Nothing had changed, kissing him awoke feelings she hadn't had in three years. Electricity revved up between them, warming their skin and giving them goose bumps at the same time. Ginny shivered, never wanting the kiss to end, but knowing it had to. Still, she closed her eyes in the bliss that was their kiss.
-I'm scared, Xaver.- She told him truthfully. What if he left again?
-I've never been more scared, nor more sure in my life.- He answered, before he pulled back slightly. Ginny opened her eyes, her arms still around him. He smiled at her then.
   "We have... a son."
Ginny nodded and smiled, "Yes. He's three years old, or thereabouts. Your son through and through. A smart aleck...powerful...a genius. I love him more than anything." She paused, looking him in the eyes, "He's what kept me alive when I gave up hope." She looked away then.
Xaver chuckled lowly, "The smart aleck, and perhaps the power...and the wings...might just come from me. But I doubt I passed on a genius gene. That was all you, love." He winked at her, kissing her forehead lightly before he tilted his own head to meet her eyes again.
"Three years old....I've missed so much." He said sadly.
"But...you don't have to miss more." Ginny said, softly, struggling with her words. Now that Xaver was back, would he stay? Or would he back out at the idea of this sudden new responsibility? It was his choice, and no matter what he chose, Ginny would accept it. But she desperately didn't want him to go.

Xaver was silent, and Ginny could swear her heart could be heard throughout the room. A loud thumping noise that was distracting and scary. She swallowed, squeezing her eyes shut in the silence, anxiety creeping in.
'What if he leaves? What if he leaves? What if he leaves? I can't bear it...' Ginny thought quickly, half ready to say something as Xaver's finger hooked under her chin, lifting her head and meeting her eyes. Suddenly, her heart, her thoughts, everything went from ultra loud to silent.
"If you will allow it..." Xaver began, the traces of a smile on his lips, though not quiet evident, "I will remain with you. With you both. And love you, like I have been dreaming of doing not only for the last three years--but since that first time I saw you, and your pretty face in the forest at Hogwarts all those years ago..."
He paused, and Ginny felt her heart stop. Again. His eyes moved over hers and any words she might have said were gone as he continued, "I almost blurted it the last day I say you, and it took me by such surprise I almost seized up...But now?..."
Xaver's finger left her chin, his hand cupping the side of her face for a moment before it fell away, grasping her own hand and squeezing gently, "If there's anything I've learned, while I've been away – it's that there's nothing truly like what I feel.. when I'm with you. I love you, Ginny. And I have never known that so strongly..."
He paused, seemingly to gather himself.
"Would you be mine, love? Would you marry me?"

At his question, Ginny's mouth fell open and for the second time that day she was at loss for words. A rare occurrence for the girl who used words as her weapon when she had none. His eyes traveled to his, inspecting them and their truthfulness. She had not only herself to think of, but also her son.
"Xaver, are you an idiot?" She asked, incredulous, "Of course I'll marry you!"

A week passed, and out of habit, Ginny, Cody, and Xaver stayed at the Burrow. Mainly because she had promised her parents some time with Cody. Nonetheless, she still took him almost everywhere with her. This day was no exception, even though it was extremely cold and a light snow was falling, blanketing everything as the two of them walked through Hogsmead. It made the already ancient looking village look older, as though it had come right out of the pages of a picture book.
Ginny and Cody were bundled up against the cold air, and Cody looked around him in wonder. He couldn't remember snow before this day, and so it seemed like a new experience to him. He pushed his hat up higher, almost off his head in his attempt to make sure it did not fall over his eyes.
"Momma," He looked up at Ginny, his eyes wide with amazement, "it's so pretty!" He giggled happily as he stuck out one gloved hand to catch a few falling flakes.
Ginny smiled at him, "It is." she agreed softly. She nodded her head towards the Three Broomsticks, leading him in that direction, "Lets go and get some hot cocoa." Cody nodded, allowing his mother to steer him towards the pub. Once inside, they attracted a lot of attention, but ignored them all as they took off their winter gear.
Ginny took Cody to the counter, hoisting him up onto a stool easily. She kept one hand on his back to keep him from falling, and leaned on he counter with the other. She smiled at the girl behind the counter, "Two hot cocoas, please."
It wasn't long before Sarah came into the pub and made her way to Ginny, "Hi there Ginny, Cody!" She said, setting a cup of juice down on the counter and smiling at them.
Ginny smiled back, still watching the girl make the cocoas, "Hi Sarah. How are things at work lately?"
Sarah sighed, pushing her hair back, "Not so good. Long hours, and Sirius is never there. I think I might quit." She shrugged, her shoulders slumping tiredly as Sirius walked over, taking a seat. He smiled at Ginny and Cody, but said nothing.
Ginny nodded, "I know what you mean." She said sympathetically as the girl handed her two cups filled with hot cocoa for her and Cody. Cody grabbed his and eagerly tried to sip some.
"Ow! Owowowowww!" he cried out as the hot liquid burned his tongue. He looked up at his mother, smiling sheepishly when she raised an eyebrow at him, "It's hot." He explained, flushing slightly.
Ginny smiled lightly, "Of course it is, angel. It is hot cocoa." Her words were lost as Sirius too began to yell in pain.
"Mine's hot too!" he said, winking at Cody. Ginny rolled her eyes at him, shaking her head slightly. She liked that Sirius was so kind to Cody, it meant a lot to her.
"Here," Ginny said, taking Cody's cup, "let me show you a trick, angel." She took his hand, holding it over the steaming cup and activating his elemental power over ice. A thin sheet of ice appeared on the top of the drink, melting away and cooling it. Cody took a sip and nodded, smiling at his mom.
Sirius pushed his cup towards them, "Cool mine too?" He asked. Ginny shook her head, pushing the cup towards Cody with a small smile.
"Cody, you try it." The boy nodded, placing his hand over the cup and closing his eyes. Unfortuntalty for Sirius,  Cody froze the entire cup solid. When he opened his eyes, he looked crestfallen, and Ginny chuckled lightly.
"Baby, it takes practice." She told him, giving him a quick squeeze around the middle. She quickly reheated the cup, handing it back to Sirius with a small smile as she continued speaking to Cody, "No worries, angel. With practice, you will do better than I."
Sirius sighed, "It's pathetic...here is this little one, no older than five and he's already a better wizard than me."
Ginny winked at Sirius, 'He's three."
"That's even worse!" Sirius said, shaking his head laughing. He looked at Ginny, "Can I take him across the street to get some candy? You can stay here and talk to Sarah."
Cody looked up, his eyes begging, "Please, Momma?"
Ginny hesitated, something didn't feel right. She paused long enough for Cody to look upset before she nodded, "Alright. But wear your hat."
