Arrival

[Chris021]

Christopher Manji looked at the school with his arms folded. His green and black sweatshirt stood out against the backround of snow. His  older brother, Darryl stood beside him, his arms also folded. At the same time, they turned to face their mother.
"Mom! Why do we have to?" They both said, not thinking.

Their mother sighed, then smiled.
"Because your father and I can't take you with us. Now come on, it's only for awhile!" She smiled and hugged her sons.
"I know starting school in the middle of the year is hard, but you guys can do it." She kissed them each on the cheek then walked down the path so she could apperate.

Darryl scowled.
"Come on Chris. The letter says we're in Ravenclaw." He pulled his bookbag up.

"You go ahead, I'm gonna look around." Cris said, sighing.

"Alright. Don't get lost dork." Darryl said to his brother, leaving.

Chris sighed again and rubbed the back of his neck.

[_Lavender_]

"The strain of starting a new school is always uncomfortable. But try not to let the strain wear at you, ay?"

Lavenders quiet, soft velvety voice drifted to the newcomer, quite a few moments, before she appeared, herself, a bit scratched up and bruised, but calm and un-foreboding just the same. She did not wear the robes of the Hogwarts student, but instead, her thin, but strong form was clad in rather casual jeans, thick leather, lace-up knee-high boots for her outdoor traveling, and a simple forest green, loose but form-fitting tank. Her long, silky raven hair was pulled up, this day, into a ponytail, her finely honed features molded to a calm look, her many shaded, dazzling moody green eyes alert, curious, and secretly, always at unrest.

She dusted some random strands of grass and flecks of mud off her thigh, stopping, bringing up her right hand to peer curiously at the gaping wound staring dully at her from across her knuckles. She gently planted what seemed a most careful of kisses upon the wound, of which became less irritated, and healed itself anew. The gash upon her knuckles had been the worst, and Lavender was in no mood to be nursing hurts, especially, for there was new company..

"Welcome to Hogwarts," said she, dropping her hand to meet the other, clasping before her.

Chris smiled slightly at her.
"Er, thanks." He looked at her, thoughtfully.

"How can you wear a tank-top when it's snowing?" He asked. Then he smiled.

"This is Lavender we're talking about anything is possiable."

[Chris021]

Chris looked around, but couldn't see anyone.
"Uh?"

[LavyBrown]

"Right here." Lavy said appereing right behind him.

[Chris021]

"Oh. Hi." He smiled at both of the girls.
"I'm Christopher Manji."

[LavyBrown]

"I'm Lavy, and that's Lavender, don't get us mixed up, there is a difference. Nice to meet you."

[Chris021]

"Nice to meet you two as well." He inclined his head as a sort of bow and smiled at the two. He felt his face flush, something that happened around pretty girls.

[LavyBrown]

:So what are you doing here at Hogwarts, changing schools for a while?"

[Chris021]

"No, this is the first year I've ever been in a school. My parents are missionaries." He smiled again, still flushing.

[LavyBrown]

"Oh, I see, cool. So I guess you move around alot and meet tons of new people." Lavy said smiling back.

[Chris021]

"Sorta. I spent more time fighting with my brother in our tent then anything else." He laughed, rubbing the back of his neck again.

[LavyBrown]

"You'll fit right in then."

[Chris021]

"Um, thanks. I think." He laughed again, still flushing.
