How It All Began

This is my first shot at a fan fic so be nice to me!! Reviews are neede for me to live!!

Summary: Lily Evans is in her seventh year at Hogwarts. She has been made Head Girl, and life is great. Wait a second. Is that Lupin moving next door? Oh great........
May appear a Remus/Lily story. It's not.

Chapter One: How She Became The Girl Next Door

Lily Evans stood in front of her mirror. She was wearing a a black and white plaid mini-skirt, a white t-shirt, and black flip-flops. Smiling, she grabbed her beach towel and walked out the door. Her parents were taking her, her older sister, Lily's two best friends, and the family dog Canon, to the beach.
   
Downstairs Petunia was eating cereal. "Wow, Lily. You look amazing." She sneered. Petunia was wearing a shorter skirt, a tighter tube-top, and heeled flip-flops. "Wow Petunia, you look like a hag." Even Mrs.Evans smiled before saying, "Stop it you two. Both of you look amazing and wonderful. Well, not as good as me."

She was right. Mrs. Evans was thirty-five years old, and she looked twenty. A year over Petunia. Not to mention she had the body of a model. "Lily, could you take this for me?" Her mother handed Lily a pie. Lily arched her eyebrows. "What's this for?" She asked her mother. Petunia sighed. "The hottie next door. Somebody just bought the house. God, he's gorgous. So are his friends." She pouted.
   
"But they look a bit young. Maybe if you payed them enough, Lily, one of them would go out with you." Lily mock smiled. "So, you want me to take this to them?" She asked her mother. Mrs. Evans nodded. "If you would. And maybe you could stay and get to know the boys." At that moment two girls appeared behind Mrs. Evans.

Sarah Winkle and Michele Timen were cousins. But totally different. Sarah had long black hair with blue lowlights that reached to the bottum of her back. Her eyes were deep chocolate brown, and her skin was pale. "Hello Lily!" She said, running to give her a hug. Michele had honey blonde hair that reached to her elbow. Her eyes were an almost clear color of blue, and her skin was almost tan. She stayed in the background until Lily ran over to her. "Hey Mickey!!"

The girls all smiled until Mrs. Evans said, "Um, Lily, the pie." Lily sighed. "Come on you guys. We have to take this to the new neighbors." She grabbed the pie off the counter and walked out with the other girls. Lily rang the doorbell and a tall woman answered. "Yes?" She asked. "Um, my name's Lily Evans, and these are my friends Sarah and Michele. I live next door, and my mom thought I should bring this over." She hamded the woman the pie.

"Oh, thank you very much. Come sit down, sit down." Lily and the girls followed her in and sat down on the couch. "My name is Mrs. Lupin, but you can call me Jenniffer." Lily arched her eyebrows at the last name. "Remus, James, Sirius!! Come down here, we have company!!" The three boys came bounding down the stairs and all six kids went stiff.

"Mom, um, this is Lily Evans, Sarah Winkle and Mickey Timen. They all go to Hogwarts with us." Remus said, a grin sneaking onto his face. Lily stood up. "We should be going." The other girls stood up, but James came over to them. "No, no. I want to know why Ms. Lily is here." Mickey grinned. Sarah walked over to him. "None of your business." Mrs. Lupin, who was clueless, said, "Oh, Lily lives next door."

James and Sirius laughed, and Remus clapped. A knock came at the door. It was Mrs. Evans. "Lily, I'm sorry but your father just called. The car can't be fixed till tomorrow. We can't go to the beach." Lily walked over to the door. "I should go home. Um, I have to mourne over the loss of my, uhh, car." She walked out, and the other girls followed her. "I hate my life." Lily said.

Chapter Two: The Neighborhood Pool

Lily ran up to her room. "Why?! Why?! Why me?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?" She jumped down onto her bed and screamed into her pillow. Mickey came over to her and rubbed her back. "Oh, Lily. It's not that bad. It's only Remus, and the other two will leave soon." Her voice was quiet and soothing, a mother voice through a seventeen year old. Lily sat up.

Sarah was standing in the corner. She was smiling at Lily, but seemed more off in her own world. "I could beat them up?" She offered. Lily grinned. "Sounds great, but I don't want them to only taste death." Mickey sighed, but she smiled. "Hey, why don't we go down to the pool? It should be pretty empty. Not alot of people are still having summer. You know, the muggles." Lily looked at her. "But it's Saturday."

Sarah came over to her. "Well, the more boys the better. We can flirt with some locals and make James die with jealousy." Lily got up immediatly. "What are you guys waiting for? Let's go!!" Smiling, the others followed her.

"Mom! We're going to the pool!!" Lily yelled. "Good!! Why don't you show the boys next door where it is?" Lily froze. "Why?" Her mom poked her head out of the kitchen. "Now, Lily." Fuming, Lily and her friends left the house. She walked next door and Remus answered it. "Hey Lily. What's up?" He asked. Lily sighed.

"Do you want to go to the pool with us?" She asked, not looking at him. He smiled. "Hold on. Guys!! Do you wanna go swimming with the girls?" James and Sirius came zooming towards the door. "YEAH!!" All six walked out of the house, and headed down the street. James snuck up behind Lily, Sirius behind Sarah, and Remus behind Michele. Each boy lifted the girl on their shoulders.

Lily threw a holy fit and kicked James, but he didn't let her down. Sarah sneered. "Can't keep your hands off me. Huh, Black?" Which made Sirius blush. Mickey looked down at Remus and grinned. She didn't say anything, and he kept her on him.

Once they reached the pool, the guys plan was revealed. They each threw a girl in the pool, before jumping in themsleves. Lily came up and swam away from the boys. Sarah started spalshing them and yelling about stupid boys. Mickey stayed under. For a long time..........

Chapter Three: The E.R

Lily sat in the waiting room of the E.R. Next to her were James and Sirius. Remus was leaning over the wall, his mother talking to him. A little ways down was Sarah and her mother, father, and brother. Sarah was vissibly crying and Lily was almost certain Remus was too.

Lily looked up at the door infront of her. Room 207, the room Michele was in. Quiet, sweet, lovable Mickey. She had been under for almost thirteen minutes before Remus saved her. She was almost dead, almost dead, almost dead. Lily turned away and closed her eyes. She felt an arm wrap around her shoulders. James' arm.

She was too upset to fight. Lily hid her head in his chest and cried. How long she cried, Lily wasn't sure. When she backed away, Lily stood up. "I'm going to the cafeteria." She whispered to James and Sirius. They didn't follow, just nodded. As she walked away, Lily saw Remus follow her.

Once they had rounded the corner, he grabbed her hand. Lily looked at him, and felt a tug at her heart. His eyes were red and puffy, he looked like he was about to cry again. And he did. Remus pulled Lily into a hug. "She can't die. She just can't die." He whispered as he clung to her for strength.

Lily patted him on the back. "She won't die. Michele is strong, she'll be okay." Remus pulled away. "Are you sure?" Lily nodded. "I promise." They walked hand in hand to the cafeteria.

Half way through drinking a cup of coffee, Sarah, followed by Sirius and James, came bounding in. "She's okay!! The doctors said she's gonna be okay!!!!" Lily got up and Sarah grabbed her. "She's gonna be okay Lily. Really, my couisn won't die." Tears of joy ran like ocean water down her face.

Next to the girls, James and Sirius stood protectively over Remus. He came forward and hugged Sarah. "Thank God. Oh, Jesus, thank God." He broke apart and grabbed Lily. "You were right. She's okay." When Lily stopped hugging him she saw something that made her freeze.

Sarah was hugging Sirius, and he was holding her up. They were, uh,....kissing. No. They were french-kissing. No. They were playing tonsill hockey. Remus was walking away and James smiled at Lily. She hugged him. When they broke apart everybody followed Remus back to room 207.

Mrs. Lupin had gone and the Winkles were in the room with Mickey. Sarah walked inside and everybody else sat down. Ten or fifteen minutes later she stuck her head out. "You guys can come in now." Lily stood up and entered after Remus. Michele was sitting up in her bed smiling as always.

Sirius smiled at her. "When do you get to go home?" Michele was looking at Remus, but turned to Sirius. "Today. I'm fine now. Nothing the matter." Lily let out a long breath. "Well, where are your parents?" Mickey sighed. "They couldn't come. They're in Ugonda doing a chemical report."

James laughed. "My parents are on the same trip. Weird." A nurse with a short white dress on and very curvy curves walked in. "Alright Ms. Timen. You seem fine. You can just get dressed then you can go home." Mrs. Winkle smiled. "We'll take you to Lily's house." She turned to the boys. "We're taking you guys to Remus' house too. Now, leave so she can change."

Remus, Sirius, and James walked out and Mickey stood up. She put her dark jeans and big t-shirt on slowly. The girls and Mr. Winkle walked out. "Okay you guys, let's go." They walked out of the hospital and inot the parking garage. "Everybody wait here. I'll get the car." Mr. Winkle said.

Sirius had his arms around Sarah's shoulders. He kissed her forhead. Remus was holding Michele's hand. James came over to Lily. "You wanna hold my hand, or should I kiss you?" He asked, so the others wouldn't hear. "Drop dead." She answered, letting him wrap his arm around her waist. She was too shaken to fight.

Chapter Four: Prolouge To A Night Out

Lily, Sarah and Michele trodged upstairs. They were tired and needed a good rest. As they made their way up Petunia stuck her head out and looked at Mickey. After staring at her, Petunia poked back inside. "It's her turtle shell." Lily said, eyebrows arched. Mickey sighed and Sarah just shrugged her shoulders.

Inside the room, Lily and Mickey ran to the bed. "I'm so tired." Lily groaned. Sarah sat down on a large bean-bag. Sarah refused to sleep on beds. Michele knew why, but refused to tell anybody. 'Bunch of refusers.' Lily thought edging under the covers with Mickey.

Suddenly, the bedroom door opened and Lily's older brother stepped in. "Hello, Micheal." Lily groaned. He nodded at her and said. "Um, some friends of mine are going out tonight. We have some unexpected guests, and are short three girls. Wanna come?"

Like magic, the girls were full of energy. "Will be out in a sec!!" Sarah called as Lily and Mickey pushed Micheal out the door. Running into her walk-in closet Lily disapeared. Mickey and Sarah grabbed their suitcases and Sarah went to change in the bathroom.

When Lily looked in the mirror, this is what she saw: Her denim skirt was ripped at he edges and ended about three inches above the knee. Her top was a funky green halter with sparkles on it, and it hung loosely. She had decided on some matching green chunky heels that gave her a two inch lift. She left her hair down and it covered her body to the small of her back. She was only wearing clear lip-gloss and a tinge of silver eyeshadow.

When Mickey looked in the mirror, this is what she saw: She had choosen a black and red plaid skirt with a silver chain, that ended only a bit higher than Lily's. Her top was a black tupe-top, with red stars than lined it, not to mention the top hugged her in all the right places. After some deliberation she had picked out a pair of small red heels that were made for dancing, but barely gave her small form any lift. Her hair was up in a side ponytail held by a black holder. She wore only silver body glitter, no make-up.

When Sarah looked in the mirror, this is what she saw: Her bottums were a pair of faded jeans, that had rips on each knee. That little top was considered a bikini top among most and was a bright blue, the same as her lowlights. The top allowed her skull belly-button ring to show. Her shoes were black knee boots, that lifted her, already tall, form about three inches. Her long black and blue hair was up in a loose pony-tail. Her lips were covered in bright blue lip-stick and she wore only a dab of black eyeshadow.

Each girl smiled at her appearance and walked out the door. The walked down the stairs, complimenting eachother, and their heels clunking as they went. "Lily, that top is so cool." Sarah squelled. "Mickey, that skirt is way awesome." Lily said evious. "Oh God Sarah, I could never pull off such a cool look. But you so rock it!" Michele gawked.

As the girls walked down into the living room, they stopped dead. "Oh." Sarah whispered. "Whoa." Michele whispered. Lily was speechless. In their living room, sitting among Micheal's friends, were the three hottest boys they had ever seen. :o :-*

"Clean up nice, don't I Lil?" James Potter asked. He was wearing jeans, silver quiditch shoes, and a falmouth falcons teeshirt. His hair was just as wild as ever. Sirius laughed and winked at Sarah. He was wearing black denim pants, white sneakers, and a white muscle shirt. His hair was gelled to the sides. Remus grinned as he took in the girls. He was wearing beige cotton pants, black tennis shoes, and loose black shirt. His hair was spiked a bit.

"Suppose you look alright as well." James added, not moving his eyes away from Lily's skirt. Well, what the skirt didn't cover. Which was more than he had ever seen. The others were doing the same. Although, it was Sarah's belly-button ring Sirius seemed to like. "Come on." Ryan, Micheal's best friend, said, leading them out the door.
