Hey everyone! I just signed up here, and thought I'd post a story. It was meant to be a short story but after a year I decided to continue it. Well, hope you read it and enjoy it, and if it isn't too much trouble, to leave me a quick message. I'd love to see what you guys think. Thanks so much!  ;)

*note: Cedric is ALIVE!!

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry or any other characters, blah blah. They belong to the wonderful JK Rowling!

Harry and Ron were standing and watching the couples dance, and Ron sighed dramatically.

"Where'd your date go?" asked Harry.

"She's somewhere goggling over Cedric Diggory. Yep, there she is," said Ron, noticing the girls almost falling into a dreamy haze just looking at him.

"Seems like my date is gone too," said Harry with a small smile.

"But hey, at least I told Lavender I liked her. This is the last year at Hogwarts. Seize the moment," said Ron with a small smile.

"Seize the moment, eh?" said Harry with a smirk.

"Yes! You never know what could happen, Harry. This is our last year. Like I said, do something you thought you could never do. Seize the moment," he said. Harry nodded, and walked away, seeing Hermione alone.

"I'll take that advice," he said, walking through the crowd.

Hermione sighed as she looked at her date, Victor Krum, went talking to his fellow Quidditch players. He said he would be back in a few moments, but a few moments turned out to be more than a half hour. And now the Ball was over.

"Bugger," she muttered. She now hated quidditch players. Except for Harry. Harry was an exception.

<Speaking of Harry, where is he?> she wondered. When she looked to her side, she saw that he was coming towards her.

"Why so glum, Hermione?" he asked.

"My date just went up the creek," she moaned. He patted her shoulder sympathetically.

"Wanna go for a walk?" he asked. She nodded.

"Yeah, I guess." As they walked, she seemed to get more depressed. She dressed up for nothing! She wanted to dance!

"Hermione, don't worry, there'll be other dances," he said. She nodded but sighed.

"But I wanted to dance!"

"Well, then, dance with me," he said.

"But there's no music....there has to be music. That is like the essence with dancing." He rolled his eyes and he held her and they danced.

"All right then, I'll sing for you." Hermione gulped.

"O-o-o-okay," she said. He hummed the tune of  " Change the World" by Eric Clapton. Uncle Vernon always played that song, and that was the only nice slow tune he could think up at the moment. Then he twirled her and dipped her. She went into a fit of giggles as he almost dropped her trying to bring her back up.

"You are wonderful at dancing," she said, trying not to smirk. He shrugged and played along.

"It's in my blood, what can I say." They still danced, and Harry noticed a change with Hermione. He now didn't see her as the bookworm friend, always helping them with work, but he saw her as a beautiful woman. They were both now in the seventh year at Hogwarts, and he knew that she had not changed at all, but he never took the time to see how great she was.

"You know, you look beautiful," he said. Hermione blushed.

"Thanks," she said quietly. Harry grinned. When they stopped dancing, Harry still held her hand, while Hermione just looked at him. Then he smiled nervously and let go of her hand.

"Sorry," he mumbled. She gave another nervous smile.

"Well, I'd better be heading back," she said.

"Yeah, me too," he said. Something told him to go after her.

"Uh, wait Hermione." She turned around and looked at Harry with a smile.

"Yes, Harry?" she asked.

"Let's walk together."

"All right." And soon after they got to the dormitories, Harry walked with her to the girls' dormitory door.

"Well, this is where I leave," he said with slight nervousness. Hermione nodded.

"Goodnight Harry, good luck with the game tomorrow," she said. She was just about to close the door when Harry put his foot between the door.

"Wait, Hermione!"

"Yeah?" she asked, quite curious what he wanted to say. He grabbed her and kissed her fiercely. She was surprised at first, but kissed back.

"What was that for?" she asked.

"Because I have seen something in you I haven't seen before. I was just too stupid to not notice," he said, stroking her face.

"Goodnight, Hermione."

"G'night." Hermione giggled and went to sleep, thinking about that wonderful kiss that Harry gave her.

Harry walked in with a huge grin on his face, and Ron was in bed, noticing Harry's grin before he fell asleep.

"Why are you such in a good mood?" he asked. Harry grinned yet again, and replied before shutting off the light and pulling up the covers, " I seized the moment."
