Sky

Sky felt her Gryffindor qualities kick in and stepped out of the doorway, Jake still growling. The brown fur on his back stood straight up.

"Good boy." Sky whispered. "You gonna be a protector too?"  She lifted her wand, ready to shoot off a spell at any given moment.

Jason stepped in front of Sky, motioning fo rher to stay back. He met her eyes and nodded slowly and raised a finger to his lips. Silently he made his way down the stairs and stepped over Jake.

He pressed his back against one wall, wand ready, and stepped around the corner. There was a figure there, covered by a long cloak. His wand was up, like he was waiting for something to pop out. He moved through the room like he was looking for something.

"Expelliarmus. Impedimenta." The figure`s wand flew from its hand and they turned around, growling. It was a man, and he froze to the spot, a frown on his face.

"What should we do with him?"
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"
FOREVER WILL NEVER BE LONG ENOUGH.
"And now I understand a phrase I once thought odd;
I guess to love another person is to see the face of God."

Sky

Sky followed Jason down the steps and saw the wand of the figure fly out of his hand. He turned to them and frowned.

"What should we do with him?"

But Sky didn't answer. She had been hit with a spell that caused her to fly back into the wall, her wand falling to the ground. She hit the ground and groaned in pain.

"Dang." She muttered under her breath. "Where...the heck..did that come from?"

"Incarcerous!" Jason shouted, pointing his wand towards another figure There was a grunt, then a yelp as whoever had thrown the curse at Sky was tied up with magical ropes.

"Are you okay?" He asked, crouching beside Sky with his back to the wall and his wand out. He helped her up and cast a circle around them with his wand.
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"
FOREVER WILL NEVER BE LONG ENOUGH.
"And now I understand a phrase I once thought odd;
I guess to love another person is to see the face of God."

Sky

"I'm..fine." Sky said as she stood up. "Why are we being ambushed?" She approached the first man and brought her wand to his throat.

"Why are you here?" She said. "Who sent you?"

"Someone here violated the Dark Mark, I am here to honor the Dark Lord as he would have wanted us to." The man hissed, his small eyes glaring at her. His eyes and his mouth were the only things he could move. He was frozen in a half crouch like he was turning around, which he had been.

"What should we do with them? We can`t kill; if by magic the Ministry will know, if by hand the other Death Eaters will know." The large man looked at him and he stared back.

"You are the one. You are the traitor. You`ve betrayed us all to the Order! You deserve to die in the name of the Dark Lord!" He shouted.
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"
FOREVER WILL NEVER BE LONG ENOUGH.
"And now I understand a phrase I once thought odd;
I guess to love another person is to see the face of God."

Sky

Sky froze, her gray eyes wide with fear. She put down her wand and turned to look at Jason before looking back at him. The men spoke of killing. And they were certainly stronger than she was. Well, she didn't know their magical talents, but with physical strength, she was pretty much done for.

"I'm the one who violated the Mark." She said quietly. She revealed the burn on her left arm where her Mark used to be. The man gasped.

"You used to be with us. But you left. How did you erase the mark!?" The other one looks at Sky's arm too, his eyebrows rising. Sky didn't say anything. She looked away.

"You are the one. You are the traitor. You`ve betrayed us all to the Order! You deserve to die in the name of the Dark Lord!" He shouted.

((Oh snap. I sure twisted that around. =P))

Jason turned around to face Sky, his eyes wide.

"Don`t." He whispered, shaking his head. He turned back to the men, moving so he was between them and Sky. "I was the one who asked her to remove the Mark. Other than trying to help me, she had nothing to do with this." He said to the bigger man, his eyes narrowing. Slowly he pushed up his sleeve, revealing his Dark Mark.

"See, it`s still there. And what did you expect me to do? I spy for you. I bring you information from the other side. If people start asking questions and want some proof, what do you think they`re going to do when they see this on my arm?" He took a half step forward, still in front of Sky. "People were getting curious. I had to do something."

The two men looked at each other with confused glances, and the smaller one shrugged.
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"
FOREVER WILL NEVER BE LONG ENOUGH.
"And now I understand a phrase I once thought odd;
I guess to love another person is to see the face of God."

Sky

Sky's eyes darted to Jason and couldn't help but let a gasp escape her lips.

He was still a spy?

She bit her lip as she turned her head away. She didn't even know how to feel.

((Shortness. =/))

((Uh, dur.))

Jason stiffened, hearing Sky`s gasp. He stood there for a moment, trying to think his way out of the situation. He had lied to them; he was an excellent lier. Even Voldemort hadn`t known that he was being lied to. Jason had lied to the Death eaters since he became one of them, there were just very few people who knew it. The fewer who knew the fewer could tell. He hadn`t realized Sky couldn`t guess that he was done with being a bad guy.

"You guys can go now, okay? We haven`t done anything wrong, and you know I don`t have any information for you." The two men nodded and the ropes fell away from them. They stood and stretched, eyeing Jason and Sky warily.

"Okay, but we`ll be keeping an eye on you." The small one said. He nodded to himself and stepped towards the big guy. The turned to each other and nodded in unison. Before they could Apparate away, knives were magically thrust into their chests.
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"

Sky

((I'm tireddddddd....))

Before Sky could breathe that little sigh of relief when she realized the men were leaving, blood had spattered the walls, crimson red on eggshell white.  Where did the knives come from? She didn't know what to do, but she hurried to the men to see if they were alive. The small one was dead, the knive causing an almost immediate fatality while the other was left gasping and writhing on the floor was blood oozing from his chest. Sky looked to Jason, as if she were pleading with him to give her an answer. But he probably knew as little as she did.

The day had gone so well. This was possibly the greatest day of her life, until these men arrived. Why did danger have to follow her like this? Sky clinched her wand tighter in her hand.

Jason watched the two men fall to the ground with a plain face, no emotion showing.

"Sky," He said softly, his voice hoarse, "Sky just leave them alone. They`ll go away in a minute." He instantly regretted killing the two men, from Sky`s reaction, but he couldn`t let them go. They would have raised too much suspicion, and he couldn`t have that. The Death Eaters were already questioning where his loyalty rested, he could have them asking more questions.

Jason moved away from Sky until his back was pressed against the opposite wall. He waved his hand and the two bodies disappeared, along with all of the blood. There was no sign of any struggle or anything.

"I`m sorry." He sighed.
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"

Sky

Sky stared at the spot where the bodies were. She could still see their faces, the blood, the pain. She thought she could handle it. She knew what Jason had done before. She knew his history. But seeing it happen right before her eyes was like reliving the day her Mother and Father died. She heard him speaking, his hoarse voice, him saying sorry. She looked at him with her big eyes, watery and dark, then got up and ran off, to get outside.

Jason clenched his teeth together, his eyes watering, and slid down to the floor. Sky had looked so hurt, and her expression was burned into his memory. It made him so sad to be have to see that, but to know that he had caused her pain made it even worse. After a few long minutes he stood and conjured a notepad and pen. He scribbled out a note and folded it; he wrote Sky`s name on the outside of it and put it on the couch.

His bags were still by the door. He got them and a moment later he disappeared.

((If you want, you can have Sky go in and open the note and I`ll just post what it said.))

Sky

Sky had finally gained her composure ten minutes later. She had found a way outside, even through the part of her house that had been wrecked by careless magic. She had walked around the neighborhood, silently crying to herself. She hadn't cried like that in so long. The pain of being an orphan had been numbed for some time now. But now the memory of Sky's parents had been reawakened in a way. Sure, it would pass, but it was overwhelming. She wiped her eyes on her sleeve and decided to go back.

When she came back up the walkway, she saw what sort of damage had been done. Windows were shattered, the siding on some parts had been split and torn off, the house was singed. But that didn't matter to her right now. She needed to see Jason. Sky entered the house and went upstairs, but didn't find him. She called for him, but there was no answer. Finally, as she felt a feeling of panic in her stomach, she found a note, carefully folded and set so she could see it. With her name in his handwriting on the outside.

She reached for it and, already preparing herself for the worst, unfolded it and began to read.
