The night was going to be nice. The sky would be cloudless, and the stars would be bright against the moon that would only be a sliver. Stacey tried to think about that calming thought as she walked out to the forest. She loved the night. It was one of her favorite things, and almsot like a treasure. The night seemed so private and made you feel alone.

Not this night.

No, Stacey was headed into a forest to meet Avalee. This would be the first time she saw her since she had been told what happened. Stacey was not happy about it, either. She would have rather just ignored her for the rest of time, but things couldn`t work out that way. Her eyes were a vibrant red as she hit the trees. The sky turned a purple-ish pink as she walked. It would be dark soon, and stacey would meet Avalee in the second largest clearing in the forest.

She was fully armed. Eighteen knives total on her body, not including her vast and deadly powers. She had been practicing before this, as she did almost every night when she got a chance. They would be close enough to the school for her to still be able to have support from the teachers and students. She would aslo be able to read Avalee`s mind.

She sighed heavily under her breath. This was going to be bad.

Avalee strolled into the clearing. She was in in a depressed mood as she had been fo a while. She was going to be friendly, she wasn't looking for a fight. She slightly smiled at Stacey. Avalee walked barefoot, wearing a knee legnth grey longsleve dress, she was always cold. She tipped her head slightly to Stacey in greating.

Stacey nodded in reply. Her long-sleeved dark grey shirt hid her knives. She didn`t have to worry about being too warm or too hot, she could always add or take away heat with her powers. It wasn`t that hard.

It was nice to be powerfull.

"Avalee." She greeted from her post aginst a tree on the other side of the clearing.

She took a deep breath.
"Hello Stacey."
She waited for her to talk. Avalee didn't  want to start the conversation. She didn't come here for a fight, if Stacey wanted to hurt her, Avalee would let her, or run. She didn't care. She was torn up inside, and it didn't feel like she was healing.

Stacey sighed softly. She just couldn`t be mad at someone like that. She couldn`t be mad at someone who was mentally and physically depressed. That fact was going to make this harder. Stacey wasn`t that mean.

"Avalee, how much do you know about me?" She asked finally, walking towards the girl and sitting down a couple yards from her.

She smiled her fake smile that she wore for Vivian and Heather, she hid behind it. "Not enough." She said simply, she was nervous about why Stacey had asked this question.

Stacey looked at Avalee, her gaze questioning yet knowing.

"I fell in love with someone when I was thirteen. He was a nice guy. He was a werewolf. He stopped changning because of me.  He aparantly loved me, too. When I was fourteen, he moved to Romania without telling me. I got a letter a month later telling me that he had found someone else in his new home." she paused. She still hadn`t forgiven Niles for leaving.

"It tore me apart. I was catatonic for months. I went through motions, just like you are, but had no feeling behind them. I was just a living corpse. I did nothing, I felt nothing except pain.

Then I met Nate. He comforted me, made me feel again. I did love him, and it was different than my love for Niles. It was physical as well as mental. He was like the sun after and endless night. And one afternoon I met Aiden. I think you know the story from there?" She asked, looking at the ground.

Why was she telling her this?! Her eyes filled with tears. She fell to her knees. "What I did was wrong. And I'm sorry!" She said. She let herself break down for a moment. She was so tired of lie she had been living, she realized she must be looking pathetic.

Stacey watched as Avalee cried.

"Avalee, I`m not really mad at you for kissing Aiden. He kissed you back, and you kissed each other. Yeah, that hurts a bit, but the same thing happened to me. I had to go through the same thing. I can`t blame you for suddenly finding an interest in Aiden." She paused again.

"You will get over what happened. You will find someone new that absolutely takes your breath away when they just look at you. There will be someone that is made just for you." She waited a moment to see how she would react. "I believe that Aiden is the one that was made for me. Everyone else seems to think so, too. We seem rotated around each other."

She looked up at Stacey, she was the firm hand she needed, the tears left her eyes. All of her friends had just been comforting her, she needed a realistic perspective. She understood Stacey so much better now. And she understood herself. And she understood Aiden.

Stacey waited a moment before she went on.
"It probably feels like your life has ended, hasn`t it?" She asked softly. "It feels like the world is coming down around you and everything that was improtant has just walked away. Doesn`t it?" She asked. Real pain showed in her voice and in her eyes, which had slowly gone to black.

She nodded. Looking down at her too skinny body. She thought of everything that had happened. She just wanted to be happy.

Stacey turned her head away so Avalee wouldn`t see the tears that had spiked up into her dark eyes. Thankfully, when she spoke her voice was steady.

"Everything feels numb, like you had a long fall and you`re hurt, but you can`t tell where. Everything will get better, though. Someone comes. Someone always does." She shook her head, closing her eyes. "Then you can feel again, and everything is thrown into perspective." She shokk her head again and stood up and walked a few steps away, so her back was to Avalee.

She shook her head not wanting to have to wait. She had thought of suicide, but she couldn't do that to her family and friends. She didn't even know how Aiden would react.
