Alice slowly stood up and walked over to Seth, stopping when she was about a foot behind him. "I know. I`ve been thinking about that too. But I promise you, I will not kill you, ever." Her voice was quiet.
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"
FOREVER WILL NEVER BE LONG ENOUGH.
"And now I understand a phrase I once thought odd;
I guess to love another person is to see the face of God."

Seth Lockhart

"I'm not afraid of that. But I'm afraid of our differences." He said quietly.

Why did it bother him like this?

Alice looked down to the stone floor. "I know. But when you think about it, we really aren`t that different." She said, not really liking the way she though the conversation was going.
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"
FOREVER WILL NEVER BE LONG ENOUGH.
"And now I understand a phrase I once thought odd;
I guess to love another person is to see the face of God."

Seth Lockhart

Seth turned around to face her, but couldn't look at her.

Alice kept her eye locked on the cold floor. She didn`t know what to say, what would happen. She wanted the opposite of what she thought was happening, but she didn`t know what to do. Even someone over two centuries old didn`t know what to do sometimes.
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"
FOREVER WILL NEVER BE LONG ENOUGH.
"And now I understand a phrase I once thought odd;
I guess to love another person is to see the face of God."

Seth put his hand gently on her cheek, her cold mixing with his warmth.
Yet his eyes still looked away. He didn't know what to think...

Alice put one hand over Seth`s and the other on his cheek. She gently turned his face so he had to look at her. Her eyes were kind and soft. "Say what you need to say." She said softly.
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"
FOREVER WILL NEVER BE LONG ENOUGH.
"And now I understand a phrase I once thought odd;
I guess to love another person is to see the face of God."

Seth Lockhart

He wrapped his muscular arms around her, gently pulling her into a warm embrace.

Alice let him embrace her, but something didn`t feel right. She sighed mentally, wishing Seth would just say what he had on his mind.
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"
FOREVER WILL NEVER BE LONG ENOUGH.
"And now I understand a phrase I once thought odd;
I guess to love another person is to see the face of God."

Seth Lockhart

"I just don't want our differences ruin what we have." He said. "I just want to be sure that your alright with this."

Alice exhaled with relief. ""Don`t worry about out differences." She replied quietly.
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"

He smiled, feeling better about their relationship. He pulled away, still holding her, and kissed her forehead ever so softly.

Alice smiled and her eyes twinkled. "Thank you." She whispered.

"And now I understand a phrase I once thought odd;

He let her go and turned to the window again.

Alice tilted her head at Seth. She took a step forward to stand beside him at the window. The sunlight coming in that hit her skin made her slightly uncomfortable, but she stood there. "What`s wrong?" She asked. Something in the air was off; it was too tense or something.
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"
