It's not impossible that someone from Bloomsbury leaked out the story, but if that were true there'd be a big fuss on the news. So I think what you read was just a hoax.

the book says that dudley is a wizard too but her mom(aunt petunia) keeps him away from the wizarding world as she makes a deal with dumbledore when he asks her to keep harry potter
now in the seventh e-book i read syas that dudleys parents are terrified taht he is acting wierd just like harry did before going to hogwarts
the ending says ......

  and there was a expresion of shock on there faces(that certainly means summon useda killing curse on them
and there son was never seen there again. a neibour was heard saying that he saw dudley dursely aroung the house on there death"

I think its just a load of rubbish.if the story had been real or the thing would have been leaked by some bloomsbury member then there would have been cases filed against him or her.Its just a publicity stunt.
