Ok, let's take this step by step. First, I assume you're using windows. I can't help if you're using a Mac.

First, right-click any empty area on your desktop.
Pick "Properties", which will probably be the last choice.
On the new window that comes up, click the "Settings" tab, near the top of the window.
Look for a bunch of numbers, something like "640 by 480", "800 by 600" or "1024 by 768" (it can be any other number... All I'm saying is look for that)
Either above or below the number, there should be a slider. Take note of the position of the slider (is it all the way to the left, all the way to the right, or somewhere in between?)

When you're done checking, reply here with the bunch of numbers ("640 by 480" or something), as well as the position of the slider.
