Alice looked down at Seth`s hand for a moment before laying down beside him, her head on his chest.
"Don`t you think I can take care of myself? Why could you protect me from? If it`s the onslaught of emmotions, I`m used to it by now." She argued in soft and neutral voice.

[Sky]

"Of course you can take care of yourself. But its a guy's natural instinct to wanna protect the girl. I don't know what from." He said as he ran his fingers through her hair.

Alice closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"I`m sorry. I`m being kind of... vampish."

[Sky]

Seth merely sighed, closing his eyes. Being vampish? Is that what it was called? What exactly did it mean to be vampish.

"Controlling. Demanding. Ruling. Old."

Alice spoke softly, hearing the question in his mind. Honestly, how could you not be tired of me? She pushed the thought into his mind.

"Sometimes you piss me off, but I never get tired of you." Seth said, hearing the thought.

Alice couldn`t help but smile a little.
"I wondered why you never vocally told me how you felt. I could feel that you were mad at me, but you never told me. Why?" She asked now, opening her eyes.

Seth shrugged his shoulders, eyes still closed.

"I dunno. I guess I didn't want to make you feel bad."

He opened his eyes and saw a group of birds flying in a V shape., migrating.

Alice slowly turned and leaned up so that her elbow supported her upper body and she was facing Seth.

"I can feel what you feel, I can hear what you think. Do you really think that it makes me feel better when you don`t tell me?" Her large eyes locked on his, glowing in the weak sunlight.

"I guess not." Seth mumbled, not wanting to admit it. "I'm sorry."

Alice tilted her head, listening to his heartbeat and the edges of his thoughts. She was quiet for a moment, then leaned forward and put her head on his chest again right over his heart. She made her breathing match his, her heart pounding with the same rythym, just artificial.

"Look at us. We used to be so happy together. Now we bicker over everything, it seems. I am sorry, Seth. I truely do love you, and I really do hope that you feel the same. And from now on if I ever upset you, I want you to tell me. You have no idea how much you mean to me, and I don`t want you to ever be mad at me."

Seth watched her, listening to her breathe. He felt bad. He had been such a jerk to her about changing, constantly trying to force her into something she wasn't ready for. "Alright." He said quietly.

Alice lifted her head and stared down into his eyes.
"You know what I love about you? You`re not afraid to be yourself, but you never hurt anyone. You`re so peaceful." She ran her fingers through his soft hair.

Seth grinned. "Thank you. That's the nicest thing I've ever been told." His eyes stared into hers and he got that weird feeling in his stomach again. Like things were back on track, in rhythm.

Alice also felt that feeling. It felt like something had finally clicked into place.
