hour or so. Then behind the slabs walked a strange man wearing simple brown clothes that seemed to come out of nowhere. "Hello." said the man. Goblet didn't say anything. He realized that this man didn't know what was going on. "Did someone die?" "What," Goblet started,"the f*** does it look like?" The man dismissed the question. "Who died?" Goblet was hating this man every second. "My parents." Goblet responded. There was something strange about this man. It wasn't the he acted, but, something about him made him different than everybody else.  "What did they die of?" asked the man. "They were murdered." Goblet stood up, "Who are you? What are you doing here? You know what? Don't tell me. I need to get home." Goblet started walking off but the man yelled "No! Don't go! They are enjoying your company." Goblet stopped. "Well, I am not enjoying thier's. F*** off. It's about to be dark soon." The man spoke again,"It will be light again. I promise." Goblet looked the man straight in the eyes. "Who-, no, what the h*** are you?" said Goblet, stepping back. The man smiled, revealing two fangs.

"Who the f*** are you?" asked Goblet. "I could be anybody, a friend of your parents, or somebody that could easily kill you right now, which I am sure won't be that hard to do." Goblet was very angry at this man. "Listen man, f*** off, right now. I don't want to hurt you, but I will if I have to."
"Do I hear fear in you? Don't even think of grabbing your wand, if you do, I will, how you say, make you my slave before you have the time to say a spell." Goblet wasn't grabbing a hold of his wand. "What do you want?" asked Goblet.
"Oh just a bargain." Goblet couldn't believe what he was hearing. "I want you to do what I say for one hundred years, killing humans, getting artifacts, stealing artifacts, ectera, ectera. However, if you deny me, you will be my slave and serve me for the rest of your life."
"Get the h*** away from me. "Why do you even want me anyway?"asked Goblet. "Oh I am familiar with your abilities. "Oh yeah? Kill m-" Goblet was suddenly cut off right away as he was pounced on by the vampire. He was getting to close to the neck. Goblet sunk his rusty steak knife, something he has used many times before, into the vampires stomach. The vampire suddenly lost his strong grip on Goblet and he fell over. Goblet heard the vampire muttering under his breath. Goblet stared down at his knife, he was glad to have this weapon, it has saved his life many times in the past and Goblet now thought of it as a treasured possession.
Goblet looked at the vampire, he was still muttering, while he was staring very intently at Goblet. No. "SHUT UP!!! SHU-" It was too late. Goblet heard the vampires last words, "Looks like we both will lose something today." Goblet got his knife and stabbed the vampire in the heart and saw it disintergrate into ashes. Now Goblet was poisined with a spell the vampire had casts. What did it do? He was going to have to find somebody to find out.

Goblet went to a large tree slid down on his back and tried to think. Who was that? What spell did he do? Goblet tried to think, but he seemed to get too carried away. "Visit him , brother." Goblet seemed to wake up, "Huh. What the-...brother. Where are you?" Goblet looked around to find no one except an old man with a beard looking at a grave. Goblet tried to think of the words Mithos had said to him, "Visit him."
"What? Visit who?! There is noone to v-" Goblet cut off , and saw the old man. Goblet went up to him but before Goblet could talk he said, "Sorry. I have been here too long Gravekeeper. I'll go now." The man started walking away but Goblet then said, "Wait, don't go! I have been told to meet you." The man stopped walking, "Why do you come up to me? Can't you see I was mourning over my dead wife?" "Well, somebody told me to meet-"
"Oh yeah? Who?" the man asked demandedly. "Mithos?" said Goblet. The man gave a strange look, "Never heard of him. He must be some kind of prankster." Goblet felt his fury rise, "Listen. I need help and my brother told me to go to you. If you are not going to help me, fine."
"So what if I don't help you? You interupt the mourning of my dead wife and you expect me to help you? What will it cost you if I don't help?"
Goblet looked at the man intently, "My life." The man seemed to have felt something different when he heard this. "Sigh. Very well. What do you need help with?" Goblet felt his fury go away."A vampire placed a spell on me when he was inches from dying. Do you know what spell this is?" Goblet asked.
"Now is not the environment to discuss this. Let's go to my house." The man and Goblet started walking. "By the way, my name''s Keith but call me Goblet." Goblet extended his hand. "Jasper." he said as he shook Goblet's hand. "My house isn't far. It's right here as a matter a fact.
Jasper's house wasn't very big, but it was nice, as if going for quality over quantity. "Come on in." His house on the inside looked like a library, there were books every whrere, couple of bookshelves, and a few lit candles. "Now. Started Jasper, "What clothes did this man wear?"
"Uh, he wore simple brown clothes but I don-" Jasper cut him off, "What state was the vampire in before he casted the curse?"
"Um, the vampire was almost dead, then I killed him." answered Goblet. "Ah, now I know what he placed upon you." Goblet stared at Jasper, "Tell me. Is there any cure?"
Jasper dissmissed the question, "That spell he placed upon you has a bad effect and a tiny good effect. The bad effect is that you will be held between life and death one hour later, assuming that have just been cursed with the spell, the good effect is that you will have a chance to keep your life."
"Keep going." said Goblet. "When you are between life and death, I have one piece of advice. Follow the light. You will not be alone when you try to bring yourself to life. There will be a few people that will be there too and have the same goal you have." Goblet felt a little bit confused. Jasper looked around Goblet's face.
"Judging by the way you look, you have three minutes untill this happens. Now you will end up in some sort of castle, remember, follow the light. There will be enemies there that will try to kill you, vampires most of the time."
Goblet looked at his watch and was shocked that that he had one minute left, "How do you know all this?" asked Goblet. Jasper looked down and said, "It's what took my wife."
Goblet felt a wave over him felt like he was being shot up in the air, and he landed face flat. He looked around blurry eyed and saw he wasn't in the house anymore. He was being held between life and death.

Goblet woke up. He was in some kind of room made of stone with a window. Goblet looked around. There were people around. All of them seemed about in thier mid 20's which made Goblet feel lacking because he was only fourteen.
"Look, that little kid is up." said one of the people. Goblet blurriness was clearing. There were about six people, five men and one woman.
"Who are you?" asked Goblet. A black man walked up, "You don't know why we are here? If you don't know why we are here then you are probably gonna die today, son."
"I just want to know who you are! I know exactly why we are here."
"You don't know why we are here, and not even you know why you are here. If you did, you would cry like there is no tommorow." said the man.
"Wierzbaski, just give him a break. We probably going to have to protect this kid." said one of the men.
"Shut up, Hicks. This kid should know what he is up against." said Wierzbaski. Goblet couldn't take it anymore. "I know why we are here, d*****! This place is between life and death! If we don't get out of here, life won't mean one d*** thing because death will be our only option!"
"You do know why we are here. That's impressive. No tears, no fear. I'm starting to like this kid. Can you fight, or can you just emit sparks? asked Wierzbaski.
"I can handle myself." replied Goblet. "I will be looking up to those words. Was' your name, kid?" asked Wierzbaski. "Keith, but just call me by my nickname, Goblet."
"All right, Goblet. Let me introduce everybody, that guy over there is Hicks. The woman is Vasquez, that guy over the is Deitrich-"
"I'm Hudson, actually. That guy over there is Dietrich." Vasquez started speaking, "I say this kid can't do a d*** thing, if it weren't for his height, I would say that he is about four years ol-" Vasquez stopped speaking when the door was smashed down. A man came in dressed in awfully dark clothes, he muttered a spell with his wand and everybody fell down not able to breathe. The man started laughing, showing his vampirish fangs.

Goblet tried to think while the vampire was binding his lungs. Vampire, vampire, silver! Goblet got a hand on the tip of his knife, and threw it at the vampire, striking him on the side of his head. The vampire fell down, disintergrating as he hit the floor.
"We *cough* owe you for that kid." said Hicks. "Yeah whatever. This kid did us a favor. We could have taken him. We have sliver swords after all." said Vasquez, sheathing her sword a little, then putting it back.
"Yeah, save your thank yous for later Vasquez," said Hicks sarcastically, "we need a plan to get out of here. Any suggestions?"
"I say we stay here for all eternity and kill every single vampire." said Hudson. Dietrich responded, "Five of the greatest aurors of all time died trying to do that. They tried to do that because if some people come here, they could get out, however they do that."
"Does anybody even know how to get out? Wait, I remember asking Hicks to look it up." Everybody looked at Hicks, whose color was draining fast from his face. "You-"  started Vasquez, "we are all gonna die because you couldn't open one book." Vasquez sheathed her sword.
"WAIT! I think I know how to get out." started Goblet. "Follow the light."
"What does that mean? The only light I see is over there." said Wierzbaski, pointing out the window. Goblet hurrying went over and looked out the window."

What Goblet saw outside was horrible. It is not the outside the little kids in playgrounds enjoy. There seemed to be a greenish gas floating near the ground and all the plants and trees were dead. And Goblet saw, like Wierzbaski said, was a bright light from a mile away. It was surrounded by some sort of shrine. Looking down, Goblet would say that he is about ten stories high.
"Well, I guess we are going to have to follow the light. Don't know what else to do." said Wierzbaski.
"Screw that kid. I am not making him a leader." said Vasquez.
"Don't think of him as a leader. More like a guide." said Hicks.
"I AM NOT GOING TO PLACE MY LIFE IN THE HANDS OF THIS KID!!!" roared Vasquez.
         "Whatever, eighty five." said Hudson.
"You shut the h*** up, Hudson." said Vasquez, sheathing her sword.
"Going to kill me? We are going to need eath other to survive." said Hudson with no fear in his voice.
"Speaking of surviving,"started Hicks, "How the h*** are we going to?! There are vampires all over the place and we are going to be lucky if only one of us reaches the fifth floor!"
"Well, it sure beats the h*** out of just staying here, waiting to die." said Wierzbaski.
"Well, what about the kid?" started Hudson, "I don't want to protect him. He says he can handle his own d*** self. I doubt that knife can do anything against a bunch of vampires. And I doubt he knows any spells against vampires. He could at least carry a sword."
"There was a sword on the vampire." said Dietrich simpley.
"Well, it ain't sil-blimey! It is silver!" said Wierzbaski, picking up the sword. "Who would have thought? Well, you keep what you kill, Goblet. Here." Wierzbaski tossed the sword at Goblet, who caught it by its handle and twirled it a few times. "Let's go." said Goblet.
The group continued on to the next room, except for Wierzbaski and Goblet. "Uh, Wierzbaski? Why did Vasquez get all mad when Hudson called her eighty five?" Wierzbaski turned his head to make sure Vasquez wasn't hearing. "Well, some people looked at her personal file. It's her IQ."

goblet_fulla_fire

Goblet and Wierzbaski caught up with the group. So far, they hadn't found any stairs or even holes in the ground jugding by the state of this place. There seemed to be a lot of of skeletons around, even some with vampire teeth. Every once in a while, they saw a gruesome torture device. There was this one room where it looks like as if there was a cannon fight.
"Well, there is a hole here." said Hicks obviously.
"It doesn't look too deep. I'm sure we can drop down without getting hurt. And it will bring us a little closer to our destination." said Wierzbaski.
"Wait just a moment." said Hudson. He got out his wand, muttered a spell, and it emmited a golden circle. "Okay we are good to go."
"What is that spell?" asked Goblet, as Wierzbaski dropped through.
"Radar. Shows every moderately sized living thing within thirty meters. Just hope not too many midgets are vampires." said Hudson, as Diethrich fell through.
Goblet laughed. "We should get going." said Goblet as he fell through. Goblet fell through what looked alot like the Great Hall at Hogwarts, except nobody bothered to clean up after themselves and it looked abandoned.
Hicks, Hudson, and Vasquez fell through just after Goblet. "Okay, let's go." said Wierzbaski.
"Wait!" yelled Hudson. Goblet saw that Hudson had his radar out with an alarmed expression on his face. "Ten vampires! No, twenty! There are just too many! Can't count!"
