Very Bored

[Neo]

Neo smiled and put his head in her lap and closed his eyes.

[LavyBrown]

Lavy started playing with his hair. "Are you happy?" she asked.

[Neo]

Neo laughed. "Getting there."

[LavyBrown]

"Well that's good to hear." Lavy said looking up at the sky.

[Neo]

"What are you thinking?"

[LavyBrown]

"Hmm?" Lavy said looking back at Neo.

[Neo]

"How do you feel right now?"

[LavyBrown]

Lavy shruged. "Uneasy. Something always seems off to me..." she looked up at the sun.

[Neo]

Neo leaned up and kissed Lavy's abs. "I'm here for ya babe."

[LavyBrown]

Lavy smiled weakly. "I know."

[Neo]

Neo studied her face for a long time. "What do you think of me Lavy", he began slowly, "really? Honestly?"

[LavyBrown]

"Honestly? Well, sometimes it seems like the only person you think about is yourself and no one else matters. But other times it seems like the only person your not thinking about is yourself. Your very complicated. There are days when I just want to slap you and days when I could just kiss you. Your self-centered, destructive, and maybe even cruel, but in some bizarre way, that's okay to me because you probably wouldn't be sitting here today if you weren't."

[Neo]

Neo looked straight into her eyes for a long time. Finally he spoke. "I appriciate your honesty. I actually didn't expect you to answer that, I expected some bs non-answer. But you are right, I can be self-centered, destructive, and cruel. But that is because of what I've been through you can't defeate people who want to kill you by hugging them to deah. Nay, you must strike first and strike hard. Are there times I go overboard? Of course. But that's called Berserking, it happens in the heat of battle sometimes." Neo sighed. "I remember when I was a little boy, only 7 years old. My parents, my sister, and I went on vacation. Yes, I had a sister. We went to a beach much like this, and it was a beautiful day. My parents set up the picnic blanket on the shore, while my sister and I went and played in the water, built sandcastles, ran around, and stuff like that. Just as we were called back to get some lunch, a shot rang out and my sister collasped beside me. My parents ran out, grabbed me, and we ran. We didn't even get to see if she was alright. A government soldier had decided to make sure that we were kept in line, so he shot my sister randomly. Finally we were able to sneak back, but by then her body had been mutilated by the roaming packs of dogs. For the longest time I sat on that beach next to her corpse and just cried. I swore I would get revenge. And from then on I began to develop my powers. I developed my theories. I got together others who too wanted revenge for the transgressions against us. So we have fought for many years. So yea, am I cruel? Yes. But I have been shaped into being that way." Neo sat up and looked out across the rolling waves and sighed again.

Lavy shook her head. "I understand where your coming from. When someone you care for is hurt or killed you want pay back. And it is sweet, I must admit. But somehow, killing people isn't enough after a while. You need more, you need power, and you don't care what it takes to get it. You'll backstab and walk all over people you claim to love. And once you get what you want, you see that it's not really what you wanted at all. You want the idea of controlling thosands and thosands of people not actually doing it. Murder of a loved one doesn't give you the right to kill. It gives you the right to be anger and sadness, but it's not a pass to do whatever you want.And it should never be made into an excuse for hurting anyone. That's my opion I know you don't like it. But I don't care." Lavy stood up and brushed herself off. "And I'm sorry for your sister." she walked away.

[Neo]

Neo watched her go.

~Yea, I know. But she's coming from a different place than me. She couldn't possibly understand. She's never been through it~

~But you know she's right, at least in part. You know as well as I do it was the theories of power which got you through everything~
~Theories are only so good. Theories aren' worth crap if they aren't acted upon to see if they actually work. If every great thinker never acted upon their theories because they didn't want to run a risk of death, we'd still be in the Stone Age.~

~Yes, one was responsible only to himself and helped society by helping himself. The other was responsible only to himself and destroyed the socitey by helping himself~
~So what are you trying to imply? That I'm hurting people? People die in war. Sometimes in order to save the village you have to destroy it, and like a phoenix, guide its eventual rebirth. That is a concept which she will never understand, nor, it seems, will you~

Neo turned away from Lavy's diminishing form and watched the tide as it rolled in. His eyes eventually spotted two surfboards which were lying on the sand near the edge of the water, and which would eventually be pulled in and lost forever to the fury of the changing seas. "If thats that symbolic, I don't know what is" Neo said sardonically to himself. He sighed. "There goes another great day with her. Why is it that every time we seem to get close something happens to bring us even further apart than we had been before?"
